Christianity Etc › God Predicted ICT Age - DoctorAlien by akintom(op): 11:21pm On Mar 17, 2017*. Modified: 11:45pm On Mar 17, 2017 |
DoctorAlien is a believer in creationist theory and apocalypse/eschatology. In defense of the Christian Bible and its claimed predictive accuracy, DoctorAlien believes that God Predicted ICT Age. Below is how far he went, in providing evidence of the claim. DoctorAlien: Premise 1: There is no gainsaying the fact that the Bible is always true. It has stood rigorous tests throughout the ages. It's history is well corroborated(not that it's needful, anyway), it's instructions has been proven to be the safeguard for peace and sanity in the society, IT'S PROPHECIES HAVE COME TO FULFILLMENT WITH UNBELIEVABLE ACCURACY . The candour with which Bible events were narrated is unparalleled. Uninspired historians often record their events with bias, making the main characters appear in the best light possible. But not so with the Spirit-inspired Word. The faults of its main characters are clearly stated, often more elaborately than their feats. Moreover, it has been proven that the Bible is devoid of contradictions. Indeed, the Bible is always true. How come this your Bible god didn't prophecy about this age of ICT? |

GodsMopol: Tongues can be imitated I know that quite alright, but the one I speak is different from those people can speak, I for once never learnt it, I was prayed for an I received it. if anyone fakes it, they are free to, but it won't accomplish that for which it was sent.
Many times like you say, when I don't have something to say, I switch to tongues, that's normal, I speak in tongues based on some reasons *God knows about my life better than I do, and there us a limit to what my understanding can say while praying, and not to talk about the endless repetition of the same prayer points over and over again, so lemme speak in tongues and I would address what I find very hard to address in understanding, via speaking in tongues, like I said, if its not tongues, its a sheer waste of time. its like you are investing so much in gathering goods which no one would certainly buy, that's how speaking in tongues without inspired utterance seem like w all of the above were stuff that the teachers of the Bible have over time indoctrinated you with. If you take your time to think through your life and all that which you have experienced, you'll know that all these stuff you swallowed without questioning, are mere human fabrications. GodsMopol: Personally, I sing some songs of which I really can't do even right now, I must be inspired, sometimes, I write some creative article which I can never tell how I was able to gather them, I have prayed for a particular guy in school and while praying for him, he was shaking, as in vibrations, while praying in tongues with him, recently I was with a friend and he was telling this lady, actually evangelism, and he was telling this ladies, things that no one could know except friends, bro, this things are real Have you heard of goosebumps? Have you asked yourself why folks pass out and become hysterical, when Micheal Jackson was performing? GodsMopol: the impossibilities without the Holy Ghost is righteousness, peace and joy, those are the ones I can say for now I have peace and joy, without holyghost, so what? Righteousness is religious word for moral. So, nothing is impossible without holyghost. |

tripplephi: lols bros you were schooled wrongly o
THE HOLYSPIRIT IS NOT FOR SELFCONTROL RATHER FOR LIFE-CONTROL
PLS IT IS RUDE TO UNDERESTIMATE THE HOLY SPIRIT O
ALL YOUR LOGIC IS USELESS COS THE ESSENCE OF THE HOLYGHOST IS NOTHING LIKE SELF CONTROL
How can God in HIS wisdom give us a holyspirit for what our human will can do... MORALITY is relative and doesn't impress GOD. you can abstain from all evils and still go to hell.
USE THE BIBLE NEXT TIME IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE HOLYSPIRIT.... in the OLD testament there was no HOLYSPIRIT and people still had self control. AM NOT A CHRISTIAN but I HAVE THE HOLYSPIRIT and he is so precious to me... HE EXPLAINS THE BIBLE TO ME AND EMPOWERS ME TO CONTROL LIFE AND ITS OUTCOMES.... so pls next time have relevant facts before speaking such things. What's the difference between your "self" and your "life"? |

Christianity Etc › Is There Any Difference Between Holy Spirit And Self Control? by akintom(op): 2:20pm On Mar 17, 2017 |
The Christians claim that Holy Spirit helps/empowers them to have self control, but a look at the logic below, the Holy Spirit turned out to be an irrelevant factor, as far as behavioural control mechanism is concerned.
If,
* Christian + self control = moral
* Non-Christian + self control = moral
But,
* Christian + self control + holy ghost = moral
* Christian - holy ghost + self control = moral
Hence,
* Holy ghost is irrelevant factor. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Collection Of Thought Patterns That Created God(s) Idea by akintom(op): 2:14pm On Mar 17, 2017 |
GodsMopol: I am not saying the Holy Ghost primary assignment is in the area of purity, there are many other things which the Holy Spirit does, like telling or showing us things to come, He also helps us pray as we should have prayed, The Holy Spirit helps us in our relationship with God in the sense that, He's a present help in time of need, but the truth is, the more time we spend with the Holy Spirit, the better our understand of who and what He has for us becomes, in other word, I would say, the Holy Spirit is a partner we understand overtime, but I believe one thing the Holy Spirit so much detest is sin. He's called Holy Spirit, a non Christian can lead a sinless life without the Holy Spirit, there are many possibility outside the Holy Spirit, and there are many impossibilities outside the Holy Spirit, Shalom * you know what you desire before you pray, so you don't need the holyghost. But if you don't know what you want, you can decide to speak gibberish (tongues), which many non-Christian can do. * what can of help does holyghost help you with? * what are the impossibilities without holyghost? |

limamintruth: Alright, I really don't fancy discussing biblical issues with persons who don't even believe in the Holy Bible to begin with. This is because my answers are strictly dependent upon biblical principles which you do not believe in. So hope you can see the dilemma there? It's akin to beating an already dead horse.
However, I'll leave you with the following:
Romans 6:1&2 "Shall we then continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?"
Galatians 5:13 "For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."
2 Timothy 2:19 "Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,”and, “Everyone who names/confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from iniquity.” Modified: Note that it is important to make God your priority and don't waste time scrutinizing how others do theirs. Your direction should come from His word entirely, and not from a mortal man that is prone to imperfections. tnx. It's ok, thanks for your response. |

GodsMopol: the Holy Ghost helps our infirmities, Paul said, give no place to the devil, in other sense, the Holy Ghost could keep you from sinning, but when the devil comes with his fiery darts, you need to be equipped to know, Paul said, we are not ignorant of his vices, another said, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against spiritual wickedness in high places, the truth is, any of this things, if we ignorantly ignore their ability to hurt us, the devil would capitalize on it, moreso, I can't guarantee a spirit filled and tongue speaking Christian of the ability of not falling into sin, we are all human, we many times, yeild to the flesh than to the spirit, the Holy Spirit is there to help, we can refuse his help and he won't struggle with us, and pufff, we have sinned, but John said, if any man sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous, so come back to God and God would forgive you How are you Christians, now different from non-Christians, on the issue of behavioural control? If, * Christian + self control = moral * Non-Christian + self control = moral But, * Christian + self control + holy ghost = moral * Christian - holy ghost + self control = moral Hence, * Holy ghost is irrelevant factor. |

GodsMopol: many times, okay, yesterday, I was checking a list of movies at a sales outlet and I could barely find one without my mind telling me that there would be n*de contents on them, and later I logged into the front page of nl and I saw many xrated posts which I don't feel is good to the view of a Christian, it might affect their spiritual stand with God, many are not really as strong as that, many are still guiding their salvation with all diligence, and if sites like that which promote clean post and non provoking post can come up, it would be a good ground for Christians What's the use of the holyghost you claim to have and that empowers you to control your urge? If what your eyes see and your ears hear, is now such a problem for you folks. I guess you guys will have to first kill your mind and bury it, if you want to escape sensual/sensuous stimuli. |

Christianity Etc › Re: It's Wrong For A Christian To Be A Gynecologist - Christian by akintom(op): 12:29pm On Mar 17, 2017 |
limamintruth: The answer to your question above is dependent on whether or not clubhouse business is a pure/clean/godly venture. And based on my opinion as I earlier stated, it is not.
Thus, is it right for the church to accept tithe gotten from the proceeds of such a business venture? Simply put, it is NOT right. As the Holy Bible puts it, "Who can bring what is pure/holy from the impure/unholy? No one. (Job 14:4)". Remember, you can neither bribe nor mock God i.e you cannot be working contrary to His principles and then turn around to offer him proceeds from your unholy acts. The Bible further says the sacrifice of a sinner is abomination unto God.
BTW, are you an atheist? Because I don't get the first sentence of your last paragraph. Since you have Christians, who own businesses that conflicts the bible commandments, but gets other bible verses to rationalize the businesses as not sinful via "grace covering exegesis". What does this say of the whole idea of Christian religion? I just reject the belief that the Bible is literarily true. |

limamintruth: We are saying the same thing then. However there is nothing sinful or wrong in being a male gynaecologist. That is a noble profession that seeks to save lives by rendering medical services to the female folk. All that matters is to be truly God fearing and always work in utmost good faith. With thread like this, am just probing into the dynamics and possible variables of the religious minds. Eliciting responses via thread like this, helps in psychoanalysing the religious minds. Now, in case you hold the Christian Bible to be literarily true, what do you think of Christians, who own clubhouse, occupy leadership positions in churches and pay tithes on the proceeds from the clubhouse. |

THE CENTURION SOLDIER didnt stop being a soldier o.... hope u see the difference... WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY.
A CHRISTIAN CAN WORK IN A BEER PARLOUR but NOT own it... cos WORKING does not involve drinking.... its only when HE OWNS IT THEN THAT MEANS HE SUPPORTS IT.
CHRISTIANS OWN HOTELS... they wont allow prostitutes there but if you bring one in.... they will not stop you. ITS ALL about VALUES.... In summary, a Christian becomes a sinner, if he owns a clubhouse. |

limamintruth: You can't compare being a doctor and operating a nightclub bro. Nightclubs promote ungodliness such as drunkenness, prostitution e.t.c. In all, the intent matters most. Thus, if ever there is a nightclub that is purely for relaxation purpose, and that does not promote immorality or the intake of substances capable of causing drunkenness & other mental misbehaviour; then, such nightclub can't be termed as unholy venture. But we know that is not the case with virtually all nightclubs. I can put it to you, that a Christian commits sin if he owns clubhouse. |

Pidgin2: This is a sensitive topic. As a Christian, my personal opinion remains that it is very wrong for a male believer to be a gynecologist
1) Examining the breast of a woman that is not your wife as a heterosexual male is wrong 2) Examining the private parts of a female that isn't your wife is totally wrong 3) Some male doctors develop feelings for their patients and vice versa 4) Our sight is a gateway to temptation 5) If a woman examines the private parts of a male patient how will he feel, assuming he has a wife, how will she feel?
I can go on but let me stop here, it is wrong and no religions supports it |
