Between 1995/96 i lost both my folks. My uncle came & pick me from the village in 1996, i stayed with them for 5yrs but during the 5yrs that i stayed with them i saw hell on earth. I would woke up 5:30am everyday to do the house chore no rest till 12am sometimes till 1am that i would go to bed to rest. Sorry girl, I totally forgot about this thread. The location is too far, I can not cope. I got a lot of offers, I was amazed by the results. It shows nairaland is more than a site...but locations was the problem. I don't want to go far, with the way things are in this country one has to be careful.

My uncle said this my ideal was OK, at least I came up with something...he got worried about securities, dangers, and lots. He asked me to remove this nanny ideal from my head as he won't allow me.

I confirmed my fears when someone contacted me and was asking some weird questions not even related to kids sef...or house whatever. I jejely took my uncle's advice.

For now my neighbors do give me their kids when they are busy or rushing off to somewhere. They don't pay me, but the smiles on the kids are enough for me. I should do something else and trash this nanny ideal. It's a pity, in a developed country a nanny job is a professional career. Here in Africa they see it as house help or someone less of a human standard.
