ReysonDrabek: WTF is wrong with this clown? Small fry did i ever claim james harden doesnt flop? Can you read? LMAO!
LMAO! And you thought that was your deus ex machina but unfortunately for you, you cant read. Like i said, i called harden a flopper and this dweeb was telling me how harden is just smart, now suddenly harden is a flopper again. And you dare call other people hypocrites. Shameless clown!
Man...not that I want to get into the harden debate but SmooshCHN has always called out harden here whenever he flops..
And there is no need for the fuss here...Almost all of us, (if not everyone here) has said Come post-season, harden will not get the usual calls he gets in the regular season....
SIRcumalot: Russ is out of his prime. That shot he loves to make: the one he blows pass his defender and shoots just around the free throw line. His not even making that at a decent rate anymore.
You go just dey appear dey disappear for here..lol.. ..Good to hear from you...You see wetin Russ don cause?? Dey don finish me for here
birdman: Its all about rhythm. A good PG feeds into your rhythm - Russ wants to play PG and SG and rebounder (lol), and he disrupts other roles. For example, he steals rebounds that should belong to the center. In the same token, he took away clutch shots from Durant in those close playoff games. Its not hard to see how he forces an Oladipo to take a subservient role - Oladipo is explosive, a slasher even - if you give him the ball a split second late, defense is set already, negating his strengths.
Russ is not a a good PG, simple. Its not just about racking assists...he needs to sit down this offseason and study Curry, CP3, Jason Kidd, Stockton. Instead of shouting like a mad man everytime he makes a 3 pointer.
Bro...you absolutely right...I don't have a problem if he is ready to sit down and learn how to really play that PG position from peeps like CP3, Magic, Stockton, Kidd, Nash etc but Russ is just too arrogant, proud and stubborn. ..Cos of this, I just give up defending him till he is ready to change and learn..
SmooshCHN: They said this last year. Dude shoots like Westbrook with Curry's mentality. 3yrs now he hasn't changed.
I prolly deserve all the bashing from you..You came outrightly brutal on him then and I initially used to disagree a lot with you but now I see what you were saying all this while..You were right all this while..
Eruditor: I don't want to post too much on the issue. You can do your research and find me bigging Oladipo up. When I was here showing you people how Steve Adam's had become useless, I was hearing that Russell needed to rebound the ball and run up the court bla bla. The reason Harden is in MVP talks is not because of carrying the team when whoever was out. Harden had done so before. His numbers are historic and he was consistently doing those incredible numbers for a sustained period. I still want Giannis to win it BTW, but if you are referring to last season, Harden's team had 65 wins.
Harden started to get into the conversation when the Rockets were really down with Melo and Harden had to play his heart out to bring them from the threatened low position on the table to playoff position. ..
Eruditor: LOL, Brother Aliondo, I said that with more stars your team will be no different that Victor was not as bad as his numbers suggested and that Russell should be playing more to facilitate and not heroball his way into an MVP.
I stated repeatedly that Harden's 55 win season was more significant than Russell's 47 or 46. I stated repeatedly that Harden finishing as a 3rd seed was more noteworthy and that Harden even had close to a triple double so I could not understand how the extra rebound Russell had all of a sudden made his feat more laudable. The second best player in the rockets (E Gordons at the time) is not a franchise player, but Victor Oladipo today is the reason the Pacers got swept.
Please let's be honest...I watched OKC's games that season and Russ alone cannot be blamed for Oladipo's not-so-good performance. ..Oladipo is not a bad player but he didn't really play well for us...And besides nobody (including you) foresaw that he will be this great with the Pacers...
As for Harden, the same criteria that was used for Westbrook MVP's season was one of the criteria used this season for Harden winning MVP this season , in the sense that he carried the Rockets when CP3 and Capela were out.. I'm not really a fan of triple double but you can't take anything away from history that was created and a long-term record that was broken by Russ. The
Eruditor: I made enemies on this thread because of Westbrook. When Houston beat them 4-1 2 seasons back, people said Westbrook did not have any help. Then Utah beat them 4-1 with PG, almost same excuse. Now they are most likely going to lose 4-1 to Portland and guess what? Russell is still averaging a triple double or close to it, yet no one is talking about it anymore or complaining about lack of help.
He is not entirely to blame but it is funny how what I predicted then has come full circle.
Time does fly.
Predict?? You only made a case for Harden getting the MVP, thats why maybe you made enemies and Russ might be Westbrick sometimes but he sure had a strong case for MVP that season..
I was watching basketball here and there but K.D solely made me a basketball and OKC fan...His OKC jersey is the only basketball jersey I have and I still rock it till date..
TheGiftedOne: All the Chelsea fans I know have given up on their team for this season. That sums up Chelsea's performances lately. My verdict for today's match is Chelsea 2 - 2 Burnley.
yomi96: There is something fundamentally wrong with the okc. Can you imagine harden, Westbrook, kd have one time or the other won the MVP award oo. The same thing the warriors did and their drafts became a success.
Always have headache when I think of this sometimes
Roland17: The problem of the Thunder is compounded by the way Sam Presti has assembled the roster post-Durant and this exposes the problems with Westbrook.
I look at the roster and I can see 2-3 players who are styled the same and offer nothing different. A. Roberson, J. Grant, T. Ferguson are pretty much the same type of players who offer you nothing offensively and they can all be starters. In many instances 2 out of those 3 start games for the Thunder. How about the shooting guard position? That is where there is a serious deficiency. On the roster, the SGs of the Thunder are Ferguson, Roberson and draft pick Diallo. Now tell me, can either of those 3 player shoot to save their lives worth more their teams? None of those guys average double figures on offense, yet they are shooting guards for a serious team like OKC. How about the C position? You technically have only Adams as the true center, however, we can slot Noel in that position and you ask, what have either offered the Thunder on both ends of the court? Absolutely nothing.
Sam Presti has to reshuffle this roster and create a roster that is flexible offensively and able to adapt defensively. I don't think trading Westbrook should be on the cards. All roads should lead to New Orleans for Jrue Holiday. The Thunder should speak with the Pelicans about Jrue Holiday seriously. Find a combination of Roberson, Grant, Ferguson, Noel, Felton, Schroeder and your draft picks to play for Jrue Holiday. I think the Pelicans will be inclined to listen to offers for Jrue Holiday considering A. Davies is leaving, so they may as well start rebuilding and you guys have the pieces. If Jrue comes, take the ball off Westbrook's hands and make his a SG with Jrue the PG or you play a double PG with Jrue controlling the pace and direction of play.
Always on point with your analysis. Never thought of a Jrue Holiday which will be a fantastic addition. .
But how about getting another big man that can shoot?
A40: What's the incentive for a team to pick up Westbrick's contract. He turns 31 this year and you wonder how well he would age. His player option for 2022-2023 as I posted there is $46m. $46m!
You guys are not even tanking so where are the picks that would make a team take on Westbrick?
You right bro....forgot about the age...Abeg, make him do, age quick and retire...At least we go retire him jersey...
Russ is just a necessary evil....The team may eventually falter without him (cos its built around him) but will forge stronger without him as time goes on
A40: Yes. You essentially are one injury away from a Washington Wizards situation
That was the more reason I asked if a trade is possible..Not sure I can remember any player on max been traded before but I may be wrong...will research later and check....
So if a player is on max, no possibility of been traded?
