FabioPeter: Saw him against Benin, he was really good but when you see goalies showboating be rest assured an error is Waiting to happen. Top keepers never do that, I doubt he is ready for the big stage. Me didn't see any showboating o o o. I only saw an happy man who grew with confidence with every save... Someone reported it here that he was just busy smiling while the team was filing out. Whereas Moses was just boning face. Abeg free the guy. If we have another clean sheet tomorow, expect him to be in goal in our subsequent matches even if eyeama is back. |

From our last game... Some observation on individual lapses of some of our players.
EZENWA: he was rarely tested. But will want him to be a bit outspoken and control his territory.
SHEHU: he lacks the confidence to cross.
ECHIEJILE: lacks confidence too, poor positioning and decision making.
NDIDI: Lacks pass accuracy and gives away possession easily.
VICTOR MOSES & SIMON MOSES: Slow in decision makings.
IHEANACHO: That boy needs a special trainer to work on his right foot. Can't use his right foot.
I hope Rohr and his video analyst must have dissected our last match and informed the players on necessary corrections. |

I just want us to seal our qualification tomorow. So that we'll have opportunities and enough time to start experimenting other formations like the 3-4-3, 3-5-2, 4-6-0 and so on starting with Zambia. |

Icon4s: See how Algeria can still qualify:
Algeria Vs Zambia. Algeria wins. Cameroon Vs Nigeria. Cameroon wins.
Cameroon Vs Algeria. Algeria wins. Nigeria Vs Zambia. Draw or Zambia wins.
The final fixtures: Algeria Vs Nigeria Zambia Vs Cameroon.
Going into the final fixture, from the results of round 4 and 5 matches Nigeria could just be 2 points ahead of Algeria.
So if Algeria wins against Nigeria they qualify for the World Cup.
The Algerians would have also done this their best case scenario calculation and so will aim at beating Zambia. This could work things out better for us if we beat Cameroon tomorrow. I'LL also love it to be a win +3yellow cards for Ighalo, V.Moses and Mikel so that they don't carry the bookings into World cup proper. |

Nigerdeltaboi: yeah iwobi, collin Udoh said he iwobi dressed in full eagles kit to watch the super eagles game. iwobi and ogu seems to me the social prefects in camp *laughing* I just like the team spirit. Unlike in those days when our players will be segregating each other by class and be forming boss to the coaches. I hope Enyeama's recall won't unsettle the order of things. |

safarigirl: as I'd you know what I was thinking.
John Ogu and Ndidi try, but there is no one quite like Iwobi. It was on Ndidi's SC that I saw them watching the match. I think he a d Kelechi and some other guy. They were saying if the Algerian guy who was decked in the 18-yard deserved a penalty good! Did anyone notice that Ebuehi seems isolated in the team even he was alone and celebrating alone while sitting on the bench? I hope their is no communication barrier. He purpose don learn English now. Or better still Ekong should try and get closer to the kid. |

TheSuperNerd: Zambia Coach Hopes For Super Eagles Defeat In Yaounde By Johnny Edward
https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/zambia.jpg
Zambia coach Wedson Nyirenda is hoping the battered Indomitable Lions of Cameroon avenge their 4-0 bashing suffered in the hands of the Super Eagles in their reverse fixture on Monday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Nyirenda who led his side to a 3-1 win over Algeria on Saturday also described the win as vital in their race to clinch the sole ticket in the African qualifying Group B for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The win at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka meant Zambia end their World Cup jinx against Algeria, thanks to brace from Brian Mwila in the sixth and 32nd minutes and another late strike from Enock Mwepu despite Yacine Brahimi getting on target.
“It was not an easy game for us, it was a big challenge for us but all in all our main was to get the three points which we have achieved so that we stay in the race,” Nyirenda told Lusaka Times after the game on Saturday.
“Nigeria lead the group but I believe Cameroon can beat them on Monday and hopefully we also win our game.”
Zambia who lost 2-1 to Nigeria on matchday 1 of the World Cup qualifying series are currently second in Group B and will be guests of group leaders, the Super Eagles, on October 7.

komekn: A player for him to compete with is now an essential requirement in the SE.
I find this problematic with a lot of our players once they get to 30 there is a downward spiral. Echiejile is only 29, the loss of pace should not be so glaring.
Considering that Patrice Evra (Marseille) is 36, Danny Alves (Paris St Germain) is 34, Antonio Valencia 32, Thiago Silva 32, these players have not lost any pace and they continue to play top level football.
Echiejile going to play in Turkey from Monaco that's not progress. He needs to be playing in a top league to progress and keep on top of his game. sorry to say He contributed nothing to our attack yesterday. not even a single cross came in from the left side-very poor. I think we're only managing him. The highlight of his international career was in AFCON 2013. After that he has offered nothing special. He is even becoming predictable and jittery as each day passes on. |

Napoleon55: one thing that will really boost our chances of getting most of our English players including Solanke is if England fails to qualify for world cup, when this happens, they will all have a second thought. ENGLAND will qualify. They are busy playing Slovakia, Slovenia, Luthania, Malta and Scotland. Even Cape Verde will qualify from this group. |

My major concern with Rohr is with the way he handles substitution.
He keep on substituting likes for likes. I wasn't expecting another attack minded sub after Kelechi at least we were already winning comfortably- there was no need for Moses-Musa sub. It should've been Moses-Ebuehi which could have see us experiment Shehu in the midfield. |

blueto: I am glad that the Nigerian team now has a coach that sees the importance of set-pieces and from the his matches so far, Nigeria has rarely conceded from set-pieces. Defending set-pieces was a major problem for Nigeria especially in the 2014 world cup. Nigeria conceded two goals from Argentina via set-pieces and conceded the first and demoralizing goal from France via set-pieces too from Pogba's header. The importance of scoring with set-pieces and being good at defending against it should never be undermined again. Set-pieces can keep a team in a tourney or send them parking. good observation. I made mention of the importance of setpieces going in to this double encounter. Stating that it can either mar or make us. I was even suprised when I saw V. Moses positioning himself to take those kicks. But alas he suprised me with how he took all-cos me was expecting Moses Simon to the job. Aside the set pieces did you see how our players were taking those shots? I think if most of our players playing home or abroad can put in a shift in training the sky will be their starting point. |

If the likes of Moses, Leon Mikel(MLM courtsey Joebie) made it to the camp in france and played against SA. Rohr might has well be on an 100% winning records- Just think out loud. |

blueto: You're very right sir. If Nigeria can make it close to or into the top 10 teams in the world before the world, that will come in handy during world cup and afcon draws as you implied, which may result to Nigeria not having the likes of Argentina to content with in the group stages.
And also, the momentum can continue to be gathered from subsequent games with regular players with gradual introduction of the new ones. As Mikel said in his interview, the players needs directions and balance. And playing with the regular players can fetch them that. i don't think we can assail the 25position on Fifa rankings. Don't forget the seedings will be in Nov this year. |

Mujtahida: Now this three remain: Mikel, Moses and Leon but the greatest is the Super Eagles. Mikel is the heartbeat of the Nigerian team. He has the power of presence, clout and his contribution is immense not to talk of his deep, instinctive vision-truly worthy of an Eagle. Love him, will always do. Victor Moses is a viper, a python and a rattlesnake. He brings in so much vibe, power and steel. God bless him Balogun is truly a baale of war. How a man can be so quiet and unobtrusive yet firm, passionate and strong is really quite something. The defence is his domain. Our Chinese wall.
Everybody played well with verve. There was that constant humming of determination, excitement and motion in our play.
And to all of you for your abiding faith in our team, insightful comments and for keeping this thread alive- you guys rock. Cheers spot on Sir. What a scintillating intro you've got over there! |

Icon4s: Mozez Praize did OK but the other local voice was that of Raphael Chukwu Ndukwe, an ex-international. I no know who send am go commentary box.
Gone are the days of good commentators. The likes of Legendary Ernest Okonkwo. Fabio Olanipeku too did OK. Hameed Adio was also OK. There was also Manasara ilo. Aisha Falode ran commentaries for the Great Super Falcons of the 1990s. All of the NTA and Radio Nigeria (Okonkwo).
You wan try radio commentaries those days? Person wey get high blood pressure no fit listen to radio commentaries. Ball go dey centre circle commentators go begin shout. And by the time the ball reach the 18yards box the shouting from the commentator will be such that everything in your house would be vibrating already. " A chance for Nigeria!!!! it is a....!!!! it is a....!!!! o no!!!!!!!!! over the bar!!!!!!!!...."
Then away games of WC qualifiers were never showed live. We only listened to live commentaries. The Cameroon Vs Nigeria game of 1990 WC qualifiers, That was the last game of the qualifiers. We needed just a draw to make it to the world cup. There were several reported cases of people fainting in their homes listening to the commentaries during that game. The tension was too much and then the radio commentators now worsened it.
Elders in the house I know you can recall those memories. Hahahaha laughing... The ones we met(no be the 70s and 80s ooo) were something else. Radio commentary is never for the weak hearted. Person for don count fingers for 4 or 5goals and the commentator will be like Nigeria 1 Cameroon 0. Those days sha. |

Question for Everybody. If Leon Balogun and Ekong were to be English players, what do you think their market values should be like? Considering that the likes of John stones and other British CBs went for a whooping £50million a season ago.

This team is progressing gradually.
From Rohr's first game against Tazania to our first WCQ match in Ndola tru Algeria, down to Cameroon the team is becoming more potent attacking wise. But there is need for us to re-enforce our defence as it seems to be the weekest part of the team. We need a strong backup for our CBs most especially Balogun(the most underrated Africa's CB) cos he is too fragile and his availability is unreliable. Get solid full backs with attacking abilities. Then with the addition of Joe Obi in the midfield and hopefully a seasoned and proven 9 will make the team hard to beat. |

Dedebanky85: My brother I tend to stay away from any argument wey no de add value e.g. Iheanacho vs Ighalo, training drill vs game day. How e take epp Naija. Glad for the win. I said it that Naija would win based in the time we played them. Had it been we played them in February or 2 weeks after confeds e for hard us. But any time span more than 2 months resets a team's chemistry.
A win in a Yaounde and a Zambia and Algeria draw over 2 legs 2ould make Naija the 5th team to qualify for Russia. Can't wait. *big smiles* those arguements were the only thing that kept the thread going. It won't be bad if you just drop by once in a while and make your opinions known without arguing. Ezenwa was brilliant today. His composure was top notch. That alone gave our opponents a lot of rethink through out the encounter.
I don't know what must have happened if it was Akpeyi. Those shots and corners would have been misjudged.
I love the way he was swift on his foot. His timing too for the sweepers was amazing. He simply proved me wrong.
He deserves this praise. |

He concentrates on what is going on and never loose guard. his presence was the main reason why onazi and ndidi sat deep to protect the defence. His assist to Ighalo was the highlight of this game.
