I mean, annual salary of N100k as a benchmark? My gateman earns that in 4 months.

@ Dis_guy,

I like the way U are looking at the situation as A Glass half Full and not as A Glass that is Half Empty.

Though, imposition is not the way to go, but we should welcome this idea as it will transform us to a better society, too much cash carrying around that leads to more robbery. As an external car dealer, I prefer online, since I get alert on every deposit and do my own transfer to my agent for clearing. Transfer to my Dom. with a Pre-filled forms and found it more convenient than telling me stories about money disappear or one kind robbery at the lot.

I am not a fan of OBJ neither are mine saying he is a saint. But I feel that he doesn't really deserve the intense criticism he has been receiving lately. He has contributed more to the progress of the country than any other president dead or alive. Its a hard fact that people wont accept. In own words he said he is not bothered about history written in a hurry but history written years and decades after which definitely would be in his favour. I agree with him and I know that you all will agree with me in 10 to 20 years to come.

Does anyone realized that NL only have 650k registered members?  We debate/curse on this forum as if we are the supreme being over this election.  If all the members and guest vote for One Presidential Candidate, it still does not hold ground for the required votes.  Let's be careful how we castigate each other on this forum when all the votes are out there.

Everyone should support his/her candidate by spreading their mandates as opposed to accusing one another on this forum all-day-long.

In as much as we are all comfortable now and thinking of d future generation, there is no need to label any citizen as bad pple or name calling because they choose a candidate other than what anyone wants.   I trully believed our problem is beyond PDP or corruption, but true we'll start at somewhere.
*Can we still recall, when pple will queue at phone centers to receive call from abroad.  that alone is an achievement of OBJ who is also a pdp.  Tinapa resort center?

Let pple make their choices based on Debate(s) or Physical Achievements or Phonetics of d candidates or sentiments.  All I know is that it is difficult for a single party to win d presidency without an alliance or runoff.    ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER for GOOD FOR THOSE WHO DESIRE A BETTER NIGERIA in truth and spirit.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Promises Stable Power Supply In Four (4) Years by alanbolo(m): 6:23pm On Mar 10, 2011
@ Delta007,

Nice one.   If the deregulation have not been stopped after OBJ era, we would have progressed in solving our probs, even at that, his regime laid d foundation for those mini generating plants that were been commissioned around d country by last year (2010).    With a capital investment of these magnititude, it's not possible to tackle even a Single-State power problem within a calendar year.

Ask d expects in generation and distribution of power plants across d globe.  US with the yearly investment of funds is still behind in clean energy that have been in research/implementation process years back.  In as much as I'll like to be have 24/7/365 of uninterrupted power in 9ja, I don't think anyone can achieve it with 2 years.

Either way, 9ja will not spoil.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Confesses:ibb Is My Father (role Model)-like Father Like Son by alanbolo(m): 8:45pm On Feb 24, 2011
@ Sir Dayo. Do u remember during the Texas campaign when Mitchell made a statement about my America. See how it was nationalized negatively and even Clinton use it predominantly. It can not be equate with word-for-words as in 9ja but a parallel to what is going on. Believed me, BRF will not dwell on Asiwaju's name as he did in 2007. All other ACN new candidates will use the same tactics to push their manifest to d populace.

Am not saying GEJ is d messiah, but we should not be dwelling on political issues that are within d boundaries of a fair play.
I will not be surprised if OBJ and OGD make-up after d elections. Same thing happened to Atiku when IBB bared him from contesting then.

KKMMG:
,  I wonder why Nigerian Politics take this kind of shape/path,  Do all you can to win the mind of the Electorates even if it involves becoming a praise-singer of men.
,
Good observation and question?   The reason for the praise singing is because of the electorate intellect level.  In our society, unfortunately the masses or electorate reason-ate much with father-ism figure than the manifestos.   I still remember during the time of Awolowo UPN and (my party) NPP, we all know where d campaign style of UPN then and where it got them.
2ndly, what happened to the manifestos of Soludo during his Governorship race.  I still believed in Soludo's manifestos if it can be implemented.

Until our society outgrown that father-ism figure, it-is-what-it-is.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Confesses:ibb Is My Father (role Model)-like Father Like Son by alanbolo(m): 8:25pm On Feb 24, 2011
@ Okunoba,

Thx 4 ur statements, we have to realize that political games is not 4 d feeble minds. I never thought in my mind during BHO and Clinton that things will work out the way it is now. if we can recollect, after the primaries, Barak reached out to Clinton, seeking the support of those that supported her then.

I see no wrong in what GEJ does now or what any other candidate will do later, It''s politics and we can yarn much as we can, but the votes are out there and whoever can play dirty (but Legal) or mu-mu games to gather the votes is what matters now.

I believed because we are not politicians or in politics, that is why we have time to trade jabs here at NL.
The real politicians doesn't give a hoot about what we say or not, to them it's only 1 vote, and they need more than that.

He's doing right by his statement. At least not as ,  MEND didn't do it or,  too sensitive to be left in the hand of rascals.
