Literature / Re: Why I Wrote The Book: “we Are All Biafrans” – Author by amakenny: 7:21am On Jun 18, 2016 |
Gkemz: He and others canvassing and waiting for return to true and fiscal federalism to Nigeria may never live to see true and fiscal federalism restored to Nigeria. Even their grandchildren may not see it, so long as crude oil flows in the Niger delta. Arewa soldiers have done the deal long ago. The soldiers sewed 19 states in the old northern region of Nigeria as well as hundreds of local government areas there. Through this, northern Nigeria draws more of Nigeria's shared revenues in a most tight unitary government system. Furthermore, three senators come from each state, so northern Nigeria unduly over-populates the NAAS. So no amount of voting in the NASS can restore true and fiscal federalism because northern Nigeria which profits from the existing political system must vote down true and fiscal federalism. IPOB people are not like the dummies agitating for restoration of true and fiscal federalism to Nigeria. The dummies are merely waiting for Godot. Write another book speculating on return of true and fiscal federalism to Nigeria, make your money, and condemn those on the right path of agitation. 1 Like |

A Minister Kachikwu visit to the site of a proposed university in Gbaramaturu!! Why do Arewa believe that Niger deltans are stupid? After a $1.049 billion worth first twin-track, ultra modern standard gauge rail system in Nigeria was completed with oil money in the north of Nigeria while Niger deltans move on canoes and mud roads; after northern politicians retain most of the oil wells in the Niger delta; after northern Nigeria soldiers created 20 new states and hundreds of Lgas that are used to suck most of shared oil revenues to the north; if bribing some militants and allow the status quo remain is what the dialogue aims to achieve, it is dead on arrival. What is needed is a Nigeria where every state or region shall use what is in or near its environment to develop its people and region, and pay some percentage tax to a weak central government. This formula shall make all parts of Nigeria compete and grow. Any negotiation outcome short of that is postponing the evil day. |

[....In his remarks, the National President of MULAN, Dr Kamal Dawud maintained that to ensure peaceful coexistence in the country, non-Muslim brothers and sisters must understand that Islam is a peaceful religion with some sensitive issues. According to him, “Let our non-Muslim brothers and sisters avoid these sensitive issues and make them no go areas, to allow peace reign in Nigeria”.] Dr. Kamal Dawud is merely telling Nigerians that issues about Islamic like sharia criminal codes are sensitive in Islam, and non-Muslims must respect the use of Sharia criminal codes in Nigeria. But Nigeria's constitution does not allow any part of Nigeria to use sharia criminal codes. Any part of Nigeria which adopts and uses sharia criminal codes can as well count itself off as no more belonging to Nigeria. Gideon Okar was wiser when he removed the present sharia north of Nigeria from Nigeria. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Bear with you for how long? You met about 5000MW of electricity, but now have about 0 MW. You met a cup of rice at about N50 but it now sells for N120. You met peace in the Nigerdelta and Igboland, but now blood flows in those areas. You promised us to make One Naira equal to one Dollar when you met One Dollar equivalent to about N170, but now it is about N375 to One Dollar. 28 Likes 4 Shares |

You believe an eighty something years old (yes eighty something years oil Buhari - because Nigerians of Buhari age use sworn affidavit of age -) can be atop every decision making process in Nigeria. |

The day Buhari returns, he can even order to wipe out the changes CBN is making now; and Buhari shall return to his old and unworkable method of fixing of Naira value to the Dollar. Buhari is an Economic illiterate; all Buhari seems to understand about Nigeria's economy is oil revenues pouring into Nigeria's coffers. Buhari has sat on top of managing cheap cash from crude oil most of his adult life in Nigeria's government circle; managing cheap cash from crude oil is about the only Economics Buhari understands; else, how could Buhari promise Nigerians during the election campaign that he would make one Naira equal to a Dollar? 5 Likes |

Pollution is no more news in the Niger delta. Wickedness t greed made it so. North used its soldiers to crestt ,20 new states in the old north of Nigeria to suck up more of oil revenues., as well as have too many political representation at the NSS. The oil companies shall pay their kobo penny compensation this time a northern Nigerian is in control of Nigeria. Oil companies prefer northern Nigeria people to lead Nigeria. Maximizing their profits is most important. Western journalists were hired last presidential election and they Buhari an angel under four months. Now Nigeria is entering the first recession in modern history, has next to zero electricity, no pipe borne water under Buhari administration. But the foreign journalists that did all the campaign have abandoned Nigeria since Buhari became president. Even news about Nigeria is rarely aired on Western media since Buhari became president. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: True Federalism, Its Advantages And Implications. by amakenny: 12:06am On Jun 14, 2016 |
DEAFandDUMB: You believe Buhari clan can sign up to restructuring of Nigeria toward fiscal federalism? You must believe that the Niger River is in Australia. Buhari merely struggles to sustain the extant political structure which has 20 new federating units and hundreds of local government areas proliferated in northern Nigeria by northern Nigeria soldiers. What the soldiers did was akin to say, US soldiers from the south taking over the US government, divide southern US states like Texas and California into six states each, but divide other smaller northern US states into two or three only, and draw equal numbers of senators and House of Representatives members from the new states to the US Congress, collect revenues from the states and share the revenues to the new states; thus US south starts to gulp more of US earnings than the north. Henceforth, through over-representation, politicians from the south of the US determine what must happen in the US. That is like what northern Nigeria soldiers who created the 36 states and Abuja did in Nigeria. Bottom line is that no federal country created new federating units from the old ones by use of land mass as criterion, as was done in Nigeria by northern Nigeria soldiers who created the states. 9 Likes |

Insincerity on the part of southwest political leaders is what is withholding return to true and fiscal federalism to Nigeria. Last CONFAB, southwest leaders asked for regional government system without fiscal federalism. Regional government without fiscal federalism is worse than the unitary government system we have today. But before merging southwest ACN to northern Nigeria political parties who can't touch return to true and fiscal federalism even with a long pole, ACN leaders then had been begging in every political campaign to restore true and fiscal federalism to Nigeria. Northern and south west Nigeria are merely playing on the intelligence of others over the issue of return to true and fiscal federalism. Methinks, the north and southwest are merely waiting for when crude oil finishes in the Niger delta before they can agree to return to true and fiscal federalism. 1 Like |
