FamilyRe: A Spirit Is Loving Me, I Need Help. by alpontif(m): 12:08pm On Sep 03, 2021
A lot of very stupid people have commented so far. You should not have brought this matter here, most of the people on here are kids that don't know anything about life short of what their pastor tells them or what they think they know from atheistic books.

Listen well. We are all spirits. There is nothing like the dead has no business with the living. Nobody has truly died in a sense of finality. People transit to another level.. Its a transition.

Now at that level, depending on how special or spiritually sensitive you are, Other souls on another plane of existence can communicate with you...

This is where your grandmother comes in. It's not complicated. Don't allow fear. It's straight forward. She loves you. She loved you when she was here. She still loves you. She is merely showing you that love.

What you should ask for is wisdom. Life and its explanations doesn't begin or end with what's in the Bible or quran, or medical texts.

Don't be fearful.. Pray to God for wisdom on this.

The moment I saw the announcement and the fact that upfront fees were paid, I knew it was a scam. Anything upfront fees on loans is a scam.

Your comment shows that we are not moving forward in Nigeria.

I served in ABA between 98 and 99 (over 20 years ago) and the story was the same then. Probably worse then.

Obohia street you mentioned was close to where I stayed and I could remember I spent a fortune buying insecticides.

The whole length of NGWA ROAD was divided with refuse and cemetary road from Ngwa road junction was something else.

It amazes me when people from that side abuse other parts of NIGERIA.
Egbon,

You understand what I passed through exactly!.....I actually lived in Obohia......chai....what a terrible experience!!

Uncle, do you know there was a day I had to take night bus to Lagos, I had booked the ticket and went back to the house to carry my bag, on my way going back to the park , na so this rain just start....my God, come and see flooding everywhere, I had to enter the flood water, extremely dirty black, debris filled water, in pouring rain, I was struggling and pushing against flood water that was trying to carry me away...with other people, all the way from Obohia till somewhere close to the park...

Haa!!....may even my enemy not have that kind of terrible experience
TravelRe: Christmas In Aba: No Roads To Drive (Pictures) by alpontif(m): 10:33am On Dec 26, 2019
I had the misfortune of serving in Aba like ten years ago, it is basically the Dirtiest Environment I have ever had to stay at, more surprising to me given the Slander Igbo people carry about Yoruba people been dirty, take it from me, the dirtiest place in Yoruba Land is far far tidier and cleaner than ABA, especially ABA south, all that Obohia ariaria areas, people are literally living in slums and on refuse dumps....

Very very very Dirty City...., terrible roads, no drainage....

Chai, I suffered that year...

I still have so much PTSD about the Dirty ABA environment that I have not returned to the place since I left ten years ago, coming from a Pako guy like me who did not grow up in a GRA, that should tell you something about the scale of INHUMAN Filthiness that is embodied in the City called ABA.
PoliticsRe: Theophilus Danjuma Says Yoruba People Not Helping Matters In Nigeria by alpontif(m): 5:53pm On Dec 22, 2019
I, these days, very rarely comment on Nairaland threads, there is too much to do, and very little time in this present incarnation of mine. As our elders say among the Oyos, eni ti won wo o ki n woran,.......basically meaning he who wants to be watched as an example must minimise watching the world go by.

But I shall make an exception this afternoon.

TY Danjuma is very Stupid.

I, Akolade, omo Lashigun says so.

Agbalagba ti o ba so agbado mo idi, ti so ara e di alawada adie. The elder that ties bunches of corn on his waist has subjected himself to the ridicule of chickens.

General Danjuma has no right to point fingers at anybody in Yoruba land, because he is a very fundamental part of the mess Nigeria is in right now. TY Danjuma has still not cleared himself of allegations that he Killed Aguiyi Ironsi, and Fajuyi, our Yoruba Military Governor of the western region who bravely chose to die with Ironsi rather than abandon his guest, that is honor, we Yoruba are Omoluabis who are famous for that.

TY Danjuma is one of the biggest beneficiaries of Nigerias backwardness, the man go an oil Bloc and became a billionaire over night.......tell me, how will you feel, if your ancestral lands is seized from you and given to somebody like TY Danjuma, who goes on to make billions from it while you wallow in penury....how will you feel if such a man starts pontificating about, pointing fingers at people for something he is partly responsible for?

He who must come to equity must come with clean hands, the Yoruba, for now, dont have problems with the Fulani, when we do have a problem with them, that is when Nigeria will end, not an hour before that.

We the Yorubas are far more politically savvy than all this games Danjuma and co are playing to show the seeds of confusion within the Yoruba and Fulani and create conflict that will precipitate the end of Nigeria. We understand the game very well, our ancestors have been playing it for thousands of years, and while you do not want to believe it, the yoruba culture is a warrior culture, every war historian will confirm that to you.

We are the masters at propaganda, at information warfare , at deep level discord spwing, so we see what you all are doing. You know very well that once the Yoruba gives upmon Nigeria, that is the end. We are the ones who start fights that will lead to crises, it will not be started for us. As Nigerian history has shown, If there is trouble in Yorubaland, then Nigeria will go up in flames, the first coup and its domino like effect is a result of the Crises in the Wild wild west then, so we all know what's up.

We refuse to be provoked into conflict with the Fulani, who understand the limits they can push the Yoruba to, the present peace we enjoy on Yoruba land is favourable to us, and we do not want that to end. We have fought wars, and we know it is easier to start, than to end, Ogun o ro bi eko.

The tribe of retailers calling for war in Yorubaland by precipitating crises should calm down, it will never happen, and if it does, the Yoruba will be the only winner. It is not a coincidence that we are in every industry, from the lowest to the highest, and we will always do what will favour us, call us cowards, na you sabi.

The Fulani knows better, there leaders know better, the retailers should know better, Nigeria will not end until the Yoruba DECIDES so.

Danjuma should keep quiet, and look towards empowering his people with his Oil Bloc money, instead of crying wolf, when he is one.

You have arrived at so many illogical conclusions that I dont know how begin to rearrange the knotted threads of misinformation that is deeply founded in the crevices of your mind.

But I will make an attempt.

1. The fact that you also said these titles have become meaningless in Nigeria due to the unregulated manner in which people call themselves titles that they have no right to, humbling such together in meaningless strings like Alhaji, dr, chief, engr so so and so, is the reason why sanity must be brought back to restore the prestige of our Engineering Title, it is not for just anybody, not for your auto technician, or your phone repairer...

2. Perhaps you will tell me the people you know, and the clients they have or companies they work in, putting Engineer before their name, when they are not Coren licensed, so that the needful can be done.

The mistake you people make is that you think it's all about the title, you all go around giving jobs to Quacks, when problem now arises, you will be shouting all over the place that Nigerian Engineers are incompetent, whereas these guys may just be Engineering graduates, not Licensed Engineers.

When you work with a Licensed Engineer, if anything happens, you as the Client is protected....that is what you dont know.

And are you seriously trying to tell me there are other fields of Engineering apart from Civil, Elect and Mech?...as if that is not common knowledge, dont be pedestrian in your opinions.

3. The jury is still out on the appropriateness of certain Coders and developers calling themselves Engineers, as Engineering not only connotes systematic analysis and design bearing in mind Utility, Safety and Cost, but also puts a very real LEGAL responsibility of the consequences of failure on the bearer of the title, who can be fined, punished and failed if his design fails.

How many people have gone to Jail because the software they designed crashed, leading to loss of money or lives?

That exactly is the reason they cannot be called Engineers.

Ask questions, you probably dont know as much as you think, nor do you even understand that which you think you know, in fact you may just be another result of the consumption of misinformation.

Ask questions, or be silent.

Adiwana:
Nigerians and meaningless titles. That's why someone will put Chief,Dr,Engr all in his name..lol

FYI,you don't have to be certified as an Engr by Coren to be one or practice as one. There are tons of Engr disciplines that have active Engrs. We all think to be an Engr you have to study Mechanical or Civil Engr. In the IT world, there are software,Network,Devops Engr. All work on that capacity
Car TalkRe: Jerry Mallo Designs And Builds Fast Cars (Pictures) by alpontif(m): 8:48am On Nov 30, 2019
Exactly,

Else if COREN catch you, den fit cause you serious wahala.

COREN registered Engineers also have to be licenced and get C.Eng status in the UK before they are allowed to practice or call themselves an Engineer.

It's so regulated that in the US, an Engineer that Holds a Professional Engineer's License (PE) of New York State cannot Practice as an Engineer in for example Texas, unless he holds a PE license for Texas state too.

Evangkatsoulis:
So if one is certified to practise engineering in the UK one still has to just COREN to be called an engineer in Nigeria? Funny.
Car TalkRe: Jerry Mallo Designs And Builds Fast Cars (Pictures) by alpontif(m): 8:17am On Nov 30, 2019
Oga, dont be ignorant abeg, if you are not COREN registered in Nigeria, you cannot legally be called an Engineer or practice as an engineer except as a pupil. You cannot legally attach the Word Engineer before your name, if you like be a MIT graduate.

Ask questions, stop announcing your ignorance to the world.

The fact that you are an engineering graduate does not make you an Engineer until you are licensed and Registered. The fact that you passed out as a law graduate does not make you a lawyer unless you get called to Bar.

These are not roforofo courses, just like medicine, there are real life legal implications if an Engineer's incompetence results in failure ....that is a serious malpractice issue. For example this car in question was fabricated from sheet metal of unknown specification, in a same clime, he dares not drive it on a public highway due to safety reasons, if it crashes where is the crumple zone?....has the car passed an crash test?....etc, basic things an Engineer will do, which if he neglects to do will result in loss of lives or property...

It is a legal matter, try to learn, people dont just criticize things like this because they have nothing better to do, I am doing this to prevent misinformation that may have life threatening consequences for the ignorant offline.

Former Governor of Osun State, Aregbesola used to call himself an Engineer until COREN wrote him, till date you wont see him call himself an Engr.

jagojunior:
He's a certified Engineer. He studied Engineering abroad, was offered a job there but he declined the offer and returned to Nigeria to chase his dream.

A bit of background check on him would have saved you from this embarrassing comment
Car TalkRe: Jerry Mallo Designs And Builds Fast Cars (Pictures) by alpontif(m): 7:36am On Nov 30, 2019
Please the moderator of this thread should take it down or remove the word "Engineer".

There are legal and image implications to this against the perception of the general body of Engineers in Nigeria by the world, things like this dont help our image, also You don't call yourself an Engineer publicly in Nigeria unless you are COREN registered.

Do not persist in calling quacks Engineers, it is illegal and very bad.

It is like calling a Traditional healer a Medical Doctor, a lot of people would have been misled before realising the NMA is not the body that certified such "Doctor"

You can change his descriptor to Designer or even Inventor, but not a Nigerian Engineer, its embarrassing.
Car TalkRe: Jerry Mallo Designs And Builds Fast Cars (Pictures) by alpontif(m): 7:21am On Nov 30, 2019
Hello,

I do not want to come across as a Killjoy, but please, it is wrong to call him an Engineer, he has not done anything special here, and it is an embarrassment to the image of this nation to make it appear as if he is a genius or something just because he did something Most US High school students with interest in Cars do far better and regularly.

This is a very very ordinary bodywork project that carshops and modders do popularly across the US and the developed world, even south Africa. You will never see a serious car enthusiast drooling over this.

This is just metal fabrication and welding plus painting. If you know what goes into designing and building a real car from scratch, you will not be all over this.
Even innoson Just assembles car parts, he doesn't design or manufacture.

Mods like this are fairly common in Abuja and Lagos, they tend to be even better and more practical than this.

I am not raining on his parade , I am just telling it as it is , olooto ilu ni oshika ilu.
BusinessRe: Allen Onyema Indicted For Bank Fraud And Money Laundering In America by alpontif(m): 12:02pm On Nov 23, 2019
So, news recently carried it that the celebrated founder of Air peace, Mr Oscar Onyema has been Indicted by the USDOJ on charges of Money laundering.

Mr onyema reportedly created fictitious transactions, backed by fictitious documents between a US registered company he Controls and a set of Nigerian Entities he also happens to control (including two NGOs).

Based on evidence accumulated by the DEA, IRS CI, and USDOJ, charges were bought, and it appears our favourite airline CEO will be extradited.

I will address this crisis form two points.

The Business process Strategy and governance point, and from the Geopolitical policy point of view.

Nigerian businessmen, especially those who happened into sudden wealth, do not know how to build companies based on world class corporate governance strategies. They are micro managers who have to do everything by themselves, and will neither employ talent, nor pay for appropriate talent to help them do the needful. This is why end up getting into problem when they try to carry out intricate financial transactions using methods that seem smart to them but which they will have been advised against assuming they had the right people working for them. Instead of employing Finance Transactions and Compliance experts, Tax advisors, Money Management teams built on world class standards, they will rather go to the average guy working in a Nigerian bank, a fake "banker" who will then craft solutions that will be flagged by every AML fuzzy logic on the market.

The monies will go through, but foreign law enforcement will keep piling up evidence to use against them.

This is a Mistake Dangote will never make, and it is part of the reason he has succeeded so spectacularly, follow the rules, employ professionals, let them do it.

Oscar didn't steal money, heck, he worked for it, but by trying to play the system, he has destroyed what he has worked for for so many years and may even go to prison.

But what he is trying to do, is actually accepted practice all over the world, had he consulted McKinsey or PWC, they would have crafted a strategy for him. Apple avoided paying Taxes by parking most of their cash in Ireland, all the top five hundred companies in the world do the same thing, USDOJ has not dealt with them because they did it using loopholes in the system, that is the mistake oscar made, he did not consult the professionals, he was doing it himself, and because the funds were going through, he thought he was getting away with it....that is his biggest mistake.

On a Geopolitical policy basis, this crises must be strictly viewed as a National Security Matter, foreign authorities must not be allowed to destroyed a major Nigerian company and employer of labour based on offences that are very trivial and victimless compared to the atrocities American companies commit in Countries such as Nigeria. The Nigerian government must see this as a foreign policy matter and must make use of diplomatic channels to "die" this matter. The implications are dire, apart from unemployment issues, Nigeria will be losing on potential tax revenues from one of the Country's biggest Airline operators, if its allowed to be destroyed by a Foreing company on the excuse of its principal breaking their laws, laws that American companies break at will all over the world. We must also look at it from the view that Airpeace is a growing airline, which in coming years may be used as a soft power tool of Nigerian foreing policy, as such it must be treated as too big to fail, and supported all through.

If the Americans fail to "die" the matter, the Nigerian Ministry of Justice, FIRS, EFCC and SSS should as a matter of national security examine the practices of Western Companies with activities in Nigeria, including General Electric, Delta Airline, Chevron and Schlumberger and make their directors personally liable for all wrongdoing discovered, while also releasing press releases indicating them of Fraud.

In a proper Country with a foreign policy, this is what will happen.

InvestmentRe: Home Ownership Is Mostly A Bad Investment- Expert Says by alpontif(m): 12:36pm On Nov 15, 2019
I have been saying this exact concept for years to Famil/friends, but I have realized over time that they take such information wrongly, apart from thinking you are stupid, they will think some spiritual forces are preventing you from owning your own house, they never understand..and those of them that have already owned houses think you are insulting them.

It is also the reason a lot of people live average lives and never become wealthy. They might be rich, but they can't afford to stop working, hence they never become wealthy.

The house you live in is not an asset, since you will not sell it under normal circumstances, we call it dead capital. It is not producing any income for you, nor can you benefit from selling it if land values should increase, because, remember, it is your house....so you can't sell it.

What people who become wealthy (and this is why I greatly love and admire Igbo men, though I am Yoruba) do is that they save up money to establish Cashflow businesses, they will then keep on managing and saving up to establish more cashflow businesses .

These cashflow businesses will be generating income, which is saved up and then invested in passive investments like TB, Bonds, plots of cheap land all over the place, student hostels, lockup shops etc.

The income from investments initially is not as much as cashflow businesses, but it is passive and do not require active management, so as the money is coming from their cashflow businesses, they are putting it in passive investments, gradually, until it comes to a point when the yield from their passive investments can cover their yearly living costs.

At that point, they will now start putting money in non assets like their own house, and may even decide to retire, without ever working in their life again.

To illustrate this point, let us assume you do a business and just hit twenty million, or you saved up twenty million naira.

The first instinct of a typical Nigerian is to show he has arrived by buying cars and building a house, the instinct of someone who wants to be wealthy is to establish a cashflow business.

Let us assume you want to be wealthy, so what did you do?

You imported a haulage truck for five million naira, opened a paga shop with three hundred thousand, established a block industry with one million, opened a shop in a market to start selling provisions with one million, opened a small buka with five hundred thousand...everything at a total cost of seven point eight million. You now bought dollars worth eleven million, then used half of it to buy Tbills, and fixed the remaining in your dorm account. You want to be running your life with the one point two million that remains.

You have just established a cashflow business.

Your haulage truck will produce money every week, you set aside a sum to recover the cost of the truck and send the profit to a special account every week......say fifty thousand weekly

Your paga shop will produce money every day, you set aside part of it to recover the cost of establishing the business and send the profit to a separate account daily......say two thousand daily...fourteen thousand per week

Your block industry will produce money every week..........same process........say fifty thousand weekly

Your provisions shop will produce money every day......same process........say ten thousand daily.....sixty thousand per week

Your small buka will produce money every day.........same process......say ten thousand daily....sixty thousand per week

Your tbills is producing money...keep it there

Your dollars is protecting you against inflation .....keep it there

Money is entering from all directions, that is cashflow.....in other words, you have a very high liquidity.....this means that you can have access to reasonable amounts 0f money at any time for you to take advantage of opportunities.

So, as these businesses continue to grow, you keep expanding them, and opening more branches, piecemeal, gradually.

Assume you open this businesses forty weeks in a year of fifty two weeks,

Per week, you are making two hundred and thirty four thousand naira

Forty weeks total Nine Million, three hundred and sixty thousand naira.

And that is after you have removed the seven point weight million you used to establish the businesses, you will still have nine point three ,million as profit.

On just single branches.

The more you expand, the more money you make, the more liquid you become, to the point that if any opportunity comes up that requires cash, you won't be running up and down looking for money.

When it gets to a point, start using the profits you are getting from your cashflow businesses to buy cheap land in Hectares and acres, dont go to where land is presently in demand, buy land anywhere, everywhere, as long as it is secure and very very very cheap. Only suckers buy expensive land.

Buy more bonds , dollars, tbills, at any point in time make sure most of your liquid cash in the bank is in dollars.

Continue this over a period of ten years, if you dont become a hundreds millionaire, call me barstaad.

At that point, you can now build your own house, and even retire.

Please note that this advice is for people who want to be wealthy, not those who want to be rich. It is strictly for business minded people not people comfortable with earning excellent salaries.

A house is not an investment, if you fear you will die before your time and want to secure your family, and that is why you want to build your own house, there are insurance and investment banking products for that.

Think with your brain not your feelings. If you use that twenty million and build a house, other than waking up and seeing your house every morning, it will not give you a single profit, you have just buried money.....like the guy in Jesus's parable.

For people who are working and are not business men, if you save up and get this kind of money, buy dollars and keep, buy tbills, fix part of it with a cooperative bank, fix part with an investment bank like Meristem, FBN capital, Investment one. etc.....

Dont bury money....

Hello,

I need Software developers that can create a mobile money transfer network like mpesa , basically a mobile software that could allow people to send, receive, and withdraw money from their mobile devices that allows users to deposit money into an account stored on their cell phones, to send balances using PIN-secured SMS text messages to other users, including sellers of goods and services, and to redeem deposits for regular money, customers can deposit and withdraw money from a network of agents that includes airtime resellers and retail outlets acting as banking agents.

If you know exactly what I am talking about, let's talk please.

makydebbie:
Please this post is not for the feeble or dull minds.

Is this life worth anything?

What is life?

Because, I've come to realize that we're just living to die. And is this life worth the whole stress of living? If my question makes any sense.

I've also come to understand you don't live happily at any point. Things will happen and situations will keep stressing you at every point. When you're poor, you want to be rich so that you can solve your problems. But when you're also rich, there'll be stress. You'll start trying to make sure you don't go back to poverty and invest wisely. You can't just sit and enjoy your wealth. Situations will keep cropping up. Sometimes I'm scared to be happy because happiness doesn't last. Something bad must always happen.

What is this life?
Is it worth the stress that issues will keep coming up and you don't even get to sit back and enjoy?

Being a child is the best thing that happened to us all. Because then you had no worries, as we grow, our needs becomes endless. We're insatiable.

What is life? I'm tired of living, living this hard life knowing I'm going to die anytime and my goals and dreams that I'm working for becomes nothing at the end. I'm tired of getting almost everything wrong. Tired of not being happy all the time and the stress that keeps coming up.

What is the essence of life if we're just living and suffering only to die. Because in this life, THERE'S NOTHING LIKE HAPPILY EVER AFTER. We're just going through hell, just to die at the end.
What a wonderful question. I am truly pleased to come across this question this evening.....it is a sign that you are heading towards enlightenment. To answer your question, I want you to keep something in mind, and that is; Wisdom , when pursued to its utmost extent, becomes foolishness. I will illustrate that point further in this answer.

The short answer is philosophically speaking, Life is pointless. Everything is pointless. Yes.

If you read Ecclesiastes very well, you will understand the true nature of our existence. It is completely pointless, and that fact has serious implications for the mindset we have, and how we live this pointless life.

The implication is you either have to become a Stoic hedonist, or an ascetic.

Live life, enjoy it, pursue pleasure, if you get it , fine, if you don't fine, if you are rich fine, if not, fine.....in the long run...nothing matters...we will all die and the universe will grind on.

Why we must vote for Buhari in 2019

Plus ca change, plus cest la meme choose. The more things change, the more they remain the same. It is apparent from all indications that Nigeria is the wrong country to be if you want to be a good person, from all indications so far, good morals will lead to a life of poverty, failure and frustration.  To even hope there are good people that can bring a positive change in the system is an exercise in idiocy as it was clearly demonstrated by the presidency of GMB.

Abi? How else do you explain all the corruption and scandals that has taken place in his regime, apparently corruption has come to stay in Nigeria.

Corruption is so endemic and systemic in all things in Nigeria that it is both foolish and illogical , even against the fundamental laws of equilibrium to attempt to skirt around corruption in doing anything here.

From systematic looting of our commonwealth by politicians and civil servants alike to legal enablers of corruption like the federal character act and several other strategically placed corrupt policies, to outright theft and diversion of resources to private coffers.

It is very hard to be naive in this country, apparently no one can possibly be innocent in this country, as demonstrated daily by SARS intimidation and oppression of any young fellow that appears rich, who is unfailingly stopped, frisked,  Phone searched and immediately labelled a yahoo boy who must settle them or face the consequences. Instances have been recorded where they March people to ATM machines for them to withdraw money to pay them.

Nepotism is common place, even expected,  for example to get some federal government jobs in this country, you need to be personally introduced by a governor, senator or other highly placed thief, I am talking about jobs in NDIC, CBN etc....that apparently have been reserved for the offsprings of our common oppressors.

The Federal  character act has encouraged mediocrity instead of promote competence, this has had a direct effect on how policies are formulated or implemented in this country, or how do you hope to have excellent results if the greater percentage of your bureaucracy is made up of incompetent idiots that will never pass a merit based civil service  competency examination as done by the Chinese or the Indian governments. So it's very simple, if you don't put your best people in your civil or public service, you cannot get good policies nor implement it.

The geniuses that formulated the Federal character act must be rejoicing in their graves now.

FSARS is everywhere harassing people, and in some cases inflicting grievous bodily injuries, I have also been stopped before, searched and accused of been a yahoo boy and told to settle.  Apparently it is a crime to have foreign numbers on your phone or as a professional, to call your customers "Clients".

But again can you blame FSARS? these are law enforcement agents, exposed to danger, poorly paid, with families and obligations to fulfil....if they die in the line of duty there is nothing like care or any welfare for their family, what will an armed, angry and poorly paid law enforcement agent do but prey on the citizenry. ..it is the nature of such things..Again the Nigerian state that pays politicians more than law enforcement agencies is to be held responsible.

Violence is actually the only language the Nigerian state understands, Militants spoke it well and got paid big time, To the point that some of them now have universities and have become well respected chiefs and elder statesmen.  Again, it is hard to be naive in this entity we call Nigeria.  For its very clearly an anarchic system and only those who have the capacity for violence can hope to flourish in the system.  It is clear.

To really get the attention of the government in this country, you need to kill, and I don't mean just one or two people, nope, you need to demonstrate the capacity to kill thousands of people, blow up pipelines, kidnap white people and generally be a major problem for the Owners of Nigeria.  That is how you get their attention, that is how they will invite you to the table to partake of the national cake ,they will negotiate with you and you will be ableto enjoy the wealth that belongs to all Nigerians in peace, with police escorts sef.

People are jobless, a Country whose population consists of a lot of young angry youths with very high unemployment levels is certainly the ideal place for criminal behaviour and all forms of society destroying criminality.  When you combine this with the general lawlessness of the Nigerian society where who you know matters more than what you know, where the police is the most corrupt organisation, where the judiciary is corrupt beyond belief, where people praise wealthy people irrespective of where and how they got their wealth, it should then be no surprise to us that Nigeria is the capital of yahoo yahoo and and  major exporter of prostitutes to the world.
What will you have the youth do?..starve to death?...watch life pass them by?..hope that a nonexistent government is gonna wake up one day and suddenly become responsible?

Not gonna happen. In the nature of things, people have to survive, and when the legit ways are no more available, the illegitimate ways will be new way to secure the bag.

You can sit in your chair and moralize about how there is no justification for this , you have the luxury of access to opportunities that is denied to 98 percent of Nigerians, your generation went to free schools, got jobs waiting for you, had everything handed to you on a platter of gold, so it's no surprise that your generation destroyed and looted this country into oblivion, nor is it a surprise that you cannot emphatize with the struggles of the Nigerian youth to make ends meet, writing them off as Lazy.

Your generation plotted coups, killed people, raped this country, implemented catastrophic policies and destroyed the essence of this nation, and you wonder why every other youth of nowadays is either a yahoo boy or a prostitute...in all the shades these two professions come in, how else do you want them to secure the bag?..Abi you expect them to be slaves to your children who you sent to the best schools to justify the nepotism you deploy to place them in the best jobs, claiming that they are qualified. ...which is actually true?

Apart from a rape of the morals, the Nigerian youth also has the misfortune of passing through the worst educational system in the whole world, a system that does not equip them with skills for the 21st century workplace, nor place them in the best position to secure jobs anywhere in the world. Nigerian certificates are next to worthless to secure jobs overseas, doctors have to take new exams, engineers have to be recertified.

To go up now, you either have to be in the entertainment industry, politics or the streets, no two ways about it, some of us,because of our family names and Politics have to stick at all costs to the straight and narrow in Nigeria or find a way to immigrate.

And you people wonder why Nigeria is a hellhole. The only way is to fundamentally restructure Nigeria or allow it to fail...either way..Nigeria in its present form is going to collapse whether you like it or not.

Since our dumb politicians have refused to toe the sane line of restructuring, the only other way is to encourage actions that will place the collapse of Nigeria on the fastrack.  As it is, based on current trends it will take 198 years for Nigeria to collapse fully, we obviously cannot afford to wait that long . That is why we must promote corruption and anarchy.

It seems like an antithesis of our discussion, but observe that if a lot of corrupt politicians get into power, they will contribute to an increase in the rate of looting and destruction of this country,  which will hasten the collapse of this country, which is the endgame that can favor the masses. To make sure that this happens in the next 20 years, we must make all effort to support corrupt politicians,  encourage corruption, nepotism and injustice. We must encourage SARS brutality and have more military operations and dances with animal names, we should encourage the diversion of government funds into private coffers, totally create a system that favors the few at the expense of the majority. We must actively seek the abrogation of the EFCC ,ICPC and make sure corrupt officials get to positions of power and influence, this will tremendously increase the poverty in the land, encourage unrest, increase militancy and generally make Nigeria a more lawless place that will be the envy of Countries like Somalia. This will happen in 29 years. That is why we must make sure that we vote for corrupt politicians so that Nigeria will collapse, without the collapse of Nigeria, there is no hope for the poor masses in this Country.

In short , we must make sure that Buhari gets reelected in 2019.
EducationRe: Where Are Our First-class Graduates And Professors? by alpontif(m): 9:49am On Oct 02, 2017
I think we should put this to rest once and for all.

The OP's assertions stem from a place of ignorance and wrong premises /assumptions.

First class graduates and University professors cannot do anything unless they are empowered to do so by an active government policy/masterplan on scientific /industrial research and development.

The Government providers the means, the scientists and first class graduates will provide the results.

Without the means, you cannot have the results. And it is only Government and huge MNCs that have the resources to provide the means.

All the scientists doing great things abroad are doing so because they have access to the means, not because they are more intelligent than the Nigerian scientist.

Developed Countries have provided the means for industrial development, it is the government you should query, not the competence of First Class graduates or University professors.

That is why I said your question stemmed from a place of ignorance /wrong assumption.

It's like the common wrong assumption people make about mechanical engineers, thinking that they ought to be able to design and repair Cars. Not knowing or caring to clarify what mechanical engineering is, and know that it is different from automobile engineering or Motor mechanics technology.

A mechanical engineer will not know anything about motor vehicles unless his speciality is automobile engineering.

So when you shout up and down that Mechanical engineers are incompetent because they can't repair cars, you are only announcing your ignorance to the world.
Christianity EtcRe: Help!! I Have A Spirit/Marine Wife. I Need Deliverance by alpontif(m): 3:57pm On Oct 01, 2017
It is a simple matter.

Find a Bible. Read the whole of the new testament. Don't rush. Take your time.

As you are studying the new testament, Google "Andrew Wormack" and download and listen to any of his audio preaching, any.

Once you are done reading the bible, could take a week, don't panic, don't fear, once you are done with it, as you are listening to the downloaded audio, think about Jesus.

Think about God. Think about God's love for you.

It's hard. I know. It seems foolish even. I know.

Think about what you have studied.

Then say a prayer, thank God for leading you to know more about his power, say you accept jesus christ as your lord and saviour. Ask God for the holy spirit to come into your life. Thank him for all he has done. Say all those things. Make sure you say it out. You don't have to shout.

Then start asking God for whatever you want or wish for in your life.

The above seems ridiculously easy, even foolish. But try it first, and you will see that the forces of evil are nothing compared to the Power of God.

It might seem naive, but the above will set you free...if you do it, even if your belief is as little as a bacteria.

Now, when you do the above....there is a chance that the attacks will increase, yes, increase. You certainly don't expect the devil to give up like that. But do not fear, it's a sign that you are winning. Continue to pray, thank God for the Victory, and go out and start dating a woman with the intention to marry her.

You will certainly never experience the evil dreams again.

You don't need to worry, just give your life to Christ, ask for the holy spirit, and no force will be able to oppress you ever again. No force in existence.

It's easy,but hard, because it's easy.

Please can anyone connect me to a Priest/Pastor in fact anyone that can help me with Deliverance that is not fake.

I am 29 yrs old Medical Doctor. I stay in Lagos and work in a hospital(name withheld). My story started yrs ago wen I was very small that is in pri. Sch. Then I used to have sex in my dreams but never discussed it with any1 bc I don't know what to call it. But the sex in my dreams continued till date.

Again at a time I got worried but i bluffed it saying it was just a dream that it meant nothing. But now it seems it meant something after all.

During all those years till now I always have issues with relationships. Once I sleep or starts sleeping with any girlfriend of mine within 1wk the friendship ends especially if it is someone I planned dating.

But I observed something too then any girl that is just a friend but just sleeps with me in terms of mutual/friends with benefits without any luv or r/ship thing attached to the end used to last.

So when I noticed it I started keeping girls as just friends or mutual one. Luckily I got plenty for mutual friends but what baffled me most was that one that i used to sleep with in my 100l to 200l said one day "nawaoo why can't I get pregnant for you upon we have been sleeping together for over a yr without condom and yet she never take in. I became worried and decided to go for sperm analysis test. It came out fine but when another girl said the same thing again last 3yrs. I decided to find 3 runs girls that I paid to be having sex with me during their window periods to see if they will take in and willing to abort. From the day I started sleeping with them none ever took in. They said Oga you have a problem, go and get help". Note that we carried test on the 3 of them and it showed they are fertile and fit to get pregnant. But I never looked for an answer till date.

But then on Friday I went out with a friend that i planed dating but yet to sleep with her but that night it happened.

Hell broke loose yesterday when she called me yesterday and was so angry with me saying.. In her words "why did u not tell me you have a marine wife shocked "?.. I was like what?.. She then continued saying that have I ever asked myself why can't i get into a serious r/ships , my episodes of sex in my dreams and getting someone pregnant. Don't you know the person you are sleeping with in your dreams?".. I was shocked bc of how she knew?

I asked her who told her and how come she knew about this problem?.. When I knew that I have never discussed it with her or anyone. She now said she met with my spiritual wife and that I should forget getting r/ship, married or having kids without her permission. I should seek for her(spiritual wife). Then as for her I should never talk to her about love and r/ship unless I want to just be having sex with her which she permitted her to give me. Besides she is an Ogbanje so I should not be surprised as she knew..

Now I seriously need a deliverance bc it is now giving me worries.. I will appreciate any help pls. Thank you
EducationRe: Why Olusegun Kayode Bello Was Expelled From The Nigerian Law School - Management by alpontif(m): 9:18am On Jul 27, 2017
It's so sad that Nigerians youths are cowardly in action, thought and behaviour.

This Kayode guy is going to go a long way, in fact he is going to be a giant in this generation if he continues this way, for one simple reason: he doesn't give a f**k.

People who don't give a f**k are outliers, they are different from the sheep, they are the ones who become great, because they are very very exceptionally different and do not need anybody's permission to do whatever they want.

Criminal minds are outliers, Coup plotters are outliers, innovators are outliers, Billionaires are outliers. You have to be an outlier to be great. Paths to greatness is different, radicalism is thus guy's path to greatness.

Nigeria needs more anti establishment trouble makers, we need more people like Kay, people who know their worth and will not suffer and smile in silence. Nigeria needs more lions and fewer sheep.

To you sheep's out there, carry your achievements and degrees with you to heaven when you die, you can even live forever if you want.

But kindly shut up if you cannot see the value an outlier is bringing to a system that is undergoing paternalistic rape of its mentality, value, worth and behaviour.
EducationRe: The Two Main Types Of First Class Graduates by alpontif(m): 10:42am On Jul 16, 2017
Hello,

I am obviously not talking via an empirical data point of view, as I do not have access to that. My opinion is based on factual experience. All the First Class people I know have had Consistent As all the way from their primary school days. All. I actually saw their credentials right from primary school.

The point I am making is that the first mark of brilliance is consistency. A brilliant student in primary and secondary school can slack off due to many reasons in the University, and make average grades. I also know people like that. But when you roll with these people,
their sheer brilliance shows, consistently. They are definitely not swotters.

Swotters also make first class, but swotting can only help you so far.

On the other hand, people do not become suddenly brilliant, there will be a sort of track record, consistency of grades, or in the absence of that, a gift that actually portrays the outstanding mental brilliance of such individual. I know petty traders, illiterate, that are quite very very good with numbers. Gifts vary, but brilliance is brilliance, and in this day and age, the easiest marker of brilliance is Consistency.

By the way, the above is not necessarily valid, it just is my opinion.

baum1:
Guy, I wanted to ask what are you saying, but that would be rude, not okay. I actually logged in because of you.

Contrary to what you believe, there are many non-straight A's students in high school and primary school that went ahead to become the best graduating students at their departments or entire school. I have worked with so many people on Nairaland, I've seen many things, personal experience and from the younger generation..Your first sentence will hardly fit real life data if you put it to test. There are very many above average students at primary/secondary school who went on to achieve GPA's in the neighbourhood of what you termed real first class. On the contrary, there are excellent students at primary/secondary level who went on to make a weak first class, 2:1 or even lower. Your point connotes that those making top, top GPA at uni were the excellent ones in high school. Data doesn't support this. You cannot draw the conclusion you're trying to draw. I've seen so much to accept such conclusion..Perhapsthis post of mine will help you motivate the above average high school students you know that they can be excellent at university and get the best grades...

So, average/below average/above average high school students, don't think you can't come tops in your class at university level. Perhaps you were average in high school because you studied wrongly or didn't have the academic guidance that the more privileged ones had. Many students attended secondary schools where all they do is write notes written on the board and many of these students hardly did problem solving sessions, e.g past questions, exercises etc. They were not exposed enough and tried to read and read what the teacher wrote on the board for them to copy. Of course, such students would hardly achieve the grades that befit their academic gifts, even if they are seriously gifted academically..But such students get to the university and it's another ball game entirely. Some of them were even more gifted than their highly performing age mates in other high schools but didn't have the same exposure....I remember in those days in unilag when some brough 8 A1 during registration, lol. We were dodging our own occasional A, more B's and C's...4 years later, another story was told.
Christianity EtcRe: How An Angel Of God Made Me Invisible To Guys Armed With Guns Who Came For Me. by alpontif(m): 4:01pm On Jul 10, 2017
Jèhovah is an almighty indescribably powerful God that nobody has any idea the extent of his power and mercy and wisdom.

Something similar has occurred to me when I was in University.

Robbers came to my hostel. I was sleeping in the middle of the night, Nepa has done the usual, when I heard the door to my room broken suddenly, what I initially perceived was a pungent smell I couldn't place immediately as the noise woke me up from deep sleep, normally I don't rise from the bed when I wake up from sleep, I first observe the surrounding without moving, senses alert, eyes closed.

On this particular day, as they Bursted into my room, I was lying on the bed, face sideways, eyes open. These guys shined their torch all over my room, one of them bent down and took my phone that was beside me on the floor, just by the bed, another went to my desk, checked the drawers. He didn't see any money.

Both of them completely ignored me as I lay on the bed, not moving, looking at them.

They exited the room, and locked the door.

The pungent smell was weed.

They beat up everybody mercilessly in that hostel, raped the girls who were my neighbours.

I was the only one they didn't touch, wake or even know exist

It was as if they didn't see me.

I still do not know why till date. I can only praise God.

I later recovered the phone. Nokia 6600.

PoliticsRe: Nigerians React To The Demolition Of Otodo Gbame In Lagos by alpontif(m): 10:33pm On Apr 10, 2017
Yes, the Truth in this case means Trampling on People's rights.

About the why, perhaps you should study how the developed Nations of the world all became ''Developed''

My statements are insensitive because they are statements of Objective, dispassionate facts, I have zero apologies for that. It is not my business to be politically correct, it is my business to see things the way it is, and state it the way it is, if it offends you, ignore it.

ephi123:
So to you Truth = "Trampling on people's rights"? Those were your exact words, address that.
Why must people's rights be trampled upon for a nation to develop?
Are they not humans?
Did the developed countries today trample on their citizens ' rights to get where they are?

Your statements were highly insensitive, whether you accept it or not is up to you. This is not even just about this specific case, but those statements you made about people's rights being trampled upon.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians React To The Demolition Of Otodo Gbame In Lagos by alpontif(m): 10:12pm On Apr 10, 2017
The Truth is Harsh, yet we must say it.

Did you actually read what I wrote, or are you so emotionally invested in this cause that you ignored the reason behind the statements I made?

My answer was never about the Rich or the Poor, for I am also poor.

My statements stated a point of fact that is the reality of our existence in Nigeria today, a Nigeria where Power overules all forms of Rights.

Do you really think the government will just wake up oneday and without Warning, or notice, start evicting people and demolishing OtodoGbame?

Do you really think the government provided no prior warning, or eviction notices?

Since you are now quoting the Bible at me, let me also refer you to Leviticus 19:15 "'Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.

Have you judged the Government (the rich?) fairly?, have you heard the story from the side of the Government?, are you not perverting Justice by showing partiality to the ''Poor''?

It is you people that are making this a Poor versus Rich issue. It never was that.

The Government thought it best to demolish a Slum, in the Public Interest, notice was served, they did not move. Becuase Nigeria is a Lawless Jungle, Otodo gbame people did not heed government warnings of demolition, becuase Nigeria is a lawless Jungle where Power trumps Right, OtodoGbame was invaded and demolished by the Government, at the loss of innocent lives. Their rights were trampled upon, but had they obeyed the government, will it have been trampled upon?

This is what I mean by my statement that the Fact is for the demolition to happen, their rights had to be trampled upon by the Government?....This ''Harsh'' statement is true.

Am I now the oppressor for saying the Truth?

Since you were quoting the bible at me, does it not say in the bible Romans 13 that:
"Obey the government, for God is the one who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. 2 So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow. 3 For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don’t want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. 4 The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose. 5 Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should.''

Have OtodoGbame people followed the word of God in the Bible you keep quoting at me?

My mind is free, let Karma come, I am not a populist, nor after popularity, I am a disciple of the Truth, and not an Hypocrite like all these Human right Fighters that work and Live in Lekki Phase 1 and have the Guts to criticize the Government demolishing a Slum, forgetting that Maroko was demolished to make way for Lekki Phase 1 they call their home and office now. It is impossible for Nigeria to develop without paying a social cost, which will come in various forms, like we are seeing now in Otodo, and that is the Fact, whether harsh or not.

Even if you are the only one standing, Say the Truth.
ephi123:
Glad you are here to see what people think of your very "kind" statements.

You've mentioned God is a just God, do you also realize He holds the plight of the poor very dear to His heart?

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy
— Proverbs 31:8-9

Do not exploit the poor because they are poor and do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will take up their case and will exact life for life.
— Proverbs 22:22-23

Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God
— Proverbs 14:31

These are just 2 of the many harsh statements you made:

The feeling is their rights has be trampled upon, the fact is that it has to be'

It is impossible for Nigeria to develop without trampling on some people"
