All the explanation they are giving about UBA still hovering around the 50 naira mark is seeming like a wrong one. This bank with very good fundamentals has refused to rise.

I intended a CICO but the thing is lasting too long to be a CICO candidate anymore.

Someone just called to tell me that NB made some fantabulous profits, the figures are closely guarded but investors will have reasons to smile big.
as far as i can see, it is still hovering around N50 isnt it?

@ aktopgun, my guy I no dey vex o, only that the sharing spirit we have been enjoying here is being threatened by a few people.

Lets continue to help each other, in fact I consider this my own way of giving back to society, making youths learn some tricks for free.
my brother, i know no be say u dey vex. we are all one here and i personally would love for it to remain that way as long as possible. I personally cana tell u that if the british or the americans had such a thread for investors(they probably do but u can be sure its probably a premium to join) they would have it on bloomberg or CNN or something like that. what i mean is it would be celebrated if not for the hits on the thread, then for the wealth of information shared here and the selfless spirit with which it is shared.

i fear the battle may already be too far gone on this one. i hope i am wrong.

invisible man wassup. hope all is well on ur side

i have a question or two for u.

does wanajo need guru status to make money? where was this thread when he was buying companies at N1.50 which ar enow worth 3-4 naira?

where was this thread when pumping or easi were making their investment decisions and learning their investment trade.

where was this so called guru status when windy and yodi or fof2 were building their portfolios to the formidable level its now at?

do u see what i mean? so many of our cherished contributors who we have all benefitted immensely from, even if we dont admit it are becoming shadows and now lurk  in the dark for the very reasons discussed today on this thread. who stands to lose?

i'll answer that shall i? ME and everyone else here who has made greater strides than we ordinarily would have had we gone it completely alone.

sure u see the koko now

@ aktopgun / everybody,

I'm trying to understand this candlestick theory / prediction.

I'm going to use AG Leventis as an example. Considering TA;

RSI is about  90. Meaning it is above 70, therefore it is in the overbought zone and you should sell.MACD is telling you that is Divergence is positive (0.1208), meaning it just hit a new low and you should buy more.
Also, the MACD
rises above the signal line - giving a bullish signal.

When you look at the MFI line, it is right around the 75.77 mark (approx 80). This is telling you that it is almost in the overbought zone and you should sell.

Based on these 3 criteria, would you guys recommend AG leventis a buy, Hold or sell?
Me personally, i look at the candlestick pattern first and then other indicators to confirm.

for AGLeventis, it is definitely on the upswing and gapped up again today, doing a 4-price doji in the process. in more developed markets this indecision would be suspect but in the nse i am used to seeing this kind of indecisive pattern going on for weeks becasue the stock is so thinly traded. next i look at volume. the volume has been higher in the last 2 days than in the last 6 months, something is abbout to happen.

all the other indicators are in positive territory and most have been for a while/ i would get out if my target has been met or exceeded on this one.

on the post i highlighted in ur text, because an indicator is in the overbought area doesnt necessarily mean a sell becasue u can never tell how long it will be in there for. some spend only a day or two in there and others like AG leventis are there for weeks.

hope this helps

Yes Universal listed 16b shares but who are the owners of those 16bn? Who are those trading?Some brokerage house basically warehouse the shares and no selling until after N3.00. Problem with it is that most of the buyers are going to DUMP thus causing a free fall!!!! With 16bn shares, once the certificates etc are out, it is very difficult to manipulate the price. Those insurance guys are just clueless!!! Hoa many banks have up to 16bn listed shares?

So i'm assuming you are saying there is still a lot more in the armoury we can use to win the premiership dog-fight. A lot to blow out man this-united this season.

@Aktopgun

Meanwhile since you are the only recognized pasenger on Cutix flight i think its time to bail for me i know you are long-term on this one but i fit commot profit now plenty of it go do some shopping and connect again in anticipation of their Q3 results i think the results are due anytine now sha. I go still leave some KG's on board

The RSI is ~99 way OVERBOUGHT and the price is trading VERY close to its upper Bollinger band of 24.01 and momentum way too close to the upper +ve value  all these  point to an overheating and OVERBOUGHT condition and most likely due for a trend reversal. The MACD divergence between the 25 and 12-day EMA is +ve so this is a seriously bullish trend

As for my candles i think they are telling me its forming a shooting star  which is a potential bearish reversal pattern.  Need you to please light your own candle to confirm. Heavy volume traded today may be a possible confirmation

@aktopgun, on unity bank, unless i'm looking at the wrong price list, I see that it traded above 10 today and closed just shy of 10. Also, the average price for today was higher than the last closing. Don't these indicate some buying pressure?

The list i'm looking at is the TRW list.
all u said is true girl but also notice it traded as low as 9.35 today. that tells me that some people were there just trying to kill the price increase today and the assassins will probably try again tomorrow. if they succeed (pleasantly surprised if they dont) the price should drop but probably not by much in the initial instance. tommorrows candle will reveal if the bulls are up for the fight they have on their hands on this one

yeah, having looked at the chart (after my last post) I see what you mean, a small slowing of momentum in the "sell rush" however it still closed at the day's low. Going by this it's bottom-out price may not get as low as I was prediciting in my previous post (the better) but I see that as a possibility. Howbeit, we need one or two day's trading to see how the trend goes. Aktopgun abi?
yep. i think so anyways.

On Nascon, things are looking up definitely but it needs some wind in its back i think. It should do better this week than last week

@aktopgun,
recall, i asked you sometime ago about where to learn candle-stick analysis.
basically, i try to analyse the charts combined with some probability analysis to 'predict" estimate what future direction will be. if i see a dragon-fly doji i look back to determine the probability that its price went up or down. i'm still developing this model and will share once complete.
i want to exploit the "redundancy" in the share price movement. E.g. in the English alphabet, the probability that 'h' follows a 't' is much higher than 'c'. and the probability that 'e' follows 'th' is greater than 'o' et al.
well done. pls share when it is completed. By the way, if u are interested, i could give u a book title that is much better than any website on candlestick charting, with more patterns and clear unambiguous explanations. the stockcharts website is a sort of off-shoot and is not that detailed or explanatory and neither are nay other sites i've researched

You should only speak for yourself just as I have. You don't need to qualify my personal view.

If you have been observant, you will note that a number of folks have already accused contributors of pumping and dumping. If you also note carefully, you will see that some previously frequent posters are slowly gyrating to silent readers.
I have noticed the exact same thing man and it is really unfortunate that we are missing the insightful contributions they offer.

that aktopgun is clean is your personal view and no one has suggested otherwise. let's not hyper-ventilate or get too emotional. put things in perspective.
i thought he had put things in perspective actually. Cuz pumping himself has been accused of all sorts in the past as well so he knows how it feels to have ur best motives being second-guessed.
Why not get emotional? man after-all is an emotional being. thats why one man is able to sell a share he bought at N5 to another man at N20, because the other man is buying on emotion, unless of course he sees something more in the future of the company. See how emotions tie into investing? its a fruitless exercise in futility trying to separate them. i agree that one could be accused of "pump and dump". but then you could always ask the recommender how much or when s/he bought the shares.

@aktopgun,
what is wrong in putting a caveat with every recommendation?
what Fo2 was inferring is that it is always easy to be an arm-chair or fantasy investor. (which i agree with).
