So you could use the Humanitarian Reinstatement to apply for a waiver. Note is is a discretionary benefit, so you need to prove this well. I'd suggest contacting a good immigration lawyer who has proof of successful waivers that were approved. Especially since you have already informed nvc.

Your brother would still need to meet the I 864 form conditions to be your sponsor.

You also need death certificate.

By the way are you DQ yet and just waiting for interview?
At least with the ban you have time to get this approved whilst your PD is not current

I believe there's a waiver you can apply for. To see if your eligible. Let me find out. I do of a lady who was still approved though her Dad had died.

I do think you have up to 1 year to upload documents and pay fees.
It's definitely not 2 weeks or 3 months.
I didn't respond to mine till about 4 months.

Then you are said to be DQ when you're documents and fees have been accepted

Medicals do not come till your PD current on the main list and you have been contacted by your consulate with a date for Interview. In the letter you will be told where to do medicals

Please, once the "Filing date" reaches one's priority date, how long does an applicant have to make payment of visa application fees and the affidavit of support fee?
And also the time frame to submit all necessary documents.

I heard a few unverified info about it being between 1 to 2 weeks, and another saying within three months, plus when medical is expected to be done.

Firstly, see her as a human being and a partner in the union, away from her profession.
What you put in is what you get out of the relationship.

Enjoying quality family time depends on the nature of her job. If she's a Medical Officer (government appointment), she would most definitely work shift, which isn't a situation that can't be managed.

Residency on the other hand demands a lot, and that's where making time for the family may be a challenge, and if she is unfortunate to either find herself in a unit with very few resident colleagues couple with huge patient work load or finds herself under the supervision of a very difficult and lazy Consultant, you must force yourself to understand that you JUST MUST Fill the gap for her.
Little things like managing the kids and taking care of certain home/family situations without having to wait for her coming home late in the might to attend to such goes a very long way in making her feel blessed getting married to you.

Importantly, don't forget that scaling through the hurdles of Part 1 and Part 2 exams, whether National or West Africa (depending on her area of speciality) is critical for you guys to know if you are both in for a short or Very Long Ride.
