Lack of good education has made some Nigerians see state capital as a place where most of the state's federal allocations should be utilized, when rest of the state remain in development levels miles below the level of development in the state capital.


A State capital is merely the seat of government in a state.

It is absolutely wrong to use the state's federal allocations to economically empower the indegene land owners in the state capital, while others outside the state capital are economically dis- empowered, as in Imo State.

Imo is the only state in Nigeria where all the five federal and state universities/polytechnics in the state are located in/nearest the state capital.

The other towns in the state remain empty. Many people from Owerri are ready to fight any government who talks about relocating one to any of the other two senatorial districts in Imo State.

Every reasonable thing Imo State has is in Owerri.

It's unimaginable why Owerri has not yet reached the Dubai level of development, so that Orlu and Okigwe shall start to see light.

In no other state in Nigeria do we have the three federal and state universities in the state located all in the state capital - except in Imo state.

The two govt polytechnics in Imo state are closest to Owerri Municipal lga.


All the federal Housing estates in Imo state are built in Owerri.

All state and federal ministries are located in Owerri.

All military and police big formations are located in Owerri - even institutions located outside Owerri are closed down as locals twist every state govt to locate everything in Owerri.

I was amazed when I visited Owerri early this year. The city is so endowed with beautiful lady and girls....Wow,I don't know of any other Nigerian city that has such a number of beautiful ladies and girls. Every nook and cranny of Owerri is filled with beautiful ladies.....
Aside the beauty....the city is filled with hotels..Hotels standing side by side to each other..the whole city is lithered with hotels..the city has more than 600 magnificent hotels aside the smaller ones..
There are so many shopping malls in the city...
.Owerri mall housing the shoprite, Aladinma mall, House of jerdans, Everyday supermarket, Priceless, Douglass exclusive etc..
The city is also filled with club houses, Grill centers,Eateries and Resorts....Cubans resort, De exclusive etc

To my surprise, all these hotels and centres are filled up everyday most especially during weekends...People from portharcout, Onitsha, Aba, Asaba, yenagua, Uyo etc fills the city every weekend..

Malaysian boys, Overseas boys, business dooms, millionaires, billionaires, and wealthy politicians are not left out, as the Airport is always booming..

Roads scratched and abandoned in Orlu, Okorocha tells people that contractors ate the money. But contractors don't eat the money and abandon road works in Owerri.

In 2012, Okorocha said he would put N50 billion in building Orlu City. Till today, Ihioma road to Banana junction, Owus Avenue, Bank road and Ilobi street - total of about 5km - are roads of Okorocha govt in Orlu central.

Instead of destroying this Orlu to Nkwerre road, let them leave it. People outside Okorocha and Nwosu's dream Owerri Metropolitan Mega City have resigned to looking forward to a new govt in 2019.

On the issue of their demand for stabilizing electricity in the area ,he said ideato North has a power station and" the Governor is ready to help us connect our light from the station which ensure steady light ,the issue of light will not be a problem to us"

Nwosu said he was proud to have Professor Goddy onuoha as PG of his community and commended him for taking special interest in the welfare of his people as well as coming up with the committee and high calibre of people in the committee which included
Hon. member representing Nkwerre constituency in imo State house of assembly Hon. Chika Madumere,Hon
Rex Anunobi,Nze Chinedu Ajoku,Chief Uwaz Nnadozie,a representative from the Eze' s cabinet .

On the issue of dualization of the road ,he called on the PG to use his good office yo sensitize the people on the need to Dualise the road ,a situation he said will bring development to the area and make it a city .He also said that with the construction of the road ,the concern they raised about erosion menace and floating will be properly channelled.

He used the opportunity to enumerate many good largesse of the Rescue Mission for the people of Nkwerre including Massive and unprecedented construction and rehabliation of roads, political appointments,employment, free education and empowerment of women and youths including the massive empowerment of over 3500 women which he said people of Nkwerre were major beneficairies.

He promised to make himself available whenever called to assist towards stabilization of electricity in Nkwerre and other areas of need.

Earlier in his address the leader of the delegation ,Prof Goddy onuoha had commended the Chief of Staff for his good service to the people of Imo State and nkwerre in particular

He used the opportunity to present their demand to the chief of staff which bordered mainly on the need to stabilize electricity supply in the Area..

For your information, IMSUTH was once classified among the first ten best teaching hospitals in Nigeria when I worked there.

Why site a teaching hospital in the first place in a village or town?Its wrong.It was done probably for political patronage at d time.
U can site a main campus or branch campus of a university in Orlu or any village.Even the preclinical med school can be so sited,but it makes no sense for a teaching hospital.
Teaching hospitals are best sited in capitals or well developed transit towns because of accessibility,and the greater spread and number of patients that will patronize it.Doctors and specualists are also less inclined to be punctual,or take calls in places like Orlu,putting lives of patients at risk.
Places like Orlu can at best have a well equipped general hospital ,not a teaching hospital.

University Teaching Hospital is a research institution, not a general hospital, therefore, teaching hospitals don't require to be located in overcrowded places, like General hospital (FMC in Owerri).

University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital was in Enugu but had to be relocated to a rural town.

Oxford University (John Radcliffe) Hospital is not at the centre of Oxford City.

Anambra, Abia, Delta, and many other states University Teaching Hospitals are conveniently located outside the state capital.

Okorocha wants to end the existence of IMSUTH merely because of excessive greed for his private businesses, because no other Imo state government can develop IMSUTH elsewhere.

In Okorocha 's sense, if he tells Owerri people that IMSUTH shall be relocated to Owerri, therefore Owerri people will not question much when he tells Imo state that the state government's shares in Eastern Palm University in his village has been sold to Rochas Foundation.

On the day Okorocha was receiving licence for Eastern Palm University, he told National University Commission that it has been 12 years he had been nursing the idea of that university.

Anambra state University Teaching Hospital is not in the state capital, it is at Nnewi.

But Okorocha roughened and abandoned the road leading to IMSUTH since 2012, frustrate the doctors and nurses, stopped accreditation, stopped admission of fresh medical students, all in reparation for relocating IMSUTH so as to have a soft landing for his crooked manner in establishing his private university in his village while in office as governor. .
