From reliable sources, the new deputy might be defecting to Apc soon. |
In civilised climes, no matter how fast or far an offender runs, the long arms of the law will eventually catch him. Kashamu may have some respite now, it won't be long before justice would corner and confront him. There can be no peace for the "wicked" , so says the lord . Same goes for all those who have been molesting and criminally impoverishing nigerians. |
Hero10001:The government has a primary responsibility of protecting its people and educating the ignorant. I will leave readers to figure out the rest. |
Hero10001:Death is inevitable but some causes of death are preventable especially in poor societies like ours where ignorance still rules the psyche and mentality of many |
litetias:Babies, the aged ,the weak and the sick also sleep during the day and they all deserve our consideration. Some hospitals are located near worship centers and they also need protection from greedy pastors, imams and overzealous worshippers. . |
The most effective way of reducing or stopping crimes is giving maximum punishment to proven offenders. Our courts must be rejiged to perform their functions effectively if we are serious about curbing crimes in our society. |
Many Nigerians still gullibly believe much in the endless powers of prayer to right a wrong or to bring a dead thing back to life as in the days of old. We must begin to get real by realising that prayer is a spriritual tool and its not meant to address all life's physical challenges. Our pastors must begin to be honest with their followers by telling them that there is no sure substitute for integrity, honesty, mental capability , persistence and hardwork for anyone who desires success in life. And those pastors should confess to their members that the concept of forgiveness of sins in the bible has no place in present day social and justice systems. That is the reason why the constitution and other law books are more important than the bible or quran in our regular courts. But dreamers can still continue to dream if they so wish . |
FOLYKAZE:Good and welcome development. The next thing I am appealing to the government to ban is the use of loud speakers by worship centers. |
FOLYKAZE:The federal government should also ban the use of loud speakers by religious worship centers. This menace is quietly destroying the health of many nigerians. |
Nigerians are not good learners of etiquette. We hate being corrected or being taught new things that would enhance our social life. The grown ups are the most culpable. |
These pastors should stop commenting on national issues because they can no longer be trusted as being reliable leaders judging by their antecedents. They are a big part of nigeria's woes. |
I think funke should sue the garrulous prophet. Even if this is going to be so, it should not be a message for public consumption. Am sorry for Nigerian pastors for their aggravated ignorance. Having a baby these days has become a matter of choice and time especially for those who are rich and educated like akindele because the world is presently awash with medical options. These ignorant so called pastors must be taught how to respect the privacy of others and how not to be a public nuisance. Bunch of lazy buffoons. |
The two guys look superb in those dresses. Bygone to ridiculous flowing gowns called agbada or babarigas. My dreams come true. Thank God for Nigeria. |
Lucasbalo:You are correct. Religion has been used for centuries as a weapon of oppression and enslavement. Most advanced countries today were once religious nations but they rescued themselves at a point when they realized it was a scam. Pastors and their ilks use religion as a scare tactic to intimidate and exploit their congregation for self enrichment. Religion and poverty are deadly twin brothers. Having suffered in the hands of politicians, nigerians do not deserve the raw deal they are being given by these ' gods of men ' called pastors. |
Nigerians have been irredeemably scammed by politicians and pastors. What a pity. |
cramjones:I sincerely share your views on this issue. I have severally advised posters on this forum to engage in constructive criticism instead of hateful and destructive posts ( you may wish to refer to the posts ). Having said this, i think the moderators have a lot to do in checking these excesses. If they continue to feign ignorance of the possible future consequences, it might become too unpleasant for nairaland to bear when it eventually happens. I dont want to believe that this forum is on autopilot. |
kettykings:The word 'fools' is too strong to use in this context. You can simply give your advice to the authorities as a well-meaning nigerian without being indecent. |
What we have in ekiti presently is kakistocracy . I doubt if the people actually deserved this. Very sad for ekiti state. |
This is the way i like our officials to dress to work; simple, clean and smart. I think we've had enough of those expensive but unimpressive and heavy flowing gowns which often hinder ability or agility and potray our officials as unserious on the job. Good one by Ambode. I wish more of them will emulate him. |
klax:Please, my advise is to all well-meaning and cerebral nigerians who truly want prosperity for the nation and not to everyone on this forum. |
I am advising nigerians, especially those on nairaland to begin to view issues objectively and comment on them constructively rather than emotionally or destructively. It is by so doing that we can together take our country to greater heights. Since the politicians have succeeded in deceiving nigerians to impoverish us , we must not help them by deceiving ourselves. |
lorddubic:The best solution that has been tested is as follows. Buy 2 or 3 horn speakers, connect to your home theater and point them in the direction of the noise-making church. Start to play some LOUD ISLAMIC MUSIC before and throughout their worship . Within 7 days, the church will approach you for an "amicable settlement". This is cheaper than personally confronting them and it is more effective. You can sell the speakers after concluding the operation. You can never regret taking this action. |
mikolo80:This is the best solution to the problem. Buy some horn speakers and connect to your home theatre, point it to the direction of the church or mosque and produce more noise . If the culprit is a church, play loud islamic music, and vice versa. You can never regret trying it and it costs you less than personally confronting them. You can resell the speakers after the entire operations. |
The press and other organizations will rise against this law and that might lead to its being repealed eventually. The public must also not keep quiet over this because the law has abused the sensibilities of all well meaning nigerians. The civilized world must not hear of it... !!! |
Pavore9:Right to worship, yes. Right to violate the peace of others, NO. We must begin to explain these terms to enlighten the ignorant. The last thing most nigerians care about is their health and this may explain the reason for the low life expectancy in the society. |
omenka:Noise pollution is a societal vice that is capable of destroying lives but the advantages of confronting it far outweighs the negative reactions from the adherents. For the general good of the people, pollution of all forms must be legislated against and such laws must be strictly enforced. |
This is an area where our government and the people are failing. While most people are ignorant of the dangers posed by noise pollution, the government is afraid to confront the menace. I raised a petition on change.org to call the attention of our authorities to this malady but Nigerians refused to sign the petition. This monster will destroy the health and peace of our people if something definite is not done as soon as possible. |
naptu2:Please to whom can i report in ogun state? |
The flood situation is worse than that at sango-ota, Ogun state. |
PointB:Did you really mean to call him that derogatory name? If so we do not yet have future leaders in this country judging from the way today's youths address their best leaders and adore the worst of them. |
The same old nigerian attitude. If someone is disputing another person's opinion ( or accusation ) , it is reasonable to do so by supporting your own 'correct' claim with facts and figures to convince the reading and listening public. We need to get real in our conducts if this country will make progress . |
To most of the posts on this topic, i think that generally, nigerians urgently need moral reorientation as most of the comments are laden with words of indiscipline, hate and recklessness. Most of our moral , social and national values have been eroded over time. Nigeria cannot continue like this if we must prosper. |

? Can't they pray on their own without disturbing peoples sleep?
