I think it's a matter of principle. Let's not forget that some tenants become difficult after moving in, breaching the conditions surrounding their contracts... and again, some Landlords/ladies sees owning a house as the height of all achievements not minding that being a tenant is only a step to becoming a house-owner too. Adhere to whatever agreements you both had before moving in (while expecting the worst from him/her to avoid surprise or disappointment). And if things get out of hand, don't wait until your rent expires before you make a move. For me, PEACE is the deal. I'd give anything to have it, even if it's a couple of bucks in rent.

If I may ask. Was it a specialist that attended to you? I'm just curious because if your situation was handled by a consultant surgeon at a teaching hospital, the complication should have been manageable. Like I said, sometimes, complications do occur but sadly I'm not a doctor and I don't encourage herbal concoction. 5 Years is a long time. Please, if you have not visited a teaching hospital, do so. General hospital is not bad, but you get to meet with more Specialists at a Teaching Hospital. I wish you well friend.

My brother, did you do sitz bath after the procedure? Did your doctors recommend that as well because its meant to help prevent infections?

I think understanding that bodies work differently and reacts to herbs/medications differently is important. You can't treat headache and Migraine the same way. It's not bad to visit "Alagbo" or "Elewe omo" as they call them or to share the herbal concoctions that worked when you had a similar experience.
Pile/Haemorroids appears in stages. The early stage, you notice that tiny little flesh that comes out during stool and goes back in the moment you are through.
The size increases with time (maybe owing to your ignorance to seek med help or at a time when your herbs might work) and you feel it during your visits for bowel movements.
It may get to a stage where you begin to notice blood stains on your stool and its painful to clean up as your hand touches the now-sensitive flesh. All this time, this extra flesh may still be going in once you are done in the toilet.
It gets to a point that it stops getting back in on its own and it relies on you to push it in.
Not trying to scare you at this point but it graduates to a point where it starts to peep even when you are outdoor and you'd need to cleverly find a way to adjust yourself.

I discovered that I had pile during my secondary School days (2014). I didn't even know this has been on me for long, until I went to defecate with a friend of mine in the bush. Immediately he saw that red flesh coming out on my anus. He shouted "What is this!!". That was when I knew I had PILE.

Look at it from this angle. You've said nothing about your qualification. What if hubby is against you working because your present qualification isn't gonna earn you something meaningful (try imagine an SSCE holder acting as a sales rep/shop attendant- Peanuts).
Secondly, no one knows if the marriage was properly/legally contracted (with full parental consent- for them not to have listened to you, instead asking you outrightly to obey every of his wishes), and also the nature of your hubby's job (if always around or mostly away for weeks/months/years). Out of concerns for the family, he may not like to have strangers under the guise of househelps in his house.

I am not against women taking up employment. I support it because it empowers both parties in the management of the home. In fact, it should be a thing of pride when your wife is doing well.
