nkc:it would all depend on what u wanted to achieve with it when u bought. what time frame were u buying it for? has it met ur set target? are u willing to wait for it when it does drop? if u sell now, will u be making a profit at a level acceptable to u and if not, do u see it appreciating to ur exit point and how long are u willing to wait for it to get there? having said all that I would lock in some of the profit and leave some to simmer and percolate there for when the results are out. |
rasputinn:u should know my persuasions by now rasputin. I DO NOT SUPPORT "THAT TEAM". just to recap them for u ![]() ManU4life obama4president investnowinvestwiselyinvestwell there is wisdom in a multitude of counsel jesusrulz |
@ nkc how time flies ehn. i mean it will likely drop some in the coming days. its a turnaround company and has ridden on the back of that story till now. the year end is dec 31st i think, so its very possible that any anticipated profits have been worked into this price rise already in anticipation of the results. in the short term it will likely drop from what i can see from its chart |
dunlop looks to be coming down |
pumping777:@pumping A doji candlestick is what u are referring to from ur description- opening and closing price are the same or within 1/1000th of each other |
crazyT:@crazyT omo i saw it thank u. i hope all i well. i wish u'd waited on unity but u might have to wait it out now. its all good |
mastermove:i think it still has some upside but not based on fundamentals. it may swing back up in the next few days if u believe in looking at charts. if it closes higher today i would buy. all caveats apply. |
endure:u need to start from somewhere. read the prospectus and the part u don't understand, by all means ask. |
ritapearl:read the prospectus first |
@wanajo i was referring to ETI and why i think the interset in it isnt as it should be but see that change now that its been talked about here ![]() |
@wanajo it is high nominally speaking in price in the eyes of the ordinary man. at over N230, people see the N2.3m they would need to get just 10000 units as a lot of money to put into one company. besides, its not as liquid as others even if fellas want to buy |
afamako:@afamako point taken, but cuz the guy has the same surname as me doesnt mean i know him does it. the name is quite popular as it is and i would love to attach myself to such people. also, my full name isnt on this forum is it? even my work address. however, i take ur point sha. i hope say i never offend the assasins amongst us. make una no vex o! ![]() |
@roughcut a green closing marubozu is a bullish candle but u are right that a correction is coming soon i think( cuz if we use NSE prices, na dragonfly doji the thing form! i believe the NSE site till proven otherwise) on the nig sec website o, it still records this ( i am a bit distracted today, pls excuse me) opening-6.12 low-6.30 see the discrepancy? this is why for now i would go with the NSE website till otherwise proven |
it seems they have done some corrections on NIGSEC. opening-6.12 high-6.42 low-6.30 closing-6.42 this would produce a grreen closing marubozu |
dont trust these prices yet. wait for the nigeriansec.com to update theirs. the one they have now will surely be updated in a few hrs cuz if u look at their dunlop there is a discrepancy they report the opening price at 6.12 and say the low for the day is 6.30 ![]() on the NSE website itself, it says dunlop opened at 6.42, closed at 6.42 with a net change of .30 based on the friday closing price of 6.12 the prices will change. the only thing i can deduce is that the closing price for the day appears to be the 6.42. opening, high and low prices need updating this is sheer incompetence on the NSE's part though |
RoughCut:done! |

WHAT DOES THE HOUSE THINK OF THIS COMING PRIVATE PLACEMENT? I KOW THIS BANK JUST GOT INTO A DEAL WITH THE LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT ABOUT ITS MICROFINANCE INITIATIVE CALLED LASTMI. Private placement: Gapbridge Microfinance targets N500m capital base | Print | E-mail Written by Micheal Ebo Thursday, 21 February 2008 Gapbridge Microfinance Bank has disclosed its plans to shore up its capital base from N150 million to N500 million through a private placement that is scheduled to commence before the end of the current year. Speaking in Lagos on Tuesday, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Kunle Akeju disclosed that improved capital base would put the company in a better position to take advantage of opportunities in the Nigerian economy and to undertake big ticket transactions. He said, “The size of the Nigerian economy is very large with enormous opportunities in every nook and crannies of the country. This presents lots of opportunities for micro finance banks in the country. Presently we have a capital base of N150 million and we are planning to increase it to over N500 million through a private placement before the end of 2008.” He disclosed that the company in the nearest future plans to open branches in every local government area of the country so as to take its services to a large majority of Nigerians. He further stated that Gapbridge intends to be the dominant player in the Nigerian micro finance industry in the medium to long term and also the number one microfinance bank in West Africa. The bank was among the five micro finance banks short-listed on merit by the Lagos State government to commence its recently launched micro finance scheme for indigent men and women, especially artisans at the grassroots among others. The scheme which will be administered by the Lagos State Micro-finance Institute, with the state government setting aside N250 million to be disbursed through the micro finance banks, seeks to provide credit or loan facilities directly to borrowers at an interest rate lower than the prevailing lending in conventional banks. The aim of the project by the Lagos State government is to empower majority of Nigerians, create wealth and reduce the level of poverty in the country. Mr. Akeju commended the Lagos State government for giving it the opportunity to be a part of this laudable initiative that is geared towards alleviating the menace of poverty. According to him, “The provision of micro finance to the populace does two things, first, it helps cater for the poor in our society and secondly, it gives the people who are interested and capable the platform to implement their ideas. The first, social responsibility and the second economic growth.” He urged all stakeholders to come together and strive to entrench financial freedom and good social welfare in the economy which is beset by high level of unemployment, illiteracy, brain drain and a nonperforming real sector. He commended the Lagos state government for its efforts at making the state one of the most visible, financially independent and socially responsible states in the country and the world in general, and also for concentrating all its activities towards the alleviation of poverty through microfinance. “We believe that with a proper framework, proper performance matrix and good corporate governance, in the not too distant future we will come together again like this to celebrate the success of such a wonderful initiative with Lagosians being the ultimate beneficiaries,” he added |

i got this from nigeriansec on saturday in reply to my query. it seems they are doing their best and as usual the issues stem from the NSE Thanks for the close eye you keep on the results published. The final results published by the NSE showed exactly what you observed on our website. You will observe that the 40 Kobo loss which translates into a 7.42 % loss is what is reported on other sites such as nsepro and trw stockbrokers. I have also attached a copy of NSE's results available as at about 5.00am on saturday UK or Nigerian time. This differed from what our system found and pulled at 2.00am your time. NSE we learnt had some technical problems which may have lead to ABC transport trading beyond the 5% maximum appreciation or depreciation any stock can do in a day. This same problem was why no other site but ours was able to get interim results earlier in the day. Based on our experience, we have increased the frequency of our checks on the NSE's system ensure all changes are incorporated. See attached excel spreads showing the result obtained at 2.00am and 5.00am respectively. You will observe that the prices for ABC differ at both times and at both times are over 5%. Also, the closing price for dangote sugar you see differs as you will observe with some other stocks in both instances. We just want you and other subscribers to know that we have your backs. Thank you. We will be glad to know your thoughts. Regards NigerianSecurities |
@elemu my take on eterna as u asked. caveats apply
