LANDING GIST,
Happy new year dear Nairaland family. I am very sorry this is coming late Nairaland Family but I still hope this would be useful for those travelling soon.
Travelling date: 24 - 26 December 2021.
Flight: KLM Lagos to Amsterdam to Vancouver to Calgary
Documents taken along: Enrollment letter
Tuition receipt
ArriveCan receipt
Vaccination card
Letter of Acceptance
Covid 19 test result
Letter of Approval/ Introduction letter
Travel support letter from the school
My flight was for 10:00 pm on the 24th of December 2021 KLM from Lagos. I got to the airport around 2:00 pm. As I entered the airport, I was directed to NDLEA where they did not bother to search me. Next I moved to the agricultural declaration unit where I was asked to pay 2k because I only had a bag containing foodstuffs. I went to weigh my bags and they overweighed the allowed 32 kg each. I had to shuffle stuffs around and also paid for 2 extra bags. I will advise you weigh your bags before leaving for the airport.
Check-in for KLM started by 5:00 pm so it's advisable you get to the airport early because the queue no be for here. I was asked for my enrollment letter, arrivecan, covid test result and also tuition receipt at the Lagos airport by the airline officer. He wasn't convinced so I was asked to login to my school portal to confirm the documents I presented. Everything went smoothly from there from immigration to boarding the flight to Amsterdam.
At Amsterdam, I had a layover of 8 hours but it didn't feel that long maybe because there was wifi. I wasn't asked to present plenty plenty documents at Immigration, just my passport and covid test result. The flight from Amsterdam to Vancouver was really long, more than 9 hours and I was unable to sleep. Towards the end of the flight I was feeling sick but the flight went well. I will advise you rest well before travelling to Canada because the journey is quite stressful.
At Vancouver airport, I had to use the self service machine which was quite easy to use. I took the printed receipt to immigration and I was cleared to go to CBSA to get my study permit. Since it was Christmas, the officers weren't much. I was asked for my passport and letter of approval and my study permit was printed. No questions at the border and also no arrival test even though I had preregistered with switch health. I had to board another flight to Calgary and also Vancouver wasn't cold at all that day.
The west jet flight to Calgary was delayed until midnight so I just explored the airport, the airport big die. At Calgary airport, I wasn't asked to present any documents maybe because it was a domestic flight. No covid testing at Calgary airport also. I went to pick my bags but one was unfortunately missing so I had to spend some extra time at the airport. At this point I was more than exhausted because I haven't slept for close to 36 hours just taking paracetamol due to the constant headache. By the time I was done at the airport I was greeted by the almighty Canada winter grin. Words cannot quantify the severity of the cold here.
For those travelling soon and you are scared of how to know your way around the airport, don't worry you will be fine. Just follow others as you leave the plane and also ask people if you are confused though there are clear sighs to help you to your boarding gates.
For those that just got their pprs, congratulations to you all and may Canada favor us all. And to those still waiting, it will end in praise. Also to those refused, kindly sit up, order your notes and refire. Even though I just got here, I can attest that Canada is worth all the wait.
My sincere apologies once again for posting this late. Thank you.

Good morning house. Please am traveling on Thursday. Please which bank can I get dollar to buy please and it will be processed on time. Thanks I will really appreciate any help or direction on where to get it. Thanks

Or has anyone been able to register on this cbn website http://www.tradesystem.gov.ng/

Please if you have let me know please if you will be able to assist me
Hello. I will like to share my personal experience with you. I travelled yesterday December 23 and it was a hell of a journey and patience to get pta from the bank.
1. Create an account on that trades portal to check if your BVN is linked to your email. If not, you will have to add email to your BVN as soon as possible and it takes nothing less than 24hrs.
2.if there is email on your BVN, kindly create an account and request for the pta as soon as possible. I will suggest UBA because they are really fast. 25% would be given to you in cash while the rest will be loaded on a prepaid card which so far is working well for me.
3. Please make friend with the bank manager so that it can be fast tracked. The form A you filled has to be firstly approved by the bank then it moves to CBN for final approval. According to the standard I was told, it takes CBN nothing less 48 hours before it will be approved.
Wish you a safe trip to Canada. Currently replying this post from Amsterdam.

You can only travel at least 30 days before resumption. I booked for December 13 too, let’s be hopeful they don’t ban us.
I really hope so because this news is very depressing sad

Please, those that are fully vaccinated and have travelled I have a question.
1.Is it the vaccination certificate from the NPHCDA website I should tender as proof of vaccination or I should make photocopies of that green card I was given?
Thank you.

My people I hail o. I have come again .
Now I am searching for flight o. I love flying with KLM BUT the 8hrs layover is too much as I am traveling with kids . Now I saw that United airlines have the shortest of 2 hrs . I am thinking of booking this but I am not sure if I’ll need a US transit visa for the stopover.. pls I need your expertise advice
There is KLM with less layover. If you are transiting through the US, you will need a transit visa.

Good evening my people, is it advisable to go to Qlife very early before my schedule time? . I choose 11AM but I’m planning to be there before 9AM.

Thank you.
Going early is even better. At the clinic, you will see one television playing a video at the reception, they said irrespective of your appointment time, you will be attended to according to your time of arrival so first come first served

Not going to lie the SOP was trash it was an agent that applied for me twice I’ve showed a lot of people the sop and they wanted to cry for me.Check the attachment below for my SOP
I’ve paid $1500 tuition for my school conestoga college
This your sop get as e be o. I don't see anywhere you talked about home ties which was why the vo stated that you are mobile and no dependent.
Also, what have you been doing since you left high school? For me, I attended a programming institute which I attached the certificate in my reapplication. Explain to the vo what you have been doing since you left high school with proof. And please rewrite that sop from scratch. Ask for template on this forum.
Although that 1500 tuition deposit is okay, I will advise you pay more. Did you state your sponsors occupation, try to link it with how you will be able to pay your 4 years tuition.

When I first applied I was 16 then the second time I turned 17.
Now I just turned 18 this year, and I prefer diploma program
Hello fawaz12345, according to your gcms notes, it was your sop that wasn't convincing enough. I was refused earlier in the year with similar reasons and I reapplied with the exact same documents I used earlier.
For your reapplication, I will suggest paying a substantial part of your tuition. Also I will advise you retouch your sop and give it to others to review. Include a LOE to address the vo concerns e.g you should explain your family ties properly with evidence, how your choice of program will benefit you, how you will take care of your parents etc. Also if possible submit landed properties.
And most importantly, na prayer de work for this whole Canada waka. All the best.

Good day everyone.
I want to apply for admission for my son.
He is just 18yrs old.
I need a school in Canada that process admission faster.
I mean getting admission in few days.
The reason why I'm in hurry is that the fund I have in my bank account will be used for a project, so I decided to use it for sponsorship before it leaves my account.
Thanks.
You can try university of Manitoba.
With regards to funds, it is advisable to hold the funds for as long as possible to demonstrate to the visa officer that your funds would be available.
Admission might take like a month and since he must likely will be resuming May or September, I will advise you use the funds now then start building your account and apply by January or February next year

16. That's what someone told me at least. I was told that I had to be at least 18 years old.
This is true for Astrazeneca and Johnson & Johnson.
A 16 year old can actually take Pfizer/biontech vaccine.
Why don't you place a call to NPHC or go there in person to ask.

1.I dont understand the statement that VAC will return my parcel back to me when I paid for 2 way courier service from DHL

2.Does this mean they have sent it to IRCC Abuja

thanks
You will receive another email when it reaches Abuja VAC from ircc office in Abuja. Then it would be dispatched through their own courier service to DHL who will then bring it to you. Your passport should arrive on or before Friday.

Can you please list out the procedures when applying to any schools? (Undergrad degree)
(Like what i am expected to do: from applying, submitting documents, getting admission to visa) just list out please

Anyone can help on this...thanks
I know the while process can be bothering, but to some extent you should be able to do your own research as well. Undergraduate admission process is very easy compared to graduate or masters.
Not withstanding, please go to your prospective college website, you should be able to get the list of documents required for admission and also how to go about the process. Thank you.
