chuksbogus: If you decide to be realistic the only health workers that are being looked down in Nigeria and when they go abroad they become hot cakes are the Nurses!!! Yes I said the NURSES.Nurses are tagged money making machine abroad and they are the professionals that are leaving this country in thousand every year not Even doctors. I know some sentimental Dr will come out to argue this but deep within them they know it true.
I have said to my self the closest people in health care industries are the Dr and the RN .they are the people that works hand in hand, they are always together everyday and they are the profession in health that intermarry most.In the states the Dr and RN are very close, they respect each other and value the knowledge and potentials in them. That's why you can see a advanced practice nurses ,consultant nurses ,that does some of the functions of a Dr. But here in Nigeria the reverse is the case. I have seen a final year medical student that passed his finals with the help of a nurse in the ward and most of them during House job have been put through some procedure by a nurse though some will try to e proud and pretend to knew only to keep messing up until a nurse comes to his aid.
On the nurse side too ,they have this mentality that Dr are looking down on them hence they are now always on edge when ever they are dealing with drs. Ready to attack but by and large there are still good Dr and good Nurse out there. I think this two professionals should come together to and resolve their differences and unite. Then they can face the govt and get what ever they want. Nicely put. My time staying in Nigeria is rounding up, The traveling money is not an issue, Just let my infant little baby boy grow up. My colleague who resigned and moved to Australia showed me her salary scale and I couldn't believe it. Hahahahahaha. Those who leave Nigeria are making it. Nurses are not appreciated in this country. I can't go to university, graduate, and currently doing my post graduate program only to end up fighting Johesu war. Lolx. One of my doctor friend left Nigeria last week to Austria. If you get chance to leave, no matter your career or profession, you leave. . Sometimes I don't blame these yahoo guys. Nigeria is dry |

Are they the only professionals in this country? Maybe the government should start paying them millions monthly, maybe they will stop nagging. This is not an attack, they are needed in the country but they should understand that the problem is from the corrupt system. A teacher in a government school is paid peanut, A police man is paid peanut Same with soldiers. Any doctor that have chance to leave the country should leave, That's the best thing to do. |

Emmzie: I want to know if the two are somehow connected to each other. Your opinions will be highly appreciated. It's complicated Masturbation relieve stress and anxiety for some people. . But when you masturbate excessively, it can create a feeling of guilt especially when you want to stop it and you can't. When you find it hard to stop, there is this feeling of failure and frustration especially after you ejaculate. That feeling of being a failure can affect you psychologically in a negative way. You start having complex issue as if you are not normal. . So if you are having an anxiety disorder and depression. You need to see a psychiatrist or a psychologist for help. Some people who suffer from this find antidepressants useful in combating this. . Another way of eradicating anxiety disorder and depression is becoming more sociable, It helps to boost self esteem . Make new friends, join some association, Hang out with friends, Avoid being lonely and staying away from people. The more you work on your social life, the more it boost your confidence. It's very important. . Another thing is also appreciating yourself, Anyone who is not confident and proud of his physical outlook may have anxiety issues. Like a boy with K-leg,he may develop some psychological issues when mocked at school. So love yourself. . I wish I can go on and on. .. Thanks. |

Tell that to the UK nurse consultants, consultant pharmacist etc. Get lost. Imagine intro anatomy and physiology. Smh. these guy's ignorance amazes me as if the title consultant is their inventor. They are so incompetent to the extent that all they can do is to dispense drugs that were manufactured in China and India, they can't make anything. Useless people. The more you talk the more I doubt if you are really a medical student. You sound so empty to be one. I really doubt it, maybe you are a physiology graduate who is just bitter. . Nigeria pharmacists don't manufacture anything according to you, Have you heard of Emzor, Orange drug pharmaceuticals, Juher, Drugfield etc What are they manufacturing? Are they manufacturing cheap brain so that people like you can afford it? . Doctor wannabe. |

IamGoke: May I know what you had in JAMB?? It seams is your only point of argument when arguing with other professionals.
Must everybody study MBBS
Going through this thread thoroughly, most of the people studying MBBS are doing that because of the pecuniary gains attach to it in Nigeria only and not because of passion!!!
FYI, year in year out, I've never seen an MBBS aspirant having the highest score in JAMB and POST UTME so why the fuse of this JAMB score.
I dare you to put up your JAMB score and I will also drop mine to see whether you even come close talkless of comparing ....
p.s I'm not an health worker. Nonsense!!!! You even have time to reply the guy,I just ignored him. To them, everybody want to study medicine but Jamb stopped them. Very shallow mentality. Braggarts and empty. That is to show you why Nigeria health system is a mess. . |

Vindarlo: NMA is an arrogant entity. If you think the only way to remaining relevant is by suppression and subjugation go have a rethink. The health sector in Nigeria is in a mess because the international standard is not followed. Health care is multidisciplinary. Mutual respect for all the team members. Your candle can't get brighter by putting out other people's candle light. Since the medical doctors have been in charge nothing has improved in our health sector. How many of our leaders patronize your hospitals? Shame! I know how many lives that have been saved at the hand of incompetent doctors by the intervention of a nurse, pharmacist and the others the paid OP is castigating. I love that quote. Your candle can't get brighter by putting other people candle off. The funny fact is that when you try to correct them on things, The next thing you hear is that you are jealous of them and wanted to read medicine but jamb stopped you . To them, all nurses, pharmacists, med lab scientists etc wanted to read medicine but Jamb stopped them. Hahahahahahaha. . It's very funny. |

OgaInnocent: You are here again? Did you read my write-ups? I'm expecting your comment. Why not. I read it. You started from a neutral point and then end up being sentimental. Government are not treating medical professionals well in this country, I agree . My postulation in that thread is about the N.M.A Cold War with Johesu. We support them demanding for better treatment from the government the same way johesu expect them to support us. Whatever agreement we johesu have with the government or whatever our demands are should not be a treat to them. They have been kicking against johesu interest secretly for years now through the ministers of health who are doctors. We need partnership, They support us, We support them. In Canada, there was a protest by doctors over being overpaid and for the welfare agenda of other health professionals to be met. That's mutual respect and cooperation. . I have no issue with doctors, I have many of them as friends in my work place and I have worked with them a lot. The man who fathered me is also one. Plus two siblings in the profession. But we have to put things in place. Them themselves are being exploited in Nigeria, What a doctor in Europe is earning a month is far superior to what a doctor is earning in Nigeria, That's why many of them are leaving. . Johesu is not in any war with NMA. . As for your later part, You don't expect a medical lab people to allow microbiologists to take over their job. You said that you read microbiology In your first degree, you thought you will compete with med lab guys but reality dawned on you. Maybe you are now in the medical school and you now deem it fit to be antagonizing anything med lab. . Secondly. We university graduate nurses have no issue with school of nursing trained nurses, A nurse is a nurse except Auxiliaries. . Everybody is important in the health sector. Even the gateman at the hospital gate. Thanks. |

Glitzcaret: @naijaking you sound ignorant so let me educate you, ×As a Pharmacist you must attend West Africa college of Pharmacist, undergo a residency programme in an accredited institution e.t.C before you become a consultant ×Consultancy in Pharmacy is not a Nigerian invention, is practice all over civilized nations and doctors don't feel threatened. You de mind them? Only them are educated in the health sector, others are not. Let me mind my business before they say that I am envying them . . |

mercifull: Is it true? that Dr's are joining JOHESU to make the union complete. That would be great! So that all health workers will speak with one voice. whether they join or not is not the issue. We need each other in the health sector. Karma is real, doctors in Nigeria are earning peanut compared to doctors who leave the country for Europe, They have been demanding for better treatment by the government which I have no issue with. But I don't understand why their N.M.A is anti johesu in nature, They work underground to fight against our interest, It's wrong. He that holds a person down at the ground holds himself. What is needed now is a strong solidarity between N.M.A and johesu. |
