Also remember that the test is timed and you have less than a minute for each (20 questions 17mins) so you need to work on speed. On exam day if you can't identify the pattern in 30 seconds, MOVE! It seemed like the simpler ones were towards the end.

ESQL or SQL? SQL is Structured Query Language used to interact with databases. If its SQL my advice to you would be to install a RDBMS such as Oracle Express or MYSQL or Microsoft SQL server. And experiment freely. Oracle has an SQL manual which I'm currently using to refresh Google oracle SQL doc and have fun.

Regarding the dragnet abstract, forget those "dragnet" style of questions. They aren't the style coming out. Try this instead

I don't think 2014 materials are old o. The primary purpose of these kinds of materials is not to give you the exact questions you'd see on the day. But to sharpen you such that on exam day your reflexes are ready to deal with the questions you face.

What's the next phase

Aptitude test I believe then Assessment Centre (Careers in Africa suggested that the next phase will be an AC so I'm only speculating here)

How many SHL materials do you have? How many verbal? Numerical? Are they Assessmentday materials? We can do a swap if we don't have overlapping materials.

Regarding the link, the sender copied himself (herself?) so I guess that's what they'd use to filter whatever they get from Careers in Africa.

Did anyone see the recent opening for Talent Developer? They included a start date of 1-10-2019 which I believe translates to October 1. The others (those that came out on May 21) did not include a start date, at least for the role I applied for.

Can't really recall but I think its like this:
Numerical 17mins - 20 questions
Verbal 17 mins - 20 questions
Abstract 17mins - 16 Questions
Verbal had 4 options (though I heard engineer test in Jan was 6 options) you will have to pick two right answers. Expo: Don't insinuate and never pick an option that's not in the passage even though it sounds right
Numerical was insane with big figures, some with decimal, and no calculator. Expo: Once u glance through it and its not making sense just skip to the next one. Most of the simpler ones are toward the end.
Abstract was super insane. Most of the patterns and symbols don't make sense. Expo: Try not to find a logical pattern to the symbols every time (like how they rotate). Sometimes it's as simple as counting the symbols. Like the 1st might be 3, 2nd 4, 3rd 5 and so on.
Caveat: use the expo at ur discretion o. Though I'm sure it will help

Lol! I fully support you on that insane abstract. My advice is to try and look for unusual patterns as you advise. Sometimes the number of one object determines the number of another object in the same box. Or only one or two objects are changing with a pattern while the others are changing randomly. Sometimes the directions of the objects might be changing randomly BUT the numbers of those objects maybe changing with a pattern
