For a long time i've been thinking seriously about this very question.
looking through the bible, i find out that the early believers never had
different churches for different group of believers....you'll only read
about the 'church at ephesus, @ corinth, @ Sardis, philipi,..e.t.c
which are only necessary because of distance/geographical locatns but
all are still under same leadership(the apostles and elders).
In I Corintians chapter 3, Apostle Paul warned the corithians when
issues of who to follow wanted to cause division among the believers; He
called this an act of canality.

Here we are with too many denominations with different
doctrines/traditions with some contradicting each other. I know there
are advantages to be derived in all these but is the disadvantages not
too much these days?
In John 17, Jesus prays for unity repeatedly and i strongly believe, it
is because of the future He saw then.

what is your say?...do you believe it is more of a problem than
blessing?....

If the quality of the threads making fp is of high standard in terms of been educative, entertaining, catchy, informative and @ the same time able to pull traffic depending on the targeted audience, then i'll have no problem with the updates.....but to say the truth, the quality of most threads are very poor and shallow.
I personally don't want to see a nairaland that'll bore pple and become uninteresting to open simply because of poor quality.....because of these points, i hereby recommend as follows;

1. The Mods need to take inventry of threads opened within a particular period(as determined by you or supermods) and come out with those that are of top quality.
2. The mods should have a specific no..of threads that'll grace fp in say every 3hrs, 6hrs, 9hrs and in a day.
3. Popularity/sex/political affiliation/religion of a member should not play out on any mods in moving a thread to fp...the criteria should be well stated and thoroughly followed.

The Almighty God is looking for true worshippers because they are scarce. They are so rare and precious that even God looks for them. Seek God earnestly form the heart not 'things/promises' because those who look for 'things' never come to the end of struggle but those who look for God don't struggle for things.

If you seek His face for who He is, He will show you His wonderful working power. Don't look for God only because of what He can do.

When you are rushing to God because He can give you things, God is saying, "are you looking for a God to use or a God to serve?" He isnt your 'baba Ijebu' or wonder bank...Seek Him in truth and spirit!

Develop the mind-set that you are into a relationship with God. Look for responsibilities to carry out from the scripture and not just promises.

simply put, NYSC is a waste of time, opportunity to loot our common money and wrong application of money..
if they can give each graduate all the allowances + money for kits +
camp runnnings per corp member at once, it'll be enough for serious
minded youth to establish and become an employer of labour but instead,

Knowing Jesus vs Knowing about Jesus.

Today so many people know about Jesus-that is, we all know some facts about Him, celeberate Christmass and Easther, attend church regularly and even commit bible verses to memory, but a good percentage of people have never allowed the facts to become their personal reality.

We now easily substitute religion for a real relationship with Jesus. We can appreciate the facts of Jesus' death and resurrection, but until we have made Him our Lord, the fact do us no good.

There is a difference between intellectual assent/head knowledge and saving faith. Knowing Jesus means; we have accepted His sacrifice on our behalf(2 cor. 5:21), We ask Him to be the Lord of our lives, we identify with Him in His death and consider our old selves to have died with Him(col. 3:3); it also means we accept His forgiveness and cleansing from sin and seek to know Him in intimate fellowship through His Holy Spirit.

Don't be caught up in religious and doctrinal knowlege, choose to know Him intimately today by accepting Him as your Lord and personal saviour and let Him pilot the affiars of your life through the working of the Holy Spirit.

Message:

Our heavenly Father is looking for people that will do the uncommon
things required to become uncommonly successful, thereby showing forth
His greatness. Looking at the story of the man sick of the palsy in our
Bible reading for today, you will learn some things that are essential
to attaining this height. This man had a vision of what he wanted to
become in life, though he was lame. Vision means beginning with the end
in mind. Vision is superior to ambition because while ambition is what
you want to happen, vision is what God wants to happen. Furthermore, he
realised he needed a change and he chose to change. In 1 Chronicles
4:9-10, we see that Jabez chose to become different and he got it. You
also will obtain the necessary transformation you need in accordance
with what you have chosen in Jesus’ Name.

The sick man was ready for new ideas. For him, getting an alternative
meant getting to Jesus. This is where some people need to watch it. This
man was wise enough to know where solution lies for him, but in the
case of some children of God, instead of waiting on God under their
God-appointed spiritual leaders, they continue to patronise different
prayer mountains. This man also kept good relationships i.e. good
friends. He could not walk, but his friends could. You have to be good
yourself to be able to have and maintain good friends. Don’t be a lone
ranger; not only in terms of marriage is this relevant, it also applies
to you having good dependable friends.

The sick lame man also had current information. You need to keep the
channels of receiving information open in your life. It is when you are
current that you can be correct, and then you can collect what you need,
which will eventually stand you out in success. Elisha was current on
the things going on in his time (2 Kings 2:1-4). By this information, he
kept following Elijah until finally he collected a double portion of
Elijah’s anointing that subsequently made him to stand out.

Action Point:

Father, whatever it will take for me to stand out, please do it in my
life and grant me the grace to co-operate with you.
