presido1: He can no doubt but has he stayed upto 5 years in UK?. You cannot naturalize with Working Permit. As it stands now he cannot play for any other club in England without going through Home Office first. Thats what happend to Yakubu when he moved to Everton. I'm not looking at his eligibilty. I was actually referring to his intentions which I dont see anything wrong with. |
Sports › Re: Mikel Applies For British Citizenship by akinalabi(m): 9:46am On Feb 19, 2009 |
Akolawole: No Sir
These are the step for him to take
## He must be on work permit for 5 years, then apply for ILR, which home office will definitely give him(provided he has no criminal record)
## he can then apply for British passport a year after( Must pass citizenship test though).
There is no corner-corner to this.
Another alternative is for him to join UK Army . he is from a commonwealth country so he can get "Right of abode" straight. But he does. Personally I dont see the issue in this. He can naturalize if he chooses to. |

Olive branch is for those that fight and quarell. All through, I've presented my points without any insults. Even when Sir kobo turned on me with his "simple" questions , I remained calm. . . As always |

You can continue to attack people as you please. You have a nice life!!! Oh my goodness Here is the same person that has attacked and insulted me about 5 times without me responding even once saying this. No wonder dapolam did not continue here. . . Its pointless |

@ kobojunkie,
You're trying to debate a politician? On Nairaland? Give me a break. If you really want to contribute to the Nigerian polity, its definitely not here. Bullying on Nairaland is not going to add a thing.
I'm not the type you will list questions for online and expect me to reply one after the other. What do you take me for?
Everybody reading this can tell where you stand. Even if you continue with the insults, it doesn't change a thing.
M T was straight forward to say he is anti dapolam and I respect him for that.
My position remains unchanged. Is he legally qualified? Then I've got no personal problem with it. Why the fuss?
Yes, he should have finished with this discussion but does that justify the noise? Maybe he had more important issues to attend to. Maybe whatever. I dont care. Why do we think responding on nairaland and facebook is all that matters.
He hasnt even beem nominated so what are we talking about. He's just one of the millions of Nigerians that can say I want to be in the house of rep in 2011.
How many others have you asked questions?
Na wah o.
Will I vote for him? Don't think so. Will I support him? Don't think so.
If I have any problems with him, I know where to take it to. |

MT: Call me anti-dapo and i will answer to the affirmative. I do not hide behind a finger. That's my position as it stands now. Now we're talking. Its the turn of kobojunkie to accept this as well so we can all move on. |

Kobojunkie: @AkinAlabi Prove that the above reasoning is true Prove that I am not neutral. That you interpreted what I posted as that which you have above proves your motif in here, do you are realize that ? But that aside, I ask you to prove the above statements you make are true or accept you may need to go get yourself checked.
Now Note: I am not asking you for silly reasoning and more excuses, I am asking you to prove to me that what you posted above is true. Simple!! You might call my reasonings silly but that doesnt change a thing. Here's what you said. Can we please ignore all persons who come in to attack those who question dapolam? Those that attack him nko? If that is not bias, i dont know what is. Getting myself checked? Its gotten to that over dapolam? Realy shows you're neutral You can carry on with this but I'm sure the guy has learnt his coming in the first place was not a wise move. |

MT: @toba1909,
I still insist that I refuse to either join issues with you or descend to your level. I have made this my stand known to you several times on this forum. While we understand that English is not our mother's tongue, so we can still permit some flaws, but reading through your post alone is a disaster. It makes no meaning. You have MURDERED English completely.
I will just advise that instead of playing a cheap, iliiterate sycophant here on this thread, it will be better for you to go and address your deficienc(ies) in English for you to be able to scale through WAEC at least. It is going to enhance your art of communication. Even Cockney English is not this bad!. I wonder . Like I always say to you, I will just let you pass. Well, not all of us are as proficient as you are in English language. MT: What else do you want Kobojunkie to say?. I challenged Dapolam (only Dapolam!) to debate, and he accepted. He was not under any duress whatsoever to accept, only for him to bolt out at the last minute. Next thing, some people sprung up to unleash incoherent mayhem on anyone that asks Dapo to respond to those questions. Can you beat that? Thats my point. He shouldnt have taken this up on a public forum. If you cant stay till the end, why come in? I WILL NEVER respond to such on a public forum defending myself against faceless Ids. MT: You have to go and check again. I have told you to click on http://www.barackobama.com/index.php, then scroll downward, you will see OBAMA EVERYWHERE inscription. Then check all the public fora and blogs listed under it. To be specific , they are 16 in numbers.
However, I hope you are not looking for an "Obama" ID replying to people on those fora and blogs. I bet I will be shocked if you reason along that line . The point I am trying to prove here is Obama embraced internet technology well deployed on public fora and blogs to launch his campaign. I never said embracing Internet technology was bad. I said defending your political aspirations on a public forum is not a wise move. I said I doubt if Obama did that, you said I was wrong and you gave a link. On that link (including the links at OBAMA EVERYWHERE), I did not see Obama defending his aspirations on a public forum. Dont twist things. Like I said, I have never seen him in my life even though I'm from Ibadan, but I have no problems with him (or anyone else) contesting if the constitution of the country allows him. |

Kobojunkie: Can we please ignore all persons who come in to attack those who question dapolam? I mean I still want this man to give us answers to show he is qualified for the dog. Just sick of the lame excuses I have gotten so far from some of these people. I would rather burn my vote than cast it for someone I do not think is competent and ready for the job. I just do not understand why asking questions has become a crime for some Nigerian minds out there. I cant believe you typed that. You just proved you're not neutral. That you're anti- dapolam Who are those you think are competent in dapolam's constituency. In your own constituency, who is the incumbent rep and who are those gunning for his post come 2011. Have you assesed them? Have you asked them questions? @ M T, The link you showed me didnt show where Obama was defending himself on a public forum. |
Politics › Re: Dapolam Accepts Defeat, speaks to Nairalanders by akinalabi(m): 1:54pm On Feb 17, 2009 |
MT: We already know where you tilt. You do not sound like a neutral. Should you need to be reminded, the noise is all about DAPOLAM defending/justifying his manifestos, as well as proving to us that he has what it takes to effect the "changes" he is clamouring for.
It shows you are still practising "Amala Politics". You need to learn the principles of modern politics. Even, Obama creates a website for his campaign. If you need your campaign to have such a penetrating reach, you must embrace the internet technology. Even though I grew up in Ibadan, I've never seen Dapo in my life. I cant recognize him if I see him. I dont like or hate him. I dont have any problems with him. If he is legally qualified, why raise dust here? Well, I agree he was "wrong" to appear and then abandon his defence here but he shouldnt have been here in the first place. Having a website and embracing Internet technology is a different kettle of fish. Its different from coming to a public forum where different people will come under faceless IDs to lambast you. I didnt see Obama in a public online forum in the build up to his campaign. Maybe I'm wrong sha. . . |

I can't imagine discussing my political ambitions on a public Internet forum.
I'm not for or against this guy but I still wonder what the noise is about.
Does the constitution allow him? Is he of age? Does he have any criminal indictment?
Saying he should not contest cos his father did not perform as governor or that he lived large when his father was there is HOGWASH. |

A-40: I agree with Dayo here there is no best i can only manage Alan Wiley sometimes the worst are obviously Mike Riley and Rob "Armed Robber" Styles Alan Wiley is underrated. He does his job silently and without fuss. That is how a referee should be. Howard Webb is another idiot. Over hyped by the English. |
