even your high sounding dogon turenchi implying that you might have attended a university did not signify that you are aware of the fact that in a multi cultural and multi religious country with three major ethnic groups and minor ethnic groups like in Nigeria, rotation/zoning of apex political position of the country is ideal for peaceful coexistence of the ethnic and religious groups needed for development of Nigeria.

NADECO II after PMB is what I see some of these these Yorubas obstructing Igbo presidency cultivating. But then, there shall be no Alex Ekwueme with his G33 to make northern region agree to release and rotate the presidency to the south, as in 1999 when because of rotation/zoning, we all acquiesced to having two Yorubas - OBJ and Falae - to fly the presidential flags of the two foremost political parties.

In a statement made available to IGBERE TV by Chinedu Agu, Secretary to NBA Owerri chapter said the deceased though had NBA Sticker in his Car, a Toyota Camry with no *WER 212 SQ,* but was not a Lawyer.

According to the statement, the deceased was driving along Umuaka/Orodo road but was shot dead by Policemen of the Stop and Search Squad.

"On realising that they have shot the deceased, the Police took flight, abandoning the deceased in the pool of his own blood inside his Car."

"The deceased, a native of Amucha in Njaba, L.G.A., Imo State, left home (Amucha) this morning enroute Owerri for a wedding before he met his untimely death in the hands of trigger-happy Policemen this morning."

"As at the time of typing this report, the deceased, whose family members believed was still alive, still lay in his car unattended by the hospital staff."

What could be said to be a sudden realization to the glaring fact that the Eastern palm University, Ogboko in Ideato South Local Government area of Imo State is owned by the Imo State government played out early hours of today,December 4,2020 when the commissioner for Education, Prof BTO Ikegwuoha led a team of Imo State Ministry of Education and security agents to seal up the University.

The school was billed to matriculate today as earlier announced by the management through a press statement.

According to an eyewitness account, the government officials had stormed the school premises almost when the management of the school was preparing to host their new intake, their parents and friends.He hinted that the commissioner of Education walked to the the Vice Chancellor’s office where he communicated and reminded him of government decision on the school and it’s true status.

The source who pleaded anonymity, said that the Vice Chancellor,Prof. Tola Badejo while discussing with Commissioner for Education acknowledged that the institution no doubt belongs to Imo state government which was his belief for which he accepted the offer as Vice Chancellor.He assured the commissioner that he will adhere strictly to government’s directive.

Our reporter who visited the school at about 1PM Nigerian time, saw students loitering around the school premises without anyone to attend to them.

When contacted, Prof BTO Ikegwuoha, the Imo State commissioner for education confirmed the development.He said he led a team of the ministry to seal of Easternpalm which he confirmed belongs to Imo State government.

When asked if the move was as a result of any subsisting court order, he said there is no encumbrance or dispute on ownership of the school as the facts available to the government show that the school was built with state fund on a land acquired through government’s apparatus.”Why should we go to court to take over what belongs to government”, Ikegwuoha queried.
He further stated that every Imolite is aware that Easternpalm University belongs the state government, saying that government will not hesitate to recover any government property.He said that the decision of government to recover the school and put it to use is inline with the 3R policies of the government.

Meanwhile,effort to reach the Registrar of the Institution, Mr Ernest Onuoha proved abortive as he did not take his calls or return same.Onuoha as gathered, is the de facto Vice Chancellor of the Institution.

It would be recalled that the former governor of Imo State, now senator representing Imo West in the National Assembly, Okorocha had used his position as governor to secure licence for the institution as the 43th State owned University and second Imo State owned University.He had in a manner likened to exhibition of executive rascality and abuse of power attempted to use the Legislature to appropriate the Insuritution to himself and Rochas Foundation but never succeeded following the loss in the 2019 governorship election.

The state government has adopted the white paper recommendations by the IMSUTH Visitation panel and ordered the handing over of the institution management to the police for further investigation.

Consequent upon the high level of corruption discovered at the Imo State University Teaching Hospital, IMSUTH,Orlu , the state executive council during its weekly meeting also announced the immediate dismissal of the chief medical director of IMSUTH

The commissioner for information and strategy, Chief Declan Emelumba disclosed this to newsmen after the state executive council meeting.

He further stated that the state executive council was also surprised how the wage bill of the institute jumped from 147million to 236million Naira from December 2019 to January 2020 in just one month, noting that the management took advantage of the new administration to fraudulently pad the wage bill.

The information Commissioner further disclosed that the Council also ordered investigations into other sharp practices within the account records, unaudited from 2017 to 2019, illegal payment of clinical and teaching allowances to administrative staff amongst others.

Meanwhile, the exco has approved the restoration of all illegally allocated plots of land to original owners, revoking of C of O, and restoration of original names and plans of all layouts within the Owerri capital, a sequel to the adoption of white paper on Land matters and related issues as recommended by the panel of inquiry.

In addition to this Chief Emelumba said all illegal structures not contained in the Government house permanent site master plan would be demolished and their would-be full restoration of Arugo and Ekwema layouts to the original plan.
