Christianity EtcRe: Great Verses From The Bible, ... That Christians Are Ashamed Of. by AlfaSeltzer(op): 7:12pm On Oct 17, 2013
rabzy: This verse you quoted shows that you know little about what you are talking about. There is nothing to be ashamed of, either in the old testament nor in the new. You only read, you do not understand the scriptures nor the God that gave it.

This is from the chapter you quoted from, hopefully you will understand what Jesus meant by taking away peace from the earth by reading the whole chapter or the following excerpts

(Matthew 10:21-23) . . .Further, brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child, and children will rise up against parents and will have them put to death. 22 And YOU will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name; but he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 23 When they persecute YOU in one city, flee to another;. . .

(Matthew 10:32-37) . . .“Everyone, then, that confesses union with me before men, I will also confess union with him before my Father who is in the heavens; 33 but whoever disowns me before men, I will also disown him before my Father who is in the heavens. 34 Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword. 35 For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law. 36 Indeed, a man’s enemies will be persons of his own household. 37 He that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me; and he that has greater affection for son or daughter than for me is not worthy of me.
Wow! The full chapter is even worse. See jesus telling his soldiers to run away. No wonder!

Then from verse 32, the powerful creator is pledging revenge against his creatures grin grin grin grin grin. "If you do me, I go do you", like an illiterate vagabond. So pitiful and pathetic.

Ishilove: I really don't want to be the voice of dissension here, but what macof has proposed seems to me like unnecessary duplication of awards. What really is the difference between irreligious and non-religious?? I don't see any fun in having sticky threads all over the place and if I were a voter, I'd get pretty bored quickly because of the whole cumbersome process of voting from one thread to the other.

Best overall poster

Best religious poster

Best non-religious poster

Best or most interesting topic.

Shikena. That, in my opinion, makes more sense embarassed
He said non-christian and irreligious. Non christians can be very religious: muslims, hindus, pagans, etc.
Irreligious are mostly atheists, deists, agnostics etc.
I have a proposition to make with regards to the winners award.

First of all it depends on what kind of award?

A realisitic award?

or

A NAiraland award?

If it is a Nairaland award, the winner must get for example a chance to have 5 of his/her topics nominated on the Frontpage.

then second winner gets 4, and so on..

If it is a realisitic award, you guyz bring up proposals.
Good ideas, but can we discuss these in mattters arising? Let's concentrate on the 4th item for now and continue chronologically. Thanks.

You just have to wonder why he bothered creating them in the first place.

2 Chronicles 13:15-18

15 and the men of Judah raised the battle cry. At the sound of their battle cry, God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. 16 The Israelites fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hands. 17 Abijah and his troops inflicted heavy losses on them, so that there were five hundred thousand casualties among Israel’s able men. 18 The Israelites were subdued on that occasion, and the people of Judah were victorious because they relied on the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

Even NL has to censor some passages.

Ezekiel 23:19-20

19 Yet she became more and more promiscuous as she recalled the days of her youth, when she was a prostitute in Egypt. 20 There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

Hosea 13:7-8

7 So I will be like a lion to them,
like a leopard I will lurk by the path.
8 Like a bear robbed of her cubs,
I will attack them and rip them open;
like a lion I will devour them—
a wild animal will tear them apart.

Nigeria should set its standards higher than killing people without trial. These are people's children and fathers and brothers. And I don't believe all of them are terrorists. If a terrorist is found guilty, kill him, but until then, their rights to life need to be protected. Let us not descend to their level.

2 - Best christian poster
3 - Best Non-christian religious poster
4 - Best thread
5 - Best Irreligious poster
I have no problem with it.

Reyginus: Lol. In your hasty attempt to redeem yourself and put me in the wrong, you ended up confusing yourself.
Atheism as we know it, holds that there is no God.
There has to be an argument that there is God for this position to be possible.
In other for atheism to exist there has to be an argument for a deity.
Can there be an awareness opposing a concept that doesn't exist or palpated?
You still fail with the bolded. Atheism doesn't oppose you. Satanism does.

P.S: See the road your big mouth led you down?
Hahaha. I had to laugh at this. Did you read that in Concord Newspaper?

Cautiously you said, "they" beat us back. I would have loved to know who those "they" are. The British, Russian, Arab League coalition? Hehehe.

You should have stood up and fought like men instead of hiring mercenaries to fight your wars. See cowards talking. I still have videos of captured yoruba soldiers crying for their lives and praying that Biafra will live in the name of jesus. Wonder when your last words are praying for your enemies before they waste you. Only Yorubas! Hausa and middle belt soldiers didn't.

Logicboy03: First and second sentence correct but....

Wrong analogy.....

A baby is an agnostic out of ignorance. He doesnt know and can not know God.

This is why I have moved my postion to say that at best, a baby is an agnostic but out of ignorance- the baby holds no opinion of the existence of God. A baby isnt born an atheist
shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked
Christianity EtcRe: How I Became An Atheist! by AlfaSeltzer(m): 9:54am On Oct 17, 2013
Reyginus: I don't think anyone is born an atheist or theist. You will have to know about a thing to even deny or accept its authenticity.
More like saying a person who is yet to hear Pidgin English spoken is against the language.
You guys still don't get it. Atheism is not being against religion. There's Satanism for that. Atheism means non-belief in your bullshit. Neither for nor against. Just doesn't believe.
Christianity EtcRe: End Of Year Awards Organisation Thread. Panel Members Only by AlfaSeltzer(op): 9:45am On Oct 17, 2013
As vote time is approaching, these are the questions we need to ponder on.

How many people can a person nominate? (1, 2 or more?)
What members can be nominated? (active, old, newly registered etc)
Can people nominate themselves? (Self-nomination)
How many nominees should be selected for vote for each award category (2 or more?)
Christianity EtcRe: End Of Year Awards Organisation Thread. Panel Members Only by AlfaSeltzer(op): 9:37am On Oct 17, 2013
Mr Troll: I understand that nomination is not voting. But you dorealise that the nominations are gonna be plenty and then we will have to cut it down to say, 5 final nominees so a persons nominee might not make the final cut and then he/she will have to vote for the finalists. That way, we make sure the nominees are not too much blah blah blah...

As for the last 2 awards, the people who voted for 5 awards should come up with something...
I am thinking, the 2 members with most nominations in each category will stand up for vote.

As for the bolded, we are a team here and as a team we adopted 5 awards. Even though some of us were against it, I think it is better if we work as a group once something has been adopted and not leave it for those that voted it as if we have factions here. Let's try and work together on this thing. Ok?

Leviticus 25:44-46

44 “‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.
