@ naijaking1,

That's the point. Sure there are some African leaders
who are richer than Dangote but are not recognized.

That is why this is "news".
BusinessAliko Dangote Is The 334th Richest Man In The World! by akinalabi(op): 12:39am On Mar 07, 2008
Alhaji Aliko Dangote finally makes an appearance on
the prestigious rich list by Forbes.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7281637.stm

Love him or hate him, this man surely is a great Nigerian
worth looking up to.

He is reportedly worth $3.3 billion dollars and ranked
as the 334th richest man in the world well above Oprah
as well as the Glazer family.

TravelRe: Nigerian, Is It Must We Leave Our Country? by akinalabi(m): 2:53am On Mar 06, 2008
@ londoner,

You've just echoed my thoughts.

The "success" people achieve when they go abroad is
not as a direct result of the economy being better. (The
economy is better no doubt)

It is simply because of the attitude. A Nigerian gets to the
UK and finds out that he has to work very hard to make
ends meet. He finds no other choice so he begins to work
hard.

He rents a room, saves a lot, does overtime (nothing wrong
in all that). If such a person had put in such an amount of
effort in Nigeria, things could have been better for him.

UK is a great country. There is no question about that. I love
the fact that I can walk at midnight without the fear of armed
robbers and I'm yet to see a pot hole on the roads.

I like the fact that the infastructure works and I love the
fact that I can go to Old Trafford grin

But that is where it ends for me.

I know a few Brits planning to move to Ghana soon while
my "Charlie" brothers are in warehouses in the UK.

Success in life is not about location.

A couple of seasons ago, I was hoping Fergie would sign
Torres.

The lad is complete and he hasn't reached his best yet.

Liverpool will surely "enjoy" him for a long time to come.

Ronaldo was not rampant and was pretty much ineffective until his tap in goal, he found no joy down Clichy nd Sagna's end, his goal came from the middle due to Clichy's loss of concentration before all of that what other meaningful thing did he do (Aside his assist)
Is that not enough for a game of 90 minutes?

Bring on any team and Man Utd we will take them on.

This season's champions league is there for the taking
and I fancy our chance. A TREBLE in fact.

Great result for Arsenal and that, I hate to say it is a
lesson for Fegie. Too much respect for the opposition
in Europe will take us nowhere.

Arsenal's back were against the wall and they went all
out for it and deserved the win.

But why are arsenal fans having a heart attack? There
is no trophy for beating Milan. Arsenal fans sure like
irrelevant titles like unbeaten run, grooming "young"
players, only English team to beat Milan in Italy.

@ Chacal,

Why are you still waiting. The boy's more talented than
Fabregas. There is no question about that.

And did you say 3rd time?

He's done it 3 times already. Don't tell me you've forgotten
their duel when Anderson was still at Porto.

4 Play:
Whatever happens,Scholes shouldn't be starting any longer.
The reason why we have a big squad is to have the
luxury of rotating players and keeping everybody
fresh in this vital run in.

So Scholes WILL start some matches and others will
have their turns as well. It's a simple situiation.

Scholes is not a pacy player. Has never been. His
game is all about vision and his ability to marshal the
midfield without fuss and glamour.

He will start some, Carrick will start some, Anderson
will start some.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 1:04am On Mar 02, 2008
@ Chacal,

You know I love Scholes a lot.

Let me tell you a little story. . .

We were playing at Old Trafford a couple of months
ago. He wanted to pass to Anderson and Anderson
antipated the pass and made a run towards the right to
recieve the pass.

The chap that sat next to me (Had a funny accent)
mumured to himself -apparently refering to Anderson-
"You don't have to run. It's Paul Scholes. The pass will
get to you wherever you are."

The epitomises Scholesey's quality. We need such in
the vital run in.

@ presido1,

Don't worry about his excuses. All we need is the
title. He has succeeded in decieving the club's fans.

He is building. . . The players are young. . . They are
operating on a low budget. . .

I thought Jose Mourinho was "over talking" when he
said there is no pressure on Wenger and that he would
have been sacked if he was in charge in an ambitious club.

@ Chacal,

Scholes without the nasty tackles? Then it's no longer
Scholes. He is the king of mis timed tackles. grin

@ Chacal

Don't worry about Scholes. He's been a bit poor since he
came back but you know sometimes, payers find it difficult
when they come back from a long lay off.

Scholes is a class act and he will be like that till he retires. You
know his game does not rely on pace (like Giggs) so old age
won't really be a problem for him.

He's all about vision so he will be okay if his eyes don't have
problems grin

Ronaldo and Rooney will no doubt start on Tuesday. We're
going to hammer Lyon.

There is nothing slow in this. grin

Two weeks ago, they were 5 points ahead.

Today, after playing Birmingham and Villa at home (potential
6 points), they are now one point ahead.

What could be faster than that?

There is no other way to describe Arsenals season other
than disintegrating. The Milan game will determine where
their season is heading.

Today, we enjoyed -once again- the advantage of having
a large squad. Ronaldo, Rooney and Anderson are fresh for
the Lyon game.

I heard Scholesey was magnificient. Can't wait to see the
match later tonight.

It's obvious Fergie likes this Benzema guy. Did you
see the clips after the Lyon game. Fergie was all over
the boy.

Then Fergie loves doing something. . . Buying strikers.

As for the right back position, I'm certain he will do that
certainly. That however depends on Gary's injury.

PS: There are quite a few tickets of the Lyon game
available at viagogo (ticket exchange). Only been to
champions league games twice before. I should get my
own hat trick too. smiley

Eboue's tackle on Evra was worse and Hleb on Nani was as bad.

One thing about that incident was that if Eduardo's injury wasn't
that bad, no one would have seen Taylor's tackle as over the top.

Still can't believe we're still talking about Wes Brown.

Strange and crazy this will sound. . . I will feel more comfortable
with United playing with 10 men (without Brown) than with
11 with him.

And this is not a reaction to this contract wahala. I've always
felt like that.

I'll hate Fergie if he offers him a pound more than he's been
offered.

Precisely, most of these Northern teams live with the notion that the only way to stop Arsenal is to kick them off the park (I think the pundits started this trend) and trust the twats from up North to take it to another level, the likes of Bolton n Blackburn, i guess we can now add Birmingham to that list.

How can u explain

- Scum United kicking the life out of Reyes at OT
- Van Persie getting a concusion from an elbow after scoring against Blackburn in the FA Cup semis
- Diaby's breaking his ankle at Sunderland from another horific tackle
- Now Eduardo

You'all must admit Arsenal have always been target to this sort of treatment due to our style of play.
Let's not sensationalize the issue of getting physical
with arsenal. Getting physical is a good way to play
arsenal and there is nothing wrong with that.

Breaking people's legs is not acceptable because you
can get physical without such atrocities.

Chuckdee4. You have listed the situations where Arsenal
players were on the receiving end. What about when
Arsenal players were the ones dishing out such treatments?

There are so many instances and just a week ago or
so, Eboue would have torn Evra's knee apart. In the same
match, anything could have happened to Nani from the
tackles he got from Hleb.

It's just unfortunate that Eduardo's injury is so horrifc. There
have been worse tackles in the premiership, even from Arsenal
players.

There is a bad injury. . .

Everyone is distraught. . .

We wish he bounces back. . .

This is not about kicking arsenal. . . .

Life goes on. . .

Owen's lunge at Vidic yesterday was as bad as Taylor's

Before Arsenal's game, we lived in the fear of the
possibility of going 8 points behind before we kick
off against Newcastle. It wassn't a nice feeling.

Now we're 3 points behind. Not a bad day for us.

We're begining to enjoy (bit by bit) the benefits of
our strenght in depth. Three matches in a week and
we still have fresh legs in Hargo, Anderson, Giggs,
Ronaldo (was replaced on the hour), Scholes, Saha
and to an extent Carrick and Fletcher.

It's looking good.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by akinalabi(m): 4:30pm On Feb 23, 2008
We must cut the lead down to 3 points this evening.

Anything other than that means we are not ready to
win this league.

I feel bad about Dudu's injury. It reminds me of Smudge's
injury against Liverpool at Anfield in the FA cup a few
seasons ago.

But that's football. Things happen.
