Anambra International Airport runway, stone base has been completed according to the staff of Craneburg at the site. According to the international best practices stone base is done before the final asphalt. The runway is 3.6km in length and can accommodate jumbo jets and wide body aircrafts. The length is the same as MMIA Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport Abuja. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2756433911263359&id=100006903306245

IDENNAA:The design of the airport has two runways but I think they are working on one of the runways at the moment. |
Anambra International Airport runway, stone base has been completed according to this staff of Craneburg at the site. He is my source at the site. Hopefully he will send more pictures to me later. He complained that they are not allowed to snap the progress of work due to the prying eyes of some pretenders outside the state. The runway is 3.6km in length and can accommodate jumbo jets and wide body aircrafts. The length is the same as MMIA Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport Abuja.

Anambra State Hospitality Industry familiarization Tour Continues: Day 4 Safety of lives and properties remain the cardinal point of the present administration. For this reason, the Honourable Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artwork, Culture and Tourism Dr. Christian Madubuko led a team of the ministry to monitor compliance of COVID-19 protocols in hotels operating in the state. The exercise aims to ensure that all government directives on the prevention of the virus are adhered to strictly. Dr. Madubuko said, " the visitation gives us an opportunity to interact with the hotel owners, the key areas my ministry will prioritize to ensure ease of doing business in the hospitality industry. There's need to harmonize taxes, this will help them to have a one off payment that will cover all taxation in the year. We are also working seriously on single digit soft loan to help them boost their businesses, because the pandemic really affected them . They are one of the key employers of labour, so government is doing everything possible for them to remain in business" The monitoring team also sensitized them on the general cleanliness of their environment and the use of fire extinguisher should there be any emergency.

BREAKING NEWS... NCDC activates Anambra State's Covid-19 Test Centre Ikenna Aniagboso Gov Willie Obiano has announced the activation of the Covid-19 test centre situated in the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC. The long awaited approval was received on Saturday, July 4, 2020, after the state government received test kits and other relevant materials from the NCDC. The state was however cleared to commence testing Monday, July 6, 2020. According to the state's Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala, the mega PCR laboratory is equipped with five Abbot m2000 platforms - a sophisticated machine that has the ability to run 94 tests per cycle. "When fully optimized, one can get five cycles done in 24hrs", the Commissioner declared. This will translate to 470 tests by a machine per day. If one were to dedicate the five machines to Covid-19 testing, one will hit 2,350 tests per day. This is the first time it will be used in the entire country for Covid-19 test", he said. "The Abbot platform uses only kits manufactured by Abbot. The product was in high demand all over the world because of its efficacy and naturally, it became scarce. Logistics was also a global problem occassioned by the pandemic", explained Dr Okpala. Continuing, he said that the activation of the testing centre was delayed becuase of the special kits used by the machine; "but we embarked on training of personnel for testing and sample collection, believing that this day would come. "So far, the lab personnel have shown a lot of professionalism and we are proud of the progress we have made since we launched this war against Covid-19. We will no longer need to take samples to Irua and wait for days for confirmation. "We are grateful to Gov Obiano for supporting us every inch of the way. His commitment to the fight against Covid-19 is commendable. We are also grateful to NCDC, FHI360, Global Fund, WHO and all those who worked assiduously to make this a reality". The activation of the COOUTH test centre by the NCDC will definitely douse concerns over testing in Anambra state. It will also aid the fight against Covid-19 as confirmation of test results will take lesser time as more people get tested locally.

Building a brand from a grain of an idea, case of Zitel Brand By Don Ebubeogu (MD, Tiger Foods Onitsha) I was a participant at the 2016 Anambra Trade Fair organized by the Association of Anambra Chambers of Commerce, at Awka. That was when I met the owner of Zitel Products. They requested that we allow them to use a portion of our company’s stand to exhibit their products, free of cost. Ordinarily, I shouldn’t have entertained that request because it is usually against the rules guiding participation in most trade fairs. You cannot co-habit or share your stand without obtaining paid permit from the organizers. The moment I saw the products they want to exhibit, and the fact the couple produced the products themselves got me to discard the rules and offer them accommodation within our stand. A decision I’m proud of today. In 2017, I was appointed to Chair the Anambra Trade Fair Planning Committee, I came across Zitel products again. This time they want to have a stand of their own within the area reserved for start-up enterprises. I was impressed by their tenacity and personal conviction that they have a product the market will appreciate. I also noticed a great leap in their packaging and improvement on the presentation of their products. In one of the meetings the Council of Onitsha Chamber of Commerce had with the management of Onitsha Shoprite, the GM told us how Zitel Company started with Shoprite by staying at the corridor leading to the main hall of Shoprite. They came back one year later to demand for a shop that pays more than a Naira annually. Since then they have been growing from strength to strength. During the Christmas holiday in 2019, I went to their shop to have a feel of the much talked about Greek Yoghurt. I saw a business that needs to be celebrated. They have not only outgrown the space they occupy at Shoprite, but they have gotten clientele that visit them from different parts of the state to have a taste of so many ingenious products they offer. Today, while thinking of Zitel and other start-ups in this city, I remember the words of Napoleon Hill, “whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve”. You don't need people’s validation to know your self-worth. Zitel has demonstrated this, and has much more to offer. What is your impediment? What is your excuse? You don't need to come from a wealthy family to create wealth for yourself. (Micheal Ade-Ojo (Elizade Group) proved that. You don't need to have a formal education to start a successful business. Cosmas Maduka (Coscharis) is a case study. All you need is the will to start, a desire for greatness, and believing in yourself. Building a brand is definitely a process that can lead to a steady increase in sales, word-of-mouth referrals, and advocacy for your products or services. It’s no use promoting your business to people who aren’t going to be remotely interested in it. So, get to know who your potential buyers are, and what’s important to them, just like Zitel is doing. “Marketing isn’t a department, it’s the story of how you create a difference for your customers,” says Bernadette Jiwa (brand strategist and blogger at The Story of Telling). This is a shout-out to Zitel Brand of products, Onitsha Mall
