ANAMBRA STATE POLICE COMMAND DIARY ON THE SPOT ASSESSMENT VISIT BY THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE ANAMBRA STATE POLICE COMMAND CP JOHN BASSEY ABANG fdc Recall that on the 11/7/2019 the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command CP John B Abang fdc during his maiden Press conference promised to tackle the menace of one chance robbery and other security challenges in the State. 2. It was in view of the above determination that the CP today 13/7/2019 paid an assessment visit to Nkpor roundabout in Idemili North LGA and MCC junction, Upper Iweka, Owerri road/Aba Park all in Onitsha Anambra State. 3. Purpose of the visit is for local knowledge and obtain a first hand information about the pattern of crimes being perpetrated in those areas with a view to curtailing them through effective deployment and visibility patrols.The visit is still ongoing. Anambra Spelling Bee Championship Begins In Awka A two-day Anambra State Spelling BEE Championship organized by Integral Development Konsult in conjunction with the Ministry of Basic Education, has commenced in Awka. The competition is for Private and Public Schools across the State. In declaring the event open the Commissioner for Basic Education Professor Kate Omenugha, said it is important to the State government, as it will essentially contribute to the development of Students self-esteem in their academic achievements. Professor Omenugha, charged the participants drawn from private and public Schools in the State, to utilize the opportunity in building a solid foundation for their future learning abilities. In a welcome address the facilitator of the competition Mrs Chinwe Nweke, said the goal is to provide a conducive environment for healthy competition that will encourage young people to expand their vocabulary, communication skills and self confidence. She however said participants who are classified into three categories according to their age, will at the end of the competition receive prizes and awards. Later while rolling out the rules and regulations guiding the competition, the Moderator Miss Chumah Udeh, charged the participants to adhere strictly to the laid down rules. The opening ceremony was attended by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Basic Education, Mr Nwabueze Nwankwo, a representative of Chairman Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Mrs Nkiruka Nkechukwu, Mrs Anthonia Nwaneri, representative of chairman Post Primary Schools Service Commission, teachers of the participating schools among others 3 Likes

Police Service Commission To Establish Police College In Anambra Police Service Commission To Establish Police College In Anambra Governor Willie Obiano has called on other States to complement the efforts of Anambra State government in security, to ensure all round protection of lives and property across the Country. He made the call when the Commissioner Representing South-East and the Organized Private Sector at the Police Service Commission, Dr. Nkemka Jombo-Ofo paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Awka. Governor Obiano represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke who intimated the Commissioner with series of achievements by the state government in security, made a strong case for the replication of such feat in other parts of the country. The Governor emphasized the need for community policing which he said will strengthen the security network of the country if achieved. Earlier, Dr. Jombo-Ofo commended the state government for its achievements in security and called on others to emulate such gesture. He called on Ndi Anambra to get involved in Police recruitment exercise.The Commissioner also during the visit acquainted the Governor on the plan of the Police Service Commission to establish Police College in the state where police officers will be trained on various skills. In a remark, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu commended the Commissioner for the visit, pleading with the Commission to always inform the Anambra State government on time as it concerns police recruitment to ensure full participation of her citizens 2 Likes |

Breaking news... Henceforth, only market unions are charged with the responsibility of collecting revenues for the state in their respective markets, no more contractors or agents! This was part of the message delivered to the traders by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu on behalf of Governor Willie Obiano at a meeting held at the SSG's Conference Hall, Awka. Prof. Chukwulobelu and other members of the exco committee on IGR called for the meeting to fine-tune the revenue collection and remittance method for the markets. Furthermore, the meeting agreed that authority papers shall be written and addressed to the Chairman and Secretary of each market union and given to them within the week. This method was adopted in view of the "flying" fake authority papers and other impersonators of revenue agents in the state who master the art of extorting money from innocent citizens. The meeting had in attendance the Commissioner for Commerce, Dr. Christian Madubuko, Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Uchenna Okafor Wiper, Dr. David Nzekwu (Chairman/CEO, Anmbra Internal Revenue Service), Engr. Okey Anyanyo (SSA on IGR) and others. Ndi Anambra, by the decisions reached from the meeting, it is safe to conclude that orderliness has returned in the revenue collection in our markets. 4 Likes

OBIANO SWEARS IN THREE NEW PRINCIPAL OFFICERS BY EJIKE ABANA Dr Vincent Okpala has been sworn in as the new Commissioner for Health. Commissioner Okpala was sworn in during the State Executive Council Meeting, supervised by the Anambra State Governor at the Government House, Awka. Also at Exco, Engineer Douglas Okafor was sworn in as the new Suprintendent General and Managing Director of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigage. Retired Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi was also sworn in as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Creative Security. Governor Obiano who announced that the Outgone Commissioner for Health, Dr Joe Akabuike is now the Chairman of Anambra State Health Technology Institute at Obosi, charged the new appointees to do their best by bringing their rich experience to impact on their new postings.

Obiano Inaugurates 15MVA/7.5 Injection Station in Awka By Kingsley Ezekwelu The Governor of Anambra state Chief Willie Obiano has inaugurated the newly constructed ABS 15MVA and 7.5 MVA injection substation at Awka done by his administration. The governor also inaugurated another upgraded 15 MVA and 7.5 MVA injection substation at Agu-Awka. The project has two feeders designed to ensure improved power supply to residents of the State Capital Territory and its environs. Inaugurating the project, Governor Willie Obiano said his government embarked on the project, having identified the importance of electricity to the socio-economic development of the State and the growth of businesses and industries. "There are a lot of things our people can achieve if there's constant power supply especially in the areas of industrialization and ICT. This was the reason my government had invested and is investing in improving power supply in the State," he maintained. 4 Likes

Governor Obiano Inaugurates Electricity Injection Substation in Awka. By Ejike Abana Governor Willie Obiano has inaugurated the Electricity Injection Substation in Aroma, ABS, Awka. The ABS Substation done in partnership with Anambra State government which donated the land has 7.5 MVA capacity, and is expected to provide reliable and quality power supply to 16 Communities. These communities will start enjoying 16 hours of power, daily. The Governor also used the occasion to commission the upgraded 15 MVA Injection Substation at Agu-Awka. Members of the State Executive Council, members of the State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Right Honourable Uchenna Okafor, Traditional Rulers, and Religious Leaders, Heads of parastatals and government agencies, among others, attended the event. 6 Likes
