How is it a problem for anybody when someone says he prefers to live somewhere?
If you choose to live abroad and it suits you, great! It doesnt make sense to start telling them to come back and all sorts of comments on this thread.
On the other hand, if living in Nigeria is what suits you (like me) I dont see the sense in trying to ridicule that person and why he must live abroad.
Settling at a particular location is a personal choice that cant be analyzed. |

akinalabi: Nigeria over populated? I dont agree with that.
Yes, Lagos is over populated but not Nigeria.
Infact, England is more "over populated" than Nigeria Treetop20: where are getting your facts from? or are you chatting out of your ass again I insist England is more "over populated" than Nigeria When we talk about over populations, you have to look at the ratio between the number people and the country's size. England's size is about 130,395 km2 with a population of about 51 Million. Nigeria's size is about 923,768 km with a population of about 150 million. Remember this over population discussion came up when we talked about the availaibility of lands. So who's chatting out of his whatever? |

Old school educating younger and DSTV guys? To be honest, its tough for everyone. Back then, one could not monitor many teams at the same time. In this day and age, you can monitor Utd, Chelsea, Real, Barca, Arsenal all at the same time and suggest their line up week in week out. Then, one could not say for instance, who was playing left back for Calabar Rovers so no be small thing. But I'll do my best for Shooting. My favourite seasons were the 1992 (Caf Cup), 1994 (Harris and Udi Combo), 1996 (Champions cup run). |

They'll have their own vehicles for delivery. dae: Yor stuff Might not get delivered! and even if its delivered, hungry pple can commot something b4 it gets to you.
The perosn who put together you order at the store can deliberately remove something and claim it was sent to you, afterall it'll be included in your receipt. In this case, what can you do? you think they gonna give you a replacement?? or u think calling the popo(police) will make any difference ? NOPE!!!!! i dont think so, and the simplest explanation as to why this aint possible ------
Yahoo yahoo boyz/girls will show shake your world! Wont you double check your stuffs when you receive them? determined: I was at Shoprite over the weekend and it was a horrible experience.
First of all, not only did it take about an hour through the Ozumba Mbadiwe Traffic to get there, but when I finally got in, parking space was a problem, It was like the whole of Lagos was at the Palms.
Ok. I eventually found somewhere to park and started shopping and at the end of the day I spent more than 30 mins on the long queue to pay for my stuff.
Now I really want to know everyone's opinion, What's the point of all this? Why can't we have online shopping with our interswitch or etranzact cards while such shops have a delivery service plan and whats your opinion about online shopping for places like Shoprite, Game, Park and Shop etc. in Nigeria? Ozumba? Nightmare!!!! As a regular though, I know the times I can pass through there without much traffic. Queing at the checkout is another nightmare. I'll never shop at weekends there except I go there 9am. All in all, you're right about the online shopping thingy. They can experiment with Island before they move into other areas. I for one, will order online if the service is there. |

tkb417: yeah i didnt buy that edition. after that first ISR edition, i never missed any copies of the ISR, CF and CFI Mumini Alao used to be my favorites then but i dunno why the guy is laying so low in Sports jounalism The Jenkins Alumona, Michel Obi, Paul Basseys of this world shouldnt be taking all the glory. some guys were really cool early 90s. I wont say he is laying low. He is the MD of Complete Communications, publishers of complete sports. His "SoccerTalk" column every Monday is still as articulate as ever. tkb417: I think the publisher Sunny Obazu Ojeagbase should be given an award for that. The man is great. He's my mentor. I owe most of the things I know in business to him. Spoke to him last week to tap more of his brain. He doesnt do much of sports anymore. he focusses his attention on his other publication, Success Digest. tkb417: so Oga Akin Alabi, u bought the 89 edition i never enter secondary school that time even the 89 world cup qualifiers, na in bits i see the games saw our game against Angola in Lagos, saw our game against Cameroon in Lagos and i think our game against Cameroon in Yaounde(not sure) I was also a kid then (JS 1 I think) but my brother was a fanatic as well so we contribute money to buy. Eastbay: tkb, Nigeria's game vs Cameroun was in Ibadan,Adamasingba stadium. I think, because I lived there then. Also I think Mitchell Obi has been around.he was with the Guardian in the 80s.He's an accomplished journalist in his own right. It was actually the away game that got us knocked out. I think we had David Ngodigha in goal. You don live for my Ibadan before? dayokanu: Okwaraji's incident was on my birthday August 12 1989 Are you sure you did not have a hand in it? |

BlueDiva: A loss is not a loss. Thats why we have words like narrow loss, spanking, humilation, mauling, disgraced etc etc. Liverpool humilated MU and disgraced Madrid. . .but beat Chelsea. So you see
Some things are spectacular and memorable. Like Arsenals 49 unbeaten. That is something for the history books, even if they won no titles. A loss is a loss. All those words are for the press. Apart from the bragging and taunting between these teams, it just like we lost to any other team. 3 points dropped but at a very comfortable postion. I never thought we would win till the end of the season and as a bookmaker myself, United beating Liverpool was not a sure thing. |

Just take a look at the table once again. . . Ask yourself, if you would have taken this if you were offered it at the start of the seaon. Would Chelsea and Liverpool have taken it? We had a bad day. tkb417: yeah. i think i started buying in February 1993. My first copy was the first edition of ISR. The one that had Okocha at the cover page. I think Okocha was in Frankfurt then, and the whole edition was on the African Natiions cup qualifiers and Okochas exploits in the Bundesliga.
Guy, i hit my mum like hell buying all sorts of things. At a point, i had a heap of those mags and i thought of renting it out for awon boiz that wanted to read. Another venture i did then was renting out my Game boi (super mario) to my classmates. I think that was 93 also.
Nostalgic moments man. Those days were good o. You came to the party late. That means you missed the Senegal 92 special edition where Mumini Alao had an exclusive interview with Stephen Keshi. Let's go back a bit. The Westerhof interview in 1989 after we got bundled out of the world cup qualifiers. You're right. Those days were great. |

Eastbay: Rude wake-up call. Don't even know what to say. My vacation begins today and I don't like the way my team made it start out.
Question is,where do we go from here? United hasn't been quite humiliated like this in all my years of watching the team.I mean,1-4 at OT is the worst kind of beating we could take. And to add to the fact that its our worst rivals,Liverpool, and we feel the pinch.
But it's not the end of the world. We can turn things around, and we've got the squad for it. I feel we got caught on a bad day. Fergie himself was lost.Making triple substitutions is a gamble, and my hunch told me he was going to screw this up,
A bad weekend, all haters have earned their say, though most of it has been the usual dust. We go on to WIN THE LEAGUE. |
