Politics › Re: Senator Natasha Warns INEC Against Delaying Service Of Recall Petition, Accuses by Akpakomiza2: 10:44am On Mar 29, 2025 |
Blazetrailer: Did you read INEC's press conference on the recall? INEC admitted that the petitioners all had 1 address which is enough to throw it out but INEC foolishly accepted it as a valid petition anyway. The law is that you would have to verify that all the signatories to the petition live in that senatorial zone. How would that be done when there is only one address(that of the lead petitioner)?
Why do you think INEC is reluctant to forward the complete petition to her? They have goofed.
Even if it goes on, she will win in court. That is why her lawyers are confident to write INEC to proceed with the next step of the process which INEC is footraggong on after messing up Sorry sir, inec was asking of the address of the representatives not all the 250k petitioners. Inec said only their leader had an address which isn't clear while others did not input an address. This is not enough to throw away the petition sir. It needed a correction. Inec is to fix a date to go to her district and verify the signature not the addresses or where there are. Inec is not bound or compelled to give her a copy of the petition, it is not a court case. She can only go to court after the recall process and the court will rule in 2027 when she's gone |

Blazetrailer: This woman is bold and she is well advised. I like it
This INEC is the most useless I have ever seen. It does not even hide its bipartisanship.
They will make a blunder if they mistakenly serve her a notice of recall because the petition gathered have been seen to be ficticious even by INEC themselves. What the laws says is that it should be rejected but INEC admitted it and wrote her a letter to inform her.
By that action, they have played into her hands. That is why her lawyers are bold to ask for official notification from INEC. As it is, that process must go on and if she is eventually recalled and it umis taken to court after, she will win easily and the whole recall would be overturned.
If INEC suddenly stop at this stage it would have succeded in ridiculing itself as a body that did not follow its own rules and the laws How is the petition fictitious? If she wins in court, that would be during the election period |

fergie001: Fubara and/or the PDP needs a miracle to retain that State at every level.
The thing is the APC needs one of Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and Akwa Ibom, they need that oil money and they have battled for it for long. One of these Govs will defect to the APC before 2027. The oil in Edo, ondo, imo is almost 75% of what is produced in bayelsa/rivers |

Una no well. The immunity should remain for those four persons. I remember how Lawan and Gbajabiamila smuggled immunity for Presiding Officers in the last alteration Bill and it failed.
Anyways, I trust our Governors, they are always united in this kind of things The president is the Alpha so we must have his way. It is a way of telling the governors to bow to him or see shege |

ElevationD: You see yourself? So to you, rigging has human face. So when APC won in Osun state and Buhari used the words “ remote control”, the rigging had human face? No wonder this country is in this pit. Well done . The gap was narrow sir meaning both where popular and rigging was minimal. Under PDP, the gap would have been very wide and ridiculous. Check the gap when Oyinlola won Akande in 2003 and Aregbe in 2007. The truth is that we are progressing and rigging is reducing |

ElevationD: Now na APC get power. Like the proverbial monkey that was given water to drink with a cup, who will retrieve the cup? Now they have become not only masters of rigging, but masters of backing corruption. You see life? You can't compare the rigging and corruption now to that of pdp era. APC dey learn work, they rig with human face. Infact, rigging is more difficult nowadays. Pdp used to rig even before elections where conducted, announced results before voting started. Nowadays, votes are counting more hence the spate of vote buying |

The only way it will come from Southsouth is if they are planning to appoint Wike’s cousin who is the Edo REC as chairman of the commission.
If not, I can bet my left testicles that Tinubu will appoint a Yoruba man.
Ordinarily Yes but he is looking at optics.... No President has picked a Chair from his Zone. They can't appoint a Yoruba or Wike cousin. They will appoint someone neutral |

And when you need to talk about rigging, first take a close look at APC to understand it. Again do not forget that Buhari once said that APC won Osun state that year by remote control. If the sitting President could say that, why do you a bloody citizen, want to look for what is by your side? Pdp started rigging, there are the masters of mindless rigging. APC dey learn work. The 2007 rigging is unrivalled, Iwu is in the hall of infamy |
