Due to the sanctions the USA and its Allies are leveling against Russia the second largest producer of crude oil ....The cost of all the components of crude oil has gone up by as much as 50% in majority of countries that import stuffs like Aviation fuel, diesel and petrol....

In Nigeria... unlike sensible countries.... petrol is still been subsidies but kerosene and diesel is not and therefore when there is an increase in the open market....it shows here....

But if Petrol can be sold in the USA that has oil just like majority of Nigerians claim they have for $2-$3 per litre which is approximately 950-1350 naira per litre... I don't understand why we still selling at 165 naira per litre ....

Please correct yourself. It is not per litre but per gallon which is about 4 litres. Average price per litre in the US before this crisis was about 350 naira. Thanks

The sanction thing works like a fight between a billion-dollar conglomerate and a tiny company.
Using Nigeria as an instance, Dangote conglomerate can stop buying sugar cane from a major farmer in Jos, and also influence other buyers not to buy the farmer's produce. To make up the shortfall, it could invest in farmers in Cameroon or Benin to supply it with Sugar cane.

Of course the farmer can fight back by refusing to buy Dangote cement for his one-room shack construction project. However in reality, Dangote can ruin the farmer by blocking 100% of its income while the farmer cannot even hurt 1% of Dangote's business in Jos alone.

Russia is about the size of Texas's economy. Worse still, it is not as innovative as Japan in high-tech goods critically needed in the USA. Therefore, it has almost nothing EXCEPT GAS! Unfortunately, it cannot afford to stop selling its oil and gas because 100% of its income comes from there too. Not to mention that USA has its own abundant oil and gas supplies too.

I hope you know that the US as the world super power is still better for the world. Russia being a joint super power is to keep things under check to prevent the US and NATO from having absolute power that corrupts absolutely. We already saw what that did in Libya, Syria, Yugoslavia, Iraq etc.

As for the use of Russian rockets to send astronauts to ISS. you're right but remember that it was because the Space shuttle used prior to that was retired because it was aging. So it was a logistic issue not because America was too dumb to have their own rockets.
