It is your count, You can’t lose count…..
Start counting a day after you lodged the money and print from that same day (a day after the big deposit)

thanks for all you do.

my question:
after i got my unconditional offer, my school ask me to show POF before getting CAS .. My POF which was in my spouse acct was ready to go but upon sending to school , i was told it has to be in my own acct as the MA. so i had to move it and then wait 28days.
while waiting i sent a mail to school asking for deposit details so i can just run that during the wait but got a response saying they have not ask me for any deposit and that i have no such conditions to fulfil.
Now i have applied for my visa and biometrics is ds week.... i just want to double check bcs of how i see everyone talking about deposit - is it that some school don't require deposit while others ask...

- yes you can use an MFB but make sure it is insured by NDIC and licensed by CBN (check CBN site to see if it is listed)
- when you deposit your POF (maintenance fund remainder of tuition) in the account, wait for 28 solid days before printing.
Now, after printing on the 29th or 30th day, you must use the statement printed before 31 days elapsed

It is a process in stages, the biometrics booking stage will come when you get there.
Meanwhile, answer all questions correctly, pay your fees (IHS - depends on your course duration; Visa fee is fixed)

As soon as you decide to choose VI, you pay d 55 along with your visa fee n IHS while the 42k is paid at their office on your chosen (since you ve chosen walk-in) date of biometrics

@ where you took the initial test, ask for a reprint and present the new address.
Note, I understand with or without the change, your visa is guaranteed provided all other Ts are crossed and Is dotted

It is advisable for someone to submit visa application without TB test result and then submit the TB test result at a later date.

The date that my brother was booked for TB test is 30Th of this months.

If per adventure, your visa application precedes your TB test, you can personally as a matter of urgency get to IOM’s office and explain your predicament and that you need the result urgently.
They should attend to you, meanwhile, prepare like you would get the test done whenever you going

Upon my documents upload during my visa Application, I uploaded my CAS letter as *Evidence of Sponsor* after the upload and submission. I realized that it could mean a certificate from someone's sponsor like Parents, etc. Meanwhile I am self sponsored.

I hope it won't generate a problem for me I have already uploaded my POF in my account and other docs.

Your CAS is also a sort of certificate of sponsor and since you are self-sponsoring and you ve uploaded your POF and other necessary document, put your mind at rest.
Little mix up here n there can always be overlooked as long as your document are genuine

If you are coming in into the UK, especially as a student or a dependent, you need to get these ASAP in your first days of entering to give you some sort of soft landing

BRP
NIN (National Insurance Number)
Bank Account
Proof of Address (Accommodation)

These four above will ease your life greatly in your first few days / weeks. Meanwhile, getting no.4 is not for the faint hearted especially for a family.


1. BRP is already waiting for you in your chosen location (post office or school)

2. NI you apply online via the almighty gov . uk site with your BRP n other docs (it takes weeks 1-16 max to be issued the number and very easy steps to navigate)

3. Bank account : thank God for online banks, those old generation banks (HSBC,Lloyds, RBS etc) will ask you to bring your ancestral land allocation form from God
Nevertheless, you still need them big time in your journey of life in d UK.

4. Accommodation start browsing these sites
Rightmove
Gumtree
Zoopla
Open rent (you interact with property owners directly but beware of scammers fronting as landlords)
Facebook market etc (beware of scammers)
Word of mouth
Friends and family connect

You can get your accommodation sorted right while still in 9ja. I know some who did thru a known agent.
Meanwhile, You might need the following if eventually you get a letting agent or a landlord who is ready to rent a property to you.
- a UK based guarantor (a citizen or homeowner or both)
- a deposit fee (just like refundable caution fee for 9ja)
- an holding fee (to get the property off market; refundable)
- a month rent

NOTE If these sites don’t give you what you want, then have your minimum of 6 months rent ready

Opportunities abound but Chinese, Indians and others are taking over.

Prepare and plan adequately

A very big and loud CONGRATULATIONS going out to those who just got their visas.
Living in the UK is another kettle of fish but with adequate preparation (no matter how small), you will quickly adapt
- You need a smart phone. It’s somehow cheaper to fix (if faulty or get a new one) all your gadgets n devices in 9ja b4 leaving for the UK
- Familiarise yourself to maps on your phone.You can’t move around without a guide (map), unless you ve relatives or friends who are ready to be doing that
- Read up on my earlier post quoted above for to-do

To those still expectant, it shall surely come. Try and do your due diligence and your passport will be stamped.
The UK has many different visa routes and this only signifies they have opened up their space to qualified individuals - just make yourself qualified in any category you wish to use and you good to get a visa.

Some people even use 700 due to fluctuations lol

I had my biometrics on 20th April 2022, made paid call was told that decision has been taken waited for few days made paid mail and was given 15 working days for feedback after some days got a mail from the school that brp card is ready for collection and yet to get my passport returned to TLS, lectures has started and am the online one left to arrive to the UK because passport haven't returned, I have been to TLS on 3 different occasions but I kept on hearing same message passport isn't ready. That's the reason why I asked the question. I have heard a series of stories of how Asians (Indians especially) are trooping into the UK the same way Nigerians are getting in.

My opinion is that Nigerians should build a sustainable community where we can coexist and demand better living. Every country has a bad side, a particular country shouldn't be segregated and punished. The UK government is making tons load of money from Nigerians and it's time their government starts treating us well.

To be allowed in, officially, it has to be a month b4 your course start date.
Even at that, there will be a ‘valid from’ date b4 which you can’t enter.

For formal, you will be the one that ll get tired of applying; same also goes for rejection due to UK experience.
For menial, there are many, once you get in, get your BRP, register for NI and check out recruitment agencies close to you, check indeedFlex, CVLibrary, etc

Good question, the Indians along with some Middle East and South Asians are all in this criminal boats but the Minister who is of Indian heritage signs with 9ja.
Let’s wait if he will sign same with other nations (or maybe they have such treaties already) too and especially India, his motherland.
The Indian immigrants see other immigrants from other countries as competitors, most especially Nigerians
Recruit 1 Indian into a company and come back 6 months after to see them take over almost every aspect of the company.

The truth is, the UK economy isn’t doing fine and these immigration routes are ingenious ways of keeping the economy going - use n dump mentality.
They collect your school fee, IHS, and all collectibles then after your studies if you not smart or lucky enough to stay legally, they push you out
That’s why you have to plan adequately with different options so you don’t get stranded
