25.6v means 3.2v per cell (normal voltage) 3.65v maximum voltage.
2.5v is the bms cutoff voltage.
Charging voltage should be 29.2volt
If you set your inverter cutoff at 21v it mean it mean you Have 89% DOD. i.e 11% remaining to be empty.
If you're inverter has editable DOD I will advise you leave 20% or 30%. i.e 21.84v or 22.76v.
If your inverter is not editable then it needs some circuit for that. or check your inverter cutoff voltage. Some 24v inverter cutoff at 21volt while some cutoff at 22v.
Cutoff mine at 24v.

I've been asking how these parameters apply to tubular batteries. Or better put, what are the parameters for tubular batteries?

Well detailed but the computation for the solar yield is too idealistic. This is why many clients over expect, installers over promise and at the end disappointment sets it.

The NOCT yield of most solar panels is practically around 19-35%.

This implies that that 1200W setup would at best give him 500W consistent generation for 4-5 hours.

Yes flooded batteries indeed exhibit lower voltage than other lead acid chemistries while at rest and at work.

However at 58v you are not charging your batteries to full. In general flooded batteries need to get to a minimum of about 14.6v per 12v battery i.e 58.4v for the battery pack. Ideally they should absorb at 14.7 to 14.8v per 12v battery which is a range of 58.8v to 59.2v for the battery pack.

Every month or so, you need to equalize the batteries and get them into the 15v per 12v battery range

It will be useful to read your battery data sheet (some info should be on the battery case) and adjust charging parameters accordingly if your inverter is capable.

If at any point in troubleshooting , the dealer swapped out or topped off electrolyte, then you are in a delicate place as they may have used too strong or too weak of a mix - an hydrometer is your best friend to know the SG and SoC of your batteries and inform your next steps.

Dont go from 4KVA to 5KVA, it is not worth the effort, time and money.
Since your current 4KVA does not meet your needs, go for 7- 8KVA Hybrid, with future Power demands in Mind.
if you Upgrade from 4KVA to 5KVA now, you will be doing another Upgrade, which is costly, very soon.

For the breakers, my fingers had been burnt before so I got all my DC breakers from the UK.

Around end of October last year I proposed and installed a Zinox Ipower 5KvA Transformer series for a client.
Right from the first day after connecting the batteries it didn't work, instead a fault light came on.
I called the Zinox people and they said I should bring it to their service center. Which we did. It took almost two months of going back and forth to get a replacement.
I even insisted on using one of their installers to do it so they will not say my installation was faulty.
They installed it toward the end of December.
They used circuit breakers for the battery connection and phcn connection .
A day after the installation one of the circuit breakers( the one connected to batteries) tripped off they switched it back on.
Just Just last Sunday at 9pm, the clients wife called to say the same circuit breaker suddenly got burnt. I asked them to buy another one to replace it the next day.
This they did only to find out that the inverter has packed up once again.
I called them and as usual they said I should bring it to their office.
Which the client said he won't do till the installer comes to drop the inverter.

Guys, this client had a genus 3KvA inverter which I installed for him three years back, which we didn't even use any of those safety gadgets for and I never received a single call for support from them.
The same 3kva genus inverter was removed and has been working in another location since November last year with no problems reported.

Ever since I replaced it with the Zinox 5KvA Ipower inverter it has been one problem after the other even with all the safety gadgets in place.

The client who paid for this inverter 3 months ago hasn't even enjoyed it for up to a month.
I have even lost all the profit I made on it. But my main concern is not to lose my reputation and the clients trust.

I have used other Ipower products in the past without issues and so I wonder why their transformer series which should be more rugged is now a stumbling block.

I would please like if someone who has used or is familiar with that kind of inverter can tell me his experience and what he did to resolve it.

Wish I had seen this review when I was looking for a quick replacement for my thunderstruck Thundervolt hybrid inverter.
Just 3 months my Ipower just tripped off, the circuit breaker between the inverter and the batteries kept tripping off.
I'm dropping the inverter for them this morning.
Any advice on any other hybrid replacement in the same price range for 3 to 5kva, preferable 48V?

That is if the panels are actually what they printed on it. For all you care, they may be 260W with a 350w label on them.
Also had a similar experience, thought I had 260W till the service boy of the dealer that sold to me came to my house for a little work and I was talking about how low energy they produce. The boys simply told me, oga, you suppose know na, they are not 260W, they are lower.... Na label you de read.
So from 6 units of "260W", I added 3 more to make 9 units. And the load handling and charging got better

sorry sir, im a novice when it comes to these things. i paid my installer for 6x350watts panels which he brought, is it possible 6x350 watts charges like that in the afternoon? or he bought lesser wattage panels because i believe if i do my calculations right, i should have 2160 watts if i installed 6 panels of 350 watts and secondly, i dont constantly use 700 watts sir only the freezer is of 115watts is constantly on with the inverter with a few bulbs, i just exaggerated the consumption wattage. abeg someone should educate be b4 i shoot someones liver.

Please get a timer for your freezer. I have 2 freezers and one fridge on my a similar set up. But my freezers only run between 8/9am to 5pm only and they are as frozen permanently. So you don't need to run freezer for 24hours. That should reduce your consumption.

What time of day did you take this picture? At about 48V your battery is almost empty.
What is your load size before and after sunset?
Do you get your battery to float before sunset?
How old and what make is your battery?
What is the maximum charging current have you seen on the charge controller?
Do you also charge with NEPA or it is solar only?

@ 220AH, they sound like tubular batteries and they seem to behave like that. Charge to about 60V and float at 55. 2 or so and then once you remove the charging source, the voltage drops to about 12.6 to 12.8 or even 12.2 (about 48. but at this voltage, if healthy still carries the load for the required hour appropriately.
So the 48V seen may not necessarily mean the batteries are drained. Sincerely I've been looking for ways of objectively measuring the state of charge of those batteries.

Please note that my post does not address his issues in any way but the 48V seen on display. That needs to be addressed
This was my experience and I even returned the batteries several times till they were tested at the service Centre and tested in my house.
I was assured here and I have been using them like that since.

If your total installed capacity is 5 pieces of 200watts panel, thats 1000w. A perfect system will generate 500% of this or 5x which is 5000wh and above. In this dusty season such a system is doing only btw 2000wh to 3000wh.

Connecting the inverter in parallel is difficult except the inverter has the facility to synchronize the phase difference, but you can use the two inverter simultaneously by properly sharing the load among the two inverter but using the same battery bank.

So it's better to feed them into different phases in the house then?

Hmmmmmmm. There is something called "phase" in alternating current (AC) which makes combining two AC sources into one difficult to achieve unlike DC. The wave of AC is sinusoidal and for you to combine two AC sources, they need to be in sync or same phase in the sine wave. That is why paralleling AC inverters require data communication between the two to achieve a stable output.

That is the long answer. The short answer is don't do it UNLESS your inverters come with accessories for paralleling them. Otherwise you may see fireworks and damage the two inverters.

Not loud at all, at least compared to my Thundervolt inverter, which I don't consider too anyway. Though It's good to know that my inverter is outside, maybe it might be perceived louder if installed indoors.
Also the fan comes on intermittently and at different speeds too.

I just got an IPOWER 5kva hybrid, it's cheap compact and runs smooth. That thing na machine I swear in terms of how you can program charging source, supply, parameters you can view and control. It's too early however to know about ruggedness.
