One of my mates lost her husband last Dec. She has only one boy. She wept for long hours. Do you know that the son walk up to her and ask that she stop crying that as daddy is gone he's now her husband. He police her around to make sure she doesn't weep again. Son is about 9 or 10. I Remember when an aunt wanted to remarry after husband disappeared for years. My cousin bro who was barely 7 then will cry and cry begging his mummy not to remarry that he's now her husband. He will do anything to make mum happy. House work,sing and dance for mum,help in the shop etc. And laslas aunt no remarry. So these things happens. Mostly to people who are widowed early. The problem is the mother not knowing when to detach and allow son route his life.

There's always two sides to marriage without parental consent. Main issue is what is/are the reasons given by the parents? Are they valid? Does the person you intend to marry worth it?

There are two ISPON organizations in Nigeria currently. But only one deals with HSE Training /Certification and serves as the HSE Professional Body.

The two available organisations using ISPON in Nigeria are:

1. Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (formerly Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals,NISP)

2.Institute of Software Practioners of Nigeria (this has NOTHING TO DO WITH HSE TRAINING or the HSE Profession. At least not yet.)

There was a long standing battle between the two on the internet domain name/website that led to the crash of the NISP/ISPONs own website. Becuse the software guys are internet savvy, they were accused as intentionally jeopardising the website of the NISP/ISPON. It was a problem for a long time. People. couldn't reach the NISP/ISPON. Eventually this problem was solved.

With respect to the cost, please verify from the numbers on the NISP/ISPON website. Also, where possible pay a visit to their location and ask them directly. Usually the money is paid into a bank account and teller/evidence of payment used to process prospective trainees for the training proper. A lot of changes may have taken place as the world advances. Make enquiries and proper confirmations.

I think there a power play going on in ISPON. Both isponnigeria.org and ispon.gov.ng are laying claim on safety not even software as you said.

On ispon.gov.ng, i m surprised that Rivers State branch is not listed. If you are doing HSE and not in Rivers then where are you?

What's do you say about Masters in Engineering Management,MSC in Environmental Toxicology or an M.SC in Process Safety? I have experience working in Maintenance Projects in Nigeria O&G sector. I worked as field HSE personnel before being moved to work full time in the Office as a Project Management Sec. I was considering doing PMP but i don't know if that will enhance my career. The difference, I think is in the materials they're made with/from. They're of different grades and quality and these determine the prices of each, just like Lace materials. Of course you know plain lace and stoned lace are different grades so will have different prices.

As you know people are different and have different financial abilities, right? So I'll say, all are the toasts of customers depending on what they want and can conveniently afford.

The hospital will not fold. They did nothing wrong because it's a thing of choice to start treatment without payment, not a must.

Nigerians and their mentality of putting unnecessary blames on people for their misfortunes is becoming disgusting.

A hospital is not a charity organisation. It's where you pay to get treatment.

The hospital will no fold because we are in an insane country because if it was a sane country,they will cease to exist. The last time I checked it's not a thing of choice in all the other countries Nigerians are crossing the desert to run to. Will you have this same position if he was your brother, your favourite footballer, a popular politician or a celebrity. Nobody asked the hospital to treat him for free. That's why a good Samaritan who saw how critical the condition is paid 30k to the hospital,5k more than what they requested but they waited to confirm alert. Life cannot be replaced. By the time the alert is confirmed, the money is useless.

I'm not surprised to see the insensitive comments here. Because it's not you or your bro,it's does not concern you. The only value we know is money. No value for life yet we profess God here and there. According to some he's older than their grandfather. For the hospital business folks; I hope you all carry minimum 100k in your purse while moving around so that when a criminal randomly pick you and stab you, you will quickly pay the doctor as you rush in. Hopefully the criminals didn't collect the purse. Or hopefully you bleed for 12hrs no shaking even when the dagger has struck a major organ for you to make a transfer and confirm alert or visit ATM or contact your relatives to pay the hospital.
It's called emergency because time is counted in seconds. Why would a random guy who does not know the victim make a transfer of 30k and hospital who is trained on emergency refuse first aid till they see alert. Humanity is lost in Nigeria.
