God specifically told Lot and his family not to look back. They were to press forward. They were to look ahead. They were to make progress. They were to keep longing for the things ahead and not the things behind. Some chaps that were brilliant in primary school become dull in secondary school. Some were extraordinary in secondary school and they were nowhere to be found around any university. Some people graduated but never went on to secure good jobs or spouses. They succeed in school but fail in life. Rise above all that and look not behind thee. As you are sound in primary school be more sound in secondary and most sound in the university and then go on to be sounder in real life. In marriage, at work, in family and other life stances life finance and others. Why don’t you have a car again? Where is your house? Why was it sold? You have looked back if you had a car before and are now car less. Rise up my friend and look not behind thee. It is easier to get there than to stay there. God will empower you to get their fast and stay there in Jesus name. Amen. Somebody that was in the front before is now at the back. That is not what God said. Rise up. Rise up, rise up, straighten your gaze, don’t turn your head and or neck.

If you will not look back and you keep moving, you will reach the place to escape to and enjoy your victory. If you determine never to look behind it will safeguard you. A story was told about some soldiers some years ago. They went to war and their captain burnt the bridge over which they had passed so no one could run back. They knew they can’t go back and they fought to finish. They fought with the whole of their heart and being and won the battle. The burnt the bridge behind them. I challenge you to burn the bridge behind you today. That bad friend that you have let go is yet calling you? Delete the number. That former thief that you were together before is now inviting you, don’t respond. Cut off all links that will lead you back to Sodom. Coming out is not sufficient, stay out!

Don’t even look! Look not behind thee. Didn’t Lots wife hear? She did but wanted to see behind her. She was interested in what was happening behind. You are not missing anything you left behind. When God says move, move for good and believe the best is what God has provided at the moment. Thinking its better where you left will make you look back. Many have gone to their ex-boyfriend or girlfriend. They remember the past and fall again. They are caged and entangled again. Many who have dropped their resignation letter go back to the previous place of employment and are held afresh. I know the story of a woman in a place I worked previously. She had a good offer from another company and tendered her resignation letter. The management persuaded her to stay with promise of higher pay and position. She stayed and got a raise and a new position. The company reorganized and moved her to a place where she does not interface with the public but just within the company. She lost that opportunity to move to another company. If she had gone after a while she could write again that she is willing to come back and she would state her terms. Another man, about the same time had similar opportunity and moved immediately. He worked for a while with the new company and moved again. Currently he is running his own company and doing his thing. That’s the benefit of not looking back. Life is a risk. Take calculated risks.

I know of a man who was assistant branch manager in a company then. He resigned from the company without any other appointment to immediately go to. He applied to many places and eventually got a place as a branch manager in another company in the same city. Today he is a regional manager and has his own subsidiary which he manages with his friends. He took the risk. Not taking a risk is even risky! He did not look back and today is stronger than even his boss who was the branch manager of the former company that he left. The owner of Amazon.com left his job to start amazon. It was really crazy then. How can you leave the known for the unknown? How can you leave certainty for uncertainty? He never regretted leaving his former company. He never looked back. Today amazon is well known while his former company is not even popular.

Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt. What exactly was she trying to see? She wanted to gaze at her former friends. She wanted to see the city again. She wanted to know how the burning is happening. She wanted to see their former house. That singular disobedience cost her a lot of losses. It cost her family a lot. Her husband lost her and her children lost her too. She lost her life also. Friend God wants me to let you know that the moment you have escaped don’t look back. Don’t settle for less. God is calling you today to a lifetime commitment to his way and his doings. Follow his instructions. It will benefit you.

Education › Ko Si Igba Ti A Da Aso Tia O Ri Le Fi Wo (yoruba Language) by AmeLonRo(op): 10:32pm On Mar 11, 2019
One of our experienced but new writers sent this in this Monday (today). I read it myself and its loaded. Enjoy it.

Iba awon agba gidi. I don’t want anything fake says Baba Kumuyi. We are here again today with our Yoruba language talk. “Ko si igba ti a da aso ti a o ri le fi wo” literally means there is no time that we buy, sew or make a clothe that it is not desirable or befitting. It’s a powerful proverb and loaded with meanings. Thank you and praise to the elders. Agba ko ni tan ni ori le. Amin. The proverb can be used to encourage someone who has failed in life, or an examination and all his/her mates have moved to the next phase. The failed individual is told to calm down that his/her time will come soon. The water you will drink will not flow past you stuff! It can also be used to help a person who has been trying to achieve something and was not able to or have been severally disappointed by circumstances. That proverb is used to tell the person to take heart that all will be well with him/her. The proverb can douse depression I suppose. It can douse anxiety. It can create hope for future in a person who has no opportunities but look forward to one.

On another note the proverb can make a person to become complacent, lackadaisical and nonchalant. For an unserious person the correct proverb should be “Mura si ise ore mi, ise la fin di eni giga”, “Igba ati akoko ko duro de eni keni”. A young person who is supposed to be in the university at age say 20 but is lackadaisical about academic pursuit and what it entails can cite this saying “Ko si igba ti a da aso ti a o ri le fi wo” and go on in self deception while the life is being wasted. It’s like saying “whats gonna be is gonna be”. Its like accepting fate and whatever life drops on one’s lap. No sir. No ma. Banks, telecoms and other corporate industries all over the world have age limit for entry level. And that age limit is coming down every year. Previously it was 30 years maximum for entry level, later it came down to 28. Much later still it came down to 26 and now 24 is being considered. Why is this so? Hot brains are in hot demand in corporate organization all over the world.

An eighty years old great grand woman in one of the African countries recently started school. Its funny ko? In reality it’s a big joke! She is starting from primary one. She never went to school. Those who love follow up should focus their follow up on her and see that she may not finish even that primary one. She may miss classes. Okay, okay, lets be optimistic ba? Our system of education is 6-3-3-4 sort of. That’s six years in primary one to six. Three years in basic one to three. Three years in Senior Secondary one to three and then four years to bag a degree from a University. That’s sixteen years. Add that to her eighty years. That’s ninety-six years. She will bag her degree at age 96 fa. That is if she does not fail or repeat any class and her school does not go on strike throughout her stay. Which company will employ a 96-year-old fresh graduate? “Ko si igba ti a da aso ti a o ri le fi wo” if misconstrued can screw up some people’s destiny fa!

A lady who is supposed to settle down early and face family keeps procrastinating and say “the handsome and rich ones are yet to be born”. What a good combination and desire. When she becomes fifty and eventually reach menopause and can’t give birth again can she still say that “Ko si igba ti a da aso ti a o ri le fi wo”? Making haste about life some times is useful. I have written about the mad side of Lagos life. Where everyone has to rush for the early morning bus to get to work and back home in the evening. If you live in Lagos and don’t hustle for the bus and you keep saying “Ko si igba ti a da aso ti a o ri le fi wo”, you will end up being always late to work. This is the time to act and not mismanage that real elders’ proverb.

A call for application for a particular opportunity whether job, scholarship, marriage, baby birth, conception, etc, opens and then you stand or sit somewhere and say “Ko si igba ti a da aso ti a o ri le fi wo”. If you send your application in after the closing date you may be disappointed as you do not stand a chance at all.

“Ko si igba ti a da aso ti a o ri le fi wo” ke? Okay, an individual who has never owned a vehicle until the age of eighty, how many years will the individual enjoy the ride? Young people, run away fast from such proverbs and note that if by age 25 you are still in school you are already running late. By age 25 you should be earning and settling down to start a good family. Some limit people and say you are too fast. You are too young. Listen up, I am not too young to do great exploits neither are you. General Yakubu Gowon was unmarried when he became the head of state of Nigeria. He married his wife, Victoria during the Biafran Civil war. Someone then will say again how can you marry during your countries civil war. Sit there with your great proverb that “Ko si igba ti a da aso ti a o ri le fi wo”. The time to do great is now.

A young Nigerian writer, public speaker and man of multidimensional grace was to travel abroad for the first time some years ago. At the visa interview he presented what he has done in the process of introducing himself. The white interviewer told him ‘you are too young to do these and that which you said you have achieved’. He sat up and gave her a catalogue of white people who had done more than him at much younger ages. She surrendered and gave him the visa. See, I am very serious as I write, don’t let anyone limit you. You are limitless. As you are in school or learning a vocation, stop chasing after boys or girls, men or women, face your life. Your life is preciously loaded.

Stop spending money meant for school fees (whether yours or that of others) on other things. This is the time to invest and invest. Pay back your sponsors with your success. Your successful achievement is one key pay back you can give them. Don’t get to campus and be wasting your parents’ resources on inconsequential things. The time to take that huge step is now. Meet me at the successful side of life and we shall celebrate and be celebrated with God’s help.

Leave your comments below and contact me for mentorship in all spheres of life. I will be expecting.

Christianity Etc › Escape For Your Life by AmeLonRo(op): 11:35pm On Mar 10, 2019
One of our early writers sent this to us this Sunday (today). Enjoy it.

I woke up in the morning after two weeks of concentrated hearing from ministers of God on divers issues of faith and ministry. After series of impartation and personal encounters. I heard in the morning “sa asala fun emi re”. This is Yoruba sentence meaning “escape for thy life”. I went on to read the story in the book of Genesis chapter 19 especially verses 15 to 22. God continued speaking to me and I kept asking and receiving inspiration by the Holy Ghost. Lot dwelt in Sodom and the angels came to destroy the place but are willing to let him go before they destroy the place. The destruction of the place seemed to be urgent and time bound. When God wants to do something it does not take him time. He could turn a tenant who could barely pay for his/her rent to a landlord in a moment. God is an urgent and fast God.

My heart desire for you is that God will show Himself in a speedy way in your circumstance in Jesus mighty name. Amen. A security man who lived in the gate house of a rich man. a poor man at least by that kind of work and in a developing country. He attended a Christian gathering and the word of God said he would become a landlord in 24 hours. He said Amen and left the meeting. It was on the 31st of December. In the morning of the new year he reached out to the master of the house to greet him “Happy new year sir”. The man asked him have I given you anything for the new year? He answered no. The man gave him the keys to one of the flats he owned in an estate with the papers. The security man went to the house, used the keys on the doors and they opened. He looked round, it was a brand new house. He went back to thank the rich boss and the man told him he would arrange for his furniture to be moved their immediately. This is because the rich boss changes his furniture yearly. God answered this man within 24 hours. Key in to this God of 24 hours and wonders will be your portion.

Back to Lot, I know students who have examinations and they do all they can to be at the venue in good time. That’s speed. No student will oversleep on the day of the examination. No student will want to miss the examination deliberately. People who have interviews to have some form of speed attached. If they land the job it could change their beggarly life to a prosperous life. Hence the iron their clothes ahead. Polish their shoes ahead. Barb their hair ahead. Wake early and hit the road in good time. They sometimes get there and hour or two before the set time. This is because they want to get something. Lot however, was not prepared. He was told, he was informed, he knew something was about to happen. He saw the signs and the wonders yet he was behaving funny. He was not ready to escape for his life. My friend, to do anything tangible in life you need to escape first. In some manufacturing companies, in some industrial estates, in some laboratories, the first thing is safety! Safety first! When some people are celebrating their birthdays their friend greet them on social media by writing “HAPPY WOM ESCAPE”. Escape is the first before anything else. You can’t be in bondage and think straight, think well. You must come out of bondage first. I decree emancipation for anyone in satanic bondage, human bondage and captivity in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

In Acts chapter 3. Peter and John went to the temple to pray at the 9th hour. A man crippled from birth sat at the gate called beautiful. He was a beggar. They bring him in the morning to beg and take him back later in the day. He must have been doing that since childhood. He was now a man in that passage. All he was used to was begging for alms, always begging, just begging. Daily, weekly, yearly, just begging. I pray begging will stop in your life in Jesus name. Amen. When he saw peter and John he wanted alms, money, food, etc., just something temporary. He was not desirous of being a giver. He was not desirous of rising out of the crippled state. Some people’s businesses are crippled and all they desire is money to feed, to live from hand to mouth. God will send your peter and John to you now in Jesus name. Amen. Peter told him I don’t have money but rise up and walk. The most pivotal thing the man needed was to walk but he was desirous of begging. My friend to escape for your life you need to identify that thing that is major in your life. Don’t chase after shadows. Identify the main thing for you to escape for your life. Lot lingered because he did not know that he needed safety fast. I see God opening your eyes to see what you need to see for you to escape in Jesus name. Amen.

To escape there are some friends you need to cut off from. You are aiming at higher ground academically, physically, financially, socially, spiritually and so on. An individual who is going nowhere cannot be your friend. Rise up and walk friend, escape friend. Make friends with people who will move you forward and not those who will take you back, draw you back or delay you. Destiny is more important than friendship. Who are your friends? They talk to you, write you, see you, you see them. They will influence you. They will decide the direction of your life. Watch the friends you keep. I see God sending destiny helpers to you. They will stand by you to take you to the place you ought to be. They will make sure you succeed in whatever you do.

I like Lot a lot. An encounter with God is personal, everyone has to get theirs. Lot escaped even though his wife looked back. He pressed on. He escaped. Decide in this race of life and destiny that no matter what others do you will escape. Don’t let others determine your success. Rise up and succeed. This is your season. This is your time. The race is personal. Others may not want to win. I want to win. I want to make it. I am born to fulfil destiny. I will make it. I cannot be destroyed. I cannot be hurt. I will not cry. No curse will affect me. I am blessed. Escape in your speech. Escape in your belief system. Some people say there is no job in the country. There are jobs o. So many jobs. Years ago I was seeking a job. A senior officer in customs who was my neighbor told me that there was “embargo on employment” then. I did not know the meaning of embargo then. I went to my dictionary and saw it. I did not believe it. I knew people are getting employed every day. People are resuming daily. I believed. I prayed. I made haste to apply to different places, got interview appointments and offers here and there. I secured jobs and changed jobs eventually. Some women will tell their husbands food have finished at home. Stop saying that. What you say is what you get. Say instead food is plentiful at home. Go to your kitchen and prophesy food into existence. Call rice, beans, yam, potatoes, turkey, chicken, beef, fish, oil, vegetables, amala, tuwo, fruits, juice to come forth. They will come. You desire a car? Say out where it’s going to be parked. It will be so for you. You will get what you say. Death and life are in the power of the tongue.

Lot was to leave Sodom. Perhaps you need to leave where you are now for your story to change for good. You have been there a long time and nothing good is coming out of that place. Is it not time to be fast about it? Don’t linger, don’t waste time, don’t consult, don’t think to take people along. Move, move out of a dead place to a living place. Move out of places without opportunities to places with bright and shinning opportunities. Rise and let God assist you. God may be drawing your attention to changing your job, to reaching forth and conquering, to doing exploits for Him. He may be telling you to change your job, to move to another organization. Don’t tarry. Make haste. You will laugh.

I see some people about to start a relationship leading to marriage. You see clearly some signals that point to domineering and disrespect in the wife to be and you assume it will be alright in the marriage. My friend cut off the relationship and escape for thy life. It is time to steer clear. You see the man to be your husband smoking and doing other nasty things and you think he will stop when you are married. You are getting set to marry an outside man. A man who may not stay at home most times and likely to spend money on enjoyment that are not enjoyment. See clearly now and escape for thy life. You and your spouse to be argue over small matters and refuse to reconcile by all means. You won’t agree and s/he won’t too. That’s a clear signal that God is giving you to escape for your life. You see your partner to be in secret dealings and you find out only for the partner to try to cover up. Rise up and wise up. Escape before the fire engulfs you. Don’t look back lest you become a pillar of salt.

Politics › Re: Latest Pix Of Man Who Drank "Gutter Water" To Celebrate PMB by AmeLonRo(m): 7:23am On Mar 07, 2019
This is a real fan if our President. He is in for wealth.
Celebrities › Ojekoyo In A Foreign Land (continued) by AmeLonRo(op): 9:12am On Mar 06, 2019
The US visitors made everything very easy and fast. They proceeded to one of the agricultural cities in the US. This was the University city that had fishing experts, scientists and researchers. It was during winter when the city and rivers were cold and sometimes freezing. Ojekoyo ate four hundred hamburgers and was still asking for more. At another time he ate two hundred and fifty large pizzas. This was his eating pattern in the US.

His hosts were eager for him to demonstrate his fish catching formula in their waters but for the winter cold. His farting noise or sound continued but the smell or odour has changed to perfume scent that filled four kilometres radius of wherever he was at the time of the flatulence. This was another pleasant surprise for him, his parents and the king of his town. People from far and wide were happy with him and enjoyed the perfume smell of his flatulence. People in America traced the scent to where he was and took pictures with the nice smelling man from another continent. Perfume producing companies sent their scent inhalation experts to inhale the scent of his fart in other to produce something that smells nice like it. The good smell became something that was spoken about on television and radio in the city. People travel to enjoy the sweet smell. His father and Chief Jayjay asked the white men why the sudden change in Ojekoyo’s farting smell. They were told it’s because he stopped eating fermented food when he reached the US. In his native town he takes a lot of fermented food items which makes his farting to smell very bad. His parents and Chief Jayjay were pleasantly surprised and wondered the kind of person he was.

During their wait for the winter to be over so they can do the fishing business in summer, Ojekoyo could not drink from the river. He however took large volumes of water bought from Walmart. He preferred this style of living to the way he lived in his town back home. He attended the elementary school in the city and the teachers and pupils loved him. He loved them too. He enjoyed his schooling and learnt fast due to the materials provided and the didactic teaching methods used. Ojekoyo, his parents and Chief Jayjay from Agbetedo were too elated to see the United States and its people. They were amazed at the way everyone minded his or her own business and was always forward looking, busy or playing some games. They appreciated the timing of the buses and trains and the politeness of the people. They also loved the way vehicles stopped at the red light on the road and move when the light is green. The way the people keep the laws of the land made the king to want to see more of the city so he can introduce modern changes in Agbetedo when he gets back.

The time everyone had been expecting finally came. Winter was ended and its now summer time in America. The city river is ready for Ojekoyo. Scientists are ready to see how Ojekoyo will attract the fishes. It was a time of exhilarating expectations. On the d- day, Ojekoyo ate a full sack of sweet potatoes with half sack of meat. The sweet potatoes were oven made by their host. The host was awake all night, making the potatoes and boiling the meat. After making the mountain of sweet potatoes and meat to become a plain, level ground Ojekoyo proceeded with the others to the river. As soon as he entered the river the fishes started jumping towards him. The white scientists where observing with keen interests. The cameraman was busy filming and recording the event while one invited photographer was at work taking shots too. Ojekoyo took his bath and drank about fifty litres of the river water. The reduced volume of water he drank can be alluded to the water he had taken before coming to the river. His lifestyle had been affected by his new environment. The moment a whole sack was filled Ojekoyo jumped out of the river. One of the scientists jumped in to see if he could attract the fishes too. The fishes moved away from sight as fast as they could. The scientists from the University jumped into the river one after the other in an attempt to attract the fishes like Ojekoyo did but they could not.

The entourage to the river went back to their abode. Ojekoyo, Chief Jayjay and his parents were elated and went to have some restful evening. The scientists however could not sleep. They went to the laboratory to watch the film recorded and see the photographs taken. The scientists brainstormed for seven days. After seven days, the scientists tried to eat the quantity of food that Ojekoyo ate but they could not go beyond twenty percent. Thereafter, the scientists proceeded to the river and tried to attract the fishes as Ojekoyo did previously. They were unable to attract the fishes. They arranged for Ojekoyo to repeat the feat again and he did. The scientists finally said they suspected that Ojekoyo had some fish attracting features in his body which they called “genes”, “plasmids” and “enzymes” at the meantime. The scientists further said that the fish attraction in Ojekoyo was similar to that in earthworms. So the fishes got attracted the way earthworms are used to bait fishes and then Ojekoyo simple picked the fishes. To confirm their deductions, the scientists took Ojekoyo’s blood and urine samples for experimentations in their laboratories. The results proved that the scent and secretion similar to that in earthworms was present in Ojekoyo. The results only indicated similarity but did not specify that it was exactly the same.

The scientists indicated that they have to do further work and findings on Ojekoyo in order to ascertain what exactly it was that attracted the fishes to him. They informed the parents that the study will take about seven years and Ojekoyo had to be with them in the US. The parents did not object to Ojekoyo staying behind in the US for six years but only gave conditions that must be fulfilled for Ojekoyo to stay in the US for the scientists to do their work. The condition was that they will be paid monthly stipend to support them in their town and that they will be allowed to come and visit their son as many times as they desired. The scientists did not object to the requests but added that they will provide the return ticket that the parents will need during their visits. Chief Jayjay was pleased as well as Ojekoyo and his parents. Ojekoyo’s parents and Chief Jayjay bade farewell to Ojekoyo and the white men. They arrived Agbetedo town with pleasant gifts from the US with joy and good tales to tell. Chief Jayjay, the king called an emergency meeting on his arrival and informed all in the town that they must not underestimate anyone. The king informed all his subjects that they all have something beneficial that they can contribute to the world no matter what others may say to them. He referred to Ojekoyo as a classical example. The king also spoke to them about the importance of courtesy, orderliness, cleanliness, education, hard work and industry which he saw in the US city he visited.

The town of Agbetedo was filled with joy as Ojekoyo has now given them access to the US. Ojekoyo continued his education in the US and advanced to assist the scientists with their research on his special attributes. He goes fishing twice a week with his friends and continues to eat big while also farting good perfume scents depending on the food he ate.

Education › The Chap Ojekoyo Goes To School by AmeLonRo(op): 1:45pm On Mar 04, 2019
Ojekoyo started school at the age of ten. Most of his class mates where aged seven on the average. He was the oldest in the class. On his first day in school, he just finished eating a bag of beans with some fishes from other towns. During the morning assembly as they were being addressed by the headmistress, Ojekoyo farted loudly and the noise made the headmistress to run thinking it was something harmful that landed. She however returned when she discovered it was someone that farted. When the headmistress returned, there was a kind of smell on the ground where all the school pupils were assembled. The smell started gradually like rotten egg smell and it increased gradually. The headmistress wanted to speak but had to cover her nose as the odour was much. The other teachers started running to their offices one after the other. The pupils too could not bear it again and ran as fast as their legs could carry them like Cheetah to their classes. By the time they got to the offices and classes the bad odour was waiting for them. The traders in the supermarket and other business owners around the school left their ware and ran home. The pupils left their bags and food and ran home. The teachers and school officers ran home too. The school headmistress informed the town head who called an emergency town meeting to know what it was that caused the bad odour. It was at this meeting that it was made popular by those who knew that it was Ojekoyo that farted. The school and town was surprised at this kind of farting that could smell four kilometres radius from the point of emancipation.

The town head was intimated about other characteristics possessed by Ojekoyo. His parents long wait, his huge eating style, his plentiful drinking appetite, his copious fish catching prowess and many more. At this point the town head, chief Jayjay invited some white men from United states of America (USA) who had heard about the fishing prowess of the town and had come to see how they can adopt and amplify the methodology used. The town head dispersed the towns men and women with the children who had gathered for the meeting. He retained Ojekoyo alone. The towns people thought he would be imprisoned, some rumoured he would be banished, some said it was time for him to be killed, some others were silent.

Chief Jayjay happily introduced Ojekoyo to the white visitors from USA. He told Ojekoyo that they wanted to know and adopt his fish attracting techniques. The visitors were happy to meet with him too. Without wasting time, they requested that they go to the river but Ojekoyo objected because according to him he had not eaten that morning and hence was not thirsty for water and had no business yet with the river and fishes. Chief Jayjay asked that they boil a bag of yam for him. Ojekoyo sat in the king’s palace and devoured the yam with palm oil. The white men counted three hundred pieces of cut yam that Ojekoyo swallowed. This amazed them and they immediately offered to take him with them to America as it was a wonder that a single man will consume three hundred large chunks of boiled yam at a sitting. When Ojekoyo got to the river with his parents, Chief Jayjay and the US visitors, he jumped into the river, began to swim, drank the river water and the fishes started coming close to him and he started picking them one after the other into his normal sack. He drank and drank from the river. As long as he was drinking, the fishes were coming close to him and he kept picking them into his sack. This was a pleasant and wonderful surprise for the white men from America. They concluded again that Ojekoyo must replicate this exploits in America. Chief Jayjay said he will go with him to America. Ojekoyo also requested that his parents must follow him to America.

His parents were reluctant on the trip as their fishing and cropping business will be affected. The white men offered to settle whatever the amount they think they would have lost during the trip. Chief Jayjay was overjoyed and reflected that a person with some sort of life problems may also have some life solutions like Ojekoyo. The headmistress of his school was jealous as she is yet to leave the state where she did her University education and here was someone just starting school and now travelling abroad. The teachers and pupils too were now feeling sorry that they should have adapted to his farting smell. They reflected that he being in their school would have brought some good things to them. Within two weeks, the travelling documents of Ojekoyo, Chief Jayjay and his parents were ready.

Education › The Boy Called “ojekoyo”. by AmeLonRo(op): 1:36pm On Mar 04, 2019
In the small town of Agbetedo in Kogi, Nigeria lived a man named Ojekoyo. Ojekoyo was the only son of his parents. His mother gave birth to him when she was fifty while his father was sixty. His parents were married for twenty-five years before they were able to conceive and produce him. His parents have consulted various spiritualists and non-spiritualists for help regarding conception for twenty years. That was two years into their marriage and three years before his birth. Ojekoyo was born at a time his parents have lost all hope. His mother, Iyemi and his father, Opemi had eaten all sorts of herbs and concoctions in a bid to conceive. The parents have worn different types of recommended clothings to appease the “gods” to no avail. They have also done different kinds of hair styles including absolute shaving and rubbing of chalk on the head to no avail. Hence, when Ojekoyo was conceived and born at a time they have stopped all that, it came as a great surprise and was bigger than a miracle to them. It was also difficult for them to refer to any of the “gods” they had patronized as the giver of the child. This is because they had stopped trusting in any of the “gods” for their problem of lack of conception.

Ojekoyo had an insatiable appetite for food. He started taking corn pap after two days of his birth as opposed to exclusive breastfeeding the health professionals advised the parents. His mother’s breast milk could not satisfy him. He drank her breast milk dry within the first two days of his birth. The corn pap he started taking was not the cup quantity but it was the twenty litres bucket quantity per day. The parents, relations and neighbours thought he would outgrow his gourmandize nature but it continued. His gourmandize nature became more apparent when after 6 months pap and liquid food could not satisfy Ojekoyo again. His corn pap had been blended with beans, crayfish, dried eggs, fish and meat to enable him grow well. Ojekoyo started eating one bag of beans daily by month seven of his birth. At other days the bag of beans was alternated with a bag of rice, a bag of maize, a bag of wheat, a bag of yam, a bag of potato, a bag of cocoyam and a bag of bread. A bag of beans is what a family of five would eat for four months or less. Same for other bags of food items. Ojekoyo however, consumed these large amounts in a day. His feeding pattern was telling on the economy of his parents. The saving grace was that his father had the largest farm in Agbetedo town. This made it easier for him to meet his son’s appetite needs.

Aside from food itself, Ojekoyo drinks water like a fish. He does not drink water before or during his meals. Once he is done eating he would shout “momu”, “momu”, “momu”, meaning “I want water”, “I want water”, “I want water”. He would run to the village river and drink about one hundred and fifty liters of water. During the drinking process he swims in the river and on all occasions he takes a sack full of fishes home. The village fishermen and women stand in awe of him as they do not understand why the fishes move towards him and run from them. The village fishermen and women normally go home with less than half a bag of fishes on their lucky days. Ojekoyo’s fish affinity and bags of fish gradually turned his mother to a fish merchant. The startling aspect is that Ojekoyo and his parents do not eat from the fish he catches but sells them. People come from neighbouring villages to buy fishes from Ojekoyo’s mother. Aside from the “Agbetedo” the town is known for, it’s also called “ilu iya eleja pupo” meaning “the town of the woman with plenty fishes”. As far as Opemi was concerned, the overeating of his son was not to be compared with the amount of money and fame the family makes from the sale of fishes brought home by Ojekoyo.

Politics › The Man Who Saw Tomorrow: Universal Scope by AmeLonRo(op): 9:58pm On Feb 24, 2019
It was Nostradamus that was popularly referred to as “The Man Who Saw Tomorrow”. This title to Nostradamus is not mere but real as he predicts a lot of future events in his time. From time immemorial people have predicted future events some with clarity and some with shadows of look alike while others are known not to come to reality ever. Nostradamus’ full name is Michel de Nostradame. He was born on December 14, 1503. He is an indigene of France. He was said to have predicted the Great Fire of London and the awful destruction of the space shuttle Challenger. Most of Nostradamus predictions were negative hence, he was called the “prophet of doom”.

The political, economic and educational landscape of the world are filled with people who make projections that are known to come to reality. For instance, before Trump came to power he promised or maybe predicted that the illegal migrants in America will be shown the way out. How he has taken that out is left for all to decide. He promised to build a wall on the US border with Mexico using funds from Mexico. How far he has gone with that is left for him to decide. Perhaps, it’s a prediction that another president of the United states will carry out or is it Mexican government itself that will do it? That is the extent predictions go. How it will be done is left out. The creator designs the fulfilment if he actually caused it to be prophesied.

The Holy Bible hinted in Joel that in the last days God will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh. All flesh! Old and young, bond and free. Can that be the reason why we have very old and young heads of governments all over the world? Can that prophecy explain why we have female heads of government too? Can that explain how both the influential and non-influential are getting to rule and lead nations? People that are thought valueless are getting valuable. People who never went to any formal school are getting to lead nations. You can mention examples. People who have minimal education too are leading nations together with a bunch and huge chunk of educated fellows. Perhaps. That’s how prophecy works.

Now talking the about the economy, some many years back China was not a force to reckon with. They were popular for producing inferior products. They maximized their strength in terms of population and kept on getting better in terms of production of goods. Today China is a super exporter of whatever goods any nation in the world needs. While so called advanced countries were taking long breaks, China was working at it. They made themselves good copy cats of quality products. It was only a matter of time, they are leaders today. Similar goes for India and Japan. The Igbo guys in Nigeria too are on that trail and if they do not give up, they will become so powerful that no nation will be able to plan their economy without taking them into consideration. Trumps’ trade relations with China and other nations had affected so many things in recent times. His comments determine the direction of foreign exchange. Have some of these events been predicted previously? You can tell.

Prophecy has it too that knowledge shall increase like no man’s business in the last days. Look at the rate people are going to school today. A former minister of education in Nigeria once said the rush for education in the Southern part of the country was a “mad rush”. People prefer not to eat than not to have an education. Ask the young one’s tough questions and you will be amazed at the answers you will get. At age 17 or less some students are graduating from the Universities with first class in their chosen areas of studies. We have egghead students. They grab whatever from the sciences, to engineering, mathematics, languages, arts and commerce. They so grab it as if they were present when the subject matter was first introduced to the world.

Now to Nigerian politics. The presidential and senatorial elections held on the 23rd day of February, 2019. It was a time for decision making. It was time for all political gladiators to test their popularity. Who predicted what? Which came to pass? The incumbent went around the country during the campaign and mentioned that he was sure of victory at the polls. It was predicted that the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will be arrested if he went to the United States of America. He went weeks before the election and nothing happened. That’s how far some predictions can go – worthless. In some states in Nigeria, predictions and political permutations and alignments point to the fact that some will be an some will not be. In Kwara State for instance there is a huge power play with the “O to ge” crowd slugging it out with the “O tun ya” crowd. February 23 was a date with history. A date with the electorates. A date for decision. Some prophecies were fulfilled abi? So, all players predicted and got their predictions come true in some cases. So, they qualify as modern-day Nostradamuses or prophets? You have to decide that as you decided the outcome of February, 23, 2019 election. Drop your comments below. See you later.
