As soon as it matures, apply, pay all necessary fees, do walk-in for your bio, wait for UKVI and if any delays happen, contact your school - they can give you one or two weeks extension

After securing your student route visa

- get to uk and apply to other European countries for holiday or short stay to have good travel histories
- Explore other countries immigration policies and you would be surprised others have far better policies. Covid and other factors have opened up these peoples economies eg Australia, New Zealand, Canada, US

Your CV should include your service year, even your freelancing can be skills gained or learned

I got a NSF email yesterday asking me to explain my 9 years study gap.

I worked with an organisation for four years, (I have the appointment letter and all) but quit in 2018 due to pregnancy and baby nursing. I nursed from 2018 without employment but opened my own private business in 2020. I hope mentioning the business and nursing will not be a red flag that me deny me visa. I intend to mention all in the reply.

Nursing a baby isn’t a red flag for mothers (maternity)
Get a comprehensive CV explaining all your gaps with concrete employment evidence n biz (biz name registration n account etc)
The ECO has the discretionary power here

In 2019, An agent tried helping me get a Canadian tourist visa, I gave him all the requested documents but I think he ended up adding some fraudulent documents to the application and I take full blame for that as I knew little or nothing about the system at that time having just returned from Malaysia where I did my undergraduate. Blame me the more if you like though. I earned a 5 years Canadian entry ban because of that incident.

Now I intend to apply for my postgraduate in the UK hopefully by January 2023 intake. What are my chances? I intend to disclose it during the application but because some schools won’t refund deposit if visa is denied, I want to be sure of my chances before even beginning.

A ban is different from a refusal.
Very few school will give you CAS with refusal not to talk of a ban
With UKVI, past refusal is not a problem but a ban - it can go either ways

Yes you can both apply, get your visa, the MA travels ahead while the partner dependant wait till the child’s visa is out and then travel to UK together - include the child in your application

Write to their finance office, copying every other department of your willingness to discontinue with the process (hope they didn’t state nonrefumdable)

Your preferred TLS centre does the document upload for you at a price on the day of your biometrics
28 days is the minimum, it is always better to be more than but if time isn’t on your side, start counting a day after you deposited the huge fund

My question now is that the school sent us a CAS shield form to fill, so as to obtain CAS number. Should we declare in the form he's bringing his family along? And like how much should be in the financial statement to upload on the CAS form, if he's going to fill only him?

Declare everyone travelling with the MA.
Though, the CAS shield process can be rigorous, but once the school gives you a clean bill as per they are your sponsor, your visa application will be a walk-in-the-park.

Use Oanda rate (£ to $) it might not be accurate due to fluctuations but the difference will just be fractions.
Or 2350 multiplied by 1.25 to 1.35

This is from experience over the years and it’s a personal opinion

You ll get your visa irrespective of which centre you use, however, there are reasons for choosing one above the other

ABJ : less crowded during peak period, good customer service, speedy decision made (8/10)

How many people do travel outside our shores up North? Majority of those using Abuja are still from the South.

VI : could be a bit crowded during peak period, good customer service, timely decision made (7/10)

Ikeja : usually crowded during peak period, average customer service, slow decision made (6/10)

The reason for the rush and slow turn around time for the Lagos centres are that too many people intending to travel and these centres basically serve Southern part of the country
