Who would he narrowly win it to? Tinubu? Muslim-Muslim ticket will offer the President no political advantage in 2027, and it might even be a liability for him amongst the Northern Christians who would prefer he drops Shettima and pick a Christian. PDP is still very strong amongst the Christian North and they have no misgivings voting Atiku having voted him twice before in the past against Buhari.

Tinubu is getting more unpopular amongst the muslim North as the days go by. The fact that the opposition that APC seems to be facing for now is in-house through the likes of Elrufai, should make them very jittery. Obi and Atiku have not even entered the 2027 conservation yet. The state of the economy will also be a factor and Tinubu might end up getting less votes generally than he got the last time.
As it stands, Tinubu will win the Christian north and middle belt. Core north will still be divided. El rufai is not relevant electorally

Lol. If the President's strategy is to replace Northern Kaduna votes or better yet, Northern Muslim votes with Southern Kaduna or Northern Christian votes, then he has already lost the election. In 2023, Northern muslims splitted their votes between Tinubu (a southerner) and Atiku (a Northerner and a collusus in his own right). The Northern Christians and indeed, Southern Kaduna largely voted Obi in protest of the Muslim-Muslim ticket. Traditionally, Southern Kaduna have always voted PDP, they have never voted APC before now.

The President is fast loosing his Northern Muslim base and if these numbers are added to Atiku's, then the President will lose even if he gets Southern Kaduna votes (which as at today, is still not guaranteed). He should have found a way to keep his Northern base while still wooing the Northern Christian minorities. He hasn't done that. Right now, he's just replacing one for the other which is a strategic mistake.

Below are the numbers for Kaduna and how the two regions in the country voted. Like it or not, the North delivered Tinubu in 2023 because he lost Lagos and Osun in his region and generally didn't win the South. You can do the maths.
Atiku can only win the core north narrowly

No sir, in the eyes of the law, rivers has 32 members. In the constitution, rivers assembly is mentioned as 32 sir. The constitution never envisaged that a vacuum where the house will have 3 members for over 3 months will occur.

There is another case before the FHC in Port Harcourt which will most likely rule against the "27", the case now re-commences again and before you know it, its 2027.

What is going on in Kaduna state. Seems the Southern Kaduna politicians in that state are abandoning PDP ship and joining APC.
Yes, because of the friendly policies and politics of Tinubu. He is from zangon kataf which is the largest part of Southern kad zone alongside chikun and the rep for chikun has decamped since. These two lgas give bloc votes against APC in the past. Southern Kaduna is the most anti APC area in the north alongside Jos south but because of Tinubu's reforms, they are defecting to APC which is unprecedented.

They don't vote based on performance but based on three factors which are religious liberality, marginalization and security and Tinubu alongside Gov Uba Sani has satisfied these factors. These zone will vote APC for the first time.2027 will be a walkover

Well, the post rightly said Falana is a human rights lawyer so he should concentrate on that aspect. He has no business with constitutional law. The constitution clearly specifies that only a quorum can conduct business and a quorum is one third of the entire house which is 11. Infact, a house or seating made up of only a quorum can only take limited decisions

Is it one polling unit that PDP allege but the only witness presented by APC has agreed there was over voting in his own unit and they refused to present more witnesses to counter PDP claim that over voting were done in about 133 polling units with evidence tendered in court but INEC and APC could not counter the claim. If you call only one witness and emhe admitted there was over voting in his place and you choose not to call more witnesses, it means you have agreed that over voting took place in those other places PDP alleged because the result sheet, BVAS extract and other documents certified by INEC including IREV showed it as well.
PDP did not prove any overvoting. The records they brought did not match when APC presented bvas extracts. The witnesses pdp brought fumbled as they were not in the polling units. You failed woefully

The documentary evidence presented by the PDP candidate with the certified true copies all from INEC and as required by law, the Electoral Act, INEC guidelines and recent supreme Court judgment on non compliance, over voting, non serialization as written, physical BVAS also presented including BVAS extract and proven by PDP witnesses, judiciary must do the right thing this time. PDP must be declared winner after the right computation is done and all over voting cancelled and proper collation is done units where votes recorded were in compliance with BVAS figures. PDP must win this case except no political party will contest with APC again henceforth because they will continue to print 3 different result sheet and fill a separate one for APC and declare the real one on the field. This is shameful. INEC staff who manipulated Edo election especially Wike's cousin and REC should go to prison.
Stop talking rubbish. So pdp haven't done computation and you expect the court to do that for you? The court have stated severally that documents can only be given life by oral witnesses or documents. Submitting documents alone is not enough, you must bring their makers who must speak to them and relate them to the particulars of the case. PDP failed to do this and your case failed. You brought bvas and dumped them on the court without expatiating on their import

“ Aziegbemin emphasized that PDP’s legal strategy was lazer-focused on 765 polling units where over-voting and other infractions occurred. “The principle is simple,” he stated. “The Electoral Act is clear—when the number of votes surpasses accredited voters, the result is invalid. Today, APC’s own witness confirmed our argument.”

He further noted that if illegally inflated results were removed, and lawful votes correctly collated, Ighodalo would emerge as the legitimate winner. He also questioned APC’s legal approach, suggesting that presenting just one witness—who admitted to non-compliance with the Electoral Act—was an act of desperation”.

That’s the matter Akpakomiza.

Call to mind that just two days ago, Idahosa stated the same as above? However he claimed that the affected results from those contentious units had been cancelled, as prescribed by law.

Going from the claim of PDP in their petition, the results were not cancelled in those 765 units, but used to rack up APC’s claimed votes.

We know per the Supreme Court in the case of Obi, that BVAS machines are required in the court, when submitting evidences for the purpose of certifying results. INEC submitted the machines and closed their defence.

Let’s see what happens with the tribunal at the next sitting tomorrow.
You are a very funny person. You support pdp in one breath and later claim neutrality.imagine you telling me what the matter is as if you know it more than me. You are following the matter through a pdp source who wasn't in the court while I follow directly from court or from a neutral source. Obi vs tinubu case was harder than this. Stop being confused.Aziegbemi is pdp chair, what did you expect him to say? He isn't even from Ovia south west and the deputy governor Idahosa who is from there and present during the actual collation told you what happened and you are doubting. The APC witness also confirmed same thing.PDP brought this during their presentation and it was shut down.

I told you pdp will lose. They made a claim about results of some units where overvoting being collated. Have there been able to collate it? Are there not supposed to compute or collate results and show that those cancelled results where included? Why all these baseless claims? Why are they now bringing it through the APC witnesses to deceive the gullible people.. pdp are only making claims they cannot prove. Claims or allegations are not evidence. The entire burden of proof is on the petitioner and not the defence. With pdp failing to prove anything, APC need not bother themselves. Even if the defence witness admits guilt, it will amount to nothing.

Concerning the Bvas, The court have always stated that you cannot submit evidence or document in court without demonstrating, linking or tying it to your case. Again, you must do so via the maker of the document or through an expert or someone familiar with the evidence and in this case Inec where supposed to be called. Did pdp do that? No, they just dumped it on the court expecting the judges to come and operate the Bvas. Lol. The case is dead

How Okpebholo’s witness crashed Ighodalo’s case

By John Mayaki

Yesterday, a handful of the remnant supporters of Ause Ighodalo were “high on something” over the testimony of Senator Monday Okpebholo’s witness, Usman Majek, from Usen in the Ovia South-West Local Government Area who admitted that there was over-voting in his unit but that INEC cancelled the result.

The witness who testified before the governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja has simply done the damage on Ighodalo’s petition unknowingly to his motley supporters because this testimony weakens Ighodalo’s case. I know you will ask me how?

I have covered election petitions for the past two decades and I understand what it means when a respondent agrees to the petitioner’s allegation of over-voting but also stating that the result was canceled. Now, can over-voting in one unit alone, as in this case, enough to cancel the entire election? The answer is NO.

Don’t forget that the petitioner’s case was built around widespread over-voting and that it affected the outcome of the election - be it substantially or minimally. And so, if INEC already cancelled the results in affected areas such as in the polling unit of Usman Majek, then over-voting had no impact on the final declared results. Over-voting has been addressed by INEC.

What the tribunal would look at is the final certified result and also consider whether unlawful votes were included in the final figure - don’t forget that the petitioner must show over-voting was widespread - you can’t do that with 19 witnesses and without evidence that it was large scale, and enough to affect the declared winner, the petition would collapse.

Now, what happened yesterday is this - the tribunal was told that INEC already followed due process by canceling unwanted results and that became a reinforcement for the legitimacy of the election. INEC worked correctly by identifying and rectifying irregularities - it’s as simply as that.

It is therefore an illusion of victory when in reality, the admission of Okpebholo’s witness weakens their case. This is the definition of a people who want to see what they want to see instead of what actually exists in reality.

Since the petitioner and the respondent agreed that INEC cancelled over-voting, have they not indirectly validated the credibility of the election process?

These are people that declared their defection on a live tv and they were welcomed by the state chairman of APC in Rivers state and they went to court to go and sworn an affidavit to handicap INEC, State assembly and PDP not to declare their seats vacant because they claimed their was an issue in their former party. Except you wished to tell the world that anyone can just go to court to swear an affidavit without no cogent reason. Have you sat down to ask yourself why they went to the same court to withdrew same affidavit they sworn to. The mean thing is, they cannot undo what has been done because a case has been filed on that ground. You cannot aprobate and reprobate at the same time. Not allowed in law, even though I am not a lawyer but I know all this basic.

You can search for the video on the net. I have it but can post video here. He explicitly said, this suit was filed before their defection and their defection suit is already at the federal high court in Portharcout. Meaning if the go to court again to fight for the representation of the 2025 budget to them, the respondent will have a enough ground to address their defection properly as they were unable in this 2024 budget suit. Just try and search for video of Femi Falana reaction to supreme court judgement on Rivers state 2024 budget representation and you will get clearer picture.
Falana is fubara lawyer so what do you expect him to say? I rule you out of order...
The appeal court ordered the budget to be presented to Amaewhule group which is legitimacy and that ruling subsists. Fubara lost today and would still have lost whether he withdrew or not. The apex court ordering fubara to pay separate fines to Amaewhule and the assembly should tell you the direction of the case. Fubara will lose heavily
