Nice observations.

When I stayed in the north, you hardly see such. The Nigerian Government has always been against the South.
Because the political structure of 36 states and Abuja created by northern soldiers for the benefit of the north practically consigned ownership of Nigeria to the far north politicians who lead the rest of northern zones.
PoliticsRe: Many Police, Army Checkpoints In The South-East? Why Is This So? by Amah70: 4:42pm On Dec 29, 2020
BIGPREEQ:
Why Is This So In The South East?? I Need Explanation

So today I decided to travel to Owerri from onitsha for a business meeting, the journey was meant to be a 1hr30min journey or less, but the check point for such short distance was sooo much!!

Like literally every 1km of the road has checkpoint, it's so bad that from a particular check point, you can basically see another check point ahead.

Ranging from the Army to the police to FRSC. Basically every force is on the road and all of them including the army were collecting bribe from the drivers. I actually felt bad for the drivers because it was too much. I felt really disgusted as well because I expected them to distinguish themselves but no they didn't.

I guess this is why the transport rate here is on the high side.

Now I've spent 4hrs on the road due to traffic induced by these forces from blockage of the road

Last week I came back from Abuja to Anambra and the check point were few across the north and I kept wondering.

Is there insurgency in the SE or is the crime rate high here or what exactly is the cause of this excess checkpoints / extortion points
For the northern cabal ruling Nigeria irrespective of where a president comes from, the desires are:

1) the crude oil and gas in the Niger Delta must be secured for Nigeria through heavy policing of the Igbos by Police and other armed forces.

2) Strangulate the SE through continuation of economic war after the shooting civil war.

But strangulation of the eastern part of one’s country while unchecked insurgents destroy the northern parts of the same country amounts to destruction of the whole country.

I have videos and pictures from both streets of Orlu urban and villages. They are better than other parts of the State. I suspect a lot of NDDC projects meant to spread across were cornered to Orlu and Mbano because I saw a lot of tarred inner rural roads compared with other parts of the State I visited like Ngor-Okpala.
The urban roads of NDDC in Amaifeke and Ihioma side of Orlu urban LGA built in 2006/07 - that’s what you had in mind.

But move down towards - between Umuna and Orlu main to Holy Trinity Catholic Cathedral, Bishop Shanahan College, Urban Secondary School along Amaigbo Road, Girls Secondary School - all in Orlu urban LGA, you will see dozens of mud/dust urban roads fully inhabited by people; while successive governors of Imo state demolish and reconstruct Owerri urban roads.

Imo state is Owerri for some people.

which is cheaper?

Building a home from Scratch or Buying already built that matches your taste?

what are the pros and cons?
If it’s in an urban area, buying a fully built house can be better; but if it’s in a rural area, buying or building from scratch is better.

But avoid building commercial house in rural areas.

I toured Imo State this period and I'm still in Imo as I write. Orlu zone has witnessed far more development than the rest of the State contrary to your view. Apart from Orlu zone only Isiala Mbano and Ehime Mbano have seen reasonable development. The most neglected looking are Ngor-Okpala, Ikeduru and Okigwe LGAs. Uzodinma is not doing well in infrastructure as most of the development remains how Okorocha or NDDC left them. Nothing new in Oguta from government. Even the dualisation of Mgbidi-Oguta road started by Okorocha looks abandoned. The quality of work by FERMA at Mgbidi-Ihiala road near Oguta junction won't stand beyond one rainy season.

All in all Imo is not as bad as being circulated on social media but Uzodinma needs to buckle up.
Your assessment. Anyway.
Issue at stake:
the main catalyst to Industrialization and businesses boom in an area is multi disciplinary government university. It enhances mass education and civic enlightenment in the area located, archives the culture and traditions of the area located; in fact, its advantages are inumerable.
Orlu, Owerri and Okigwe were the urban centers of Imo state from beginning.
Imo state can’t continue to have all 3 multi disciplinary universities of government in Owerri but nothing in Orlu which has nearly half the population of Owerri; worse, as the too many students clustered in Owerri give the prostitution capital of Nigeria name to Owerri.

Former governor Okorocha must have understood the foregoing when he started moves for a government university in Ideato followed by his last minute efforts in Nkwerre and other places.

A multi disciplinary government university in Ideato or Nkwere can easily enhance the business and industrial profile of Orlu and nearby LGAs.
You can imagine why someone from Owerri here has, all the time, been calling Orlu a backwater place and sang “obodo n’ile emepechana...” song at any mention of Orlu.

At the rate Atiku is keeping up relevance through Social media for his 2023 ambition; I'm sure some people will soon advice their lord to ditch those Northern trips and begin twitter banters with Seyi to improve his popularity for the 2023 presidential election.

But....if them like; they should comment from now till next year. It will be easier for Arsenal to win a treble than for them to smell power in Aso rock.
Seyi wetin?
But the Seyi’s have inadvertently ruled out zoning for the 2023 presidential election when the Seyis ruled out zoning/rotation for the southern regions, because an Igbo is supposed to succeed PMB.

Zoning is the only thing which can make a Seyi or Okoro or Dokubor win presidential election in Nigeria.

Continue to lie to yourself by twisting narratives. You even claimed Alex Ekwueme formed PDP. I'm not surprised you know, Igbos are known widely to be deluded. Power is never given to anyone in the world, it is calculatively taken. if you are grown and wise enough you'll know that 1998 PDP political convention was more like a continuation of 1993 election, of which the acclaimed winner was denied his mandate. I repeat again, there is no agreement, whether in writing or verbal, between the southern regions for rotational presidency. You thought Yorubas were stupid when they supported Buhari in 2015? You see politics is about alignment, it is about give and take, it is about scratch your back and I'll scratch yours too. But I know Igbos don't know that, they only know politics of hate, tribalism and threat. And no one aligns with an enbittered set of people. So after Yorubas worked to install Buhari for the sole purpose of having their support in 2023, they will now hand it over to the Igbos shey? Just ask yourself if that makes any sense. I ask you again, Are the igbos scared to contest against the Yorubas? Igbos should fight to have PDP presidential ticket, after all Igbos have slaved for PDP for the past 20years, getting the ticket should not be too difficult. Yorubas too will fight to have APC presidential ticket. Then the 2 can now slug it out at the general polls and we'll see who will win. You know already that the Northern cabal will prefer a Yoruba presidency to an Igbo presidency. Nobody trusts embittered people.
So Yoruba scratched Fulani back in 2015, therefore Fulani shall scratch Yoruba back in 2023 to make a Yoruba succeed PMB? No more zoning or rotation.

No more need to consider political correctness?

No more need to put the interest of unity ahead of your Area boy calculation?

All that matters is because Tinubu was party to APC formation, therefore it’s Yoruba turn to succeed PMB?

You are yet to tell why two Yorubas - Obasanjo and Falae - were fielded to fly the flags of the two largest political parties.

See why Sanusi Lamido Sanusi called you people “Area Boys Politicians.” Your machinations are like an Area Boy’s - very hollow, can’t consider untoward results.

Lol...I know you are a young chap who needs education in politics. As I have done to your elders in the time past, I would educate you too.... Obasanjo and Falae contested against Igbos, Hausa and Fulanis in 1999 and won their party's ticket to become the flagbearer. (A simple google search on this would clear your doubts).... I am repeating it again, stop spreading cheap lies, there is no where, whether in writing or in principle where regions within the Southern Nigeria sat down and discussed zoning. NO WHERE!!!! ......Stop spreading cheap lies to suit your narrative. Igbos should be brave enough to contest against Yorubas, let us see who would win.

And to the boldened statement, only Igbos who have no political alliance across the Country believe in such thinking. Northerners and Yorubas who have built bridges know that even the smallest region can win a presidential ticket, all it takes is a wide political alliance, I know an igbo person can't understand that.
Stop lying to yourself.

Most of Yoruba were in a Yoruba-based political party - AD - when Obasanjo and Falae were filled in for PDP and ANPP presidential tickets.
Retired Northern military generals released Obasanjo from prison and pushed him to oust other contestants from other parts of Nigeria.

In Nigeria, power is given, if not, how could OBJ from prison with only N10,000 in his bank account beat Alex Ekwueme who formed the party? Power is given in Nigeria because of the political structure.

PDP was formed by late Alex Ekwueme with his group of 33.

The only political alliance built by a section of Yoruba - mostly Yoruba MURIC - with the north is APC. Are you happy over the level APC led Nigeria?
You people need to be honest in your unbridled power drunk drive to cancel zoning because it’s turn of the Igbo to be in Aso Rock. Your power drunk posture may backfire on you.

If it’s by open competition in any of the political parties, neither Igbo, Yoruba, SS nor any other southerners can win the tickets of any of the largest political parties, talk less, win presidential election.

Facts 1) it’s the turn of the IGBO to succeed PMB.
Refer to the political structure of Nigeria for education on this.
2) in Nigeria, power is hardly contested for, because the god fathers first choose who to be president, then bring the person in one political party to be ratified by the electorate.
