The former house of representatives, Ile-Ife federal constituency, Hon Rotimi Makinde has declared his interest to contest as member of house of representatives come 2023. He declared his interest in his hometown today 9th of March 2022 in the presence of party faithful across the constituency. Makinde is a top scribe in the SWAGA 23' agenda for His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu for presidenct come 2023. According to his speech below... DECLARATION OF INTEREST TO CONTEST AS A MEMBER OF IFE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ABUJA. Great Icons of Ife Federal Constituency Great Leaders and Loyal Members of our Great Party, The All Progressives Congress (APC), Traditional rulers. My Great Leaders. First of all, let me express my profound appreciation to all of you for the trust, and honour on me to peruse this piece. It is a special and historical bulletin from me to you. You all sacrificed that our dear constituency can still trek on its path of greatness and resume its lead position in grassroots, women and youth developments among the league of constituencies. We want to see IFE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY prosper and outmatch its present state. We need men of intelligence, integrity, dignity and excellent character to contest for elective positions and rescue our dear constituency and to move us faster. In as much as we have hundreds of people with such attributes in our dear constituency, yet we need to face the reality of choosing one, the most ready, trusted, experienced and most importantly that have been tested in such capacity and who is ready to protect the interests of the common people of our constituency. I have, therefore, decided that I will formally declare my intention for the position of member of House of Representatives, IFE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY. This decision was taken after a careful and well extended consultations with party leaders most importantly the people of IFE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.. I am that welfarist you know and that goal getter who I ever committed to his communities.I have the educational skills and the ability to serve and represent the constituency .I have done it before and I can renew my energy for the familiar routes.I remained very active and honoring the calls of the party, attending and participating in meetings and events of our great party and the constituency at large. I am a tested ally of the people and my service records as a legislator in the lower house remains unbeatable in the public domain. I served as a federal legislator in the year 2011 - 2015 and as the deputy chairman of the committee of human rights at the lower chamber of the National assembly. The primary duty of a legislator is to make laws, move meaningful motions and sponsors bills while the secondary duty is to lobby and supervise projects. In all my years of service, I attended all legislative days with vibrancy and uncommon courage. I sponsored more than bills and I moved more than meaningful motions. I was everywhere across the constituency with my social programmes and touching lives and most importantly i allowed my generousity speaks foe itself.because I am a symbol of the common people especially the grassroots and very liberal . I remain passionate about lives especially women and children. A lot of meaningful motions and projects were moved, but could not see the end of the tunnel because I was not returned to the house in 2015 , and my successor could not continue from where I stopped because out call and party principle and personal knowledge of legislative runnings of the house is very different. I sponsored several bills as a first timer while serving as a legislator in 2011 - 2015. All these bills can be easily traced and confirmed from different sources such as internets, National Assembly database and other relevant sources. As a child who grew up without spoons in the slums of Ile-Ife town and with the sole support of my parents, I pulled myself from this stagnancy and despair. I faced the future with uncommon courage,my primary and secondary education was in ile ife and Modakeke area and I struggled hard to utilize slight opportunities into useful products to have masters in finance. That was why I became determine to create opportunities while in service of nnpc where I voluntarily resigned to answered the communal call tattoos me this far. I took up the baton of responsibility by focusing on youths engagement, and ways of empowerment became my worries and concerns and all these can only get better. It is sad, unfortunate, pitiful and lamentable that all these wonderful actions taken and non sentimental and selective social programmes ended with my tenure, and people of IFE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY have been subjected to titular leadership. This notion does not befit us as elites, literates and responsible sons of the soil. We need to change the narratives and the gear at which our constituency negatively moves towards self ruin. We need to plan together and rescue our constituency from the generation of stagnancy, despair and not fielding ranking to maximise dividend of growth. I am now wiser and much more ready to priotise expenditure and in the know of what my people truly need more.Your mandate, I so seek. As I move around this constituency, living with them and interacting with people of the downtrodden; I listen to their concerns and worries about the deplorable state of this constituency. I could see the disappointments and neglection on their faces. Expectations have been shortchanged because they need someone who will think about them. Agriculture, education and unbiased meaningful assistance and improved standard of livings, provision of tools for better living. They have spoken through their interaction with me in this little stopped over and that they are tired of nursing a wounded heart . Inspite of all, they still believe and trust and they are still placing their calls of service with positive energies, that need to be honored by choosing the most ready for the task ahead. This places on us the responsibility of stewardship. It is the consciousness of this national responsibility that has guided my political adventures; and it is this call to service that I have come to answer once again. My records is known to my party and the public are eagerly waiting to see the needful for they know me well and I know where the shoes pinches them. I hereby call on all leaders of my great party, APC, traditional rulers, captains of fields and the great people of IFE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY to join me on this historical, political journey guided by responsibilities as I am more determined to make us proud. Thank You. Hon. Rotimi Mikahil Makinde

Predictably, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun mfr will be returned to office for a second term in an expectedly keen governorship election contest. The interesting thing about this forthcoming election is the fact that it has presented us with a unique opportunity for a multi-layered assessment of the governor Abiodun's signature achievements in the last three and half years. What is more interesting is that this assessment has brought to the fore that good governance, coupled with integrity and resourcefulness, that political god-fatherism and monetary inducements to sway voters in Ogun state politics is fast eroding in the face of evolving sophistication of the electorate who are hardly swayed by monetary inducements. The people are now more than ever politically mature and well informed to determine conscientiously who leads them with their votes. This is why the consensus of opinion across the Ogun State political spectrum and even beyond is that the tested and trusted Dapo Abiodun deserves a second term as governor and his continuity agenda will be most appropriate and beneficial to all and sundry in Ogun State. Indeed, a seamless transition of the Dapo Abiodun's administration to second term in office would provide a continuum of progress, stability, sustainability and consolidation of an unchanging quality of people oriented programmes, policies and projects. In the spirit of good governance and purposeful leadership that characterized his first term in office, Dapo Abiodun has pledged to work with conscience and integrity for the good people of Ogun State, to continue to uplift their socio-economic wellbeing and ensure that a lot of them move from the lowest rung of the ladder to at least the lower middle class by reducing the poverty level considerably By Hon Oluwaseun Adebowale Matico SF House of Assembly Aspirant, Obafemi-Owode State Constituency, Ogun State.

Our attention has been called to a cheap reaction by some interlopers towards the realignment of APM Leaders in Ipokia LG to the mainstream APC. The publication claims "following the collapse of its structure in December 2019, the political class in Ogun State has been told that APM under which Hon Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade contested for governorship is no longer in existence". It states further, "All former members of APM took part in the last APC membership revalidation exercise across Ogun State and till date carry the membership card of APC with pride." It also claims the held convention at an unknown place, producing who and who as their Party Excos at the State and Local Government levels? From the above, it is crystal clear that the APM Leaders are never sincere in collapsing their structure into the APC as they only came to see if they could unsettle the peaceful and speedily progressing APC Ogun Chapter. They became disgruntled when they couldn't achieve their dastard plans. How could those claiming to be in APC hold a parallel Congress? Why are they silent about the venue of the said Congress they held and the party officers produced by their Congress? President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR is a foremost leader of APC in Nigeria and in Ogun State, the Executive Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR is the Leader of the Party while Chief Yemi Sanusi is the State Chairman of APC in the State. Anyone who is outside this hierarchy duly inaugurated by the National Leadership of APC can never claim to be APC member as falsely claimed by the APM. It will interest the public to note that these disloyal elements have been holding separate meetings at Ward levels in some areas especially Ipokia LG under the name of an individual as if a Political party is one man's personal business venture. We can only congratulate Ogun State people for their courage to have rejected them in 2019 else, we would all have been actioned today. For anyone to be in APC in Ipokia Local Government today, he must be under the constitutionally recognized leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun and Chief Yemi Sanusi. Many of the erstwhile leaders of APM have personally abhorred the selfish leadership of their former party leadership and decided to go with the mainstream APC due to the enabling environment being created by Governor Dapo Abiodun and various projects being executed in Ipokia LG and across Ogun State. These seasoned politicians have seen clearly that one man is only using their destinies for his selfish gains and will repeat the failed strategy of 2019. This informed their early moves to the APC to work for the continuity of a responsible, responsive and altruistic Governor who is spreading development across the State. Within two years of his administration, the Governor fixed the age-long Odo Afa road which their leaders could not fix for solid eight years. He is attending to other roads, schools and many of our healthcare facilities which were all abandoned previously. As ingrate as the APM crooners are, they berate the quality of the Leaders who have taken a bold step in their political careers all because they stopped being misled when they referred to those leaders including former Local Government Chairmen and Commissioners as being cheap and procured. Well, it is not surprising that 'use and dump', character assassination and cheap blackmail remain their identities. In conclusion, it will be appreciated if those misleading uninformed citizens desist from such acts and toe the path of honour by recognizing the duly constituted authority in Ogun State APC being that Gov. Dapo Abiodun is the leader of the party in the State and the party chairman under the leadership of Chief Yemi Sanusi. The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State is ever ready to accommodate all those who abandoned ship and are genuinely remorseful of their past actions (and inactions). Those holding parallel meetings in their wards and private residences should be advised to jettison such. Signed: Hon.Tolu Mauton Poviwede, Publicity Secretary, Ipokia LG APC.

By Solanke Ayomideji Taiwo ......A DECADE OF MAKING THE INCREDIBLE AFFORDABLE Recently, Forbes Africa featured one of the leading property entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Group Managing Director of Adron Homes and Properties, Aare Adetola Olaniyi Emmanuel king whom was among whom the journalists visited to inspect most of the massive projects executed by the developer, reports. Though, this is not the first time the Group Managing Director of Adron Homes and Properties, Aare Adetola Olaniyi Emmanuel King is dominating the pages of newspapers. Apart from Forbes Africa, he has appeared in several newspapers following his contribution to the development of the economy by providing employment and shelter to Nigerians. His company, Adron Homes and Properties, today is one of the leading real estate companies engaged in the acquisition, development and management of housing sector across Nigeria with its properties highly diversified with respect to design and styles. From inception, Adron Homes and Properties made it a policy and priority to build the best housing estates at affordable prices following the slogan "Making the Incredible Affordable" This strategy elevated his company to be one of the best housing developing companies in Nigeria. Despite his achievements, his wealth and affluence doesn’t influence his actions. He is humble, intelligent and a smart young man. He is one successful man whom many would want to work and identify with, not particularly because of what he has accomplished but for his enthusiasm towards uplifting and empowering everyone he comes in contact with. Aare Adetola Olaniyi EmmanuelKing is a devoted Christian and a great philanthropist with a heart of gold. He is a firm believer in the development of his community, he uses his personal financial resources to spread change and contribute to areas he is passionate about. One of many such contributions cuts across the infrastructural development all over the country and other basic human capital projects. Aare Adetola Emmanuelking, just like Conor Mc Gregor, astutely believes in taking inspiration from everyone and everything, gets inspired by current champions, former champions, true competitors, people dedicated to their dream, hard workers, dreamers, believers, achievers to guide him on his journey so far. Listening he believes gives one the opportunity to learn more because of course, “nobody has monopoly of knowledge.” You cannot pretend to have all the knowledge in the world as nobody knows everything, and nobody knows anything. He is a highly motivated and innovative entrepreneur who has attended diverse management courses in order to improve himself. His experience spans information technology, human resource management, manufacturing and most importantly process and systems driven construction management. Aare Adetola Emmanuelking is a customer centric entrepreneur, he consistently talks about how client must have value for money anytime they key into any of his projects. He believes so much in his human resource as he claims that only a motivated work force can propel any organization to greatness. Aare Adetola Emmanuelking, however, started like many other Nigerian businessmen. At first, his big dream to make Nigerians sheltered in the most affordable comfortable housing standard won’t succeed but with sheer hard work, determination and commitment, he was able to conquer the obstacles and achieve a major feat on that path. His humble beginnings began with him working as a strategic team player for a company in real estate, unfortunately along the line, he encountered a personal issue that has to do with his life .He approached the company for assistance which they declined. However, his lovely wife Olori Aderonke Emmanuelking, stepped in to support him which helped him in surviving the travail. This incident birthed his zeal to focus on himself and his aspirations. Consequently he said to himself “it’s time to provide Housing for the middle class,” and led him to resign his white-collar job to begin his quest. The industry despite all Aare Adetola's achievement still has a long way to go to satisfy the growing demand of Lagos , Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Suleja and Abuja residents in providing sufficient housing for them. According to him, the country is lacking about 17 million houses with about 60-70 per cent living in slums and informal settlements. The Centre for Affordable Housing and Finance in Africa, estimates that 700,000 more homes are needed each year to keep pace with the population explosion. “I went into the housing sector because I was propelled to serve Nigerians in housing sectors after attaining my masters at the University of Ibadan. For everybody, when you look at your needs, it’s probably food first and then you think of shelter. So there is no way anybody that is providing shelter will get it wrong. I think there are enormous opportunities to tap into in the Nigerian housing sector market today and the reputation of the developer matters a whole lot. In the operational aspect of construction, there is a tendency to drive up the cost of the construction because most of the finishing materials are imported and so the restrictions of FX make it difficult to import these goods which drive up the price. On the other hand, a property that was selling at $150,000 can now go for $100,000 if the person has FX, so for these people, there is a higher advantage,” Aare Adetola Emmanuelking said. The vision of Adron Homes and Properties is to become a leading real estate management and development company in West Africa. In recent times the success recorded by the company in the previous decade confirms that the company is indeed edging closer to its dream. Adron Homes and Properties today without any iota of doubt has emerged as one of the most highly rated and respected building construction companies in the property development business. The company and its workers are dedicated to providing custom-tailored solutions and high standards of advice. Every business, he said comes with challenges but with determination and commitment, there is a higher probability of swift progression. “Usually, we look for money to develop one property and once we sold that, we build three more properties accompanied with aggressive and consistent marketing to get subscribers to buy and continue with the cycle in a bigger scale.” he added.

The executive Chairman of Abeokuta South local government, Hon Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi has appealed to the youths to shun cultism and ritual making to get money. This, he said, will lead them to nowhere while speaking with Amebo Newspaper NG correspondent, Solanke Ayomideji Taiwo in his office. An indigenous group, TIWANTIWA, has kicked against foreigners representating the good people of Obafemi-Owode at the state house of assembly. It could be recalled that most of their representative after Rt Hon Samson Tunji Egbetokun, the former speaker of Ogun State house of assembly has been people claiming indigeneship of Obafemi-Owode which at the end of the day result to low performance from people's expectations from them. The group made this known to newsmen today, in Abeokuta while Hon Bisi Oyemade, the Coordinator talked bitterly on the foreigner taking charge of what belongs to the indigenous sons and daughters of Obafemi-Owode local government, which he described as negligence on the part of the sons and daughters of the soil. However, he called on the true sons and daughters of Obafemi-Owode local government to engage themselves in active politics to enable them project the image of the constituency as well as represent the good people normally because they know what the constituency needed at a particular time. "We want to charge the true sons and daughters of Obafemi-Owode local government to engage themselves in active and viable politics to ensure quality representation, enough of all these foreigners coming on board when election draws nearer to take advantage of our slots at the state house of assemblies in the state" Oyemade said. He categorically stated that the group is an independent organization composed of eminent sons and daughters with main focus on ensuring that true sons and daughters represent them at the state house of Assembly. In nostalgic manner, he recounted the good old days when the likes of Hon. Dele Erisan and Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun represented, boasting no one has been able to surpass their legacies. They used the opportunity to call on apex leaders, to heed to this clarion call and ensure that the ugly trend is reversed. The group appreciated the efforts of apex leaders in the recent appointments by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun mfr. Also, he congratulated the chairman of All Progressive Congress APC in Ogun State, Chief Yemi Sanusi for a successful inauguration despite all odds. He commended the infrastructure projects of Prince Dapo Abiodun mfr across the state, assuring the governor of maximum support during his electioneering campaign for second term.

Popular Abeokuta Business Mogul, Otunba Oyedele Citiside Bags Masters Degree In Public Administration The popular bar owner, Frontpage and Citiside boutique in the state capital of Ogun State, Otunba Bisi Oyedele has bagged a master degree, MPA in public administration. According to his Facebook post: Celebrating My Academic Journey; a Lesson for the Generation Next. To the glory of God and virtues of responsible parenting, I convoke today as one of the new set of graduands at postgraduate level in Public Administration as a holder of MPA from Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye after years of rigorous academic sojourn. It neither came on the platter of gold nor a product of pursuing mere peer cruise, I pursued it with vigour as to help my political vision and to assist me be a top-notch Entrepreneur. Today, I'm celebrating a victory I got in December 2019, it's a long term dream and an achievement I have hoped for as a teenager who does legal businesses with unusual avalanche. Education, right one so to say, cannot be isolated in the success factors of business giants like Tony Elumelu, Alakija, Mike Adenuga, Jim Ovia, Oba Otudeko to mention just a few. They read, create, think, grow and unleashed, so why not me! Growing up from where 'business as usual' predetermines limit of success has placed a burden on some of us who do the usual things in unusual manner; either you are perceived as a ritualist or internet fraudster! It highly unfortunate but understandable considering happenings in the contemporary Nigeria. It's pathetic to read in the news that some teenagers ranging from 17-20years could go as far as slaughtering a lady all in the name of making money. At age 17, I was supporting my parents' business with a high determination of attaining academic success. At 20, because of the opportunity available in my community (Idiroko in Ipokia LG) as one of the border towns, I became fully active in business, buying and selling goods, making good profits. I jettisoned it all when the University admission surfaced as I know with certainty that it would model me to attain my dreams. To the Glory of God today, I am an entrepreneur with more than 50 workers on my payroll. I have vast experience in import and export , Fashion, Entertainment and Relaxation Business, all these would have been history or done in the usual 'apes obey' manner if I didn’t obey the academic call. Though, the road to greatness is never smooth, there are tribulations and distractions, but one has to remain focused. We are not there yet but by the grace of God, we will get there In December 2021, I was picked up randomly in an event centre by an antigraft agency, the Highest in the Land. I was questioned and thoroughly investigated with some undertones from political oppositions and business rivals. I am glad I came out clean and was released with no indictment whatsoever, while a good number of others were convicted and still in detention for being found wanting. My Question is, Is Making Money worth Ending in jail?. I can boldly say it anywhere and anytime, only a few youth can be scrutinized and come out with no black spot in our country today. This simply attributed to social vices and illegitimacy that is fast becoming a culture. The "Dont spoil your father's name" advice has been thrown away in pursuit of quick wealth. We can all find a legitimate path to wealth creation rather than jeopardizing our future and have our families name truncated. Our Agents of socialization need to be strengthened especially the family, religion, school and the media. The balancing of social equation amongst these variables would go a long way in the contemporary youth development matrix in Nigeria. It may not look it today but definitely the future holds the best for us, please SHUN RITUAL KILLINGS AND ALL FORM OF ILLEGALITY, the Eagles eye is watching and will definitely catch up with you some day if you do. RE: PDP REP ATTACKER SET TO DEFECT TO APC - FALSEHOOD FROM DISTRACTOR The attention of the media team of Rt. Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya, Deputy Minority Whip, House of Representatives has been drawn to a news making it round with title" THIRD TERM AGENDA: PDP REP ATTACKER SET TO DEFECT TO APC. We ordinarily should not deem this refutal necessary by dignifying the author of the purported false release but the mention of the person of distinguished Rt. Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya, ATTACKER propelled thus; The alleged attempt defection of Rt. Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya ATTACKER to APC is an imagination from a bunch of wishful thinkers whose objective is to soil ATTACKER'S reputation into mud. For the purpose of clarity, ATTACKER is the only PDP House of Representatives member from Ogun State and An Official Leader of People's Democratic Party PDP in Ogun State. At no time did our principal, ATTACKER contemplates on leaving PDP for APC. ATTACKER'S benevolence of political brilliancy is the key factor that is promoting the party across the senatorial districts of the state with quality representation. He remains the image maker of the party using his political prowess to promote the virtue of PDP in the State. Immediately after his reelection in 2019, Rt. Hon. Adekoya swung into developmental actions plans of mobilization with strategic implementation of legacy and people's oriented projects across the 3 local government in his federal constituency and other local government such as Odogbolu, Ijebu Ode, Imeko Afon and Abeokuta. The personal visit of H.E Otunba Olugbenga Justus Daniel FSE FAEng to the 2022 annual get-together held on Monday, 3rd of January, 2022 at federal constituency secretariat of PDP did not come as surprise but a testament to the good work and seed of progress OGD imbibed in ATTACKER when he served as Commissioner during the government of OGD between 2003 to 2011. The lazy claim that ATTACKER is under performing is another fallacy from lackadaisic element of uncultured and retrogressive politicians whose business is to spit balderdash for crumbs from their unprofessional paymaster. The constituents of Ijebu-North/Ijebu-East/Ogun Waterside federal constituency within and outside the country attest to the outstanding and quality representation of ATTACKER in the green chamber. Among his legacies projects are Bill for increment of teachers years of service in Nigeria, bill for the establishment of Federal College of Education (Technical), Paramilitary Academy and bill for the establishment of Federal College of Entrepreneurship and skill acquisition and other numerous projects in health, education, electrification, road networks, water, human capacity training and skill acquisition, community halls, on-going City Stadium, on-going construction of Orimolusi palace, on-going Oni ultra modern jetty etc. Rt. Hon. Adekoya is one of the few grassroot politician per excellent that is loved by the Royal Fathers, Spiritual leaders, Academias, Youths, market men and women, his political acumen stands out and an embodiment of progressive leader. ATTACKER is MR PROJECTS, an outstanding brand that is keeping the legacies of PDP's founding fathers in heart of electorates in the state. On a concluding note, while leaders of the party in Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside federal constituency are waiting for ATTACKER's official declaration of his ambition for 2023. We which to state categorically that our principal remain formidably an official leader of Ogun PDP and bonafide member of the National Executive Committee and National Caucus of the party under the able Chairmanship of Dr. (Sen.) Iyorchia Ayu. While enemies of progress within the party are chasing shadow, true leaders of like-minds and promoters of good governance remain committed to responsive delivering of democratic dividend through committed party men to the electorates across the state. Rt. Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya, Deputy Minority Whip, House of Representatives remain unshakeably committed to PDP in Ogun State. E-signed ATTACKER MEDIA '23

In a few hours we would have crossed over to the new year, in reflecting on the year gone by, I am drawn to thank the lord God Almighty for how far we have come as a people. Surely, with the pandemic supposedly in its 4th wave, we have noticed that its effect is not as devastating on our social life as the year before where we could hardly gather to sing the Christmas Carols. We must be happy for indeed the mercy of God endureth. We must nevertheless not be careless, we must pay attention to all the COVID19 protocols until the siege is finally over. The year 2022 will be demanding on us as its a year leading to the election year 2023, and as it is expected the national space will be more politically energized with its attendant consequences. Bearing this in mind, it is important that moderation and civility must characterize our activities. I therefore call on all security agencies across the length and breath of our country to be more observant and responsive to any potential breach of the peace. Politicians must be made to conform to the dignity of democracy which in my opinion is a contest of ideas aimed at service to humanity. On the economy, greater effort must be put into things that can grow the Nigerian economy and a sure place to start will be a reworked process by which small scale enterprises will be helped to grow and contribute more, for that is the surest way to stem the unemployment bulge which is very high right now. We must soberly accept that our present arrangement is inappropriate for the security challenges we are confronted with which has not abated for so long. Only fools will refuse to change when change is all the needed effort to stem the orgy of violence and criminality that has characterized our nation. We cannot refuse to embrace multilayered policing if we mean to confront this ugly situation. States are matured enough to be allowed to have their police, the fear of abuse pans away in the face of our security challenges. It is brainless and lazy to think we cannot fathom how to do this even with the present governance structure that we presently have. Electoral Reform; democracy as an ideal is not stagnant, as such, a people practicing democracy must never shy away from improving the accessibility of the people to the decision making process. In a democracy, without an improved electoral process we would be impeding the entire idea. People must be given an electoral process that is fit for the purpose. In our case we must liberalize the candidate selection process for that’s where the choices available to the people starts from. The present arrangements where a handful of Governors constitute themselves into bullies of the candidate selection process cannot truly be democratic. A system must be put in place where dues paying members of the political parties will have a say in who their flag bearers are, will to my mind be more democratic as it will encourage a larger number of our citizens to get involved in the democratic process at party levels, knowing that they have a stake in who is chosen to represent them. There is no overstating that the transmission of results needs less human interference and electronic transfer of result right from the polling unit straight to the national collation centers is progress. We have observed continuously over the years that results are tampered with and outcomes changed as a direct consequence of how we handle the will of the people once they have casted their votes. There is nothing to be gained if the status quo is maintain save for bickering, endless litigations and most ashamedly the disenfranchisement of democracy, for what is the point in a flawed process that throwaway the will of the people. Many conversations have occurred as to how do we live within the shared national boundary, Nigeria. Some have captured it under the popular term restructuring, which to their mind, a round table will be needed to take in the views of all ethnic nationalities. Much thoughts given to the idea has left me with a settled opinion that yes we must give more powers and authority to the constituents components of our country, as it will unleash our potential as a rainbow nation and it will engender peace, progress and prosperity. We have wobbled enough, it’s time to stand up and walk like the Giant of Africa that we are meant to be. We must be decisive in our fight against corruption and I believe the best place to start is with the managers of our subnational economies aka The Governors. I cringe watching these set of people stride across our country in boastfulness and undue arrogance, many of who are just stealing their states blind with little or nothing to show for the huge resources that accrue to the state. All around you observe that the present effort at fighting corruption is way too selective and damn too lackadaisical making one to wonder if we are serious at all. A good place to start is to begin to profile and go after governors in the penultimate years as a way to slow down the graft we all are witnesses to, that way we will hold them to better account of their stewardship. We cannot continue to stumble on the same stone. As we commenced the new year it is my prayer that according to the word of scripture “Change the former way of life that was part of the person you once were, corrupted by deceitful desires. Instead, renew the thinking in your mind by the Spirit and clothe yourself with the new person created according to God’s image in justice and true holiness." — Ephesians 4:22-24. I believe that if we all as Nigerians commit to this, we can be assured that our God who has been faithful to us in the past will be ever faithful to us in the new year. Welcome to 2022 and May the lord bless and keep us all.

The Nigeria Institute of Soil Science (NISS) is primarily charged with the responsibility for regulating the profession of Soil Science in Nigeria. It was established by an Act of the National Assembly in the year 2017. The Act establishing it also establishes the Council of the Nigeria Institute of Soil Science and the Nigerian Institute of Soil and the Science Disciplinary Tribunal. The Act stipulates that: the Institute shall be a body corporate and shall be governed by the Council and that the Institute shall, among other things, regulate the practice of the profession for Soil Scientists. While presenting the award to the Commissioner for Agriculture in Ogun State on behalf of the institute, its South West Coordinator, Professor James Adediran said the Commissioner is well known to him as someone who is always working for success. He said," Two decades ago, I have known the Commissioner and I am not surprised that what we see on Televsion showcasing the activities of this Ministry by his leadership were happening through him" "For that reason, the Nigerian Institute of Soil Science notes that you are at the Vanguard of promoting Agriculture and making the state proud; making the Governor proud. We therefore contended that the stride of this man is worth appreciating to encourage him to do more". Professor Adediran informed that the Soil Society of Nigeria recognised the problems associated with soil management and administration and as a result recommend to the National Assembly the need for the establishment of an Institute of Soil Science which the government embraced. This according to him had conditioned its resolve to invest in soil test, evaluation and management. This is with a view to promote agricultural productivity and yield, knowing full well that using the right soil in planting is a primary prerequisite towards promoting agricultural productivity. Dr. Odedina Said: "I want to tell you that the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun recognises the importance of soil to agricultural yield and productivity early enough. That is why, one of the very few jobs we gave out in this industry at inception was the job to the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training IAR&T to evaluate soil in the twenty local government area of the state". According to the Commissioner, when the government received the report, it called a stakeholders' meeting to review the result and it was a surprise that the local farmers were complementing the result through their various submissions. "This is to tell you that as government, we recognise the importance of soil. So,I can tell you that this visit is timely. And ,now that I know that the institute exists, and it is ready to carry out that function,we shall be working with you, either with investors or on our youths programme, so that we can evaluate our soil, so that we do not get caught in the area of non - productivity of primary production", he said. While assuring the Institute of collaboration and support, Dr. Odedina: "We now have the institute of Soil science that can partner with players in food and farm sector, so that we achieve food security. Dear Gov Dapo Abiodun, I trust you are well, there is a time for anyone in charge of any establishment, let alone a state, to read the riot act to parents, the school authorities, and the students! That time is now in Ogun, education is mouthed-ly our legacy, I have observed for some times that we have ebbed really low compared to states that do not have our known history in education, a comprehensive peer-review will help you see just how far behind in new investments in education we have gone, no pun intended as such, I hope you order the review to help give you an idea of the urgency. I have watched hopelessly as unacceptable stories have emanated from our schools, primary school children behaving in the most delinquent manners, that cannot be a reflection of who we are or how we plan to groom the next generation, now it seems the situation has gone worse as now the madness going on has been weaponized and according to reports and images uniformed law enforcement officers as ranking as a divisional police office now get stabbed and butchered. That must be a last straw for what type of citizens can anyone hope such youths will grow up to become and what type of danger would that be in future. A stitch in time will prevent the garment from becoming rags! Do something urgently and fast too. Whatever you desire to do must be such that no one is left in doubt that this madness must stop immediately. — Segun Showunmi

LEAD DEBATE ON A BILL FOR AN ACT TO ESTABLISH THE FEDERAL COLLEGE OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SKILL ACQUISITION, IJEBU-IFE, OGUN STATE, AS AN INSTITUTION TO OFFER FULL-TIME COURSES LEADING TO THE AWARD OF NATIONAL CERTIFICATES OF EDUCATION, DIPLOMAS etc, (ESTABLISHMENT BILL, 2021) Sponsor: *Rt. Hon. Adesegun Abdel-Majid Adekoya* Mr. Speaker and Distinguished Honorable colleagues, this Bill which I am passionate about has an unprecedented capacity to produce men and women with entrepreneurial and vocational skills for the new Nigeria that we seek in which skills rather than academics shall catapult us to a self-sufficient, and a producing economy and no longer a consuming economy that we largely are today. *WHY THE CHOICE OF IJEBU-IFE, IN OGUN EAST?* As I speak, dear Honorable Colleagues, Ogun East Senatorial District of our dear Country, Nigeria, has NINE (9) Local Government Areas with no presence of any Federal Government tertiary institution. The District keeps producing brilliant school leavers, year in year out, with 95% of them drifting to urban centres and Cities for better means of livelihood. So, when this institution is eventually established, it will stop rural-urban migration on the one hand, apart from bringing Federal Government presence to the Senatorial district, for the first time since 1960. *WHY SEEK THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SKILL ACQUISITION CENTRE?* Today, Mr. Speaker, there are over One hundred and seventy duly accredited universities as of 2021. The figure includes 79 for privately owned, 48 for state owned and 43 owned by the Federal Government. In the same vein, there are a total number of 151 polytechnics in Nigeria. It is also instructive to place on record that we have over 47 federal monotechnic institutions in Nigeria. No doubt, these Universities especially those that were established for the purpose of developing our Technology-base, the polytechnics and monotechnics are producing fantastic graduates who are breaking new grounds here and there, but are they all programmed for entrepreneurial or vocational skills so much so that they could add to the value chains which Nigeria is in dire need of? It is a known fact that we now seek expertise and experts from Senegal, Ghana, Togo and Benin Republic etc for PoP designing, bricklaying, tilling, painting and many more when our young boys and girls who are school leavers keep seeking White-collar jobs that are few and far between. I cannot fantom or even stomach a situation when several years after independence, unconsciously and unknowingly, we are conferring expertrate status on Ghanaians, Senegalese, Togolese or Benenoise who ply their trades in Nigeria when we can produce and encourage similar artisanship capabilities in our people. So, one way to encourage young Nigerians and make those skills available, accessible, and surplus is when there is a school that can offer our young school leavers formal education, train them in those skills and they are certificated as appropriate. In the last one decade or so, our young undergraduates and even secondary schools students have started to combine formal education with vocational training to acquire skills in: Cloth making, Fashion design, Cosmetology and make-up artistry Tying and Dying, Paint-making/Painting Tilling , Pastry and baking, Bead making, Soap-making, Hairstyling and barber's skills Shoemaking Handsets repairs Automobile repairs Computer repairs and Software installation Livestock farming Bricklaying Vocalnizing Event planning Electrical repairs Arts and crafts Home cleaning Disc jockeying Website designing/ Computer Operating Smithing Upholstery making PoP Ceiling Designing Food and Nutrition Brick Making, and many more, too numerous to capture here. It is so done in view of the fact that after leaving schools, jobs may not be available. Therefore, when this College is established, our children across the country shall have an Institution that can offer them skills and certificates having acquired needed vocations at the school. Moreover, it is my fervent belief that as a people, we need to begin to look beyond our BOOKISH SOCIETY and embrace skills which will make our generation next, independent, self-reliant, self-employed and indeed employers of labour. Practical training and knowledge-based engagement will produce the future builders of our economy. Finally, Mr. Speaker and my Honorable Colleagues, if we hope to reduce unemployment, which has since created insecurity, crimes and criminalities, fraudulent tendencies and other vices that are making us lose our sleep in our homes, the way to go is through entrepreneurship and vocational skills acquisition which the Federal College of Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition, Ijebu-Ife, Ogun State, when established, seeks to provide. For me, the more the numbers of vocational skilled entrepreneurs we are able to churn out, the more money there is to be made and kept within the economy and we thereby shut the doors against foreign artisans. *Given the huge national and personal gains or benefits that would greet the establishment of this, one of a kind institution, Mr. Speaker and my dear Honorable Colleagues, I seek your support to allow this Bill to be read the second time.*

The bill to establish the College of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition, Ijebu-Ife has entered first reading at the National Assembly, Federal House of Representatives, Abuja. The bill was sponsored by Rt. Hon. Adesegun Abdel-Majid Adekoya, representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency in Ogun state. Rt. Hon. Adesegun Abdel-Majid, PDP also doubled as the Deputy Minority Whip, and the only representative member out of nine members at the green chamber. According to Adekoya, the bill will enable the youths and women to gain more experience on skills acquisition to make them become self reliant and busy to boost the economic development growth of Ogun State. "In this era; if you want to sew ordinary cloth you will need to get a tailor from Senegal, to get a Tiler you call people from Benin Republic, to get Plaster of Paris P.O.P, you would need to contact Ghanian expertrate, and Togolese expertrate is needed for you to fix your compound Interlock when we can train our Youths on how to do all these things perfectly..."said Attacker "We have lots of unemployed graduates in the society that are seeking for job, this skills acquisition would help our people get engaged and more skilful in all the modern days jobs, This college of entrepreneurship will not only assist their career but give them what to eat and cater for their families" Attaker added. Meanwhile, Hon. Adesegun Abdel-Majid is known in his constituency for facilitation of projects for the wellbeing of the people. Recently he constructed mosque, church, market stalls, roads and bridges, schools to make life easier for the people Amebo Newspaper NG learnt. The residents of Igowaju-boun-okerala in Simawa area of Ogun state has run for their lives over the invasion of suspected hoodlums with heavy arm and ammunition. According to eye witness report, the suspected landgrabbers were invited by Oba Adewale Adeniji Oniraniken to secure land in that area. Meanwhile, our reporter published a story of about thirteen villages which Oba Adewale Adeniji, Oniraniken said to have secured a frivolous judgement over the ownership, has resulted to the high level of insecurity in the community and nearby villages causing pandemonium to the residents over fear of being attacked or kidnapped by the hoodlums. The level of insecurity has risen above comprehension after Oba Adewale Adeniji, Oniraniken invited the armed bandits today again, the said land (over 4, 000 acres) which he believed they will secure the land for him despite court order and rulings on ownership of the property with their guns and weapons. Other villages affected by the insecurity are Okerala Odofin, Okelara Apena Seriki village, Okerala Tarogun village, IpaVillage, Ososa Village, Simawa village respectively, leaving the residents in daily fear to perform their daily activities over fear of being kidnapped and killed by these men.
