1. Not necessarily true because many of such men marry beneath so they can have some sort of upper hand in the relationship. You will rarely find a rich man who will marry an equally rich woman of same intelligence because they are afraid of the possible competition.

2. Logically, no man should look for a broke woman to many particularly with the economy of the world were it is today and where it is headed. Unfortunately, a greater number of Nigerian men who marry beneath them do so for the sake of their egos and not because they are really vested romantically in the woman.

There used to be advantage in hypogamy but not anymore. Marrying down is very dangerous contemporarily, a lady who brought nothing to ur house other than her Veejay sees u as her last hope in life, she can kill anyone including u just to keep ur wealth for herself and her children or keep u jinxed for life through the help of sorcerers.

I was watching a prank video on YouTube where a guy pretended to be an ice cream selling and tried to asked some girls out to see if anyone would give him a chance. Only about 2 girls out if like 12 he approached gave him their number. What I noticed in the comments section were comments of guys saying the two girls who gave him their number were real women and that the others were fake. I've seen a lot of guys even on nairaland here with such stuupidd mentality. In my religion (Islam), God did not disallow the practice of polygamy, He only reduced the number of wives to maximum of four (4) wives (Quran 4 verse 3).

Although, I may not be able to convince you about the legality and permissibility of Polygamy, but at least I'm sure you're convinced that man will certainly revert to polygamy in the end times as prophesied in the Bible. Prophet Isaiah gave account of what will happen without condemning the practice because the Lord Himself will make men scarce. Which means that man shall be forced to embrace polygamy whether we like it or not.

Polygamy which wasn't God's plan from the onset, turned out to be God's plan in the end time.
