There's a reason I mentioned Abeokuta in particular. Before my Abk experience, I've eaten Yoruba foods from my Yoruba friends from Ibadan, Osun, and they were the normal spicy foods like the Igbo ones. No difference at all. But that was till I lived in Abeokuta. Mehn, their spicy game is on another level.

First day I ate stew at Abk, after 5 spoonful of rice, I've finished two satchet water. No kidding. My tongue was on fire. I avoided that woman's food till after 3 months when I had gotten used to Abk spicy foods.

I lived in Abk for a year. Within one month of my stay there, my taste buds hear am wella. I had very low tolerance for spicy foods so it was hell for me. I used to shed tears after eating their rice and stew.


But I'm happy for the exprience, it toughened me up, and now I have high tolerance for pepperish foods.
