CU trade fair is an exhibition organised to showcase the goods and services of student-entrepreneurs. It helps to promote the entrepreneurship spirit of the students. The fact that close to 70% of covenant university students are entrepreneurs makes it fun and very competitive. Well, in this trade fair most students sell food.. because that's the quickest way to get your capital + profit back (people must eat na) while some other students work as marketers for their friends, who in-turn get paid for the service.
we all know things are supposed to be cheap in every trade fair, but it's not the case here angry this one is trade exploitation sad sad There is nothing fair about this trade mbok! But then, it's all fun trust me cheesy wink

PoliticsLet's Stop The Negativity! by amokeme(op): 12:16pm On Mar 04, 2016
Ok, I read a post on here where this pastor, Pst. Paul Adefarasin was directing traffic on the island. According to the poster, there was commotion that prevented cars from moving due to impatience among drivers. The pastor decided to volunteer to control the traffic and in no time the traffic eased up. A happy witness recognised the pastor, took his picture and sent it with a story to a blog. Now, this action normally should be commendable, but no it wasn't. With a lot of people calling it publicity stunt and all manner of negatives, I couldn't help but think, “why are we like this?” Nigeria is such a funny place with funny people; a place where citizens see a celebrity/politician/pastor doing something good for the public or for humanity and call it a "publicity stunt" just because a picture of the act was uploaded; a place where the same set of people calling your act of kindness a publicity stunt will still be the same people asking "what has (s)he done to give back to the society?”; a place where you talk about your projects for the less privileged and these same people say, ‘it's a lie’, and if it's true they need pictures as proof. When pictures are provided as proofs, they call it a publicity stunt... Really! Then if you are not a "celebrity" and you decide to help the less privileged, orphans and widows, they call it a "show off", really! Why are we like this? Can't we be positive about things? Does it have to be negatives all the time? Hell no! I call this kind of attitude “hypocritical”! Why couldn't the majority see the good side of the "publicity stunt"?— a man who decided not to be like everybody else blowing their car horns, but came down from his comfort zone to tackle the problem, and in the end everybody plying that route benefited from that "publicity stunt". The story of the bread seller comes to mind. With a lot of people saying TY Bello did it for publicity stunt, a "publicity stunt " that changes people's lives for the better is more than welcome! Yes, let everybody condemning also do a "publicity stunt" to positively change the lives of people around them and see if Nigeria won't get better. What bothers me is that 80% of people with this kind of attitude are the youths. And we claim to be the "leaders of tomorrow" with this kind of attitude? Lol. Let's continue, and I can assure you, that tomorrow which is meant to be now will never come. Biko, let’s stop hating and begin our own "publicity stunts" that will change the lives of the people around us.

My dear, as a woman you must submit to your husband, in all things. I tell you from experience. You see even if you had a twin brother, by virtue of him being male, he will grow to be more sensible than you are. It does not matter whether he has made grievous mistakes in the past or he has indulged in rash decisions. once he gets married and he assumes that title "Head of the House" or "Husband", he automatically gets magically imbued common sense.
Now you must understand that your husband is the God you see, throw away all talk of partnership, is there any partnership between God and Man. NO!! God is forever above man, as your husband is forever above you. You must grovel at his feet, contort yourself to the point of elasticity and numb your emotions, because the only feelings that should be your primary concern in that union should be his. You must do everything for him short of worshipping him. You are lucky to be married. Some women are still single and anytime they pass a bustop or junction, people spit at them and throw rotten tomatoes at them. Do you want to be one of those bitter single women?

Listen, any thing that is wrong with any relationship is the woman's fault. She needs to check herself to make sure she does not lose him like a toy to some other woman. Is he cheating on you? Then you must either be dressing like an old woman or not giving him enough blowjobb. Is he beating you? Then you must either be a nag or a stupid housewife who brings no monetary value to the union except maybe do all the housework and take care of both your children. Check yourself. Men are too rational unlike emotional and confused women. Check yourself Nigerian Woman.

Finally. concerning this topic, here are some definitions of what submissive means.

adjective
-Being subjected to an action without producing a reaction.Taking no action.
He remained passive during the protest.(grammar)
-Being in the passive voice.(psychology) -Being inactive andsubmissive in a relationship, especially in a sexual one.
(finance) Not participating in management.
(aviation) Without motive power.

So this is not a case of him getting your opinion, he doesn't bloody need your input. Did David need his previous wife opinion before marrying a new wife? NO! If he wants to bring in the whole village into his house, then he bloody well can. He is the head of the family. Its his house, he paid a lot of money on you, you're his property. You will host his guest, cook and clean after them. If you cannot do that, then he gets another girl to do it simple. /
wow! Wow! Wow! shocked shocked shocked shocked you got to be kidding me! what did I just read?? Oh my goodness, ma( that is if you are a woman which I strongly doubt), you must have been through alot cry cry. May God liberate you in Jesus name!

Kondomatic:
I am not talking about what a man may decide to spend on his wife. It gives us joy to spend on our women when we have.

My problem is the money we pay to marry a wife. Some states in Nigeria will give a list of items that is worth almost a million naira when you want to marry their daughter, now tell me.

How can you claim equal with someone who paid all that to have you? It is impossible

Like I said earlier, it gives us joy to spend on our women.

Being able to take care of your wife and kids is an achievement on it is own. I personally don't understand why a woman would reject financial help or gifts from her husband if there's no problem between them.

That one pass me.
power you mean? smiley

KingEbukasBlog:
But wait ... what do you mean by " equal rights with her husband " ?
didn't you read the comment I quoted? He said a woman has no say in the Matter. "Because she was bought with his money" the house she lives in is paid or bought with his money so she has no right to make any contribution or suggestions whatsoever in the HIS home. And I actually agree with him. I mean, we all know woman can never be equal to men na. Well I know women can never be equally to men. And for the women who wants to be equal to a man, they shouldn't allow a man they intend getting married to spend 1 naira on them and when they get married, all expenses should be split equally. That way she have every right as the man in the house. If you read the comment I quoted very well, then you will understand my post
FamilyRe: Is It Polite For Husband To Seek Wife's Approval On This? by amokeme(f): 4:41pm On Mar 03, 2016
Kondomatic:
I hate what I am about to type but I kinda agree with the person you quoted and technically speaking, wives in down here are being bought which places them well below their husbands.

To begin with, a man owns the house, I mean the building they live in, most girls cannot marry a guy who doesn't own a house. The man most times pays the rent if they're staying in a rented apartment which makes it his house not their house so he can bring in whoever he wants to so far the person is not a crook.

Finally, consider what the men pass through, when you see a woman you want to marry, her family will tax you mightily and when you pay everything they asked for and pay a certain amount of bride price, they will hand the girl over to you.(isn't that business?) keep love aside please, this is pure business arrangement, you pay for their daughter before she becomes you wife.

So she was bought and cannot be equal with you.

A lot of things need to change for our women to enjoy certain privileges in their marriage.

There's this outdated mentality of some ladies that "her money is her money but her husbands money is their money" meaning that the pays almost all the bills and yet they clamour for equal rights.

It smells like nonsense.
from your comment, I guess it's all about the money so marriage to you is a business smiley
Anyways, you are very correct. I mean, if a wife wants equal right with her husband, then don't ever let him spend a kobo on you. And you will get your equal rights. It's very simple, life is simple smiley

But I have a problem with men who think their wife/girlfriend is always up to something when she refuses any financial help from him. Some say it hurts their ego. They like to say "I'm responsible for that" "I did that for her" "I bought this and that for her" and they don't feel like a man when she refuses them that prevelege, why is that so? I mean, aren't you supposed to be happy?

Even though, you will not agree, I am of the opinion that you have been showcasing the characteristics of a feminist of late. I still don't know why many ladies don't want to be called a feminist. Feminism is not necessarily a bad thing. It is only in this part of the world that people view feminist as a disrespectful woman.

I want to understand how you view the role of a woman in a home better.

If your husband wants something to be done using method A, and you want it to be done using method B, which is actually a better method than A. Let us assume that you have tried to make your husband understand that method B is better, but he still insists on using A. What will you do next?

(a) Reluctantly agree to use method B, since that is what your husband wants.
(b) Happily use method B, since your husband is the head of the home and he insisted that you use it.
(c) Stay out of using any method, and let your hubby use anyone that pleases him.

Question 2:
Let use assume that your husband finally used method B, and it happens to be less effective than A.
How will you react?
(a) Make him understand that he needs to agree with you before taking any decision
(b) You will not say anything about the shortcoming in the usage of method B, and make him deduce facts by himself.
(c) Make him understand that he needs to step up his game as the head of the family

If you don't want to reply on Nairaland, we can chat outside.

Miracle just happened....the boy had been crying and refused eating since he checked his JAMB result according to the mom, which was one of the reasons everybody wanted to do anything possible to ensure he gets admission this year, and I was already considering schooling abroad but we all are afraid of that....but then God did wonders yesterday.

I just received a call from the boy that his real JAMB result has been released by JAMB because they had issue at their center, so the system submitted their test without completing it...and one of the JAMB officials at their center on the day of the exam called Abuja central server office to report the issue....so finally, JAMB recalculated their result because it was only 40 questions that was automatically submitted initially according to the little boy....he's so brilliant everybody was worried how come...

So...his real JAMB score now is 240.....and his personal instructor is still not satisfied because the boy is good and in fact, deserve to win JAMB award of best candidate.

So all issues solved....thank you to all that contributed to this thread...thank you....God bless you all...God still does miracle to those that believe and trust in Him....God just answered the little boy's innocent prayers, may God be praised forever!!
