For eight bucks? Lucky you! Enjoy reading it and, please, come back to share your experience with us. Good luck. |
We gulped the gospel they brought to us and we are better off for it! By what standard? Tell us, please. |
"...The kingdom of God suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force" How could that happen after you and others claimed that he came and died for the world's sins and inequities? I thought you said he (Jesus) was "god"? Why would he (Jesus) need you mere mortals to salvage his kingdom for him? The Muslims have been promised in the Qur'an that God will make Islam overcome all other religions. That's why you don't see them running around like the Jehovah's Witnesses who go from one house to another, and some "born again" preachers who scream inside buses or "molue" disturbing other people's peace and quiet. And this is because God is the Lord and the Omnipotent over all things. |
let's go out there and let our light shine for that is the only way we going to win this world to Him who love us so much. If Jesus owns the world as you have severally claimed, why do you need to claim it for him, again? No argument, please, just explain yourself. |
How is Walecksa doing now? |
For anyone to make it big either here or there you must be self-employed. True. |
And some of you comparing Nigeria to the US, you are all stupid. The US did not achieved what Nigeria has achieved in 40 years when they where 60 years. @ Joftech, you made quite an excellent point, but don't call people stupid -- that's not nice. |

Bank managers here can easily switch over and work in Banks there. Maybe those affected were people without any certificate while they were in Nigeria. If I get my MBBS, my dear, I will go over there and continue my career there. Na lie! If you're lucky, you might get hired as a bank teller getting something like $8 to $9 dollars per hour. And that is even a big if! You will smell pepper! It's not like in Nigeria that you can get bribed for foreign exchanges or other "arrangees." I trust seun if he wins he will pack his bag as if somebody is after him. You know what? People like Seun can actually make it in America. As a Webmaster, all he needs is some reliable friend or member of family to put him up (I mean house him for a while), call Comcast up and use part of his BTA or pocket money to hook up High-speed Internet -- before you know it, he's become self-employed. He will definitely make a decent living designing and hosting Websites! |
Those people are the 10% (not accurate They are not even up to 2% of the population! And, @ Kazey, are you in Nigeria? |
Creative writing? Good! |
You stated that God created Jesus from the dust. Let me quote your text "3:59 "The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was." Where did this come from? At what point did God create Jesus and from which dust? @ elbaron, what the above Qur'anic ayat is telling us is that Jesus and Adam are kind of similar in the way Allah created them. The only reason why you people are confusing yourselves and saying that Jesus was "god" and "son of God" was the mere fact that he was conceived of no father. That's all. So Allah is telling us in that Qur'anic passage that Adam also was created of no parental coitus -- in fact, in Adam's case there was neither a father nor a mother. Allah only breathed life into him by commanding the moulded clay, "Be!" and "He was!" KUN! FAYA KUN! Please, get that right, sir. Adam, according to my bible was greater in the image and likeness of God, molded out of dust in exactitude to God's image. Another Confusion! Can you tell me, sir, in what image? Was it in the Negroid or Mongoloid or Caucasoid (that you and others want us to believe by having that European man's picture on every church's wall) image? Please, tell us since you all love to claim that God created man in His own image. How confused is the man for spreading confusion and obfuscation all over the land! In Islam, Allah has warned us strictly against forming any image about him. Even to have a thought of how Allah might look is sacrilegious! Allah knows best. |
this is a free world everybody is entitled to there own ideas believe and religion!!!!! Well, you got that right, sister. |
Luke.12:51-52 “Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.” So house of Abraham is divided because of different beliefs on Jesus, mainly to 3 Christian religions (Orthodox, Catholics, Protestants) and to two Islamic religions (Sunni and Shiite) @ elbaron, Ghanaman, how else would you have interpreted these? Let's read your own attempt at interpreting them before you rubbish AbduRahman's as conjecture! Matt.18:12-14 "...In the same way, my Father in heaven does not want one of these little children to be lost.” AbduRahman was only quoting from Mathew 18:12-14, he never agreed nor "recogni[zed] Jesus as the son of God." Please, stop putting words into people's mouth in order to support your illusion. |
OK, read on, and good luck |
It sounds like she rhymes because she was a rapper and a poet in those days. You know, when she clashed with Bill Clinton and all that Jazz. cry i doubt it it's very rare 4 me to cry about books though i've cried about sum before but it's not that common. i might be really moved by d book but i'm not sure if i'm gon cry! But, are you going to tell me the truth, if it moves you to tears? Or, you're just trying to "se ako"? |
Lol! You're just starting. I bet you -- you're going to cry! |
Oh, Dammy! Yes! Yes! Yes! I think that girl, Sister Souljah, needs to win an award for that work alone. It's awesome! |
I have a copy, but I don't want to part with it. I have re-read it like more than five times! And, each time, I cried like a baby. Please, pay the price -- if you thereafter find it unworthy, I'll refund your money to the last cent. Don't mind her Ebonics, though. |
@blackbeauty, consider WesleyanA's post; it's full wisdom. Even though her system is mainly applicable to the Yoruba people, I still think every in-law (Yoruba, Hausa, and Ibo nevertheless) demands and deserves respect. We Nigerian men do listen to our family, especially our biological parents. Once they reject you, that's it! Take it from a full blooded Nigerian-Yoruba man, who is highly cultured as well. OK? Good luck on your trip. |
There is no compulsion in religion. You're free to belief in whatever. Cheers! |
What belief? I'm not talking about Christianity as a belief; it's OK if you want to belief it. But, my qualms are on the assumption of Jesus being that particular image I described earlier. |
Oh, my God! Have you read it? If not, please, try and do. Ooof! It's the bomb! |
OK. I guess, you have not subscribed to that belief. |
What I mean is: A Jesus with pale-white skin, blue eyes, and bushy or trimmed beard (it depends). Like the one you see on most churches' stained glasses and cross. Do you own a cross with such an image? |
So, what do you think about the European features of Jesus? |
@ damygurl, it's only an appeal to our brothers and sisters who care to listen. I only thought that AbduRahman made a lot of sense; at least, to me. So, please, don't be offended if you don't care to hear and hearken to the warning. religious arguements don't make sense to me anymore because at da end of da day i'm still gon believe what i believe and u still gon believe urs but r we still gon be friends? not likely!!! You know what? You're right on the money! It happened once to me in college. I met this young woman, think of it, she possessed everything a man possibly wants in a woman; she's beautiful, intelligent, and played basketball for the university. Wow! She was a total package. We had known each other for two semesters, you know -- just saying "hi," and stuff. One day we both summed up the courage and decided to go on a "date." Everything was great and all that. Then she started talking about religion. She wanted to know what my thoughts were on being born again. She wanted to know if I believed that Jesus was God and that he left the heavens and came here on earth in order to die for our salvation? She wanted to know if I believed that only those who have been born again would enter paradise. Having known where the discussion would lead and; also, because I knew she would probably not like my answers, I begged her in the name of our Creator to let us not talk about religion and enjoy our day to the fullest! She was undaunted! She kept on prodding me for my thoughts -- until she blew the whole thing! Expectedly, right there, we parted ways. Did she like the fact that the "date" turned sour? Nope, because I could see it in her demeanor. Did I like the fact that she made me lose a great babe in her? Heck no! Consequently, she regretted her action -- she told one of her friends that she shouldn't have goaded me for my religious leaning at all. So, I agree with you that arguments about religions can make you lose wonderful friends, or even acquaintances. But, what can we do -- we still must preach the gospel, right? |
I don't give a damn about what a British journalist says, their ungodly society that turns churches to pubs, encourages divorce and promotes an unjust war is not worth copying in this regard. @ Owo, it seems as if you didn't know your history at all; the same British people you now refer to as "ungodly" brought your Christianity to you in Nigeria, and you took and gulped it hook, line, and sinker! They should go and tackle Islam that is ravaging their soceity, afterall we have tackled ours I don't think the discussion is about Islam. This is how you people start ugly stuff then you'll be quick to blame it on Muslims. Talk about the immorality of your pastors who are stealing their flocks' money to by Mercedes Benzes, limousines, and helicopters while the lot of their followers wallow in poverty. And when these poverty-stricken "church-goers" ask why their prayers have not been answered, you and other deceived lots will say: "they are not true believers; that's why they've not been touched by the 'holy ghost.'" Please, wake up, brother. |
@Exu, check out this Qur'anic ayat: "Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece (/as one unit of creation), before We clove them asunder (/then We parted them)? We made from water every living thing, Will they not then believe?" (Qur'an 21:30) One united piece (like a rounded egg)? Then We parted them ('Big-Bang" Theory)? We made every living thing from water. What does your elementary science tell you about the composition of the Universe? That more than 75% of it is covered by water, right? Does that help? Or, do you need more evidences? |
@udaiyah, I feel the same way. Ride on, AbduRahman. Some of us care to hear you more! |
Why is it that all the muslims on the forum are neither male nor female Because Muslims don't discriminate. |
Bible is full of "sons of God" (son written with big first letter is Greek invention, as Hebrew does not have small or big letters), and so is called almost all prophets in Bible, even Adam (who had not even mother according to Bible, Koran does not deny even that he had mother/(HUMAN!)father @AbduRahman, may the almighty Allah increase you in knowledge (Amin). You see, this "Son of God" illusion has really confused lots and lots of our brothers and sisters that have ventured into the other side. Some even contend erroneously and perhaps ignorantly that "Son of God" is actually "god" himself (I use "god" because I don't want to partake of their blasphemy). Honestly, I don't want to see any more of our people go astray; if possible I would like the lost ones to come to their senses and realize that "Trinity" was nothing but a conjecture that fitted the Canonical churches of the olden days. Therefore, God has no son, and He never came here as a human being! And that whiteman (blonde, blue-eyed, European) they all bow down to -- Argh!!! That is total blasphemy! Please, eschew "Trinity" and believe in the Unity of Allah! I am begging you because I love you all! Don't give in to the ignorance of "well, my parents are or were believers in "Trinity," how can I do otherwise?" Your parents are or were wrong! And you can turn around now and do the right thing. Remember that Abraham's (Ibrahim's) parents were idolaters and he turned away from them and their false gods. You can do the same, today. The Holy Qur'an even makes it understandable that if any human being (either now, or of old) would at all be credited as the "son of God" he would have to be Adam. This was the only human being with no connection to either a father or a mother. The command of the Creator was only "Be!" and "He was!" Readers should remember that Jesus was a product conceived by a woman, Mary, who went through the whole gestational period of nine months like any pregnant woman out there today. Allah knows best. |
