What you see in that picture is a large department of corruption in Nigeria. The same way we turned blind eye to petty misconducts among public officials and it festered to become a monster called corruption today ; if we are not careful, religion and its leaders would grow bigger than that and we may not be able to contain or curtail it. Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gunpowder. |
[quote author=Slynonny post=34896812]My House Boy Sorry Husband Buhari the Daura President is a failure to MANHOOD. #Aisha_Buhari_d_Prostitute.[/quote Please express your anger about the government anyhow since speech is free but allow your comments to have "human face, human heart and milk of kindness". There would be consequences for slander, libel and treasonable posts someday. |
cramjones:Believe me, what we have here is not democracy but kakistocracy; a government under the control of worst persons. When will nigeria wake up to the realities of the 21st century ? |
INTROVERT:The prayer of the unrighteous ( the corrupt, wicked and oppressor, etc ) is an abomination before God. These politicians must first seek the face of good by repenting and making restitution to the oppressed masses of nigeria for all their loot. |
TerrorSquad:Hmm, calling the president of the country a "terrorist" is a criminal use of freedom of speech to commit treasonable felony. Guys, please tread softly on nairaland because there would be consequences someday. |
twoondei:That was true in the days of king david of israel and not in the 21st century. No sensible government would wait for a god to protect its city ( country). Nigerians must get real and stop living under biblical illusions. |
Osun state workers would not be on the bench whenever kashamu's case comes up in the US court. |
Guys, please tread cautiously in the public domain. There would be consequences for derogatory views sometime. |
I hope my people can see the difference between Ambode's outfit in that picture and of those public officials obsessed with agbada and babariga plus the sky-touching native caps. This is not a matter of culture but of smartness, agility and readiness to do a job. Imagine seeing a danfo or cab driver in babariga while on duty. Sounds amusing ? |
Someday, there would be consequences for the conduct of these smellfungi and mumpsimuses posting derogatory views about about officials of the nigerian government on this platform. Just an advice to those involved to tread cautiously. |
Trust me, some guys on nairaland would hate this news to high heaven. And it is not a good one for them getting close to bedtime , a nightmare. |
atlwireles:Kumuyi and other pastors are still making nigerians poor by promoting ignorance, laziness and greed in the society; and by colluding with politicians to pauperize the citizenry. I am sure there will be consequences someday. |
hensben:Well said. Many nigerians, especially on nairaland believe that prayer is a substitute for good governance, patriotism and hardwork .They got it twisted. |
Could this be an act of vengeance? These days some pastors are worse than armed robbers. RIP to the departed souls. |
Unholy speculations. |
twoondei:Yes, things are bad here because ignorance is ruling the lives of our people . |
stobery:Forgiveness is a poison. Let every man account for his actions and face the rewards. |
If this has happened to a member of the church , the pastor would have told his relatives that the kidnapped member has not been praying enough or has not been paying his tithe as commanded by God. Wicked and shameless pastors. The day of reckoning is here. |
Exploit200:Having seen your style of writing and the language used, i have decided to forgive you and others like you because you " do not know what you are doing". Ignorance is a poison. |
There would be consequences for hateful posts on the social media sometime. Those who have ears let them hear. |
Africa (nigeria) and their blind mentality of forgiveness. No wonder the continent is going down while the west continues to grow in prosperity. Until we begin to reward goodness and punish 'wrongness' in nigeria, we may never experience anything good as a nation. |
pretty235:Only the tribe of levi is forbidden to work outside the vineyard of God. So, the congregation should encourage their pastor to stop scamming them and get a job and a life , unless he can provide genuine evidence that he is from the tribe of levi in Israel. |
BigElEddy:I think we need more of this type of discourse to set many free from the bondage of wicked pastors. |
Rather than steal or scam the congregation, God allows his annointed to work outside the church to legitimately earn a living. Only one tribe in israel is forbidden to work outside the vineyard of god. Or does it mean that all nigerian pastors come from that tribe? I don't think so. |
Ignorance is a major reason why people die early in nigeria. Both the leaders and the governed are ignorant in many ways. Other reasons are fear, stress, religion , culture and traditions. The case of the deaths from alcohol consumption comes to mind here. The affected natives believed it was their gods that were angry until science proved otherwise. Other causes of early death may just be derivatives of the above mentioned. |
BigElEddy:Well said. No one has monopoly of violence or nuisance. Nigerians are too docile and this explains why the powerful and the arrogant have continually harassed and impoverished them. Unless people repel confrontation such as the churches making noise, their condition may never change for better. Instead of murmuring, nigerians must learn to raise their voice when they complain. |
freethinker01:An eye for an eye is what made developed societies what they are today. In the US for instance, if you contravene a law or you commit an offence, it is almost sure you would be arrested and fined, cautioned or jailed to serve as a deterrent. But in nigeria, we beg and ask to be forgiven and let go after such contraventions. Therefore ,while their society is progressing, ours is retrogressing simply because we always forgive and indirectly promote impunity. And for those who preach tolerance, it is good but it must have limits . Finally, it is an eye for an eye that has sustained the nation of Israel till today. |
Since our authorities are not doing much to protect the weak and the gentle, there is nothing wrong if the "gentle" defends or protects himself from oppression by some greedy, overzealous and inconsiderate pastors and their gullible followers as long as he does it within the confines of the law. |
madridguy:But a wrong can prevent or correct a wrong. For instance, if some hoodlums are harassing your neighbor with the intention of coming to your house next to rob you ; instead of hiding, you could fire a gun if you have one and its legal. This may scare them and cause them to flee. |
Standing5:So which one of them is more dangerous to our society , the pastor or the politician? |
kazmanbanjoko:Well, you are partially correct. Imams are part of the scam but pastors are the pilots of the scheme. It is a wicked world we are living in. No wonder the bible says that ...it shall be taken from the poor and given to the rich..... |
tpacalipse:They are not physically forced the way you can openly see it. But the desperate pastors use diabolical means , powerful words and scare tactics to exhort money from their followers, just like the police. Imams are less guilty but they are also stakeholders in the dirty ' industry ' |
