Part of the reason why we have not progressed beyond this point in Nigeria is that we have a populace that is Mentally LAZY, and refuse to leave the land of egypt because they will not have onions and lentils to eat.

Stop comparing apples and Oranges.

The NNPC is an income generating Entity, purposefull created to MAKE mONEY FOR nIGERIA. Even Dangote will be able to Run NNPC marvelously.

The Ministry of Works is a Federal Entity Designed to Over see Infrastructural Development in Nigeria, an Expert Needs to be in Charge Here, Not a Lawyer.

Ceteris Paribus.

Apples and Oranges Bro, Apples and Oranges.....Thats what you are comparing. An Engineer does not build a House, A Builder does that. That is why we have Building Technology Studied in School, the fact that some people assume that you need an Engineer to build a house in Nigeria doesnt menat that is the Proper Thing. If you want to build a bridge, You call an Engineer, If you want to plan Infrastructure, You call an Engineer, Not an Architech, Not a Doctor, not a Lawyer. You call an Engineer to plan, design, build and manage your Infrastructure for you, That, among manay other reasons is Why an Engineer should be the Minister of works in Nigeria. So, who is the one that is not using comon sense now...Bro?

Placing Square pegs in Square holes is one of the signs of sanity in a system or Individual.

The Act of placing Administrators who have no experience or professional qualification in Engineering Infrastructure Design, Management and Construction as Ministers of Works should Stop.

This action has been part of the reason why the Ministry of works has over the years lacked the Strategic Direction to help in Infrastructural development in Nigeria.

We are in an Era of Change, and this Change should be reflected in the Professional Competence and relevance of anybody appointed as a Minister of Works.

There is no way you will make an Engineer a Minister of Justice, or a Minister of Health.. What Reasons does the Government of Nigeria have for making a Lawyer a Minister of Works in Nigeria?

This is not acceptable, and we demand Change!!!!

Partly true, you can have your HND or your Tech Cert, but that doesnt mean you have the skills. There are Mechanical Engineering graduates who cannot compete with some 'uneducated mechanics' when it comes to the nitty gritties of the workings of vehicles, the engineering graduates can quote all the theories and theorems in the world, but the mechanic has the requisite skills.
The difference is that one is a paper engineer while one is a skilled technician.
Same way one can say i am a political scientist but do not know the number of local govts in his state, or the arithmetic involved in Nigerian election process, or the geopolitical zones in the country. But ask an 'ordinary' grassroot politican these questions and he will surprise you with how much he knows.
So, at the end, certificates do not weigh much, even recruiters have come to realize this, what matters is what you bring to the table
Hello,

Apologies for calling you out, but I keep seeing statements like yours all over the place pretending to Know what mechanical engineering is all about. If you dont know, Mechanical Engineering is very different from what auto technicians do. Automobile Engineering is a small aspect of Mechanical Engineering, The Fact that someone graduates college as a Mechanical Engineer does not mean that person has any special Knowledge about automobiles. There are way more interesting specialties under Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineers are different from Mechanics, who are mostly taken to be people who tinker with machines, not necessarily automobiles. So please stop spewing ignorance in attempting to seem informed on what Professionals should Know how to do.

those guys representing us work for firstbank and digitalencode
they have day to day tasks to meetup with at their respective places of work

those whom they will compete with have much higher IQs, members of mensa.org, they build security systems, compilers, decompilers, operating systems and spend 18 hours daily researching and creating things that never existed.

all those 5 guys do is probably hack with python, java, php,js. a system built and contributed to by those they will be up against

laughing very hard grin
Hello,

You are correct in some of your assertions, But I belive there is no way you can conclusively know if they had lower IQs compared to Those you think are better than them. I think its an insult, and a form of intellectual harakiri to judge the book based on the cover. The fact that they are not white does not mean they have lower IQs, or will not be able to beat ''Mensa'' champions. Just Saying.

Hello House,

I think the OP should calm down and create a career plan, not plot to destroy other's careers. It is the height of idiocy and political naivety to attempt to outshine your direct supervisor, who should be your don, and you the consiglieri or at least caporegime. You guys should be collaborators and not competitors, your manager should see you as his ''boy'', his protege, and not a threat. That is how all the greats did it. Smarten up, be ambitious, but dont be stupid, or envious. Life is unfair, deal with it, the higher you go, the less technical your job becomes, the more managerial and coded it becomes.

To the ethinic Jingoists, have you eaten today?......

Yorubas are not disloyal, we are just pragmatists, and dont like to lose. It is the height of Folly to epeople to serve you at their own detriment, If the story changes, the terms have changed. Be pragmatic.

Igbo people are also practical people, they are not arrogant or envious, they are just ambitious and also hate losing.

We are all human beings first, dont let us colour human weakness with ethnicity.

@OP,

as an aside, if you have read my post, you will realize that it is pointless to ''dump'' that babe, take it or leave it. If she is an ''asset'', then just forgive her, and move on, and i think for you to have even considered marrying her, you think she is. So, just Work on her, and hope for the best.
RomanceRe: See What Distance Relationship Has Caused Me! by alpontif(m): 3:11pm On Aug 25, 2015
I personally dont like commenting on relationship issues, but I just feel a need to educate some of our people here on the True Realities of Any Relationship.

(A).For the Guys:

1. The Only Girl,Lady or woman that will not cheat on you is the one that has never had sex.
2. Women Can ''Love'' you, and still sleep with another guy, or guys.
3. Women have no Idea what they want, so they are always searching for something better.
4. If Your Babe is beautiful, she is getting toasted at least 5 times in a month, that is 60 times in a year.
5. There is no disvirgined Babe that can resist Toasting 60 Times by the Class of guys they generally like.
6. Women are generally attracted to Very well dressed, Cool,Classy, Mouthed Guys. Not Necessarily handsome, sometimes Loaded.
7. Your Woman will cheat on you. Deal with it, or do not attempt to know.
8.The ''holier'', ''saintlier'' your woman, the more gullible she is to proffesional players.
9. The fact that she tells you whoever toasts her does not mean she wouldnt cheat on you.
10.Finally, it is not cheating if both of you guys are not married. Forget about the contrary.

In a relationship, ignorance is pure bliss, you are better off not snooping around, because you will come across something you dont like, and you wouldnt be able to deal with it. Everybody is seeing Everybody else, so long as you guys are not virgins. Curiosity kills the cat. what you dont know, wouldnt hurt you.

Therefore, Just assume the worst, and have a free mind. Do not Take relationships serious, else you are gonna just kill yourself.
FamilyRe: My Daughter Was Nearly Molested Yesterday By A Male Teacher! by alpontif(m): 2:52pm On Aug 20, 2015
Thread with caution. The parent should calm down first, then do the following:

1. Report to the school Principal, fo rrecord purposes, you will now set up the teacher.

2. Mandate the principal not to disclose report to anybody.

3. HIRE the said teacher as the home lesson teacher of that your kid, at home.

4. Make sure that there is a dedicated room for this ''lesson'' teachings.

5. Install child monitoring cameras, and other surveilance devices in discreet places in that room.

6. On the first day of lesson, be firendly to the teacher, go out of the HOUSE, make sure the teacher KnOWS you are out of the House.

7. If the teacher is a perv, before a week runs out , you will have video or audio evidence of him attempting to molest your daughter.

8. With that eveidnce, you can now proceed to treat his Bleep up as recommended by Nairalanders.

9. Kids are way more cunning than people think, for the very fact that people underestimate their craftiness or ability to lie creatively, you can never rule out the possibility that the kid is up to something, but by setting up the teacher, you get eveidence that what the kid is saying is the truth

Yoruba dominating the oil and gas industry is a farce just like saying Yoruba dominating education sector we know its a farce, i can give Yoruba the dominating power in agbero, taxi driving and agbo selling space. I give it to them, that aside. The Niger Deltans are daft to me, instead of finding a niche in the energy market they reorted to touting, bunkering, vandalization and restiveness. These ijaw dudes prefer canoe to library. They prefer AK 49 to Dictionary now tell me why wont they be dominated by others. Just like the abokki today is been dominated in economic space.
Niger Deltans wake up and stop been creeky and swampy in your attitude. I repeat apart from focused Aniom, Annang, Efiks and Oron with Ndoni others are just daft
Life is about Perception, and people act based on widely accepted perceptions, not on proven facts. It is the perception of the Niger Deltans that Yorubas dominate the industry, I cannot but address them back in the language of their perception. That aside, whether you sell agbo, or you drive taxis, the point is that you are working, you do not have an entitlement mentality. That entitlement mentality is what is destroying Niger delta people. If you are a Contractor on a project among them, Labour will be imposed on you, at their own rates...will a sane business man want to locate his business there? These are people that are perceived to be layabouts who just sit around drinking kaikai, waiting for the next pipeline to Intentionally vandalize, cause oil spillage on purpose, then sue shell for environmental degradation. These same set of people after having a whole Federal Ministry, NDDC, Scholarships, Highest Federal Allocation, Years at the Presidential Level, Community Projects by MNCs etc, are still demanding that every oil and gas project be located in their zone, inspite of their tendencies towards violence and vandalization, are Business Men Idiots?

such idiotic hubris...are you more educated than the average niger deltan? Because years of nepotism has stacked the commercial sector in your region's favour has you deluding yourself in a fools paradise that somehow you are above others.
Bro, I Feel your pains, But we are not here to discuss my level of education. We are here to discuss the pointlessness of the attitude of Niger Deltans to the reources in their zone, and why such belligerent attitude will only drive away investors more.

See, Bro, Everything is strategic. The Wise Knows this, and adapts to the times. The Fool ignores this, and continues to ''fight'' for their rights. That is the Basic Difference between the Jews and the Arabs. Back in the Roman Empire, Jews formed the first terrorist/suicide/guerilla movements to Liberate Jerusalem and Israel from the clutches of the Romans....This approach ultimately resulted in the destruction of Jerusalem, and the evacuation of Jews from the homeland. That resulted into the the dispersion of Jews across the world, making them an homeless group of people until the 1940s. The other result is the widespread persecution of Jews in Europe and across the western world.

When Jews saw this, and the effect of their pointless violence against the Roman State, They adapted. Jews entered the Business world big time, They went into the scientific world, they went into the world of Investment banking, money lending etc. This means they had access to the best education possible, and they ultimately controlled the economy of the western world then. Examples abound including the Rothschilds, The Mediccis, etc. who all have jewish roots. Ultimately what you ll discover in contemporary times is that Jews control the Economy of the world, via vast Capitalist interests and organizations, and they also dominate the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Medicine. These are facts. THIS power gives them the ability to influence world politics on a global scale, and that ability led to the creation of the state of Israel.

They essentially invaded the place, and overthrew the occupiers at that time( The Palestinian Arabs)... The Question you should now ask me is this, what has the Arabs been doing Since the Occupation?

The Arabs Protested, They resorted to Violence, The resorted to direct Confrontation, They alienated the west. How has that Helped them?.........It has not helped them to recover Palestine, it has only exacerbated their suffering.

Why cant they copy the Jews?.........I dont Know.

Niger Deltans are also making that mistake. Know this, Politics, or Power is amoral. People will not serve you at their own detriment. As long as Niger deltans think Violence is the Only way, certain stakeholders among them will continue to benefit to the detriment of the larger populace of Niger Deltans, and Yoruba People will Continue to dominate the industry. If Justice is Blind, Business is Eagle eyed.

Thats just the way life works bro. Sit up and deal with It.

I agree with you, and I have been saying this for years. The African Needs To go through a Renaissance period. The Renaissance brought out the Europeans from the Middle ages. The African Society is still stuck in at the primitive stage of cultural evolution..we are just barely above the bronze age in terms of anthropological reality.

We need a renaissance that will bring our societies into the Information Technology Age.

Showing concern is a lot of help already.
Just before she died, I prayed that God should allow me take her place and spare her life. She smiled and asked me "what kind of life do you expect me to live without you'. Now I ask myself that same question. Am now cold and indifferent to life despite the smile I wear like a mask. l have lost my peace and I try to bury my sorrow in my work. But the pain still shows through the window in my eyes. Death is a better substitute to this pain that I can't even explain or describe. Love can cause so much pain even as it can give joy.
It is well as I try to surrender my feelings and my wife to Jehovah, the All knowing creator.
I agree with you sir, Love can cause indescribable levels of pain.........I used to argue that fact, I have never even fallen in Love before, until I met a babe months ago...she is fine and all...but the surprising thing is that in spite of certain attributes that I have never accepted in any woman before her...I still have this deep feeling for her....That caught me unaware. That was how i knew that I am in Love, and it is very painful. I look at those negative attributes, and my brain is telling me to get out of her life, But the heart is saying another thing. Love is not Funny, it is one of the most painful Feelings one can ever have..It even made me understand how God must have felt when Jesus was Crucified, and I even now understand Gods love for Man, which makes him to look beyond our Imperfections, and still love and care for us. God will fill the void sir, accept my condolences.

There are these days.. days when my strength fail me... days when I arrange my successes - things I fought so hard to achieve - before myself and they don't make any atom of sense.

Days when the emptiness.. take this humanoid form, and glare at me over my shoulders... days in which getting the juice out fails to form any meaning.. no matter the inducement.. and then any effort at it becomes a labour in vain.

Then you wish you had this just one person.. anybody..somebody.. better if it's the person u ever wanted but right there ur standing all by ur self and your successes with not a soul to share memories and moments with.

Then you imagine how others did it.. do it.

Then you want to regret all the sacrifices you made to get here but no you refuse cos they still seem worth it.. if only there was just this one person!

Then u remember that when others were socialising and bonding, you were serving compulsory solitude perfecting what seemed to be the most important then.

I understand you. I think I am in your shoes at the moment. But It was a conscious decision I made. You need emotional solitude to achieve certain levels of success. You need a sort of emotional detachment. This is the price most Self(God) made people pay.

Now you want to be like others and you have no idea how it is done and again and again, you make effort at being someone's 'the one' but all they see is desperation, lack of wit and a machine.. yes! The machine you have conditioned yourself to be over the years efficient at everything except love

Again, I get you. Your problem is not that you cant find or speak to babes. The issue is you want a Fulfilling relationship with an ''asset'', meaning somebody who is worth your time and efforts, who you see as bringing emotional value in a sense to the table. This is not so hard, and it is also hard. To get this person, just have a free mind, Realte with babes as much as possible, do not judge them..know what you want get close to them, be materialistic with them, be annoying, be nice..be very stubborn. see who puts up with your crap, find out why they put up with your crap..is it because you are nice to them?..stop been nice, ...is it because you are generous?..cut that out....this selection by elimination method will get you the person who likes you for who you are, not what you are. This person will like you even at your worst moments...(This is why ladies are attracted to assholes, or ''badguys''). Learn how to treat them well once you know they like you. Nurture the emotions you feel for them..and over time the love will grow. For Guys like us, it is important to us that baes like us not because of the Success we have, but because they just like us..even without the success. That is what you are searching for, and like all things..you WILL get it.

These lonely, cold and tiring nights make fun at you and enjoy how a well respected personality outside falls like a pack of cards inside especially at those times when u turn to ur body for gratification.

I have pain.. deep.. inner pain.. that I wear this nice smile to cover always or so I thought.. as recently, I have started thinking people see through me and visualise vividly the emptiness that lies inside..hmm the way they look at me.

Nah, stop the self pity...people dont see the void, they also have their own problems..people may just be admiring what you ve become.

Then I convince myself that they stare at me cos they're seeing this fine person.. that lame excuse does get me through that moment.

I look hard and wish I could see the future and see someone and be rest assured that it will happen.

Cos I have been like this day after day, week, weeks, month, months, year and years!!

And suddenly I realise how nice I have become to people but I wonder why it doesn't work .. probably cos they're seeing a 'nice machine'

I feel exhausted, and sometimes wonder why with my accomplishments I don't get someone walk up to me and make me feel needed

Ofcourse, i'm macho.. this is where I get to melt like ororo in hot frying pan.

Sometimes I try to settle for someone around the corner but that fighter in me refuses to.. prefering to stick to my 'old glory' of getting the best and what I feel I deserve.

Maybe I deserve the best.. yes.. but not the best 'the one'..
In short, all Self made people have gone through this phase...and their are consequences to it......but you just need to let down your guard, enjoy life..take a 6 weeks vacation...then it will happen.

Walahi, its that simple.
