there you go again..so, what is wrong in thinking of what my country should and can do for me?....what is wrong in asking for what is legitimately my right? i think we give too much power to our leaders by not demanding good governance from them...that is why majority of them are never responsible. deeobserver209; |
i just gave you a portion of the scripture, bro.....maybe u'll need to explain ur questn well or tell me the angle you are coming from. nathanyl77; |
there is no need to argue, bro....all i tried to explain is that Christianity is deeper than religion or better put, been a Christian is deeper than been religious....it is this lack of understanding that put alot of people in the dark about there relationshp with Christ even while been a perpectual church goer... tell me, how will u describe some1 who attend church regularly, involve himself in all the church doctrines and yet will loot the country's treasury, involve in cheating, adultery, fornication e.t.c?..will Christ do that?... in summary, Christianity defines the people who decide to follow the 'way of life' of Christ...people who strive to live a life that honours Him...people who will make resolution like Joseph, Daniel even when the world is going against them. THEVOICE3; |
first, you confuse yourself abt ur CHURCH and church issue....simply, church is the gathering of Christians for Christ's sake. to summarize ur points, u re saying morality superceed the bible teachings and that itz no longer fashionable to fellowship with brethen(church gatherings)... you are wrong, bro..God never change, so is the validity of the bible. you may choose to believe God, bible or not bt that doesnt change who God is and the potency of His written word. yes, fake pastors, prophets abound more and more bt that doesnt mean there are no genuine once who still do the biddens of God and there are also countless children of God even in this same country and this generation(myself inclusive)....if you are sincere enough, you must have come accross some if only you know what to realy look out for. finally, read Heb. 10v25..that will clear your doubts abt the need to attend fellowship of brethren(church) regularly. paxonel |
johndafff;which church u dey by 2am?... John, i think i told you stop using salt for drink, licking and bathing.....see wetin d thin dey do u.. |
hmmm., going to church by 1am?..i hope itz nt what i'm thinking sha. Nastydroid; |
yes, there is....itz clear u dont read through to the last line... check the last paragraph for the bible quotation, sir. nathanyl77: |
i realy don't get ur point bt i'll like to start clearly that Christianity is NOT a religion as widely believed proclaimed...Christianity is the way of life of those who believe in Jesus Christ truely; those who live there lives after Him(Christ).... it is only in Christ that the knowledge of right and wrong can be sincerly establised. THEVOICE3: |
Here are some irreplaceable pieces of the Christian that cannot happen when you live in isolation from the church: 1. USE OF SPIRITUAL GIFTS - I Corinthians 12 makes it clear that God has given spiritual gifts to every Christian. And verse 7 states unmistakably that these abilities are not provided to make you feel good; they are abilities to minister that should be used for the common good! I Peter 4:10 commands us to use spiritual gifts to help each other. The same passage makes it clear that we meet with other Christians so they can use their gifts to strengthen us. God's gift of a preacher or teacher is wasted if no one comes to hear them speak. 2. MUTUAL MINISTRY - The church is pictured as a body in I Corinthians 12, and Paul explains that each part of the body exists to meet the needs of other body parts. In the same way, God intends each of us to meet the needs of other believers, using our strengths to help in their areas of weakness. I Corinthians 12:21 expresses it this way: "The eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of you." Neither can a Christian claim to be self-sufficient today. The New Testament is full of “one another” commands. We are to comfort one another (I Thessalonians 4:18), build up one another (I Thessalonians 5:11), confess our sins to one another (James 5:16), pray for one another (James 5:16), and many more. How can we obey these directives if we stay away from the gathering of believers? 3. ACCOUNTABILITY - God designed the church as a place where spiritual leaders could watch out for our welfare, as a shepherd guards the sheep (I Peter 5:1-4; Hebrews 13:17). A Christian who answers only to himself can easily rationalize sinful attitudes or actions; regular contact with other Christians can keep us sharp. A single verse should actually be sufficient answer for this question: Hebrews 10:25 warns its readers against “forsaking the assembly of yourselves together, as the manner of some is.” |
BluIvy:sorry dear, i'm nt ready for an unintelligent gossip here.. |
my brother, the issue tire me ooo. must we alwayz believe everything the they tell us in the name of civilizatn without checking it out?.....we must be gay, we must be lesbian, we must depend on them to fight insurgency, we must do this, we must do that can u imagine the strong words with which they pass there message like say na saction straight if we dare try the drug....who will now saction them for using there own trial drugs days b4 WHO approves the use of any trial drug @ all?... how i wish, our fg have the courage to call there bluff this once. UrbanMystique: i |
MissMeiya:I'm surprised that all you care to answer frm my many ?s is who invented the drug. This nano-silver had been in exisitence for long and used for some other things thatz nt medically related...and i need not to ask google b4 repeating it that there must be an inventor or group of inventors for that....bt seriously, what is ur problem abt who invented it?...this is a critical situatn that needs urgent action with the same speed with which USA treated there own citizens....all i want to be sure of is that it wont have any negative side effect either itz a cure or not. I'm very sure u'll be singing different song if one of ur relatves is among those already infected with the virus. |
Princek12:u are so lucky that i don't go insulting but bros., you shld think again abt all that you post here. do u seriously think the health minister and all the health professionals don't know all these?....again, who said the dectector of this nono-silver is anonymous-u need to read abt the genesis again.. pls., check ur facts b4 going viral with ur insults. Btw., who said itz only USA that can test an experimental drugs and certified them for use?....did any country tested there Zmapp b4 they used it on there citizens? must we continue now to wait for them even after refusing to give us there own Zmapp.. don't we have an effective Nafdac and renowned scientist who can check the drugs for us? |
I need to ask this question in light of the current trend in this country. do the common man even have a right to start with? what happen to the right of the youths to be gainfully employed as at when due to discourage unrest? what about the right to social amenities?.... |
did anything good ever come out from all the GEJ committees tactics? he used to committee to settle the dust raised ant to silence nigerians over the issue. he had always used same tactics on all serious issues...e.g., fact finding committee to find out if our girls were actually kidnapped: report was submitted months afterward. If anything will be done, it should be to first sack the minister and made him answer those begging questions....in a sane society, he(the minister) would have resigned few days after the sad incidence but he seems untouchable........ .......But, i'll join my voice here to call on the FG to right all these wrongs ASAP...enough is enough.....it is our right as a nigerians to be employed and not a privilege. stop making nigerians feel we have to beg you to be a responsible leader: that is what you are voted for! |
StealthyMeheard that too and gej's reaction would have make ali2 sense if He can try to explain his reason/s to nigerians on that and other serious issues raised by fashola and not mere political propaganda that an average nigerian will never buy into. |
i dont like commenting in a thread like this one bt i just cant help it. i watched the presentation by fashola and it was insightful but nt unexpected from an "opposition".......i'm beginning to see how unserious the fg can be with this reaction. did we voted them in office to start reacting to everything the opposition are saying?....it took less than 5hrs or so to react to Fashola's presentatn, yet it took days and weeks b4 the fg believed that our girls were actually kidnapped....took Gej months to sympathize with the girl's family in his own abode.....took gej and fg forever to reorganize the failed immigration recruitment after all the promises...the list goes on and on... my question is, who is deceiving who?...how long are we going to remain like this? mind you, I'm not a political bigots who can be carried away by mere speech...i'll always say this, there is no major difference btw PDP and APC. God, save us! |
khalebzy:this one na serious questn...why nt just answer him b4 u term it a dumb ??..... |
Do you ever wonder why it takes you 24 hours to unwind on vacation? Or why after finally lining up a babysitter for the long awaited dinner date there wasn’t much to talk about (except the kids)? It’s no different with skiing, piano, meditation, or Pinochle, if you don’t practice, it doesn’t come easily. The same applies to celebrating life. The time to enjoy life, and celebrate it, is now. DON’T WAIT FOR RETIREMENT I’m always surprised and a little depressed when people tell me they’re looking forward to retirement. “I can’t wait!”, they tell me, “to have all that free time.” Really? Will you even know what to do with “all that free time”? After a while, catching up on your reading, playing more golf, and Wednesday night poker might not be enough. It’s no different then “surviving” the week so you can enjoy the weekend. Or, obsessing about how great life will be when the kids are finally out of the home. It’s like planning a holiday full of hiking, spa treatments, and good food, so you can “get back in shape.” The time to take care of yourself and enjoy life is (you guessed it), today. ENJOY YOUR VICTORIES, EVERY DAY Every morning, I look forward to my workout. It’s part exercise and part victory. I’ve just wrapped up two hours of writing, and my walk/run/paddle/weights is how I stay fit and celebrate keeping my writing commitment. When I’m not on the road speaking, I always do the hardest work for my day in the morning [LINK], my afternoon walk around the block is like a mini celebration for sticking to my plan. Sunday is a celebration day – I rarely check email and try to avoid anything to do with my business. Dinner with my family is a ritual, even though my daughter’s are crazy busy with their own lives. That’s when we laugh the most. The last thing I do before sleep is read a couple of chapters in a novel. It’s pure entertainment and totally for me. None of these mini-victories are big – they don’t have to be. Just like training for a race, I’m in training for life. I want to keep getting better at helping people through my work, and savoring non-work time. DO ONE THING A DAY JUST FOR YOU I was talking with a supplier last week about celebrating life when she chimed in with her own story. “I’ve decided that everyday” younger next yr book covershe said “I’m going to do something for myself.” One day she went for a longer walk than normal, on another she did yoga, and on another she browsed the book section of a second hand store. On the surface these sound pretty insignificant. But celebrating life and celebrating time freedom is never insignificant. “…play is useful. It exercises our bodies and our minds in the most profound and useful ways. Play is virtuous now. It is its own reward.” Says Chris Crowley in Younger Next Year. ” Now is the time for boys to play golf. And poker nights. And trips to the ballpark to see the Yankees play the Red Sox. Time to go out in the yard and throw the ball, even if you stand twenty feet apart. Time to go tumbling down the bunny hill with your grandchildren. Race down the slalom hill with Cheeb, your seventy-year-old first-grade pal. Play in the surf after a storm. Throw parties for yourself, every single birthday. I had a beauty when I turned seventy. Just plain do stuff. Default to doing stuff. Learn to cook. Jump into some new sport, now that you’re fit for it. Just do it.” GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT I first heard the expression: “garbage in, garbage out” in reference to computer programs, but it applies to life as well. Repeating “garbage” thoughts over and over always leads to “garbage” results in your actions and even your body. Here are some “garbage” thoughts to avoid: “I can’t wait until retirement. Then I’ll really enjoy life.” “Once I get this project finished I’ll be able to spend more time enjoying my family.” “Money issues are putting stress on our relationship” “As soon as I lose some weight I’ll get out and enjoy life more.” “When I get this book project out of the way, I can finally do what I want to do.” “If only I had more money, I could enjoy life more” “I can’t wait until the weekend. Then I’ll have a lot more time for me.” I’ve got news for you. Repeating “As soon as I…” statements is a sure-fire way to miss out on life. You might as well be saying “I am not happy, therefore I will never be happy.”I can't wait until retirement Ridiculous. Not only are you ripping yourself off, you are ripping off your future. START TODAY – PRACTICE CELEBRATING Call it celebrate, having fun, exercising your freedom, or just doing-what-the-hell-I-want. Whatever. The sooner you practice celebrating life, the sooner life will celebrate you. Here’s what to do. Pick one thing you know you will enjoy, even if it’s as simple as sitting outside to read a book at lunch. And do it today. Tomorrow, pick something else you will enjoy and do that. Now keep going. Pretty soon, you have a handful of “celebrations” you can pick from every day. The goal is to create a habit of celebrating life, not to wait. What are you going to do today? source;http://hughculver.com/why-you-should-practice-celebrating-life-today/ |
henchamb:my guy, try to be current abt issues b4 making comments on a forum like this. all those churches you mentioned are still with can till date and can have never been more united as we have it today....make sure u make proper enquiry b4 quoting me, pls. year ago, some churches decided to go solo bt nt anymore...nt nw when the unity of the body is much more needed...if u care to knw, PFN is very much with CAN. so, tell me, which one is ur own denominatn?...maybe u'll need to talk to ur pastor/priest first, bro. |
henchamb:no offence, bro..bt u rili need to knw why i questn ur Christianity...itz simply because you term CAN; the umbrella body For Christian, a political party:....a proverb goes thus in yoruba.."only a bastard point the left(accusing) finger to his father's house"....i don't want to believe that u'll play abt CAN with such statement if you are truely a Christian let alone been serious. abt the dressing of the man of God, i've never seen anything wrong with his dress sense....maybe u need to find out how an Itsekiri man normally dress...better be informed, bro. you also mentn utterances; pls., give us example by quoting @ least one of such statement here....for me, the man is simply doing what most men of God are failing to do; defending and advocating for the security of Christians. |
What is the missing ingredient in so many marriages that end in divorce? In spite of the high number of divorces taking place right before our eyes, people still want to get married. And here's the interesting thing: Not one couple gets married with the intention of getting divorced. We all believe our marriage will be successful. Yet statistics prove otherwise - half will fail. Two questions we need to ask: 1) What is the problem? 2) What needs to change? We've all heard that "love conquers all." Many couples believe in their heart of hearts that if there's enough love between them, all problems will be conquered. But this wishful thinking often leads to heartbreak. Experience shows that you can love someone deeply - and still opt to divorce. Yes, being in love helps. Yet the foundation of a strong marriage is created by something deeper still: sharing and pursuing mutual life goals. Unfulfilled life goals destroy even the strongest marriages. Fulfilling one's personal sense of meaning often supersedes love. Without a shared life direction, divorce can be just around the corner. If you are considering marriage, you need share with the other person those things that are most important to you. This doesn't mean simply reporting a history of personal activities. We don't enjoy one another merely because we both love golf and Chinese food. Rather it is life's ultimate goals that we are sharing and shaping, stemming from our most cherished dreams and desires. This is what makes a marriage bloom. I'm a strong believer in the principle, "If you're a confused single person, you'll most likely be a confused married person." Never make the mistake of thinking that marriage solves existential questions about life! Being married, even happily so, is not your purpose in being. You should know, to the best of your ability, your life's aim even before you meet your spouse. Imagine the burden on your spouse if he is your life's navigator! One's meaning and purpose must come from within, never imposed from without. We each need to be our own person - true to our principles, true to what's important to us. True achievement is never a one-time happening, but rather an ongoing series of correct choices. Even after spending the necessary time figuring out your aim in life, don't put your life on "automatic-pilot." You must revisit your aspirations and modify or change them when necessary. source:www.aish.com/d/w/48965866.html |

henchamb:CAN is the religious wing of PDP. This is not a political gathering so the nigga presido is not welcomed.to start with, your Christianity is questionable if you can refer to CAN like that...in case you don't know, CAN isnt another name for Pastor Oritsejafor....he is the president of Christian Association of nigeria, CAN. if he refuse to talk and take action in the interest of the Christians, u pple will shout it out and call him names....now we have a can president who will alwayz love to say it as it is without recourse to name and personality, u re calling him a politician. i dont blame you....Jesus was criticized in same manner as this one....even the respondents gave insight as to why he was sidelined. @ topic....just for that reason ans some other related once nt reported, we all know the outcome of such conference.....in this country, nobody can deceive me with a propaganda like this one. |

[Solozzo] Pls stop this conspiracy against the United States of America. THEY' VE BEEN RESEARCHING FOR THIS CURE SINCE 1976; experimental drug for the cure discovered since 2012. Read about it here: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZMapp[/quote]we hear u sir.. just for you to know...; our scientist have been working too and CDC(center for disease control) world over are meant to share ideas and reserch works on all these known dreaded virus and diseases. why are we just hearing abt there serum after two of there citizens were infected?. why will they pull out there citizens back home with a hidden agenda to cure them when many are dying daily for same disease?... you are entitled to your own opinion bt me ooo, i don't trust them for once....i'm a free born! |
