Beaf: You can argue that the FG needs to help the states, but it is not an obligation. Is English a difficulty to you, sir?
--off topic-- Dude, why don't you change your user name? Alj harem rhymes too much with boko haram. brother, another trash why is the FG not obligated to help those states. or can those state generate enough revenue for such projects what is the minister of WORKS for brother so the FG would rather allow the states to sink rather than invest ti money to save those states |

DaLover: Guy have u bin to bayelsa at all? Making the loudest noise does not meen u have the greatest problem,
Ordinarily, there sould be no problem with the FG pitching in to assist the Lagos govt, but considering that so much has been poured into Lagos on this same coastline issue, the scarce resources at hand and the fact that other states have more pressing issues means that it be very umreasonable to commit another FG kobo to Lagos coastline,
With the way the lagosians boast about lagos, revenue should be flowing from lagos to the national cofers. The smart Fashola and Tinubu should be able to generate revenues from the coastline that can be ploughed back to regenerate or protect the coastline. to the national cofers. The smart Fashola and Tinubu should be able to generate revenues from the coastline that can be ploughed back to regenerate or protect the coastline. my brother rubbish talk lagosians boast because the LAGOS IS TRANSFORMING TO AN ECONOMIC HUB OF AFRICA who told u fashola and tinubu are smart ? even the EKO ATLANTIC is not for SG or fashola but banks in lagos Now if rivers, cross river etc are sinking would it not make sense for the FG to do something about it before it becomes worse NOT ONLY LAGOS do not defend FG on this just because it is not the ur state. This is a national issue, and as such from lagos to cross river, balysea, rivers, delta etc then FG needs to do something about it chekena |

Sun of god: So despite all the money Fashola/Tinubu are wasting on spurious projects they want the FG to step in and save Lagos from going underwater?
Does Lagos share the tax revenues they raise with the FG?
If the answer is no then they need to solve this problem themselves - or learn to live with it.
Bottom line is Fashola/Tinubu do not have their priorities in order - and the people of Lagos will suffer for it.
The noise they are making is an attempt to shift blame for their incompetence onto the FG. no brother. more than 75% of lagos revenue is from tax as u well know. right! now majority of the tax collected goes to the FG from MMIA and Seaport etc goes to the FG etc and other FG peristalsis that did not move to the FCT in 1996 or so |

Beaf: Stop being silly. It is not the duty of the FG to save the Lagos coastline; afterall every other state has problems. The FG can pitch in for humanitarian reasons, but not because governing Lagos is part of its remit. i knew u would bring that silly talk if balysea is been swallowed up by the ocean, would jonathan not help them or do u think the state funds would be enough to build adequate infrasturtures to stop the ocean where did u leave ur brain today ? or when new york was having the ocean critise, the FG did not pinich in what are u saying ? Andre Uweh: My point here is that it is wrong for people to chastise Ohanaeze for no just cause. Forget about what Lagos, Abuja, Anambra etc branches of Ohanaeze says, what matters most is what comes out of No 7 park Avenue Enugu. In this case, they have never issued any communique on state creations. As you will not be happy if someone insults your father, so will Igbo people not feel happy if Ohanaeze is insulted. Someone asked if am a member of Ohanaeze. I am just like any other Igbo. Once you are born Igbo, you are automatically a member of Ohanaeze. You can not run away from it. My brothers, respect. sorry can you elaborate on the highlighted part does that mean u and i are part of ohaneze ? lol |

harakiri: Er, what have non-violent protesters (who weren't protesting when they were unlawfully arrested) got to do with well known terrorists who have killed, maimed and destroyed property worth billions? What has MASSOB got in common with people who fill the newspapers with stories of death and carnage on a daily basis. The Northern Elite want this country to disintegrate? Fine! They will get it. I sincerely hope they remember where the shipping ports are to export their products. Last time i checked, there is no sea port out there. Dem go starve die! Una neva know anything. Even Allah will shy away from them when he sees how impoverished they've become. my brother lets reason here yes i agree with you on the non- violent nature of massob which is a plus for that but you also have to agree with me that they have one thing in common, that is, they are both liable for treason in the court of law. agree! Now Gej sent a wrong message when he allow the october bombing to go away just because his people were the ones bombing and as such Boko haram did the same i mean 5 times worse. ( Not that i support the group in any form) Now when Gej release massob member, he is also sending a bad message to the country that a group/ organisation liable for treason can also get a release from an order form above. well a state as well did the same, you people are complain you see we are in a very bad period in this country where EVERY ACTION of the Mr president is been watched and replicated . the President should do the right thing always and as such would be found blameless |

…sets 20 other prisoners free. By AbdulSalam Muhammad, Kano. KANO-Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has ordered security agencies in the state to release suspected members of the Yusufiyya Movement, popularly known as Boko Haram, as well as other sect members who are currently in their custody. Gov Kwankwaso gave the directive during an interview with newsmen after granting unconditional pardon to no fewer than 20 prisoners in the state. He stated that there was no justification whatsoever for the continued detention of the members of the religious sect. Kwankwaso declared that at no time did the state government ever authorize any security agency to arrest or detain any member of any religious group. “As a government, we consider all Islamic and Christian religious sects the same. It is the duty of government to embrace all religious groups toward peaceful coexistence among citizens,”. Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso further said the state government was unaware of the alleged arrest of any member of any religious group, neither did the state government ordered the detention of members of the Islamist group. “But if there is any member of the sect in detention, I am hereby calling on the security agencies to either release or charge such person to court within the time stipulated by the Constitution,” he said. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/08/kwankwaso-orders-release-of-detained-boko-haram-members/ |
