I have other sources of income,I have and manage a nursery and primary school, it started last year February and it's growing by his grace.
I have a big pharmacy store registered, with a pharmacist friend managing it for me.
I want to move into lecturing fully if I round up a particular post graduate program that I am on.

I am not saying all this to boast but to remind you that me and many nurses are not in NURSING for the salary but to help humanity,

What test did they do to confirm that he had typhoid, Widal test? Widal is not a useful test, even you not having typhoid or typhoid symptoms will have those titres in your body. There's a normal sequence that treatment should follow, doctor to lab to doctor to pharmacy. In developed worlds your license as a pharmacist will be revoked for prescribing antibiotics without a doctors prescriptions.
Lastly, if you've not learnt anything today learn this: You don't treat a lab result, you treat the patient (after a thorough clerking, physical examination, making a diagnosis and having differential diagnosis in mind, then to the lab to either confirm your differentials or rule it out, then you prescribe drugs)

I was talking about simple malaria and typhoid with NO COMPLICATIONS.

Many Nigerians when sick love to patronize private medical laboratory and then head to a pharmacy with the test results,

Pharmacists are no novice when it comes to health issues, they are treating people and prescribing in their pharmacy,


And it is working well for some people.

Pharmacists know their boundary, that's why they always say that after taking a drug, if symptoms persist after 3days,see your doctor.

Your doctor writes drug A for you and your pharmacist changes your drug to B just because he feels he is a consultant too, will that not bring about problems. Go to most pharmaceutical shops outside the hospitals now you will see them attending to patients and prescribing drugs, is that how it is done in sane environment? And if you say they won't be changing doctor's prescriptions if they become consultants then why do they want to become consultants if the only job they do in the hospital is to dispense drugs? They should go and become consultants in pharmaceutical and research industry where they can use their knowledge to formulate new and effective drugs. So if someone wakes up and start feeling sick, he goes to a private medical laboratory where they for instance will be diagnosed with malaria and typhoid.
He takes the test results to a private big pharmacy and the pharmacist there look at the test result and prescribe drugs for him.
What's wrong with that?

Are you also are aware Sir that all these other professionals in the health sector counterpart abroad do postgraduate studies but the selfish and what I do not know how to describe attitude of the conglomerate of Medical Doctors are blocking these opportunity in Nigeria? So that these all other health professionals do not get the opportunity to rise to the qualification to head an hospital? Common! you can only pretend not to be aware of this. I am a Physiotherapist if I have my cash today and I establish a Physiotherapy clinic/ hospital. I can establish a clinic and recruit a Medical Doctor, a nurse, a pharmacist or any other health care professional as far as I can pay him/her and he accepts the terms of agreement. I will run my clinic successfully without inviting a specific personnel somewhere because it is an administrative position, I have Medical Doctors as friends while I was in school and after school and there was no part of their curriculum that they were thought on how to run an hospital. Running an hospital is a inbuilt skill (leadership) that any professional in the health sector can do.

When I or any nurse say that we know things in medicine except surgery does not mean that we know more than doctors but rather we are not novice in medical issues.
Knowledge comes not only by degree but by working experience too and by advancing in post graduate studies.

What will make a graduate nurse or even a sound school of nursing nurse not to be able to treat her relative who is convulsing?
So if a child is convulsing and rushed to the a primary health care center where there are scarcity of doctors, the nurse on duty can't do anything?

She wanted to study medicine but unfortunately couldn't pass WASSCE. In order to achieve something close to her dreams, she proceeded to one maternity home where she qualified as an Auxiliary Nurse. It's a shame shes here denying her profession as posing as a university nurse. I don't pity her, it's her husband I pity, she has made it her career to sit at home and be a liability to d husband and d whole family while channeling her energy to insulting and fighting doctors. That's why u see her on NL at odd hours looking for any opportunity to pour out her frustrations on doctors. Go through all her posts and you'll see they are all targeted at doctors while posing as d nurse that she isn't. When it comes to administration of hospitals, yes doctors should not be head of hospitals. Doctors don't have any advantage over other professionals when it comes to managing hospitals.

First of all, I am not a lab technician,
I am a graduate nurse who also spent years in the University,
It is not fair for a doctor to earn the same thing with every other health professionals, but rather we are asking for Equity and not equality.
