Hello, I think you misunderstood me here. There are many Southerners, including Igbos, Yorubas, Ijaws, Itsekiris and the whole lot living in Jos today. These get along with the indigenous people. The core problem comes from the Hausa Fulani settlers who have sought to replicate their feudal nonsense here even to the extent of using Federal might, resources, connections and army to achieve that purpose. If some other people did that in your home town or village how would you take it?
guy guy hausa/fulani are not settlers in jos. they are indigenous in jos and indeed Plateau state

hausa/fulani/kanuri land are even as far as abuja, niger, kwara, kogi, cross river, lagos, osun, edo, beune, ebonyi, parts of anambra , rivers.

they might not be much in population in those states but that are indigeneous to those places

Osun to construct road to link Ogun, Lagos

The Osun State Government has awarded a contract for the construction of a road that will link the state with Ogun State through Ikoyi and Ikorodu to Lagos.
It will bypass Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Governor Rauf Aregbesola spoke on the project yesterday at a church service on the 20th anniversary of the creation of the state, at the All Saints Cathedral Church, Balogun Agoro, Osogbo.
The governor said when the road is completed, those travelling to Lagos from Osun would not experience the hectic traffic in Ibadan.
Represented by his deputy, Mrs Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, the governor reiterated the commitment of his administration to rebuild Osogbo, the state capital, and put it on world map as one of the best state capitals in the world.
Aregbesola said: “This government has awarded a contract that will connect Osun State straight to Ogun State through Ikoyi to Ikorodu and to Lagos. We will cut off Oyo State. So, we will no longer go through the rigours of traffic hold-up in Ibadan.”
The present administration, the governor said, would develop and renew Osun through road construction, among others.
He said the government had begun a renewal programme in the rural areas to show its commitment to agriculture and massive food production.
Aregbesola said Osun would tap various avenues, especially tourism, to increase its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to develop the state.
He said: “Recently, we launched O-Tour to put the state tourism on the world map because we are endowed with natural things from God and we want to ensure that we become the best state in Nigeria, especially in the area of tourism. We are determined to bring out the best in the state.
“We have 63 tourist centres in the state and we will develop all these to ensure that our IGR improves because, right now in the South-West, we have the least IGR. But within the next six months, you will all be living witnesses to what will happen.”
The governor praised the civil servants, religious leaders and traditional rulers for ensuring the development of the state since its creation.

LOl yoruba man

the passengers are clear, you see if u think well i am sure it is very clear

In southern Nigeria, you have 3 commerical capital, 1 hoilday resuiirt

lagos, warri, port harcount, cross river/calabar

Now, Yorubas are flocking in to port harcount everyday so it works well for yorubas in lagos ogun, ondo

trade point in port harcount and warri , calabar would be used by the people over there

Now here is the thinking the SS used.

by doing so it makes this cities in the SS more commericial and act as trade point. I don't care if they are igbo or not as i am not tribalist and don't intenetd to turn this to anther triabal ranting

all i know is SE is not in this so call scheme. which is good. also no igbo in SS. ecpecially port harcount , i don't know about anioma some are still fighting

i guess that is igbo buisness not mine. all i know is that it gives SS more power. and very soon the NC are doing theres from kwara to benue straight through oyo to lagos.

NW would join soon as well. Now it is up to the SE to build their's as well. unless the governors don't want to do it which is OK

what lagos state needs is a tram system not train. train is inefficent and would cost a lot of money to build

@Auwal, just give it up. Throughout history, the Hausas have never ruled non-Hausas and they have never won a war against non-Hausas. The Hausa language spread fast and far simply because it is the language of trade. I am a Borno man, our historical empire covers an area larger than today's Nigeria. We've never been militarily conquered by Europeans. God did not make me Hausa so you can't talk me or any of my people into joining an imaginary Hausa republic. We are part of Nigeria and will try to make it work. Afterall, the Kanem-Borno empire was a multi-ethnic federation much like Nigeria. We've learned to live with people of different ethnicities long before the creation of Nigeria.

All of you making noise about Kanuri, Nupe, Fulani, Hausa, etc. Nigeria wouldn't have been as it is today if those factors were considered when amalgamating. We are looking at this separation in a "Save the Future" way. Trial of course, The tribes in Arewa are much much more closer to Hausa and Fulani (whom happens to be the majority) than say Kanuri or Nupe. Almost all ethnic minorities in Arewa can speak Hausa. The idea of "Hausaland" is not to make everybody speak Hausa, but to make it clear that the land is Hausa, everyone is welcome to become a citizen in as much as he is fully qualified based on the set rules and regulations. This is very very important (A british man to spend 10 years in Hausaland can be naturalized). A very neutral set of rules and very simple way of life.
saw this late

@bolded with is the meaning of that ?

which land is hausa ? do u mean borno, niger, kwara, kogi, benue, nasawarra, plateau, gombe ,yobe, adamawa, and taraba are all hausa land ?

when did kanuri people become hausa and other like berom nupe, igala etc become hausa

saying that will make our so call freedom republic fail and people would laugh at us. AGAIN it is save to say AREWA REPUBLIC which is still tolerable than HAUSALAND.

I support ur idea but saying hausaland etc is rubbish and would make our republic fail even before inception. I hope u understand brother

Politics › Ibadan Flood: Jonathan Promises To Reconstruct Bridges, Roads by aljharem3(op): 11:58pm On Sep 03, 2011
By OLA AJAYI, Ibadan
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has promised the Oyo State Government to re-construct bridges and roads that were washed away by the flood disaster that ravaged the city last week.

The president who inspected some of the affected areas said the sight was pitiable seeing youngmen, women and children who died in the flood.

People queue to pass through a make-shift bridge after an heavy flood swept away a connecting bridge in Nigeria's south-west city of Ibadan, 150km (90 miles) north of commercial hub Lagos August 30, 2011. REUTERS
President Jonathan was accompanied by four ministers. They included Minister of Works, Environment and Water Resources. Also with the president were Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, Speaker, House of Assembly, Hon. Monsurat Sunmonu and others.

He said seeing the extent of damage done by the flood disaster, the Federal Government would assist the Oyo State Government to cushion the effects of the flood on the people of the state.

He arrived Ibadan at exactly 12.33pm at the Ibadan Airport where Governor Abiola Ajimobi went to receive him.

Before he started speaking, he created the indulgence of the people to stand up and observe a minute silence for the souls of those that perished in the disaster.

He said technical experts from the Ministry of Water Resources and the Environment should liaise with the state government to find out how the Federal Government could help Oyo State handle the disaster.

President Jonathan acknowledged the prompt response of the State Government led by Governor Ajimobi, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other agencies that did all they could to reduce the suffering of the victims.

“We inspected some places affected by the flood disaster and seen the extent of damage done by the flood disaster. They showed us the pictures of the water level and some of the dead bodies recovered. It is a natural disaster. We pray that God would give the state and families of victims the fortitutde to bear the loss.

“On the part of the FG, we commend the Director General of NEMA and other staff who intervened very quickly and also the state government for prompt response. While NEMA will be assisting in the distribution of relief materials to cushion the effects, we ask the technical experts from the Ministry of Works, Water Resources and Ministry of Environment to come and look at the affected places. The FG would assist in constructing the bridges, culverts and roads that had been washed out. The sight is quite pitiable especially seeing the video clips” the president said.

The visit of the president almost led to fracas between members of the Action Congress of Nigeria and the Peoples Democratic Party.

At the Airport, when the President was about taking off, two groups of women from both parties engaged each other in abusive songs. When it seemed the heat was so much and tension heightened, security agencies had to ask one of the groups to move away to avoid open confrontation.

Earlier, Governor Ajimobi described the president as a caring and supportive person.

He recalled that the State and the South West as a whole had not witnessed that type of flood before.

Globacom has commiserated with the government and people of Oyo State over last weekend’s flood disaster in Ibadan, the state capital.

Speaking through its Executive Director, Human Resources, Mr Adewale Sangowawa, the company charged the people of the state to regard the incident as an act of God.

Meanwhile, the company has donated a toll free line through which the people of the state could contact government and its agencies in order to give information and seek aid.

The toll free line 07056990012 was issued through the company’s Public Sector Department and, according to Mr. Tunde Amunikoro, head, Public Sector Globacom, the line will attract no charges when called from any number.

By AUSTIN OGWUDA, Asaba

ALL medical doctors in Delta State government-owned hospitals on temporary appointment who joined their colleagues in the on-going strike action have been told to regard their appointment terminated.

Similarly, doctors on permanent appointment that are on strike would not be paid while the action lasts.

Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the state Ministry of Health, Mr. Churchill Oyowe, in a press release, at the weekend, stated:”T he state government has adopted the policy of no-work-no-pay for all categories of doctors in government-owned hospitals currently on strike, under the name Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners.

“The government equally said all unconfirmed doctors joining the strike action have by such act terminated their appointment with the Hospital Management Board (HMB). The Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Otumara, gave these notices when he visited Central Hospitals Warri and Agbor as well as General Hospitals Ekpan and Orerokpe, to personally take count of doctors not on their duty posts.

“The Permanent Secretary’s enforcement of the signing of attendance register by doctors is a routine that is practised everywhere in the service and doctors should not see themselves as above the rules, stressing that the intention was to strengthen service delivery in the hospital”.

The association had, in a petition signed by its chairman , Dr. E.F. Oshonwoh and secretary, Dr. R.O.C. Ikwuogu, stated that “the association in an emergency meeting at Baptist Hospital Eku on the 16th August, 2011, reviewed the Board (Hospital Management Board) policy on doctors signing time book and saw the deficiency in the said policy as it is not workable in a clinical setting.”
