Christianity EtcRe: Is It Biblical For Pastors To Advertise Miracles by alanbolo(m): 5:19pm On Aug 26, 2009
and b4 someone ask my differentials between WORD of God and Miracles,     I mean word of God for empowerments and improving the community u are.   Some pastors do charity work like actual serving the destitute themselves - physically.  It is my Nigerian Churches Pastor that sit and let other serve them.
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Biblical For Pastors To Advertise Miracles by alanbolo(m): 5:14pm On Aug 26, 2009
While not believing in advertising miracles as it is done,   what can be said of advertising the word of God,    "Joel Osteen of  Lakewood Church",  "TD Jakes of The Potter's House", "Creflo Dollar of World Changers", etc,

Let's face it. We are living in cynical times which demand the utmost transparency from those who seek to lead and represent.
Even when leaders present a squeaky clean exterior, they still - being flawed humans like the rest of us - aren't above question.   For it is axiomatic that when it comes to the business of leading by example, image is everything.

Mathew 10: 6 The Bible juxtaposes the need to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves with good reason.

Another version  ----  "Remember it is I who am sending you out, as sheep into the midst of wolves;prove yourselves as sagacious as serpents, and as innocent as doves.

Hosea 4:6a     My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, ,
Hosea 8:13a    As for My sacrificial gifts, They sacrifice the flesh and eat it, But the LORD has taken no delight in them ,
BusinessRe: Who Is Currently The Richest Man In Nigeria? by alanbolo(m): 4:20pm On Aug 26, 2009
Blog icon:
I agree with seun. You can't call most of the naija "billionaires" rich, becos their business empires are on foundations of heavy debts. Is it jimoh Ibrahim dat's loosing it now, or Dangote dat's a heavy borrower.

The fact's dat most of "naija richest" would die and pass on heavy debt to their children, instead of fortunes. These guys are just virtual 'bank vaults'.

If you must point out one as the richest, then it would be one of those political armed robbers and democRATS. Talk of OBJ, then your begining 2 make sense, then call IBB, then there you come. Apart from these rogues, the only real billionaires would be bank CEOs like Jim Ovia, Tony, Cecilia, etc.
I hope u're still not under illusions of these Bank CEO's you are parading as Billionaires,   Just tell them to  return the loot back to govt. as to expand our economy.

CareerRe: Salary - How Much Is Enough To Sustain An Average Nigerian by alanbolo(m): 10:42pm On Aug 25, 2009
stalliontp:
i guess average salary will be what is paid whereever he/she decides to work, if it's in Nigeria then , it will be what is paid in Nigeria and if it's in the U.K, then it would be what the going pay for such is.  If he seeks jobs in Nigeria , he may have a competitive edge because he studied abroad but i think that's all to it. In the U.S, he gets between $65K to $90K for his Masters.
I beg to disagree with your salary scale for US jobs ,     B Sc - Biomedical Engineering (Medical/Pharmaceutical),  then to MS in Public Health, mostly directed towards policy making and administrations,  while it affords you more time than other bio-medical practices,   the take home pay is as good as B Sc - Engineering.

AutosRe: Camry 2.2 or Baby Boy by alanbolo(m): 4:57am On Jun 22, 2009
@ Poster, based on ur reply, I will definitely recommend Camry.

"Based on my experience on using both types - over and over again, also with maintenance and condition of our roads, Camry is still more better"

I will only consider Honda 2009 over the Camry 09 cause it's not as common as the Camry (muscle) around here.

Good luck on ur transaction - whichever u decide on.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Any Difference Between CV And Resume? by alanbolo(m): 1:29pm On Jun 20, 2009
While no one is particularly right or wrong,

need to clarify on some posters that Resume should be limited to 1 page while a CV can be more that 2 pages. As far as am concern in this my corporate world, I have used Resumes of more than 2 pages and still got the position and have also received detailed resumes of more than 2 pages resulting in my company hiring the individuals,

To keep it simple, North America use Resume while the European nations prefer CV. I believed for ingenuity, tailored your Resume / CV to the desired positions, the goal is to get the job through whatever format is available.
AutosRe: Shipping Truck From Usa To Ng by alanbolo(m): 6:36am On Jun 15, 2009
@ Promise72,

Thx 4 ur contribution on this section. It's been fascinating how u handle and delivered information to those who need it as requested. I'm supporting ur claim about AES shipping. I do ship with them, as well as ATI, AEL and SGF, all here in NJ.

AES will definitely ship from any location, the best thing to do is arranged the port delivery with the shipping company who always have dedicated independent drivers that will deliver ur truck to the port with the dock receipt. Usual cost from here in Elizabeth-NJ to Bayone Port is $250 and up, while from NJ to Delaware port is about $500.

PoliticsRe: Shame On Nigerian Police - All Because Of 50 Naira Bribe They Want To Die by alanbolo(m): 5:39pm On Feb 06, 2009
The current state of the nation is something else, but as it's been said couple of times,

The best thing for her is to take the registration number and report same " Assuming d Reg. is valid and trackable"    Just returned from 9ja about 3 wks ,    while I was being driven around,  we did not stop most of the times when we were waved down casually, especially at a remote place,   cause u never know who is the actual officer or just men-in-unform who just want yr loot.     At those times,  I laid down flat in the car 4 fear of any misfired shots,

I wish i have the courage to take pix at that time,   but was cautioned that my camera will be seized and knowing that i came from abroad will complicate issues,      When i drove myself around,   i saw mabo-mabo "but not hell o"  The ordeal i wen thorugh make me think that lagos is not a place Lagosto settle down, I rather move to Abuja and Ibadan where I did not face any issue when driving along their roads.

Hopefully, we can better things by exposing the police and the law-breakers with pictures exposed to the whole public.

Technology MarketRe: Cheapest Inverter ever 24hrs Electricity, imported... by alanbolo(m): 11:52pm On Dec 18, 2008
@ Afam and Blezzing,

Afam have been in the forum for longer time and also display his website and contact info. with that, I throway salute.

Despite the trading of word, I respected both of u for informing the public with alternative energy to PHCN. I don't really care what u says or do as a competitor and if we have pple like u in most professions, it 'll augment well for that profession.

One thing I will like though is for "any info-provider" to state the fact and forget the immediate gratifications that is embedded in our system - which now dampen us.

NOTE: Pictures will speaker better languages to your audiences than words & Figures.

@ Afam,

thx 4 the above updates about the bears and bull in reference to the market. It's been said alot on this site that the upswing in prices for the past 2 years is just too incredible and will soon call for correction. As you've rightly said, it's good to have a plan ahead b4 entering the market and position one-self for the upswings. Happy Investing.

u guys have me gigling at every post, especially that of EI joke. I also have been wondering why Nissan products are not been favored on our roads.

Recently sent Nissan Sentra 07 to someone who appreciates it's smoothness and looks. Was surprised that the 00 and 01 Altima was little appreciated in the sales price around the country. I still think that Maxima is a very formidable model of the Nissan products but we may need more mechanics to be able to diagnose it's ailment whenever called for.

Thx loma. Found the article intresting but I seem to disagree  with Jerry Uwah that the fund managers should be allowed to invest offshore.   How sustainable will the fund-mgrs be when the market turn volatile as it is this year with FTSE and NYSE markets?

@Automaster,   yr comments are appreciable and that of inspired_m nonetheless is well taken.

As someone who send cars to 9ja regularly, I do browse these sites for price comparison to my markets and sometimes I wonder how pple sell cars so cheap if they're using the same source as I do or they do have some imbalaya candlesticks to cajole the cars fromthe auctions and private sellers?

Name calling should be banned at NL and do appreciate the moderation of Seun at other treads of banning pple who are abusive.      Please let's keep these forum  for it's intended purpose - BUSINESS, both the seller and buyer should auger on the price and not on name calling trades.

Inspired_m & Viperman, Keep the flag flying.
