ddippset: I know some people will ask if they know more than the Supreme Court justices and I will say "Yes there is a possibility"
The Supreme Court does not necessarily comprise the most brilliant judges in the country, it is basically a panel of the most senior judges in the country.
We all went to school and we all know that for instance the most brilliant student in SS 2 might be more intelligent than at least 90 percent of the students in SS3.
So yes there are very many Appeal Court and High Court judges who could be more intelligent than some of the Supreme Court judges.
If you read carefully what this panel of 11 judges has said, you will understand that the Supreme Court was clearly biased in it's judgement. In what aspect |
Politics › Re: Court Reserves Judgment On Defection Case Against 27 Rivers Lawmakers by Akpakomiza2: 8:58am On Mar 18, 2025 |
Mumusaphire: What happened to this judgement? The Supreme Court on Friday, April 14, ordered an Ondo State lawmaker, Ifedayo Abegunde, representing Akure South/North Federal Constituency, to vacate his seat following his defection from Labour Party (LP) to the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
A Seven-man panel of Justices of the court, headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, declared that Abegunde is not fit to remain at the legislative house, noting that the lawmaker acted illegally by abandoning the party that sponsored his election.
It said that the lawmaker’s defection to another party would have been justified if there was a division in the national structures of the LP, such that is capable of impeding the smooth operation of the party.
The Supreme Court stated that the “division” or “factionalisation” of Labour Party, which was cited by the lawmaker as his excuse for abandoning the party, was only at the state level.
Abegunde was elected into the parliament on the platform of the ruling Labour Party (LP) in the April 2011 general elections, but defected to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) after a few months in the House.
Labour Party subsequently began a recall process against him and approached the court to sack the decampee lawmaker in order for the party to reclaim his seat.
The lawmaker also filed a counter motion seeking judicial protection against his recall by the Ondo State House of Assembly. Copied
So supreme court can shot themselves for leg due to who knows who abi? In this case, Abegunde agreed that he defected but stated that it was because of division at state level |

casppyjay: this whole shit none of my business though just reading through as as usual but ur comment caught my attention so bad because my 4 decades on earth already gave me an extensive discerning prowess.. you can’t penalise someone from receiving a school certificate from a university that will later have their license revoked.. same way it will be wrong to penalise a person operating or carrying out functions directed by an higher authority and doing so in good fate.. can you be arrested because your landlord built his house from crime proceeds? I just want you to think.. if as at the time in question there wasn’t any nullification then the only thing can be reversed appointments but not expenditures.. Constitutionally, it is illegal to present budget to 4 members. One high court legitimized it and another ruled against it |

ElevationD: Mr. Akpakomiza, did he get approvals from the courts or not, in the first place? All are illegalities so in the eyes of the law, it never happened sir. |
Politics › Re: Rivers Assembly calls on EFCC to investigate SSG, Tammy Danagogo by Akpakomiza2: 7:05pm On Mar 17, 2025 |
ElevationD: The SSG absolutely made no error bro.
The Governor presented the budget to the then court recognized members of the state assembly. They passed it into law. The allocation to the SSGs office was given for use. How is it his fault please?
Amaewhule and his group first requested Fubara to present the list of commissioners, having refused to recognize the existing commissioners. That included the SSG. Fubara did. How have they now turned around to request for an SSG that they claimed was non existent in their foolishness?
Unfortunately for the misled cowards, all that Amaewhule did were backed up courts. How have they overlooked that?
Greed has completely overtaken Amaewhule. Now he desperately intends to remove the governor deputy, giving himself room to become the temporary governor of the state, spending the same money that he accuses others of embezzling.
Breeze go blow and we go see fowl yansh. I foresee the end, very soon, of the desperation of Wike and his spoonfed legislators. When will you stop with this lawless advice? Every appropriation and appointment done by fubara from 2024 as declared by SC is null and void |

fergie001: A window to further rope him in. Part of his problems at the SC was the suit he withdrew after Tinubu's intervention. His last card is the suit at the FHC, and I know Obile will adjourn till eternity. Wike said Fubara can only appeal to God. The help they can render him is make him lame-duck till 2027. At the worse, they want his head.... He has crossed the Rubicon already. I will see what his decision will be after most likely 7/3.
He has moved to LP. Ikpeazu is destroying Abia PDP. I heard Efcc has rearraigned T.A. orji... With the state CJ with fubara, he can't be impeached. It seems Wike would field Magnus in 2027 |

At the centre of this is 2031, not even 2027. So he should keep fighting and get buried? It's over, he has to surrender so as to have a smooth ride to 2027 or better still resign.. Ambode and Tinubu was different. 2031 fight is still far away. The house has given fubara a small window, he should take it... The house of assembly member representing isialangwa south was suspended |

Going forward, fubara has to retrace his steps and seek for a political solution even if it means begging wike. The apex court judgment was a total destruction. AMINDA: So we are now celebrating 30% in a Southern State from a Southern President. With the noise that Akpabio makes, one would think he delivered his State to the APC. Alas, he was beaten black and blue by Atiku. Atiku won Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom but our so-called Southern candidate can only manage to win Rivers in the entire Southsouth, 4 out of 6 states in the Southwest and none at all in the Southeast. The North made Tinubu President. Akwa ibom is a state pdp usually gets bloc votes but Atiku won narrowly. Atiku won bayelsa with 10k margin, another state he cleared in 2019. Tinubu buried him in rivers, Edo and CRS. Tinubu defeated atiku in SE SS. |
