can't they resign? huh
It's time to relieve Gary. I'm one of his ardent supporters but I
guess it can't go on forever.

O'shea? It's a proof that Fergie has a very soft side. There is
no reason why O'shea is still a key squad member.

Giggs? Not too sure but at 35, I dont really think he needs
another season.

Scholes? He's back. I believe we can still get some quality
from him.

Some people are still worried and worked up about Ronaldo. . .

The boy is busy collecting awards. . .

Different strokes. . .

Now, he has officially entered Man Utd's hall of fame. He's the
4th to do it in United's shirts after Denis Law, Bobby Charlton
and George Best

scottN:
He truly deserves the Ballon d'Or award but I doubt if he has the personality and charisma to pick the World Footballer of the Year. I think Casillas or Xavi is in a better position 4 that.
The award is not for personality and character. It's for
performance on the field of play.

In 2008, no one matched Ronaldo.

One more to pick. . . The world player of the year and
he'll surely get it.

Yeah right. . .

We've seen people stand their ground even when they're absolutely
wrong. I don't see that as a virtue. I see it as outright stupidity.

My belief is that when I'm wrong, I should hold my hands up and
agree. I've seen a top bank CEO shift ground to agree with a level
one staff.

But there is no need to make him change. We can't all
sleep and face the same place.

Anyways, I hate to admit that some of his attacks on the
3 lions are justified but he overdoes it.

But his attacks on the other hand on the premiership
cannot be justified in anyway especially when you consider
that he's a bundesliga fan.

i don't want to get into a heated argument with you over this, but if u will tell yourself the truth, then you shuld know that ur beloved Ronaldo nearly signed 4 madrid if not 4 SAFs staunch resistance. His dad and brother confirmed that nuffin would stop him from being a galacticos bacause thats where his heart was[is]. We all love him, but he nearly betrayed that love.
Is Trez an italian?, is Kaka an italian, is Eto a spaniard, dude please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe nearly means different things to us. He nearly signed
for Real? Are you kidding?

No bid. . . No transfer request. . .

Does that sound like nearly to you?

Its because of peope like you that Real's antic still work. You
just gulp down every headline you see.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 6:58pm On Nov 21, 2008
As far as that Eastbay boy is conerned, you just have to crucify
Ronnie to show you love United.

He talked about him not denying when he was interviewed by
ESPN. For pete's sake, how many times does he want to hear
that he said he wished at a stage that Fergie should accept
Reals proposal.

What if the stage he wished for that was when ESPN interviewed
him. That means it was a credit to him for keeping calm. And if
you know Ronaldo well, he always says Nobody Knows Tomorrow.

Today, he still says he doesnt know his future. Does that mean
he's still insulting United?

He keeps saying he cannot promise his mum, the manager, the
fans and whoever about what will happen tomorrow. It takes
a strong person to admit that in public.

Fergie met with him in the summer and he told Fergie he was
staying. What else do you want? Change his name to Manchester?

There was nothing to deny. Real were all over the media that
they want to buy Ronnie that they would pay and all that. No
bid, no nothing. Ronnie did not ask for a tranfer request so what
is there to deny.

Real were making noise through marca. They said he would be
theri player by July 7th. Where is he now?

Fergie will not take insults and he did not feel he insulted United
yet Eastbay felt insulted because of marca's antics.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 1:54pm On Nov 21, 2008
Because you don't have a point.

The whole noise was from spain and even at the height of
it, we saw pictures of Fergie spending days on the beach.

And Ronaldo? He was in camp with the National team.

Get it son. . . You don't go around denying every story about
you. After the Euros, he granted interviews we all saw and
not the kinds of rumours marca were peddling.

He admitted that at stage, he wished Fergie would accept
the offer.

I dont see that as an insult to United. I cant understand how
that is not insult to anyone.

Abeg, lets talk about Villa, you're begining to sound like a
broken record.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 1:33pm On Nov 21, 2008
Eastbay:
And neither do you count in his life,so that makes us equal.
And back to my question. If the saga was orchestrated by Real (as you ignorantly want to claim),then why he not deny them?
Whatever.
Call me whatever you want, but I won't change my tone.
No oneon this thread is more United than I am.
And if the fact is silly to you, then go to hell
Why didnt he deny it? I'm saying again you dont go denying
every rumour about you. You'll only add petrol to the fire.

After the Euros, he came out cleanly and stated his stance.

You don't need to get worked up over me or over Cristiano.

Big time United fans are not known to be fickle. That makes
you less than most United fans out there.

Fergie, David Gill and the rest of us love at Matt Busby way
love him and that's the way it stands. You can step up your
campaign on Nairaland.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 1:02pm On Nov 21, 2008
Eastbay:
Mr. akinalabi
You have no right to tell me I'm silly.Did you read what people have been saying about me that prompted that statement?
I repeat. No one on this thread is a
You mention Marca:I ask-did Ronaldo deny those stories?
You mention Rio: at least there wasn't the intense speculation that followed his case like Ronaldo's.
What stories?

Most of the stories were about what Real will like to do. Like
they were ready to pay this and that. They sesationalized
the whole thing.

You don't go around denying every rumour about you. You'll
onky add petrol to fire. When the whole furore died down, he
stated the facts.

Yes, Cristiano was tempeted to leave and he said that, at a
stage, he wished Fergie would accept Real's offer.

Come on, how is that a bad thing from a young man who has
always dreamt of playing for Real? You just don't like the guy
and thats it. Real transfer or no transfer.

But thanfully, the guy is a tough nut. He's a hated figure all
over UK and if he was lilly livered, he would have quit the game
altogether.

You sure didnt follow the Rio transfer saga. Granted, Cristiano's
case was more popular because he's more popular than Rio
world wilde and also because it was between 2 massive clubs
from 2 different countries.

That makes Rio's case worse. No one was courting you and
you're twisting the arm of the club. Did you read Rio's autobiography?

He said at a stage, he knew he has overdone it and that when
Fergie called him to his office one day, he thought Fergie was
gonna say "I'll sell you".

Yet, Rio is still popular.

You just cant stand the guy. Thats it, but thanfully, you don't count
when it comes to the boy's life and career.

PS: I still insist your statement was silly.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 11:50am On Nov 21, 2008
Eastbay:
Listen,all of you.
I repeat.None of you is more United than I am.
That's a silly statement. How did you know that?

I don't think anyone has said what Cristiano did in Brazil was
right so you're totally off the mark.

I don't see anything wrong with a player considering his
future which was exactly what Cristiano did. Did you for once
think Ronaldo was a United lifer? What's come over you?

Besides most of the "Ronaldo saga" were straight out of
Marca which we know is pro real madrid.

Did you remember Rio's delayed contract? Today, Rio is
a rock for us and our captain (at least the first two captains,
Gary and Ryan are no longer regulars)
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 9:31am On Nov 21, 2008
Akola,

I dey o. I was always coming here reading. I couldnt log
in though as I as always on the road. But I'm back to base.

Dayo,

Ronnie's burst to form was what lifted United to glory. Remember
the last time we won it was 2003.

And helping a team win the bundesliga is not what makes on
great. Did you see your list? Maradona winnning the world cup,
Zidane winning the world cup and so on.

don't mention mediocre players like Ribery and mediocre
achievements like winning the Gernam league.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 11:35pm On Nov 20, 2008
Dayo, you were analysing well until you messed it up with
metioning Ribery and Toni.

They rejuvenated Bayern? To do what? Win the bundesliga
and semi finals of the UEFA cup.

And Ronaldo? Led United to two premierships and 1 UCL.

The latter sounds better to me. Dont know about you.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 2:39pm On Nov 20, 2008
@ dayokanu,

They both played second string sides. England had players
you always say are total crap. Players like Downing, Bent
and co. Even if they have a few caps here and there, you're
always the first to say they are total crap.

Okay. Maybe you're saying Bent, Downing, Agbolahor, Defoe,
Bridge, Upson are better than the German players you listed.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 10:16am On Nov 20, 2008
@ dayokanu,

You have a talent for turning defence into attack. grin

You know me I wont allow you do that grin

The English squad was equally half baked.

Rio? Brown? Cole? Rooney? Lamps? Gerrard?

I can go on and on.

Portugal were shyte last night no doubt. So also was your
"lofty" Germany.
