Christianity EtcRe: Islam And Barbarism: Hard Cold Truth Being Shrouded. by alpontif(m): 3:23pm On Jun 06, 2016
Of course every sane Individual will know Islam is just pure nonsense..That is just the Blunt Truth...

Even some Muslims, in rare moments of clarity, will agree that its a religion that does not make sense.

Actually, Christianity in ages past was as intolerant and absurd as Islam.....

But Christianity has the benefit of kaizen...

It is bidiah in islam if you attempt to improve it.

That is why it is still a backward system.

I don't think it is right for both of you to exchange words over this little matter.

Geologists and/or geotechnical specialists conduct soil investigations or tests on the proposed location, prepare the soil test reports; however, it is the responsibility of the Civil engineer or structural engineer to, on the basis of the soil report, recommend the foundation type to be best used for such location.

Have a nice week.
Please, geologists dont have any business carrying out soil investigations for building construction projects, It is not best practice. Geotechnical Engineers carry out the investigations and Recommend Foundation Type and depth based on the result of their investigations.

The nearest thing a Geologist will carry out for construction projects is geophysical investigations.

That is Best practice.

Do your research or ask questions before jumping into conclusion, a geologist can also carry out Geotechnical investigations efficiently, I know because I'm a geologist.
And how do you make recommendations after your investigation?.....

How do you recommend Foundation Types based on bearing capacity or Bearing pressure?

What do you know about foundation design to be able to recommend foundation types to be used based on your ''investigations''?

Lol. Much as I understand where you're coming from, I think you're too academic in your projections. There are countless 'no log' VPN providers based OUTSIDE the US, UK and their allied countries. Numerous VPN providers based in rogue-friendly places like Eastern Europe and Asia. Besides, there's Socks 5 +RDP, which I can tell you is super anonymous. Besides that, at the level of device isolation/identification, there are numerous tools like Mac Address Spoofer, Browser User-Agent Spoofer, VM Ware, Fraud Fox, etc. All these tools are even going too far, because I am dead sure that the Nigerian State lacks the resources and competence to track criminals based on Cyber Intelligence. Basic no logs VPN or Socks 5 is often enough. Is it Nigeria where even rudimentary things don't work that will have the advanced Cyber security tools and capacity to track anything?

Nigeria where useless idiots get employed into sensitive positions on the basis of connections, nepotism, 'bottom power' etc... leaving out competent people who lack such connections. A massive joke of a country.
You are very correct about idiots occupying sensitive positions in Nigeria, but my projections are anything but academic...in the darknet world, if it can happen, you have to prepare for it.

I am paranoid about my opsec..really really paranoid. and in my experience, the paranoid survives. Note The following: The Nigerian government will outsource this specific cyberintelligence task to israeli or eastern european outfits..who have an ongoing relationship with the defense ministry...

So, the possible counter-cyberintelligence the Niger Delta people will be facing will not be coming from elements within Nigerian Law enforcement directly...They are going to face hundreds of experienced guys with 0-day exploits who know what they are doing.

The above is my basic assumption.

BASED on that assumption, their opsec must not rely on the integrity of third part vpn providers, or tools that tie them directly to the crime.

If a system is already compromised, there are ways to expolit vmware in order to identify you. And it is really not in your interest to believe vpns dont log one way or the other..of course there are many that will tell you they dont, assume they do.

there are so many crazy things going on these days, there best bet will be to have disposable pcs, tails on dvd, and never access clearnet sites. Simple network analysis will identify who is doing what because these guys are already leaving digital footprints all over the internet...and i have not even talked about their writeprints.....

and there are so many exploits that are still in the wild that could be used to f**k them up..

moreover, I dont think they Have Smart people on their team.

I'm surprised you say there's a low usage of Tor in Nigeria. Really surprised. As for tracking them on IP basis forget about that. Their mistakes arise from other failings on whoever handles the twitter handle. For one they should not be following anyone else on twitter.

For all you know they may be operating that account from outside the country where the arms of Nigeria law can't get to them. Think lawless Libya
Trust me, there is very very low Tor usage in Nigeria, and I actually made it my business to know that crucial stat.

As long as they are using Tor directly, their identity can be compromised, especially when they access clearnet sites like twitter and facebook, that involves java enablement at any point in their usage.

If they use Tor directly, their ISP will also know they are on Tor, and their Tor usage logged and crossrefernced to postings on their twitter handle.

They may be slightly better off if they use vpn with tor...just slightly ...coz their isp will not be able to know the browser they are using, but their anonymity depends again on the VPN provider they are using, coz most vpns log IPs and take down your credit card records and other data, all these can again be cross referenced.., anybody using VPNs based incertain countries I wont mention are basically f**ked when it comes to law enforcement issues, as these VPN people will provide all your details.

A better way might be to use Tails plus a Vpn and some other tools I wont mention here...That can make sure that 90 percent of the time, you dont get caught, but if you mess with State actors with enough resources, you will be caught.

Moral of the story is dont do anything illegal on the clearnet..you will be caught if state actors create time to treat your f**k up.

You honestly think they will be using a Nigerian IP? Haven't you heard of the 1000+ ways to hide and anonymise yourself on the Internet? VPN? Tor? There's a legion of tools that can make it seem that you are connecting from anywhere between Azerbaijan to Zimbabwe
I tell you, If the Nigerian military is really is really serious, they will get the person behind that handle under a week( If they dont already)

Hell, even me can unmask them.

And by the way, Tor is not really that anonymous....

have you heard about man-in-the-middle attacks?

do you know that using tor in a country like nigeria where most people dont use it will make you stick out like a maggot infested donkey carcass?

370/euro
Good, BuT it will be great if You could let us know these particulars...in the format below.

eg. Class Location To Receive To Send Exchange rate

Partner Paris Euro Naira 370/Euro.

Partners: The way this works is that we will form a team of 20 Partners, 10 outside the Country, 10 in Nigeria. Prospective Partners must HAVE Large cash reserves in their Bank accounts in their specific Locations, they must also be able to make instant local money transfers to local bank account numbers they receive from the network. There is complete anonymity for this, for security reasons.

Users: A user is someone that wants to send Money to or Out of Nigeria. You state the amount you want to move, we tell you the going rate (which is affordable), you ll transfer the sum you want to move in the equivalent currency (or not, if outside Nigeria) to the network Local Bank account, in 1 minute's time, you ll receive the money in the foreign Bank account you have provided, from where you can withdraw it OR you ll receive payment instructions and location of the person that will give you the money if you want it as a cashless transaction.

Security: The Central network account in Nigeria will be a joint account with Partners and admin as signatories. all will be verified and their details available to users. No single person will be able to make a transfer.

Advantage: If you want to pay for a shipment in China, you dont have to start chasing expensive dollars in Nigeria. If you want to move 10 million dollars out of the country, you dont have to stress yourself. The advantages are obvious for those who know.

Its not surprising that you have failed to learn from the wisdom of my writing, obviously , the truth is too bitter a pill for you to swallow.

Let me break this down for you:

1. Great Britain and USSR: Dont be naive. War is not fair. you dont come with a knife to a gunfight. If you come at me with a handgrenade, I will come at you with a nuclear bomb. That is how wars are won, War is not a match between Enyimba FC and Heartland FC. WAR IS BRUTAL, BRUTISH AND CRUEL...AND THAT IS HOW IT IS WON. Whether the USSR and GB helped Nigeria is not the point, the point is that Nigeria Threw all it had (Including Other countries help) at you, and crushed Biafra. Nigeria won...Simple.

2. ''Lost but more Nigerians died'': Really!?.......Biafran war was fought on Biafran Territory, do you know that?.....and that is not even the point. Victory is Victory, that is how we count the scores, You Lost, Nigeria won. end of story.

3. Dahomey women: Yes, this happend, have you seen any Yoruba Man hung up on Our Egba subset losing some battles to the Amazing Amazonians?....No....Why, because it is not important to us, we do not have a defeatist mentality.

4: Ilorin: Yes, the Great Fulani warriors defeated the yorubas via Afonja's Treachery.....But Yorubas dont care enough about Ilorin at that time since they believe it deserves to be overun because of Afonja's Treachery. Yoruba Warriors simply refused to fight to recover Ilorin. But that is not the point, The Fact is that Fulanis took over Ilorin, and You cannot see a Yoruba man that wants to kill himself and hates all fulanis because of that, we are too smart for that.

5. Chest beating: Everybody knows it is the Igbos that claim to be Brave, bold and the best at everything...Yorubas dont chest beat, we simply win.

6. You can learn from anybody and anything, even from a bee. The fact that you refuse to study and learn from your enemy simply means that you cannot defeat him, because you dont really know him. Sun Tzu will really feel sorry for you.

7. You people are too emotional, try to be logical for once, that is the way to win. Hatred will not help you.

8. I hope this will help you heal.

I hope you are happy now?

Hatred will not help you heal. I get it that it can be though to cope with the reality of defeat as a group of people, but why should you let it affect the quality of your life and that of your relationship with other Tribes...who are just people.

The simple fact of the matter is that Biafra was defeated. It is another fact that Ojukwu FLED.

Even Ojukwu's Father was against you guys fighting Nigeria, the Man died of heartbreak over the matter.

Bros, let me tell you one simple truth about the yorubas, a truth that once you know it, you will not have any problem with them.

Yorubas will never support a cause that will see them on the losing side. NEVER.

It is simple, Yoruba people dont chest beat all over the place, claiming they are Brave, They simply study the situation dispassionately, and follow the Logical choice.

There is a very very very very thing line between Bravery and Outright Idiocy.

It was outrightly idiotic for the East to Fight a Combination of The North and the west at the same time...in a Direct war. You guys should have followed the guerilla insurgency route, which should have led to biafra at the end of the day.

Your cause was the right cause, but the way in which you fought for the cause was not stategic. It showed that as a group , you guys do not have any history or knowledge of war, assuming you did, you would have fought like the Yorubas.

What will the Yorubas have done?

Ask me to answer that.

But know this, no amount of chest beating, or revisionary writing will erase the fact that Biafra was Defeated, whether through attrition or Starvation, and it will be really really naive of you to think that Warfare should be fought on fair terms. If You think so, that confirms that you guys dont know anything about war. Again, you should ask the Yoruba.

Hello all,

Due to popular demand, and partly based on some issues discussed under ymodulus's tomato topic, I have decided to form a Cash Transfer group based on the Crowd concept.

Before that I will like interested parties who want to send money (1000 dollars upwards to 10m dollars) to state the transaction fees they feel like paying, and the exchange rate they are comfortable with.

I will also want Interested parties based in Nigeria, and /or the UK,US AND China, who want to join the movement as partners to indicate their interest.

Kindly note that these will be the characteristics of our system.

1. Instant sending and receipt of Cash sent by users to receivers.

2. Anonymity.

3. No limit Cash volumes.

4. 20% Transaction fees for bulk transfers above 5 million dollars .

5.the system is already designed , and secure .

Water Front Property in Banana Island.

1. Geotechnical Characteristics: Banana Island is an Artificial Island, so apart from designing your foundation to cater for the possibly high water table, I think you are safe. There may be no need to carry out any soil investigation (which will be expensive on the Island), just check out the Foundation types your neighbours are using, then use.

Answer to Q1 - In Nigeria, soil test can be carried out by both civil (structural) engineers & geologists. Note that not all civil engineers are structural engineers, its an area of specialization. However, in projects I have worked on, structural engineers have carried out the soil tests and gotten the actual results. In some projects, some prime consultants (architects) on a project mandate that the structural engineer who would prepare the structural drawings for the project should not be the same person who should carry out the soil test i.e. they advise the client on the need to invite another engineer or geologist, aside the structural engineer on the project to carry out the soil test. It has to do with some form of professional ethics, won't indulge into that here.
If you need someone to carry out a soil test, I have a trusted structural engineer who I can refer to you.

Answer to Q2 - I'm afraid that such is the case...Lekki is majorly sand-filled (reclaimed) ground and as such cheaper foundations like strip or strip-and-pad foundations can't be structurally stable on such ground. If I can remember, there was a thread in this section where a bungalow was to be built on raft foundation because of the soil conditions...imagine that!!

Answer to Q3 - Building with raft and blocks in foundation SHOULD AND ONLY SHOULD be done based on the instruction of the engineer who designed the foundation. Raft is supposed to be a monolithic foundation but if the engineer based on his calculations ascertains that blocks can be used to make up the top of the raft foundation, then its his call and if any issues come up in future, he would be held liable for that decision. So therefore, let the structural engineer consent to that before you mix raft foundation with blocks.
A geologist has no business carrying out Geotechnical Investigations( Soil Test). Geotechnical Investigation is different from Geophysical Investigation, which is also different from Geological Investigations. Dont confuse things.

Also, all propoerly trained Civil Engineers can Design for and Supervise Geotechnical Investigations to be carried out by the Geotechnical Specialist, also....a Structural Engineer HAS NO BUSINESS carrying out Geotechnical Investigations. We are all Civil Engineers, but we specialise at some stage in our carreers, some become Structural Engineers, some geotech engineers, some Transport Engineers, some Water engineers..etc...All are Civil Engineers who Can Supervise, but cannot Carry out work specialities of the different specializations.

While it might seem astounding to you that the 23 year Old Guy is worth 100m (almost 500,000 dollars). Let it not surprise you that he has chosen to TRADE in tomatoes. Everything is always about ROI. Any smart businessman will put money in investments that will give him high ROI within the shortest Time possible, This is why you see market women in your town having enough money to build a lot of houses--via the money they made from TRADING.

Canning of tomatoes is a complex biz. From setting up the factory, to running it, to handling regulatory issues etc. When a businessman sees a better opportunity, he will TRADE in tomatoes rather than CAN tomatoes.

As your networth increases, your risk appetite may start abating...then a Tomato factory might make sense to you, even if the ROI is smaller than TRADING in Tomatoes.

As long as the guy is not asking you for money, I dont think you should have any problems with him.

Which throws up more questions.

10 million naira transfers, to whom?He just told us he disguised his Nigerianess to get better bargains, so I assume his sellers are Cameroonians. That's an international transfer. We both know how that works and even the fastest takes 3 business working days and has lots of restrictions. Transfer just 1 million as an individual alone and your name would be flagged by EFCC. It is part of the anti money laundering act.

Also we have to understand most of these sellers are illiterate and unbanked and if you have ever been to any large agricultural market. It is a purely cash to goods business. Also, you can buy in bulk but there's a limit to the bulk buying. Just one person can never have 7000 baskets. You may have to pick 400 here, 300 there, 1000 from another. Which throws the hypothesis of transferring in bulk to one single person out of the window. So how did he pay them? Carried 56 or 70 million around?
Who was he transferring to then?

Also the tale about him sending J5s without escorts just opened his yansh. Yeah some Hausa biz men maybe trustworthy but you would be damned to send your goods without a motor boy whom you know from your side to follow them. The share scale of logistics involved would be amazing to pull off. It would be a nightmare .

Also you have to understand you pay duties on products to and fro Nigeria. Cameroon is not jus adamawa that you stroll over and they just allow you take produce out like that.

There are so many loopholes in his story that anyone that scratches the surface would know this is impossible and more like fairytale.

I guess he would have his audience who believe all these stories though, since most of his followers are just out of school or naive undergraduates who have no idea whatsoever.
Hello,

I have been following Ymodulus's Thread, and I will understand why Businessmen dont tell people how they make money. I personally may not want to tell because you are going to bend some laws.

About the money transfer process in this particular Tomato thing, do you know something they call Hawala?...I can help you transfer 10 million dollars to any location in the world, and you will get the money in 5 minutes..

So, Its actually a cakewalk for Ymodulus to move millions across the border seamlessly.

About the Logistics of the 7000 baskets, and not following the vehicle, let me tell you something, Trust is crucial in Business, there is no way you can really scale without taking the risk of Trusting someone or a system..its that simple.

I have delivered Tens of Trailers of 900bag/Trailer Dangote Cement to Clients that did not mobilize me, have never seen me all seamlessly. It should also interest you that MY supplier has never met me before, and I never gave him a dime before he did all those deliveries on my behalf...While it might seem risky, It was all based on TRUST.

The people you collaborate with to do business must be people of very high personal integrity, From your Clients, to Yourself, To your Suppliers.

So I am not surprised that Ymodulus was able to do all these without breaking a sweat.

I am only surprised that he actually gave details of how he did it.

LiteratureRe: Chimamanda Vs Chinua Achebe, who Is A Better Writer by alpontif(m): 12:30pm On May 05, 2016
Hello,

I have ALL of Chimamanda's Books, and honestly, at the risk of sounding like an hater, there is nothing spectacular about her writing. It can even be boring.

But I commend her Hype machine, the branding, the Image management, the marketing.....The marketing is the reason why people think adichie is an exceptional writer.

If Not so, How can even the shadow of the thought of comparing Baba Professor Achebe to a minion like Adichie cross the OP's mind?

That will be similar to comparing God to godzilla.

Even Adichie will not be vain enough to take such comparison serious. Except she is on something.

She who the gods want to destro, they first turn mad.

Hmmmm i can relate with his plight. In my days i was also singled out for persecution myself, arraigned before the SDC and nearly forced out of the school. Had to resort to the streets to bail myself out. You can't take unionism away from students, else we will having a generation of cowards and lilly livered, yellow bellied fools who can be manipulated with ease. What kind of nation would we have then?
Bros, No deceive yourself o, with all the Student Unionism we have in Tert Schools all over the place, How has that helped the Country?

Are you not been manipulated already in a Country where Things can be terrible if God is not on your Team?

All the boldness, braveness and sharpness That Students think they have, what has that profited them in the larger society?

Dont get carried away.

I encourage students to go into politics, principally to gain political skills that will help them in realpolitiks. The ultimate Goal of any student getting into politics in Universities should be getting connected strategically, honing skills of oratory, and knowing how to organise.

It is not in your interest to protest on issues that cannot be resolved realistically without causing pain to the people you claim to represent. The problem is most Students dont think about implications, they just demand unrealistically.

Take the issue of Student Hostels, they are in an appalling state in the UI. Very terrible state if i may add. We all know the Solution is to Improve the state of the Hostels, but the Solutions will come at a cost, which is beyond the Financial CAPACITY of the School, the alternative is to Raise Funds by either privatising the Hostels, or by Increasing the School fees.

If You privatise the hostels, Hostel accommodation fees will increase from the Paltry sum you pay to something in the range of 80-100 K. Are you ready to pay that?...If you are not ready to pay that, where do you want the school to get the money from?...You cannot eat your cake and have it at the same time.

It will be surprising If Babcock University students Protest about the State of their Hostels, But it is totally Stupid of Students in Government Universities to Protest about things that cant be done without them paying for it.

Dont get carried away. Think before you Protest.

I still wonder why people will spend a lot of time to write very excellent novels and works of fiction ( stories) , then put it in the public domain like nairaland, when they could have published it and made money from it.

I have read so many excellent stories here, and I can now understand why most creative people are not rich, they just have no business smarts.

If you have a very good write-up, novel, etc any genre, as long as it's interesting, and you want to publish it, And make steady money from it. Just send your manuscript to me, my publishing outfit will handle the rest, and within ten days, you will start making money. But make sure the manuscript you will send is not in the public domain, there are anti plagiarism softwares that will make sure of that, once it's in the public domain, it cannot be published as a book anymore.

Stop writing for free. Make money from your writing.
