The house of representatives candidate of People's Democratic Party, PDP in Abeokuta South federal constituency has expressed the readiness to win election in 2023.

Amuzu, who revealed this during a familarization meeting held at People's Democratic Party, PDP secretariat along Oke-Mosan today 12th of September, he pleaded to the party members to enter all units in getting more members to join the wining party towards 2023 election.

The distinguish personalities present at the meeting were, Hon Oladipupo Adebutu, Hon. Abdulkabir Akinlade, Hon Olumide Aderinokun, Hon Idowu Olowofuja among other candidates of the party to welcome the new members to the party.

Meanwhile, he talked on the court case where the All Progressives Congress, APC sued the governorship candidate of PDP, Hon Oladipupo Olatunji Adebutu and it's deputy, Hon Abdulkabir Akinlade during the weekend, he told the members to ignore the distraction that it lacks merits in all ways, saying the opposition party is only looking for a way to distract the candidates of People's Democratic Party, PDP because they knew the party is very ready for the election.

" I welcome the new members to the People's Democratic Party, PDP, I can assure you that I will always support the wellbeing of my people in Abeokuta South federal constituency at all times, I want to appeal to you all to move out in mass to campaign of our party once the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC lift its embargo on campaigns for political parties in the country, I am ready to lead the campaign to all polling units to express our readiness to win elections in 2023" Said Toyin Amuzu.

Also he said "On the court case, I want to urge you all to ignore the jamboree as the opposition party is only using that to distract us because they know we are very ready to win elections, let us continue with our works without exercising any fear." He added.

However, Hon Oladipupo Adebutu said fifteen states out of the thirty-six are in total support of the presidential candidate of People's Democratic Party, PDP left with seventeen which he believes having four more state will make them win with landslide victory in 2023.

He implored the members to improve in their membership drive and bring all aggrieved people in other parties to People's Democratic Party, PDP saying it is the only party that can touch people of Ogun state directly on infrastructure projects without any doubt.

Reps Deputy Minority Whips, Adekoya to empower over 3000 constituents before the end of the year

The Deputy Minority Whips, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Adesegun Abdel-Majid Adekoya has announced his plans to empower 3,000 people in his constituency before the end of the year 2022.

Adekoya is representing the good people of Ijebu-North/Ijebu-East/Ogun Waterside in the green chambers, House of Representatives, Abuja and he is seeking for third term from his people to complete the on-going Legacy projects in his constituency.


According to him, 800 students to get Bursary Award, 100 to be trained and empowered on cosmetology, 100 to be trained and empowered on poultry farming, 100 to be trained and empowered on Tie & Dye (Adire) business, 400 old men and women to get relief grants, 400 market men and women to get grant to support their businesses, 23 Youths to be flown out of Nigeria for ICT training and empowerment.

Meanwhile, Quarters Chiefs, Baale’s and Royal Highnesses are also not left out. The empowerment will be achieved in tranches starting from last week of the month of September, 2022

The Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Adesegun Abdel-Majid Adekoya at the weekend warned Nigerians to steer clear of religion and ethic sentiments while voting to elect new president during the 2023 general elections.

Adekoya who is currently representing Ijebu-North/Ijebu-East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, urged the electorates to vote for competence, rather than party, religion or ethnicity in the coming elections.

The lawmaker, who spoke at the N500 Million Naira Fund Raising for Community Development Projects, organised by the Ago-Iwoye Great Thinkers Trust Foundation (AIGTT), in Ago-Iwoye, Ijebu-North Local Government area of Ogun state, said religious and ethnic sentiment led the the country to the current economic and security challenges the nation is presently facing.

"Therefore, in 2023, electorates should make it a matter of priority in electing competence in the general elections".

He said, "in the coming elections, people should not look for Party, Muslim, Christian or whatever. At the level we are today, and the extent APC has taken Nigeria, people should look for competence and for someone who can fix the country's economy.

"People should not consider religion or ethnicity in the coming election. The Yoruba people don't care about your religion or what you believe in.
I am the only elected PDP in Ogun State and I have never considered ever joining APC.

"Our challenge is economy. The economy has been bastardised, so, what should our people look out for before voting a candidate. First, is economy followed by security. Government should do the needful like we passed a bill that I co-sponsored. It's for the recognition of Vigilante Group. If the vigilante group bill had been assented, there will be no need for Amotekun in the South West or Ebugbuagu in South East."

Welcoming guests to the ceremony, the AIGTT Chairman, Board of Trustees, Major General S. A. Awosanya (rtd), said the ceremony was a convergence of indigenes of Ago-Iwoye both at home and in diaspora to raise fund for the developmental projects in the city in the area of health, agriculture, education and youth empowerment.

He said, "since government alone cannot meet the needs, yearnings, and aspirations of the citizens, AIGTT seeks to complement the efforts of government and also bridge the gap by providing interventions in some identified critical sectors of the economy".

The youths of Imeko-Afon local government who believed Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun is denying then commissioner position in his cabinet made several moves to carpet the governor and Hon. Jemili Akingbade who they believed is closer to the governor.

Despite the fact they transferred their aggression on Hon. Jemil Akingbade, he maintained his stand and backed Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun and explained reasons why he cannot challenge his decisions but he is hopeful that the governor would do something on their request in no time.

However, Akingbade persuaded the youths to set aside any grief in their heart and focus on the reelection of Prince Dapo Abiodun for second term to achieve any of their requests.

Our correspondent also learnt that the lawmaker was attacked and called several names all because he expressed his unemployed support and loyalty for Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun but he never succumbed to their threat instead, he persuaded them and pleaded for their support for All Progressives Congress to triumph in the forthcoming election, saying he believed Mr Governor would do the needful at appropriate time on the issue of nominating a commissioner from Imeko-Afon local government.

My little Oxford dictionary defines politician as “person engaged or interested in politics” and politics as “science and art of government; political affairs or life or principles etc.” Politics consists of “social relations involving authority and power”. A politician is defined as one who is actively involved in politics or one who holds or seeks a political office. A politician is an individual who is involved in influencing public policy and decision making in government.

Politicians play a central role in our lives. They are the concentrated voices of the people that make all efforts to improve their constituencies and peoples’ welfare. Good and dependable politicians are delight to serve the people and consider themselves as servants and people their paymasters. They represent the hopes, aspirations and the interests of every citizen in the state. The government instituted among men is the elected representatives who are also known as the politicians. These politicians are required to implement social reforms and policy measures that contribute to the general welfare of the populace.

As the politician’s qualities are his characters that are natural, while some of the qualities are as a result of external influences. Promising politicians qualities are often backed by skills, experiences, intelligence, integrity, with instincts -all combined together to achieve their goals. First and foremost, the best quality of a politician is honesty, God fearing and loving. A faithful and effective politician is trustworthy and reliable. He must capture the essence of truth, display sincerity, candour and practices what he preaches. Hon Toyin Amuzu has all the above qualities after thorough investigation by our media house, if he is given the chance to represent his people, he would never fumble.

Also, A good and competent politician makes decisions and accepts responsibility for his actions and his words. The same is true in his dealing with his people. He makes promises and keeps those promises. Somebody that people may be relied upon. Loving people with all his heart, might, mind, soul and striving to help them as a true mark of responsible politician, without any iota of exaggeration, Hon Toyin Amuzu fits in with the above qualities.

Moreover, a fake politician, will after taking the oath of office with the Holy book and lousy thanksgiving services, use their power as an end in itself, rather than for public good, making them indifferent to the progress of their citizens. A good politician becomes the image of his creator. A good and responsible politician will give high regard for morality, law abiding with no tendencies to corrupt even a single cent or kobo.

Toyin Amuzu's greatest strength is deriving joy in serving people even when he has never tasted a kobo from politics. He knows that a fulfilling and meaningful life is created through service to others. He believes in the saying that "To be an effective politician, your followers must have trust in you. And the very best way for a politician to build trust is to display good sense of characters and qualities composed of values, beliefs, traits and skills."

Another important quality of a good politician is integrity and technical skills to handle those challenging assignments, fiscal matters, policies, plans, projects, ideas and initiative solutions to problems. Integrity is consistency of actions, methods, measures, values, principles, expectations and outcomes. It is doing what is right, both legally and morally at all time even when no one is looking. Since politicians play very significant roles in the administrative processes, especially having hands in thousands of important laws and policies to their communities and country, they should be well-educated, modest, with experience in social welfare, volunteering or should have done some good work for the society. A politician should have a thorough knowledge and up-to-date information about the constituency where he is going to contest an election., Hon Toyin Amuzu is blessed with wisdom and reservation on particular matters at every point in time.

Hence, a political career is meant for the people of high integrity and additional skills to achieve results and finding better ways of making life better for the people they represent. Politics are not meant for dropped-outs, area fathers, thugs, assassins, criminals, illiterates’ god-fathers, inept, dubious and corrupt politicians. These person, apart from being greedy doesn’t know the importance of education and can never invest properly on it. Good governance, transparency and accountability will be eluding states and nations where these above mentioned set of people found themselves in the corridor of power., Electing Hon. Toyin Amuzu to represent the good people of Ogun state will be a good move by the electorates to get the dividends of democracy without stressing ourselves.

An incompetent and irresponsible politician will make people to hang around his house like bees to honey to feed them with “amala”, “tuwo” or “eba”just for days. He prefers to give out expensive gifts, donations and bribes from tax-payers money to win elections. An achiever will not need to do such things to win elections or people to their side in all ramifications. That is why you will hear people saying “Politics is a bad game of deceit and hatred”, “Politics is a do or die affair”, “Politics is a dirty business”, “Politicians are very sick people” and so on. It is those politicians of limited merits and capabilities that are bad and not politics. They cannot do more than their moral and intellectual capacity. A true democratic government is the best concept for the growth of any nation. A good politician enriches lives and feeds souls of many people and not making them to become beggars, touts, kidnappers, armed-robbers and fraudsters.

Toyin Amuzu's Resonsible Lifestyle

Toyin Amuzu is well disciplined personality with selfless service to make live better for his people. This should be reflected in the community where he lives in all ramifications. Discipline is necessary for an orderly society and political life, without it, the social life would become miserable. A selfless service is putting the welfare of the people you’re representing before your own. Winston Churchill described it as “the first of all human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees all others”. A good politician firmly believes in taking care and maintaining the community of his people. He believes that community service is about giving back. According to Theodore Roosevelt, “the most successful politician is he who says what the people are thinking most often in the loudest voice”. A person or politician who is with criminal background, or any links with criminals or whose allegations on corruption have not been cleared by the law court should be disqualified to participate in elections.

Toyin Amuzu's Loyalty To The Party

Responsibility and party loyalty is another quality of responsible politician in a democratic state. Toyin Amuzu is nearer to his people and meeting them to understand their problems. Only fake politicians are seen by voters when an election is near or change parties as footballers change clubs. As every parent has its responsibility to teach their children the principles of moral, culture, truth, sincerity to be self- responsible, so politicians need to integrate its citizens with importance of political responsibility and democratic values. A politician leads by example and knows his minimum responsibilities as an elected representative. A politician comes to politics to work for his constituents and not to work against them.

Toyin Amuzu is the beck and call of the people and ready to listen to everybody. All these build a strong foundation for a dynamic society which will create solutions for any challenges, and finally develop strategies and political systems that will help implement those solutions automatically. He is quick to give hand to his fellow man. A reliable politician should be very loyal and committed to his party which shares his vision and goals. The value of loyalty simply depends on trust. A citizen should belong to a party with most brilliant, skilful, patriotic and dynamic people with common goals and aspirations. Team work best when they have common goals, mutual respect and understanding of each party member’s strength. Politics is to unite and reach consensus and not to divide or create enmity among people. Power is only a product of collective action.

Good politicians show respect to the views and experience of others. Nobody has a monopoly of wisdom.

He who aspires to be a great politician should have the ability to find and analyse problems in their constituency and find the best solutions for all these problems. There is no problem in this world without solutions. A good politician knows that simply giving consistent effort in the little task of services, social reforms, kindness or sacrifice in day-to-day life leads to true greatness of a nation. If all politicians make it a point of responsibility to develop and make life better for people in their units, wards, constituencies, states and regions-we will definitely have a great country.

ASUP Mapoly Issues 5 Days Warning To Ogun State Govt., Management To Accomplish Promises On Constitution Of Governing Council, Salary Payments





The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, ASUP Mapoly chapter has issued a five days warning to Ogun state government and the management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, to fulfil their promises on the domestication of the Polytechnic Act (2019) and the constitution of Governing Council.

According to the press statement jointly signed by Osifalujo Babatunde, Chairman and Adegunle Tomisi, General Secretary, after the emergency congress held today Monday, August 8, 2022, which considered the response and compliance to the resolutions reached at the tripartite meeting held with the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (Mapoly), Abeokuta and the Unions on 18th July 2022 in response to persistent issues contiguous with the welfare of their Union members and the sustenance of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in consonant with communiqué of ASUP Congress dated 19th July 2022 where these issues were first deliberated and resolved on an 8-points resolutions that were sent to your office by the Union.

Thus, the Congress observed and deliberated on the following, that, The Union revisited its deliberations in suspending its planned industrial action earlier scheduled to commence at midnight of Tuesday, 19th July 2022 relying on the agreement reached at the tripartite meeting of 18th July, 2022.

Meanwhile, The resolutions of the Union as contained in the communiqué dated 19th July, 2022 were reappraised.
The response of the Ogun State Government to resolved only an item of the entire undertakings freely made to the Union at the expiration of the timeline of 5th August, 2022, The inability of the Management of the Polytechnic to put in place strategic plans to solve some internal challenges as mandated by the Honourable Commissioner of Education, Science and technology due to its precarious situation and financial incapability.

The challenges posed to welfare of members due to non-payment of staff salaries which had ceased to be paid since May 2022.

Consequently, the meeting resolved that in view of lack of financial capability of the Management of Mapoly and the inability of the Ogun State Government to fulfil their promises on the domestication of the Polytechnic Act (2019) and the constitution of Governing Council, the Union hereby issue an immediate five (5) days warning strike for the Government and Management to accomplish its promises.

The People's Democratic Party, PDP candidate for Federal Constituency in Abeokuta South, High Chief Toyin Amuzu, has promised to focus on security and education.

Amuzu who made the promise at an interview with Amebo Newspapers NG correspondent, said that security, road infrastructure and education were the major needs of the people of Abeokuta South.

You know representation is all about the interest of the people, insecurity is one of the major challenges bedeviling my dear state.

"Abeokuta South Local Government Areas (LGAs) are among the most affected areas by insecurity., Also most of the major roads in the local community is very bad for motorists, take a look at Oke-Jigbo area and Lantoro as example, the road connect to Ijaiye but people of my constituency prefer plying alternate route because the road will damage their vehicles.
If my people elect me in 2023, I will ensure the challenges of roads, socio-economic activities and the education system in our communities are in better shape.” he said.

"If I am opportune to be elected as a member representing Federal Constituency, I will support the state and federal government to address the challenges affecting our people." He added.

"I will also partner with security agencies to address the security challenges in the state., the issues of cult killings will come to an end and my people will go with their daily activities without exercising any fear of attack by unknown people”

Toyin Amuzu, the house of representatives candidate of People's Democratic Party, PDP has congratulated Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu on his victory at the Federal High Court today 29th of July, 2022.

Toyin Amuzu in a letter to Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, the Governorship candidate of People's Democratic Party, PDP in Ogun state said that the Friday’s judgment of the federal high court, Abuja has put an end to the series of litigations on the forthcoming governorship poll in 2023.

The APC candidate, in the letter, asked Hon Oladipupo Adebutu to accept his congratulatory message since all the cases were over.

Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu was confirmed as the governorship candidate of People's Democratic Party PDP, by Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja in the suit between Jimi Lawal vs PDP, INEC & Hon Oladipupo.

Jimi Lawal was challenging the emergence of Hon Adebutu as PDP governorship Candidate in Ogun State. Justice Taiwo held his ruling citing many Legal authorities that “who is a delegate to vote in a primary election is exclusively within the domain of a political party and the court lacks the Jurisdiction to entertain the suit as it will mean delving into who is the proper delegates to vote at the primary”. He therefore dismissed the suit.

FG Asks All Educational Department To Implement The Retirement Age Of Teaching Staff From 60 to 65 years, A Bill Sponsored By Reps Deputy Minority Whips, Rt Hon Adesegun Abdel-Majid Adekoya







The federal government of Nigeria, has implemented the retirement age of teachers, assistant education officers, and technical instructors from 60 years to 65 years, with 40 years length of seevices today 25th of June, 2022.

Recall that the bill was sponsored and received assent by President Mohammadu Buhari this year 2022 to enable the teaching professionals have more time to exhibit their skills in their respected fields of study.

According to the directive signed by Andrew, David Adejo, The Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Abuja, directing the teaching profession, education officers and assistant technical instructors to apply the 65 years length of service and 40 years length of services would apply irrespective to their postings.

RE: IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEW RETIREMENT AGE AND LENGTH OF SERVICE FOR THE TEACHING PROFESSION (EDUCATION OFFICERS, ASSISTANT EDUCATION OFFICER AND TECHNICAL INSTRUCTORS)

Following the enactment of the harmonized retirement Age for Teachers in Nigeria Act. 2022 recently signed into law by His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari, the new retirement age of 65 years and length of service of
40 years would apply to all Education officers irrespective of their posting while emphasizing more chalk-in-hand Teachers with a view to maintaining standard, monitoring and inspectorate functions.

2. Arising from the above, there would no longer be boundaries in the implementation of the harmonized retirement age/length of service for Education
oficers/Teachers. However, those who are not interested in the elongation.

Scheme should apply for retirement from service in line with extant Public Service

Rules.

3. This circular supersedes earlier circulars on the subject as the harmonized retirement Age Act. 2020 is superior to any guideline.

4. Please, bring the content of this circular to the attention of all Staff for guidance.

A grassrot politician and analyst, Hon Ayo Adesina has advised youths across the states, to shun decadence and social vices.

A pressure group, Attacker Think-Tank Leaders on Wednesday expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for upholding the party’s primary election which produced Rt Hon Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya to represent Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside federal constituency.

Amuzu, who challenged Nigerians and particularly youths not to shy away from their civic responsibility as patriotic citizens, equated having PVC to living a life.

He appealed to prospective voters to register and collect their PVCs to complement their eagerness of participating in the forthcoming polls.

“I use this occasion to call on all eligible voters, and particularly those who just crossed 18 years old, to see voting in an election as their civic responsibility. They should go and register and obtain PVCs.

“It is not enough you are showing support, love and you want your candidate to win. You must first of all obtain your PVC. We will do all possible to encourage it.

“We will roll out machinery that will go round the community to ensure that those who have not registered, get registered within the shortest time. So, this is the way we will go about it,” he said.

The Egba High Cheif, Amuzu expressed displeasure over the level of voter's aparthy with the recent statistics of the continuous voters registration.

He pledged to strengthen enlightenment and education of people in local communities to encourage them to get their PVCs.

He also identified long distance and lack of centralisation of the registration and collection centres of PVCs as some of the problems associated with apathy.

The green chamber aspirant also urged Nigerians to conscientiously deploy their PVCs and return PDP to power.

“There are a lot of factors responsible for this. The registration centre is not easily accessible to so many people.

“Sometimes, you have to travel from one place to another before you get to that location. That is why in my community, the young people have shown their enthusiasm to get their PVCs,” he said.

The flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ijebu-North/Ijebu-East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency ahead of the 2023 general elections, Rt. Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya has appealed to those who contested the primary election with him to accept the result in good faith.



Adekoya prominently known as ATTACKER in Nigeria political circle made this known through his media office on Thursday, following a purported protest organised by one of the contenders jostling for the position in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.



“Though, I have emerged the Party candidate, but I can tell you that in line with the internal democratic principle of PDP, we are all winners”



The PDP Chieftain who doubles as Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives disclosed that elections are not won on social media, stressing that the elections which produced him as the candidate of the party was in line with the laid down rules and regulations of national secretariat of the party.

“Our party is a very organised one. And the national secretariat of the party has a credible channel of redressing grievances arousing from election. The Elections Appeal Committee was in the state to the best of my knowledge to handle such issues”

The statement advised the aggrieved aspirants not to see the election as a do or die affair, but a service to humanity and an avenue to further put smiles on the faces of the people of the federal constituency.

Adekoya disclosed that all the aspirants who contested the election with him will be a potential stakeholder in his administration, advising them to avoid whipping up constituency sentiment to champion political goals.

The Four State Constituencies of Ifelodun, Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu-East and Ogun Waterside, which form the Federal Constituency have always had a robust interaction in the past, and the spirit should be sustained in order to put the party in its usual winning ways in the area.

Hon. Adesegun Abdel-Majid Adekoya is returning to the house of representatives for the third time after he has successfully served his people through empowerment, sponsoring of people's oriented bills and moving of motions that will directly benefit human race.

One of the bills he sponsored and got presidential assent, was the increment of retirement age of teachers to 65 years, a bill which will encourage the teachers nationwide to justify the belief that the older they got, the wiser and more knowledgeable they became in the bid to nurture young minds to contribute positively to the process of nation building.

Also, Adekoya has successfully sponsored bills for establishment of Federal College of Education (Technical), AKO, Ago-Iwoye, Para-Military Academy, Ijebu-Igbo in 2019 and got approval, others are Bill for establishment of Federal College of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition, Ijebu-Ife to enable the youths get elevated with skills and acquisition to the society.

2023: Sowunmi Reacts To Certificate Of Return Issued By PDP National To Adebutu Amidst Court Cases.

The governorship candidate of People's Democratic Party in Ogun State, Otunba Segun Sowunmi has reacted the the certificate of return issued to Hon Ladi Adebutu by the National Chairman Iyorcha Ayu today at the PDP secretariat, Abuja.

There was separate primary election in Ogun state between Hon Oladipupo Adebutu and Otunba Segun Sowunmi, where both of them emerged as the candidate of the party with their delegates.

According to his statement, "On the so-called certificate issued on Ogun PDP Governorship.

What came to my mind upon hearing that despite the cases before the court on the OGUN PDP governorship primaries, very typical of them, they have gone on to purportedly issue a worthless piece of card to one of the contenders.

Please ask them what became of this type of lawless shenanigans they tried it in 2011, they failed, in 2015 they failed, and in 2019 they failed.

It is too early to celebrate in 2023. Let us wait on the courts.
