The National Automotive Designing and Development Council is to commence the construction of an automotive Spareparts Manufacturing plant in the State soon. The Director General of the Council, Mr Jelali Aliyu disclosed this when he led a delegation from the council on a courtesy call on Governor Willie Obiano at the governor's Lodge, Amawbia. The proposed project situates on an 80-hectare parcel of land owned by 3 communities in Nnewi South and Aguata Council areas including Unubi, Akwaihedi and Uga. Last year, Governor Obiano had at the project site handed over the Certificate of Occupancy and other documents for the land to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Okey Enelama with a caveat that the Federal Government must develop the land within 18 months, failure of which the land will automatically revert to the State. In his remarks, Mr Jelali who noted that the project will be executed by the Federal Government, the State Government and the private sector, said the proposed facility which will incorporate the most advanced technology in its production, is expected to produce local automobile components and will be at par with the best of its kind across the world. He explained that Anambra was selected to leverage on the industrial and business potentials of the Nnewi area to set the stage for the nation's industrial transformation, saying that the project will create a lot of job and wealth opportunities for the people especially through the ancilliary industries that will it will yield. Commending Governor Obiano for his vision in availing the land for the project, Mr Jelali assured that the project will be completed within 18 months. Responding, Governor Obiano who frowned at the inability of the Federal government to commence work on the site since he handed over the land, however expressed delight that finally something concrete is coming up from the agreement. He noted that due to the state's small landsize worsened by its numerous erosion challenges, his government is very meticulous in giving out lands and has equally developed the Landbank initiative through which it had ensured judicious allocation of the state lands to investors. This initiative he noted, has helped restore the people's confidence in government's ability to manage their lands in a manner that will benefit them maximally hence, the high level of support and cooperation investors get from their host communities. Governor Obiano urged the council to immediately hit the ground running to realise the project on time, adding that the State will consider giving them more lands when it sees substantial work on ground. The National Automotive Designing and Development Council is a Federal government agency charged with the mandate of developing the country's automotive industry. http://www.absradiotv.com/8602-automotive-spare-parts-manufacturing-plant-to-be-sited-in-anambra-soon

Governor Willie Obiano has indeed begun an agricultural revolution in Anambra state. Beyond enabling farmers with farm implements and resources, Obiano government has also attracted Agro investors such as Coched Farms (part of the Coscharis Group), Lynden Farms, Joseph Agro and many others. These pictures shows the multimillion dollar hatchery of Lynden farms at Igbariam, located few minutes drive from the state university. Surely, Anambra is on its way to achieving its target of food sufficiency Source: absradiotv.com

Anambra as a model state plays politics without bitterness. |
Obiano Urges Politicians To Eschew Rancour As APC Delegation Pays Condolence Governor Willie Obiano has urged governorship aspirants in the state across various political parties to imbibe the spirit of brotherliness and play the game according to the rules to ensure that Anambra remains peaceful after the election. The Governor was speaking when he received a delegation from the All Progressives Congress, APC who paid him a condolence visit in his country home, Aguleri in Anambra East Council Area. The delegation was led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige. Governor Obiano who noted that it is imperative that politicians learn to place the interest of the state and its people above every other considerations, urged them to eschew rancor and bickering in their campaigns and ensure that they are objective in their criticisms. According to him, this is because after the election, the State must continue to forge ahead. He reiterated his resolve to leave Anambra after the completion of his eight-year tenure, better than he met it, adding that the state under his watch, has witnessed significant transformation across the various sectors while job and wealth opportunities have been created for the people in unquantifiable rations. While thanking the APC delegation for coming to commiserate with him over the death of his mother, Governor Obiano prayed God to repay them for whatever they put in supporting the success of the event. Earlier, Dr Ngige who led the delegation, explained that the visit was to show the Governor that they share in his grief, urging the him and his siblings to sustain the virtues of their mother. On his part, the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the Upper House, Senator Andy Uba prayed God to grant the soul of late Mrs Christiana eternal repose, acknowledging that having lived up to the ripe age of 90, she has achieved so much especially as it has to do with charity and benevolence. Others who joined the APC delegation were APC aspirants including Johnbosco Onunkwo, Mr Barth Nwibe, among other State officials of the party. http://www.absradiotv.com/state/8244-obiano-urges-politicians-to-eschew-rancour-as-apc-delegation-pays-condolence-visit
